2. Assessing Effect of Irrigation Frequency on Evaporation and Transpiration in Vineyards Using SIMDualKc Simulation Model with Measured Wet Fraction.

Abstract

Irrigation efficiency is important for the environment and the economy. SIMDualKc has been effectively used to calculate evaporation and transpiration separately in vineyards for different irrigation strategies, but not to analyze the impact of irrigation frequency. This study was conducted for the in-field adjustment of the soil wetted fraction (wf) with a time domain reflectometry (TDR) sensor as a function of different irrigation frequency treatments (T03, T07, and T15 with irrigation every 3, 7, and 15 days, respectively). Evaporation and transpiration values were estimated separately with the SIMDualKc model for different irrigation frequencies with the adjusted wf, comparing them with vineyard field measurements and analyzing the effect of different irrigation frequencies on vineyard yield. The wf in T15 was higher than that in T07, which in turn was higher than that in T03. SIMDualKc indicates the most unfavorable treatment to be the T07, with higher evaporation and lower transpiration than T15 and T03, while T15 had higher evaporation and lower transpiration than T03. Although stomatic conductance also indicates the most unfavorable case to be T07, no clear differences were found between T03 and T15. No statistically significant differences were obtained in yield. The results indicate that the differences observed between irrigation frequencies are not reflected in yield but do show up in water use efficiency. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Water is a limiting factor and to adopt the most appropriate agronomic strategy it is necessary to know the water status. The objective is (i) analysing of the influence of different agronomic treatments on canopy temperature in vineyards with a thermal camera on an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), (ii) analysing of the influence of different agronomic treatments on vineyard water potentials with a pressure chamber, (iii) advanced technical feasibility analysis of vineyard crop monitoring. The control treatment (T07) in cv. Grenache consisted of applying 30% of reference evapotranspiration (ETo) with irrigation frequency every seven days and seven different treatments were proposed with different irrigation frequencies, pre-bud irrigation, and vine shoot distribution (T03, T15, T7A, T7V, T7P, T00, and T0P). As a result and in conclusion, the use of thermal cameras in UAVs and mid-day stem water potential allows differentiation between irrigated and unirrigated treatments, but no clear differences were shown between irrigation frequencies, pre-irrigation treatment, or vine shoot distribution. Comparing the thermal camera information in UAV and the stem water potential, certain patterns are identified with significant correlation values, the use of thermal cameras for the evaluation of plant water status is recommended, especially to obtain information in large areas. [spa] Introducción: Las escalas RENAL y PADUA fueron diseñadas como método para determinar la complejidad de las masas renales y predecir el riesgo de complicaciones perioperatorias de los tumores renales. El objetivo de nuestro estudio fue investigar la existencia de asociación entre dichas escalas y el cumplimiento de Trifecta y Pentafecta. Material y métodos: Analizamos retrospectivamente 102 pacientes con tumores renales tratados mediante nefrectomía parcial entre 2011 y 2018. Se calcularon las escalas RENAL y PADUA para cada caso según las imágenes obtenidas por TC o RM y se analizó el cumplimiento de Trifecta y Pentafecta. La asociación entre las variables se estimó con la prueba chi cuadrado. Resultados: La mediana de tamaño tumoral fue de 2.7 cm (RIQ 0.8-7.5), la mediana de puntuación en la escala RENAL de 7 (RIQ 4-11) y la mediana en la escala PADUA de 8 (RIQ 6-14). El cumplimiento de Trifecta y Pentafecta fue del 50% (n=51/102) y 46.1% (n=47/102), respectivamente. El cumplimiento de Trifecta y Pentafecta fue mayor cuando la puntuación en la escala PADUA era ≤10 (OR 3.62; IC95% (1.08-12.11); p=0.0317) y (OR 4.98; IC95% (1.32- 18.7); p=0.0175), respectivamente. De manera similar, el cumplimiento de Trifecta y Pentafecta fue mayor en los pacientes con la puntuación en la escala RENAL ≤ 8 (OR 4.09; IC95% (1.46-11.42) y (OR 4.92; IC95% (1.66-14.51); p=0.0039), respectivamente. Conclusiones: La complejidad anatómica de las masas renales medida mediante las escalas PADUA y RENAL podría estar relacionada con peores resultados oncológicos y funcionales de los pacientes sometidos a nefrectomías parciales., [eng] Introduction: RENAL and PADUA scoring systems have been designed and validated as a method to assess the complexity of renal masses and predict the risk of perioperative complications. We aimed to evaluate the association between RENAL and PADUA nephrometry scores with the Trifecta and Pentafecta’s achievement. Materials and methods: We retrospectively analyzed the data from 102 patients with renal cell carcinoma who underwent partial nephrectomy from January 2011 to October 2018 at our institution. Radiological characteristics of the renal masses were scored according to the RENAL and PADUA classification. Trifecta and Pentafecta’s achievement was analyzed. We performed a descriptive analysis and used de χ2 test to evaluate the relationship between PADUA and RENAL scores and Trifecta and Pentafecta’s achievement. Results: Among 102 patients, the median tumor size was 2.7 cm (IQR 0.8-7.5), the median RENAL score was 7 (IQR 4-11) and PADUA score 8 (IQR 6-14). The overall rate of postoperative complications was 21.6% (n=22). The rates of Trifecta and Pentafecta achievement were 50% (n=51/102) and 46.1% (n=47/102), respectively. Trifecta and Pentafecta’s achievement was higher when the PADUA score was ≤10 (OR 3.62; IC95% (1.08-12.11); p=0.0317) and (OR 4.98; IC95% (1.32-18.7); p=0.0175), respectively. Conclusions: The anatomic complexity of the renal masses measured by the RENAL and PADUA nephrometry scores could be related with worse oncological and functional outcomes following partial nephrectomy.

