Este artigo tem como objetivo fazer um estudo acerca da representação do homem negro nos contos “Curso superior”, “Meu negro de estimação” e “Solar dos príncipes”, de Marcelino Freire. Na leitura desses contos, pretendemos evidenciar as distintas representações dos personagens masculinos negros, além de problematizar aspectos diversos referentes à objetificação do corpo negro, à identidade negra, ao racismo, ao preconceito e à discriminação em diferentes contextos sociais e culturais.

RESUMO: A poética de Elizandra Souza traz uma preocupação estética, literária e política com a subalternização das mulheres periféricas, relegadas pelo cânone literário nacional e marginalizadas tanto pela questão de gênero quanto pelo viés geográfico-econômico e, na maioria das vezes, pelo viés racial. Importante expoente da literatura marginal-periférica, a autora tem como prática literária a busca constante pela desconstrução da representação feminina tradicional e eurocêntrica, a problematização de mitos e tabus, além de denunciar a violência e o estigma imputados às mulheres periféricas. O objetivo deste artigo é analisar as questões de gênero que perpassam os poemas utilizados como recorte deste estudo, contidos nos livros Punga (2007) e Águas da Cabaça (2012), e verificar como a linguagem literária é utilizada para evidenciar o corpo como espaço simbólico de luta e resistência. ABSTRACT: The poetry of Elizandra Souza brings an aesthetical, literary and political concern regarding the subordination of marginal women, relegated by the canonical literature and marginalized both for gender and economic-geographical issues and, most of times, also for racial issues. Important exponent of the marginal literature, the author has as her literary practice the constant aim at the deconstruction of the traditional and Eurocentric female representation, the discussion of myths and taboos, revealing the violence and stigmas imposed to marginal women. The objective of this article is to analyze the gender issues that permeate poems selected from the books Punga (2007) and Águas da Cabaça (2012), and to exmine how the literary language is used to evidence the body as a symbolic space for resistance and fight. Este trabalho objetiva refletir a respeito das configurações familiares representadas na literatura brasileira contemporânea. O artigo está dividido em duas seções principais: inicialmente, é proposto um estudo acerca dos processos de subjetivação e dos modos como a identidade do outro é representada discursivamente em nossa sociedade; a seguir, analisamos as novas configurações familiares na narrativa brasileira infantil e juvenil. This work aims to reflect about the family configurations represented in contemporary Brazilian literature. The article is divided into two main sections: first, we propose a study on process od subjectivation and the ways in which the identity of the other is represented discursively in our society, then we analyze the new family configurations in Brazilian children and youth narrativeS.

In this essay, we aim to analyze the procedures and narrative strategies used by Antonio Fernando Borges in Braz, Quincas & Cia. (2002) in their rereading of the work of Machado de Assis, through intertextuality, especially through parody as a strategy for aesthetic self-questioning, and their implications for both the construction of the narrative as to their reception by the reader. Neste ensaio, temos como objetivo analisar os procedimentos e as estratégias narrativas utilizadas por Antonio Fernando Borges em Braz, Quincas & Cia (2002) em suas releituras da obra de Machado de Assis, por meio da intertextualidade, principalmente através da paródia como estratégia para o autoquestionamento estético, e as suas implicações tanto para a construção da narrativa quanto para sua recepção por parte do leitor.

