Adequate monitoring of the EU transition toward sustainable food systems can promote policy coherence and provide better evidence for informed policy making. This paper presents an initial concept and methodology for an EU food system monitoring framework, integrating a systems’ perspective and key sustainability elements relevant to the EU context. Grounded in scientific evidence and extensive dialogues among scientific experts with interdisciplinary backgrounds, we define an EU food system sustainability model that provides a conceptual framework for monitoring. This model encompasses 12 thematic areas and 37 indicator domains, synthetized through a rigorous review of existing frameworks and the assessment of nearly 250 relevant indicators via a transparent workflow and an integrated collaborative digital tool. We identify data gaps that signal challenges ahead in effective monitoring, but also opportunities for research and cooperation. To advance with an EU food system monitoring framework, it is essential to engage in participatory processes with stakeholders, ensuring an inclusive and transparent approach.

Permethylated anigopreissin A (PAA), a fully protected form of the natural anigopreissin A, was found in our previous study to be active against several cancer cells, up to IC50 0.24 μM for HepG2 cells. Herein, a total of thirteen PAA analogues with variations in the number, position of substituents and unsaturation were synthesised starting from a common precursor, and their ability to induce cell growth inhibition was tested. By comparing the antiproliferative effect of the analogues with PAA and with the help of computational studies, we have gained valuable insights into both the biological activity and structure of this natural class of compounds. Indeed, we discovered the importance of the C-3 ring in modulating the biological activity of PAA, as well as the crucial role of the trans configuration of the styryl double bond and the significance of substitutions on the other parts of the molecule.

Gossip is an important part of adolescent development. Although gossip can be used for negative influence, it can also be used for positive relational purposes such as establishing norms and creating intimacy. Discerning the gossip sharer's motives is important for receivers to determine how to react. However, the lack of visual and tonal cues in online exchanges can create miscommunications and misunderstandings about gossip intentions. Research has not yet identified a theoretical framework that can address the added interpersonal challenges of sharing gossip in online settings (i.e., cybergossip). A theory to consider addressing this gap is "social presence theory" (SPT). This article will argue how SPT can provide a framework for understanding the motivations and needs of gossip sharers in online settings and explain how receivers can promote social presence and mitigate the spread of cybergossip.

Introdução: Com o passar dos anos, a prevalência de mulheres praticantes de musculação tem crescido por inúmeros motivos, dentre eles estão o emagrecimento e a estética. Muitas mulheres têm recorrido as práticas de dietas milagrosas prejudicando sua saúde, principalmente a intestinal, o que colabora para algumas doenças como a constipação. Objetivo: Avaliar o uso de probióticos na melhora da constipação intestinal de mulheres praticantes de musculação. Materiais e Métodos: Estudo de caráter longitudinal, duplo cego com utilização de placebo. Foi utilizado um questionário para identificar a constipação através dos critérios de ROMA III, recordatório 24 horas para conhecer a ingestão alimentar e classificação da escala de Bristol. Resultados: Foi encontrado diferença estatística no momento pré e pós suplementação na quantidade de evacuações por semana (p=0,026 e p=0,028, respectivamente). Para a análise pré e pós suplementação, na escala de Bristol, para o grupo suplementado com probióticos (p=0,020). Para as análises intragrupos, encontramos diferenças estatísticas para a análise pré na intensidade da dor ou desconforto abdominal ao evacuar (p=0,003). Para a análise pós na intensidade da dor ou desconforto abdominal ao evacuar (p=0,036). Para a análise pós no inchaço ou distensão abdominal (p=0,029). Para a análise pré e pós escala de Bristol para o grupo constipado e suplementado com probióticos (p=0,021). Conclusão: O presente estudo demonstrou que a suplementação com probióticos durante 4 semanas contribuiu para a modulação da microbiota intestinal de mulheres constipadas praticantes de atividade física.

The current study examined parental awareness of their child’s cyberbullying experiences in relation to the implementation of restrictive mediation strategies (e.g., interaction and technical restrictions) among children in elementary school and adolescents in high school. Canadian parent-child dyads (N = 102) completed a survey where parents reported their perceptions of their child or adolescent’s involvement in cyber aggression, cyber victimization, and witnessing cyber aggression, while children and adolescents (ages 8–16) reported their own experiences. Mean difference scores were calculated to examine parental awareness. The results showed that parents of children in elementary school underestimated their participation in cyber aggression, whereas parents of adolescents in high school overestimated their participation in cyber aggression. In addition, parents of adolescents who did not use restrictive mediation underestimated the extent to which their adolescent witnessed cyber aggression. Overall, this study highlights the importance of parenting practices and parental knowledge of negative online behaviour across childhood and adolescence.
