Glycosylation is the most structurally diverse form of post-translational modification (PTM) of proteins that affects a myriad of cellular processes. As a pivotal regulator of protein homeostasis, glycosylation notably impacts the function of proteins, spanning from protein localization and stability to protein-protein interactions. Aberrant glycosylation is a hallmark of cancer, and extensive studies have revealed the multifaceted roles of glycosylation in tumor growth, migration, invasion and immune escape Over the past decade, glycosylation has emerged as an immune regulator in the tumor microenvironment (TME). Here, we summarize the intricate interplay between glycosylation and the immune system documented in recent literature, which orchestrates the regulation of the tumor immune response through endogenous lectins, immune checkpoints and the extracellular matrix (ECM) in the TME. In addition, we discuss the latest progress in glycan-based cancer immunotherapy. This review provides a basic understanding of glycosylation in the tumor immune response and a theoretical framework for tumor immunotherapy.

The invasive Phytolacca americana L. poses a significant threat to local agroforestry ecosystems due to its allelopathic toxicity. However, the ecophysiological response mechanisms of crops to allelochemicals remain unclear. This study investigated the seedling growth, physiological, and biochemical responses of three gramineous crops to the root extracts of P. americana and identified potential allelochemicals of the invader. The germination and seedling growth of three crops were inhibited by extracts differently, with high-concentration extracts causing more severe inhibition on seedling roots in hydroponic (>57%) than soil culture experiments (>18%). This inhibition may be related to representative secondary metabolites such as fatty acyls, alkaloids, and phenols. Despite the significant inhibition of high-concentration extracts on seedling growth, the levels of soluble sugar, soluble protein, and antioxidant enzymes increased synergistically. Under allelopathic stress, three species enhanced antioxidant enzyme activities and metabolite contents at the cost of reducing their shoot, root biomass, and root/shoot ratio. This may be an ecophysiological growth-defense strategy to bolster their resistance to allelopathy. Interestingly, transgenic rice exhibited greater sensitivity to allelochemicals than wild-type rice, resulting in more pronounced growth inhibition and increased levels of most metabolites and antioxidant enzymes. Tumor recurrence and metastasis following surgery remain formidable challenges. Although that is a crucial factor in determining efficacy of postoperative immune treatment, the impact of surgery on tumor microenvironment (TME) is still understudied and the specific treatment options for residual cancer are unsatisfactory. Here, it is verified that abnormal extracellular matrix (ECM) of postsurgical residual cancer results in deteriorative hypoxia, immunosuppression, and hypo‐perfusion, which further promotes invasion and may hinder efficacy of immune checkpoint blockades (ICB). To adaptively potentiate ICB therapy in this context, an ultrasound‐responsive, visualized, and in situ gelling hydrogel nanocomposite (TPP ALG) is prepared through combining phase change nanoparticles and alginate solution for normalizing ECM with controllable delivery of tranilast. After injection and gelling with ions in situ, TPP ALG enables ultrasound visualized and responsive local delivery and long‐term retention, capable of normalizing ECM, improving hypoxia, remodeling immunosuppressive microenvironment, and enhancing ICB permeation for boosting immunotherapy. Ultimately, this TPP ALG and ICB synergistic treatment approach effectively inhibit local recurrence and lung metastasis post operation, thereby delaying survival. Therefore, based on clinical drug and biocompatible materials, the simple‐synthesized hydrogel nanocomposite holds great application prospects for boosting ICB and inhibiting postsurgical cancer recurrence and metastasis. Background: High‐intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) is a promising minimally invasive treatment for liver cancer; however, its efficacy is often limited by the attenuation of ultrasonic energy. This study investigates the effectiveness of B7‐H3‐targeted microbubbles (T‐MBs) in enhancing HIFU ablation of liver cancer and explores their potential for clinical translation. Methods: T‐MBs and isotype control microbubbles (I‐MBs) were synthesized through the conjugation of biotinylated anti‐B7‐H3 antibody and isotype control antibody to the microbubble surface, respectively. Contrast‐enhanced ultrasound imaging was performed to compare the accumulation of T‐MBs and I‐MBs in liver cancer at various time points. The efficacy of T‐MBs in enhancing HIFU treatment was