Em nossa pesquisa, nos propomos, inicialmente, a resgatar algumas das tendências da prosa de ficção brasileira contemporânea com o objetivo de apresentar ao leitor algumas de suas principais linhas de força, com destaque para a narrativa metaficcional, produzida no final do século XX e início do século XXI. Para realizar esse estudo de cunho bibliográfico, optamos por dividi-lo em duas partes. Na primeira parte, intitulada A narrativa brasileira contemporânea, composta por dois capítulos, tecemos algumas considerações acerca do conceito de contemporâneo em literatura, assim como faremos um resgate da recepção crítica da literatura brasileira produzida nas últimas décadas, seguido de uma ampla discussão sobre os aspectos constitutivos da narrativa metaficcional. Na segunda parte, intitulada A encenação do fazer literário na prosa de ficção brasileira contemporânea, nos propomos a analisar efetivamente as estratégias narrativas e discursivas empregadas por Sérgio Sant Anna, Antonio Fernando Borges e Rubem Fonseca na elaboração de seus romances metaficcionais, respectivamente: Um crime delicado (1997), Braz, Quincas & Cia (2002), e Diário de um fescenino (2003), dedicando a cada uma dessas obras um capítulo específico nos quais procuramos evidenciar as estratégias narrativas e discursivas empregadas pelos autores no processo de construção e de elaboração de seus romances, de modo a explicitar as distintas manifestações da narrativa metaficcional na contemporaneidade. In our research, we propose initially to rescue some of the current trends of contemporary Brazilian prose fiction in order to introduce the reader to some of its main lines of force, especially a metafictional narrative, produced in the late twentieth century and early twenty-first century. To accomplish this bibliographical study, we chose to divide it into two parts. In the first part, entitled A narrativa brasileira contemporânea, comprising two chapters, we have made some considerations about the concept of contemporary literature, as we did a rescue of the critical reception of Brazilian literature produced in recent decades, followed by an extensive discussion on the issues constituent of metafictional narrative. In the second part, titled A encenação do fazer literário na prosa de ficção brasileira contemporânea, we propose to effectively analyze narrative and discursive strategies employed by Sérgio Sant'Anna, Antonio Fernando Borges and Rubem Fonseca in the preparation of his metafictional novels, respectively: Um crime delicado (1997), Braz, Quincas & Cia (2002), e Diário de um fescenino (2003), dedicating to each of these works a specific chapter in which we seek to highlight the discursive and narrative strategies employed by the authors in the construction process and elaboration of his novels, in order to explain the different manifestations of the contemporary metafictional narrative.

In this paper, we intend to analyse the representation of the archaic rumor of the indigenes from colastiné’s tribe in the narrative O enteado, by José Juan Saer. Along our process of reading, we intend to evidence some questions related to the symbolic universe of the tribe, that is a social, historical and cultural construction. Neste artigo, propomos uma análise da representação do rumor arcaico dos indígenas da tribo colastiné no romance O enteado, de José Juan Saer, de modo a evidenciar questões relacionadas ao universo simbólico da tribo, fruto de uma construção social, histórica e cultural.

Nesta pesquisa, objetivamos analisar como ocorrem as (auto)representações de personagens homossexuais masculinos em contos de Caio Fernando Abreu, além de examinar nas estratégias discursivas e narrativas quem fala, o que e de onde fala; pensar a relação centro-periferia no âmbito da dominação simbólica no mundo literário e artístico, que é transfigurada no campo das relações sociais; e evidenciar os preconceitos e os estereótipos preestabelecidos em relação a esses personagens. Para tanto, em um primeiro momento, propomos uma discussão entre literatura e representação, cuja ênfase recai sobre as implicações teóricas, sociais, políticas, culturais e subjetivas em relação à representação do outro na literatura brasileira. Nesta etapa, também examinamos certos questionamentos que não podem ser deixados de lado: como o outro é representado? O que essa representação significa? Sob quais circunstâncias essa representação se concretiza e como ela se justifica? Trata-se de uma representação institucionalizada ou não? Em seguida, discutimos questões diversas de cunho teórico e crítico sobre gênero, sexualidade e identidade, com enfoque especial nos valores socioculturais e históricos presentes na cultura ocidental. Tecemos ainda algumas considerações sobre as travessias e os deslocamentos na constituição de identidades de gênero e sexual, que remetem a uma questão cara àqueles sujeitos que ousam romper tais fronteiras de uma sociedade marcadamente heteronormativa: o coming out. Posteriormente, situamos Caio Fernando Abreu no panorama das literaturas brasileira e gaúcha, bem como evidenciamos certas características peculiares à contística do autor, particularmente o que diz respeito ao seu estilo urbano. Por fim, passamos à análise do corpus literário com a finalidade de analisar os seguintes eixos temáticos: 1) as experiências homoafetivas e/ou homoeróticas; 2) as questões relacionadas à sexualidade humana, à solidão, ao preconceito, à discriminação e à violência às quais os personagens homossexuais estão sujeitos diariamente; 3) os ritos de iniciação sexual ou a passagem da (pré)adolescência para a fase adulta; 4) a AIDS e seu impacto na vida