46. Factores de riesgo de la supervivencia a largo plazo de la cirugía coronaria aislada

Abstract

Objetivo: Analizar la supervivencia a largo plazo de los pacientes operados de cirugía coronaria aislada y los factores de riesgo asociados con dicha supervivencia. Pacientes: Se analizaron todos los pacientes > 17 años operados de cirugía coronaria aislada desde noviembre de 2002 hasta diciembre de 2009. Se hizo el seguimiento de los pacientes dados de alta vivos del hospital hasta el 31 de diciembre de 2011 con la ayuda de la información dada por el Instituto Nacional de Defunción. Se calculó la mortalidad a los 30 días de la cirugía y al final del seguimiento. La supervivencia se estimó mediante las curvas de Kaplan-Meier y los factores de riesgo asociados con la mortalidad a largo plazo se identificaron mediante un modelo de regresión de Cox. Resultados: Se estudiaron 1.162 pacientes con una edad media de 64 ± 11,3 años. La mortalidad a 30 días fue del 1,1% (IC 95%: 0,48 – 1,77). El 8 % de los supervivientes al alta falleció al final del seguimiento. Los factores de riesgo asociados con la supervivencia a largo plazo fueron: edad ≥ 70 años, la anemia preoperatoria, la enfermedad vascular periférica, EPOC, la transfusión de hematíes y la insuficiencia renal aguda postoperatoria. La supervivencia a los 5 años de los pacientes ≥ 70 años fue menor que la de los < 70 años (85% vs 94%, p < 0,0001). Conclusión: Los pacientes operados de cirugía coronaria aislada presentaron una baja mortalidad a 30 días y a los 5 años. La predicción de la supervivencia a largo plazo está relacionada con factores de riesgo preoperatorios y postoperatorios., Objective: To analyze long-term survival and the risk factors associated with long-term survival of patients undergoing isolated coronary surgery. Patients: Patients aged >17 years undergoing isolated coronary surgery from November 2002 to December 2009 were analyzed.