evaluated by measuring the immediate tumor ablation rate and long‐term tumor growth suppression. Additionally, the induced antitumor immune response was assessed through cytokine quantification in serum and tumor tissue, along with immunofluorescence staining conducted on days 1, 3, and 7 post‐treatment. Results: T‐MBs demonstrated superior liver cancer‐specific accumulation, characterized by higher concentrations and prolonged retention compared to I‐MBs. The combination of T‐MBs with HIFU resulted in significantly enhanced tumor ablation rates and superior tumor growth suppression. Post‐treatment analysis revealed a gradual uptick in cytokine levels within the tumor microenvironment, along with progressive infiltration of antitumor immune cells. Conclusion: T‐MBs effectively enhance the therapeutic efficacy of HIFU for liver cancer treatment while simultaneously promoting an antitumor immune response. The present continental crust is characterized by a felsic upper crust and a mafic lower crust, resulting from significant geochemical differentiation over geological time. While various processes have been proposed to explain this differentiation, subduction zones remain pivotal regions for understanding the compositional evolution of continental crust. This study focuses on the South Altyn (SA) continental subduction‐collision belt in western China, a unique setting that experienced ultra‐deep (>300 km) continental subduction followed by multi‐stage exhumation. We present a comprehensive study of four granitoid suites from Tatelekebulake (TTLK) area in SA: biotite granite (BG), monzogranite (MG), K‐feldspar granite (KG), and leucogranite (LG). Comprehensive studies on petrology, geochemistry and zircon U‐Pb dating show that these granitoids formed at 494, 451, 414, and 418 Ma, respectively, and originated from protoliths with affinity to the subducted continental crust in SA. Phase equilibrium modeling suggests that BG formed at ∼800°C and 0.6 GPa, while the MG, KG, and LG formed by differentiation crystallization of the BG magma under progressively decreasing temperature and pressure conditions (750°C, 0.5 GPa; 740–700°C, 0.2 GPa; and 700–640°C, 0.1 GPa, respectively). These results, combined with previous studies, allow us to reconstruct the tectonic processes of continental exhumation and subsequent orogenic collapse in SA during the Early Paleozoic. Importantly, our findings reveal that magmatism derived from partial melting of subducted continental crust can promote the geochemical evolution of continental crust toward more felsic compositions, even in the absence of significant crustal growth or mantle‐derived magmatism. This study provides a valuable case for understanding the compositional evolution of continental crust in deep subduction zones and challenges conventional models that rely heavily on arc magmatism for crustal differentiation. Moreover, our results contribute to a broader understanding of crustal evolution processes in collisional orogens worldwide and highlight the importance of recycling and differentiation of subducted continental material in shaping crustal compositions. Plain Language Summary: The geochemical evolution of the continental crust, from mafic composition 3 billion years ago to current composition stratified structure, is commonly believed to be driven by crustal growth through arc magmatism and undergoes a series of subsequent complex geodynamic processes. The study of the Early Paleozoic multi‐stage magmatism related to continental crust subduction and exhumation in the Tatelekebulake region of South Altyn western China reveals the differentiation, evolution and material cycling occurring in the absence of prominent arc magmatism mechanisms within the upper to middle crust range and provides a new scenario of the evolution of the continental crust, and crustal growth. This process could drive the upper continental crust toward a more felsic composition, while the middle to lower continental crust becomes more mafic characteristics. This research paper primarily focuses on the synchronization of a specific class of multi‐weighted coupled neural networks (MWCNNs) with switching topology, employing two adaptive control methods. In complex environments and under the influence of communication disturbances, the topology structures of coupled neural networks with multiple weights inevitably undergo time‐varying changes. To address this, we propose a novel type of MWCNNs with switching topologies. To ensure synchronization within this network, we develop sufficient conditions based on Lyapunov functional and inequality techniques. These conditions guarantee the achievement of synchronization. Moreover, we address the synchronization problem by employing node‐based and edge‐based adaptive controllers. Finally, we provide a numerical example to demonstrate the effectiveness of the obtained results.