afetiva e sexual desses personagens. _________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT In this research we aim at analyzing how the self-representations of masculine homosexual literary characters occur in Caio Fernando Abreu´s short stories, besides examining who speaks, what is spoken and from where one speaks in the discursive strategies; think the relation center-periphery in the field of symbolic domination in the literary and artistic world, which is transfigured in the area of social relations; and put in evidence the pre-established prejudices and stereotypes related to those characters. In a first moment, a discussion between literature and representation is proposed. Its emphasis is on the theoretical, social, political, cultural and subjective implications related to the representation of the other in Brazilian literature. At this point, some questions which could not be neglected are also raised: how is the other represented? What does this representation mean? Under which circumstances does this representation turn out to be concrete and how does it justify itself? Is it an institutionalized representation or not? Then, diverse theoretical and critical issues on gender, sexuality and identity are discussed with a distinguished prominence on sociocultural and historical values present the Western culture. Also, some considerations about the crossings and displacements in the constitution of a gender and sexual identity, which directs an issue of importance to those individuals who dare breaking up the frontiers of a highly heteronormative society: the coming out. Next, Caio Fernando Abreu is placed in the scenario of the literatures from Brazil and Rio Grande do Sul and some peculiar characteristics of his short story production are evidenced, particularly those which refer to his urban style. Finally, the literary corpus is analyzed so that we concentrate on the following thematic fields: a) the homoaffective and/or homoerotic experiences; 2) issues related to human sexuality, solitude, prejudice, discrimination and violence, to which the homosexual characters are subjected everyday; 3) the sexual initiation rituals or the passage from pre-adolescence to adulthood; 4) the AIDS and its impact on the sexual and affective life of these characters.

Este trabalho investiga, primordialmente, três frentes: em primeiro lugar, utilizando a pesquisa de Regina Dalcastagnè (2012), é discutido o estado da literatura brasileira contemporânea e quem são aqueles que têm voz dentro de um mercado tão homogêneo. Em segundo lugar, a importância de sujeitos pertencentes a grupos historicamente marginalizados contarem suas próprias histórias e, por fim, a construção de identidades trans e travestis no livro Subversives, lançado pela Editora Triquetra em 2022 e organizado por Daniele Cavalcante. O livro, uma antologia de contos escritos por autores trans e travestis, é uma obra de literatura fantástica, em especial do fantástico urbano. Para a construção e realização deste trabalho os contos do livro foram analisados em três formas diferentes: em sua construção literária, em como as identidades dos personagens e autores dialogam com as identidades dos leitores trans e travestis e em quais referências transmídias as pessoas autoras se apoiam para contar e enriquecer sua história. Essas histórias, fugindo do imaginário cisgênero da identidade trans e travesti como uma sentença de morte prematura, constroem mundos nos quais seus personagens existem, resistem e vivem sem, necessariamente, discutir apenas sua transgeneridade. Como fundamentação teórica para as questões de gênero, foram utilizados Judith Butler (2003) e seu conceito de matriz heterossexual; Stuart Hall (2006), com seu conceito de novas identidades e Berenice Bento (2008), com suas considerações sobre a experiência identitária da transgeneridade. Além de autores como Michel Foucault (2009), Donna Haraway (2009) e Giorgio Agambem (2010) para devidos aprofundamentos nas questões literárias e também nas construções dos textos. This work primarily investigates three fronts: first, using the research of Regina Dalcastagnè (2012), the state of contemporary Brazilian literature is discussed and who are those who have a voice within such a homogeneous market. Secondly, the importance of subjects belonging to historically marginalized groups telling their own stories and, finally, the construction of trans identities in the book Subversives, released by Editora Triquetra in 2022 and organized by Daniele Cavalcante. The book, an anthology of short stories written by trans, is a work of fantastic literature, especially urban fantasy. For the construction and realization of this work, the short stories in the book were analyzed in three different ways: in their literary construction, in how the identities of the characters and authors dialogue with the identities of trans readers and in which transmedia references these authors rely to tell and enrich your story. These stories, escaping from the cisgender imaginary of trans identity as a premature death sentence, build worlds in which their characters exist, resist and live without necessarily discussing only the fact they are trans. As a theoretical foundation for gender issues, Judith Butler (2003) and her concept of heterosexual matrix; Stuart Hall (2006), with his concept of new identities and Berenice Bento (2008), with her considerations on the identity experience of transgender life, were used. In addition to authors such as Michel Foucault (2009), Donna Haraway (2009) and Giorgio Agambem (2010) for proper delving into literary issues and also in the construction of the short stories.

O presente trabalho é constituído por dois ensaios sobre a temática do homoerotismo masculino na poesia do Brasil entre os séculos XVII e XXI. As análises estabelecidas dialogam com os estudos literários acerca do tema, com pesquisas sobre sexualidade, gênero e o Pajubá e se dão a partir de um olhar homoeroticamente inclinado e, mais do que isso, por meio do “olhar gay” do pesquisador. No primeiro ensaio, “Homoerotismo masculino para além da ‘Boca do Inferno’”, há três subtópicos exemplificadores de três configurações poéticas observadas como frequentes. No primeiro deles, “Sob configuração gongadeira”, são realizadas leituras de poemas de Gregório de Matos, Manuel Inácio da Silva Alvarenga, Francisco Moniz Barreto, Paulo Vellozo, Jayme Santos Neves, Guilherme Santos Neves e Paulo Franchetti. No segundo deles, “Sob configuração discreta”, são realizadas leituras de poemas de Mário de Andrade e Carlos Drummond de Andrade e, no terceiro, “Sob configuração pintosa”, são realizadas leituras de poemas de Junqueira Freire, Roberto Piva, Caio Fernando Abreu e Hilda Hilst. Entre os resultados obtidos, estão: as configurações da temática que perpassam desde as noções de pecado, tara e desvio, em perspectivas negativas no que se refere às noções de afeto e desejo homoeróticos, em perspectivas afirmativas. Não há, contudo, uma linearidade temporal entre as perspectivas. Outro resultado obtido é que o tema é estabelecido na poesia a partir de elaborações textuais tanto explícitas quanto implícitas. No segundo ensaio, são feitas análises de poemas de A hora e vez de Candy Darling (2016), de Horácio Costa, que chegam à conclusão de que os tais efetivam uma dilatação temática do homoerotismo masculino incorporando desde a homoafetividade e a homofobia, até às existências plurais LGBT+. The present work consists of two essays about the theme of male homoeroticism in Brazilian poetry between the 17th and 21st centuries. The established analyzes dialogue with the literary studies on the subject, with research on sexuality, gender and Pajubá. They are based on a homoerotically avaible looking and, more precisely, the “gay overview” of the researcher, too. In the first essay, “Homoerotismo masculino para além da ‘Boca do Inferno’”, there are three exemplifying subtopics of three poetic configurations. In the first one, “Sob configuração gongadeira”, are read poems by Gregório de Matos, Manuel Inácio da Silva Alvarenga, Francisco Moniz Barreto, Paulo Vellozo, Jayme Santos Neves, Guilherme Santos Neves and Paulo Franchetti. In the second one, “Sob configuração discreta”, are read poems by Mário de Andrade and Carlos Drummond de Andrade. And in the third one, are read poems by Junqueira Freire, Roberto Piva, Caio Fernando Abreu and Hilda Hilst. Among the results obtained are: the configurations of the theme run through from the notions of sin, tareness and deviation, in negative perspectives; to the notions of homoerotic affection and desire, in affirmative perspectives. However, there is no temporal linearity between them. Another result obtained is that the theme is established in poetry from textual elaborations, both explicit and implicit. In the second essay, poems from A hora e vez de Candy Darling (2016), by Horácio Costa, are analyzed, and the conclusion that they effect a thematic expansion of male homoeroticism, incorporating from homoaffectiveness and homophobia, to the plural LGBT+ existences. Nesta tese, estudo comparativamente o tema da homofobia no romance Em nome do desejo, do escritor brasileiro João Silvério Trevisan (1985), publicado originalmente em 1983, e no conto Brokeback Mountain, da escritora estadunidense Annie Proulx (2003, 2006), cuja primeira versão foi publicada na revista The New Yorker em 1997. Defendo a hipótese de que essas narrativas engendram representações críticas da homofobia e do ideal hegemônico ocidental de masculinidade. Assim sendo, objetivo analisar as configurações dessas representações, levando em conta principalmente o relacionamento homoerótico dos personagens João/Tiquinho e Abel Rebebel, no romance Em nome do desejo, e Ennis del Mar e Jack Twist, no conto Brokeback Mountain. Este trabalho de literatura comparada assume uma postura de crítica cultural, tendo como ponto central uma reflexão sobre a precariedade da vida dos sujeitos homoeroticamente inclinados numa cultura profundamente homofóbica como a nossa. Dessa forma, a relação entre literatura, história e sociedade, levando em conta o eixo temático supracitado, é bastante abordada ao longo da tese, através de reflexões de Eve Kosofsky Sedgwick (1985, 2007), Jurandir Freire Costa (1992), Michel Foucault (1999, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016), Didier Eribon (2008), Georges Bataille (2014), Daniel Borrillo (2016), Judith Butler (2016, 2019a, 2019b) e outros autores. Os conceitos de disciplinamento dos corpos, heterossexismo, performatividade de gênero, homofobia, dispositivos sociais, homoerotismo e armário homoerótico são fundamentais para o desenvolvimento hermenêutico deste estudo literário. In this thesis, I comparatively study the theme of homophobia in the novel Em nome do desejo (In the name of desire), by the Brazilian writer João Silvério Trevisan (1985), originally published in 1983, and in the short story Brokeback Mountain, by the American writer Annie Proulx (2003, 2006), whose first version was published in The New Yorker in 1997. I defend the hypothesis that these narratives engender critical representations of homophobia and the Western hegemonic ideal of masculinity. Therefore, I aim to analyze the configurations of these representations, mainly taking into account the homoerotic relationship between the characters João/Tiquinho and Abel Rebebel, in the novel Em nome do desejo, and Ennis del Mar and Jack Twist, in the short story Brokeback Mountain. This work of comparative literature adopts a stance of cultural critique, having as its central point a reflection on the precariousness of the lives of homoerotically inclined subjects in a profoundly homophobic culture like ours. Thus, given the aforementioned thematic axis, the relationship between literature, history, and society is extensively addressed throughout the thesis by drawing on reflections prompted by Eve Kosofsky Sedgwick (1985, 2007), Jurandir Freire Costa (1992), Michel Foucault (1999, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016), Didier Eribon (2008), Georges Bataille (2014), Daniel Borrillo (2016), Judith Butler (2016, 2019a, 2019b), and other authors. The concepts of disciplining bodies, heterosexism, gender performativity, homophobia, social dispositifs, homoeroticism, and homoerotic closet are fundamental for the hermeneutic development of this literary study.

Nesta dissertação temos como objetivo investigar a condição feminina das personagens negras da coletânea de contos Olhos d’água (2014), de Conceição Evaristo, importante escritora da literatura brasileira e da literatura negra contemporâneas. Para isso, analisamos como essas mulheres negras brasileiras experienciam e manifestam (no sentido de manifesto, denúncia), em seu tempo-lugar, opressões estruturais relacionadas ao colonialismo, tais como o racismo, o sexismo e o classismo, como observa Grada Kilomba (2019), considerando o modo como as personagens femininas são silenciadas e como enfrentam esse silenciamento. Nos contos selecionados, as protagonistas estão no limiar entre a vida e a morte, e em três deles, a violência leva à morte física. Nesse sentido, o conceito de Ferocidade poética, criado por Franciane Silva (2018), se faz pertinente. Este se refere ao modo como os cenários violentos na literatura de escritoras afro-brasileiras, como Evaristo, são construídos com intensa poeticidade. A partir disso, ponderamos sobre a necropolítica latente na realidade dessas personagens e como a escrita escrevivente de Evaristo, ao falar da morte poeticamente, humanizando suas personagens, fala também da política de vida. A escolha dessa autora e de sua obra decorre de uma necessidade latente na contemporaneidade de um olhar sobre as questões de gênero interseccionadas com as questões de raça e classe sem a necessidade de hierarquizá-las, como nos diz Djamila Ribeiro (2019), e por observar como essas categorias se intercruzam na perspectiva do feminismo negro, buscando romper com uma cisão criada por uma sociedade desigual, patriarcalista e heterossexista. O estudo da autorrepresentação da mulher negra nos permitirá elaborar uma reflexão sobre o feminismo negro e a literatura negra, pois entendemos a importância de uma mulher negra escritora, que rompe com o discurso hegemônico e com a ótica colonizadora sobre seu corpo, sua identidade e sua sexualidade (COLLINS apud BERTH, 2018). In this dissertation we aim to investigate the female condition of the Black characters in the short story collection Olhos d’água (2014), by Conceição Evaristo, an important writer of Brazilian literature and contemporary Black literature. For this, we analyzed how these Black Brazilian women experience and manifest (talking about manifestation, denunciation), in their time-place, structural oppressions related to colonialism, such as racism, sexism and classism, as observed by Grada Kilomba (2019), considering the way female characters are silenced and how they face this silencing. In the selected short stories, the protagonists are on the threshold between life and death, and in three of them, violence leads to physical death. The concept of poetic Ferocity, created by Franciane Silva (2018), is relevant. This refers to the way violent scenarios in the literature of Afro-Brazilian writers, like Evaristo, are constructed with intense poeticity. From this, we ponder about the latent necropolitics in the reality of these characters and how Evaristo's writing, when speaking of death poetically, humanizing her characters, also speaks about life politics. The preference for this author and her work occurs from a latent need in contemporary times to notice and pay attention to gender issues intersected with issues of race and class without the need to rank them, as Djamila Ribeiro (2019) tells us, and to observe how these categories intersect in the perspective of Black feminism, seeking to break with a split created by an unequal, patriarchal and heterosexist society. The study of the self-representation of the Black woman will allow us to elaborate a reflection on Black feminism and Black literature, as we understand the importance of a Black woman writer, who breaks with the hegemonic discourse and with the colonizing perspective on her body, identity and sexuality (COLLINS apud BERTH, 2018). A presente tese investiga as configurações do homoerotismo e da homofobia em quatro narrativas juvenis contemporâneas, quais sejam: Eu é um outro (2014), de Hermes Bernardi Júnior; O namorado do papai ronca (2012), de Plínio Camillo; One man guy (2015), de Michael Barakiva; e Garoto encontra garoto (2015), de David Levithan. O objetivo é analisar as múltiplas configurações homoeróticas das personagens, em distintos espaços de sociabilidade, dentre eles, o espaço da escola, marcadamente, opressor e homofóbico, além de propor uma discussão acerca do “armário”, como um dispositivo que regula, muitas vezes, a vida dos homossexuais. Partimos da hipótese de que a homofobia, nos romances, surge a partir da construção social que estabelece a supremacia da heterossexualidade nas relações afetivas. Nesse sentido, os personagens dos romances estão inseridos em situações de homofobia e violência, assentadas em estruturas sociais, que regulamentam a heteronormatividade como natural, gerando, assim, desigualdade, violência e discriminação entre os indivíduos que representam a diversidade sexual. A escola, a família, e outros espaços de sociabilidade, partem, também, dessa ideologia da hegemonia heterossexista, que oprime as minorias sexuais e aplica sanções descabidas, em prol de uma subjetividade em relação à sexualidade. O estudo é de cunho bibliográfico, com metodologia exploratória, o que permite estabelecer um contato com as teorias sobre gênero, sexualidade, estudos culturais e os estudos queer. Como referencial teórico-crítico, a partir de uma perspectiva pós estruturalista, referente aos estudos de gênero e sexualidade, propomos, inicialmente, Even Kosofsky Sedgwick (1985, 2007), Michel Foucault (1981,1988, 2015), Daniel Borrillo (2010), Judith Butler (2015, 2018a, 2018b), Guacira Lopes Louro (1995, 1997, 2009, 2015, 2018), Tomaz Tadeu da Silva (2012), Kathryn Woodward (2012), Didier Eribon (2008), Erving Goffman (2008), Georges Bataille (2013), Jurandir Freire Costa (1992), dentre outros. Esperamos que esta discussão possa contribuir para uma reflexão sobre a importância de acolher as minorias sexuais e estabelecer a igualdade sem distinção de gênero. This thesis investigates the configurations of homoeroticism and homophobia in four contemporary youth narratives, namely Hermes Bernardi Júnior’s Eu é um outro (2014); Plínio Camillo’s O namorado do papai ronca (2012); Michael Barakiva’s One man guy (2015); and David Levithan’s Boy meets boy (2015). The aim is to analyze the characters’ multiple homoerotic configurations in different spaces of socialization, among which the markedly oppressive and homophobic school environment, in addition to proposing a discussion on the “closet” as a device that very often regulates homosexuals’ lives. The thesis is founded upon the hypothesis that the homophobia present in the novels emerges from the social construction that establishes the heterosexuality supremacy in affective relationships. In that regard, the characters of the novels find themselves subjected to homophobic and violent situations built upon social structures that regulate the heteronormativity, purporting it as natural, thereby generating inequality, violence, and discrimination among the individuals that represent sexual diversity. School, family, and other spaces of socialization are also based upon this ideology of the heterosexist hegemony which oppresses the sexual minorities and perpetrate unjustifiable sanctions on behalf of a subjectivity in relation to sexuality. This is a bibliographical study with an exploratory methodology, which permits the contact with theories on gender, sexuality, cultural studies and queer studies. From a post-structuralist perspective related to gender and sexuality studies, we propose, to begin with, theoretical and critical references such as Even Kosofsky Sedgwick (1985,2007), Michel Foucault (1981, 1988, 2015), Daniel Borrillo (2010), Judith Butler (2015, 2018a, 2018b), Guacira Lopes Louro (1995, 1997, 2009, 2015, 2018), Tomaz Tadeu da Silva (2012), Kathryn Woodward (2012), Didier Eribon (2008), Erving Goffman (2008), Georges Bataille (2013), Jurandir Freire Costa (1992), among others. We hope that this discussion will contribute to a reflection about the importance of accepting and welcoming sexual minorities and establishing equality without gender distinction.

A presente tese objetiva analisar de que maneira a relação entre sujeito e espaço, nos romances O filho da mãe (2009) e Simpatia pelo demônio (2016), do escritor contemporâneo Bernardo Carvalho, explicita os conflitos em torno de questões identitárias. Partimos da hipótese de que o deslocamento, seja ele representado pelo trânsito, pela errância dos personagens, pela crise e fluidez das identidades, traz para o primeiro plano identidades desviantes que, sob vários aspectos, põem em questão a crise do masculino desafiando as fronteiras heteronormativas e seus arranjos dentro dos mecanismos discursivos. Nesse sentido, Bernardo Carvalho, nesses dois romances, apresenta personagens errantes/estrangeiros cuja representação gravita em torno das questões do homoerotismo e das demandas do desejo em diferentes contextos sociais e geográficos. A análise das obras, sob o prisma do desejo homoerótico, permitiu que se verificasse essa articulação entre espaço e identidade não heteronormativa, a partir de uma sociabilidade corpórea dos personagens implicando, assim, em uma literatura aberta à diferença. A metodologia desta pesquisa, que é de cunho bibliográfico, contempla os estudos teórico-críticos formulados por Stuart Hall (2003/2006/2014), Regina Dalcastagnè (2012), Néstor García Canclini (2016), Michel de Certeau (2014), Tim Cresswell (2006), Doreen Massey (2015), Marc Augé (1994/2006/2010), Judith Butler (2008/2015/2019), Michel Foucault (1981/2010/2014/2018/2019a/2019b/2020), Guacira Lopes Louro (2010/2020), dentre outros. Assim, esperamos que os resultados contribuam com a fortuna crítica da obra ficcional de Bernardo Carvalho, especificamente, sobre os romances O filho da mãe e Simpatia pelo demônio. The present thesis aims to analyze how the relationship between the subject and space, in the no-vels O Filho da Mãe (2009) and Simpatia pelo demônio (2016), by the contemporary writer Ber-nardo Carvalho, explains the conflicts around identity issues. We start from the hypothesis that displacement – whether represented by traffic, the wandering of characters, the crisis and fluidity of identities – brings to the forefront deviant identities that, in various aspects, call into question the crisis of the masculine, challenging heteronormative boundaries and their arrangements within discursive mechanisms. In this sense, Bernardo Carvalho, in these two novels, presents wandering/foreigner characters whose representation revolves around issues of homoeroticism and the demands of desire in different social and geographical contexts. Works analysis from the perspective of homoerotic desire, allowed this articulation between space and non-heteronormative identity to be verified, from a corporeal sociability of the characters, implying, therefore, in a literature open to difference. Esta pesquisa foi pensada sob a perspectiva da forma. A proposta aqui é analisar como Elena Ferrante, nos quatro romances que compõem a Série Napolitana (A amiga genial, História do novo sobrenome, História de quem vai e de quem fica e História da menina perdida), define as formas por meio de três elementos: a autoria, a narrativa e a teoria. Partindo da observação da tentativa obstinada de Lenu, a protagonista da Série Napolitana, de buscar uma forma sólida para si mesma em contraposição ao desaparecimento voluntário de Lila, a amiga narrada, que vai paulatinamente perdendo-se até sumir completamente. Na Série, a forma se destaca na relação entre elas ao mesmo tempo que demonstra sua intrínseca necessidade uma da outra. Além dos romances que compõem a série, para esta pesquisa o volume Frantumaglia: os caminhos de uma escritora foi fundamental, por se configurar em um arsenal de orientações interpretativas da própria autora para os leitores, o que pode ser compreendido como mais uma camada de elementos questionadores da instância autoral ao mesmo tempo que se beneficia dela. Partindo das concepções pós-estruturalistas de autoria (BARTHES, 2004a; FOUCAULT, 2011), do gesto do autor moderno (AGAMBEN, 2007) e de seu lugar como produtor de discurso (GUMBRECHT, 1998), procurou-se entender a posição da autora e o impacto na interpretação da obra. Também se investigou a função da experiência feminina para sair de um lugar subalterno e construir a si própria na literatura (PERROT, 2007), ao invés de ocupar o lugar de musa, para ser uma mulher que escreve e amplia a relação entre mulheres (CAVARERO, 2000) principalmente por meio da escrita (PINTO, 2020; TOLENTINO, 2020). E, por último, buscou-se analisar a tentativa de dar forma por meio da teoria crítica, uma vez que a autora apresenta conceitos de sua obra que permitem compreender o diálogo da ausência da autora e da personagem ausente que se desintegra com os conceitos desenvolvidos por Ferrante e que estão relacionados à própria condição feminina e agem como costura dos cacos dessas mulheres no processo de escrita. The present research was developed under the concept of form. Its goal is to analyze how, in the four volumes of her series the Neapolitan Novels (My Brilliant Friend, The Story of a New Name, Those Who Leave and Those Who Stay, and The Story of the Lost Child), the author Elena Ferrante will define form through three elements: authorship, narrative and theory. The main character in the series, Lenu, persistently tries to uncover a solid form for herself in opposition to the volunteer disappearing of Lila, the friend narrated in the stories, who gradually fades away until she is completely gone. In the series, their relationship highlights form while showing the deep need they have of each other. In addition to the series, this research relies on the volume Frantumaglia, a vast array of interpretative directions given by the author herself, a strategy that can be read as another layer of questioning of the authorial instance while also benefitting from it. By using the post-structuralist notions of authorship (BARTHES, 2004a; FOUCAULT, 2011), the modern author gesture (AGAMBEN, 2007) and the author’s place as discursive producer (GUMBRECHT, 1998), we aim to discern where the Italian author stands in relation to her work and its interpretation. Another focus of this investigation is the female experience of abandoning a submissive, muse-like place to build herself in literature (PERROT, 2007) as a woman who is both writing and widening the relationship between other women (CAVARERO, 2000), specially through the ability of narrating stories (PINTO, 2020; TOLENTINO, 2020). Lastly, we aim to grasp how the author managed to create fit these questions inside her own critical theory, since her fictional work offers us concepts which allow us to recognize a dialogue between the absence of the author and the absence of the character who disappears. These concepts developed by Ferrante are connected to the female condition itself and work in her process of writing as the thread uniting the shattered pieces of these women.
