Abstract

La$_2$NiO$_4$ is a very promising cathode material for intermediate and low temperature solid oxide cell applications, due to its good electronic and ionic conductivity, together with its high oxygen exchange activity with a low activation energy. Oxygen incorporation and transport in La$_2$NiO$_4$ (L2NO4) thin films is limited by surface reactions. Hence, tailoring the morphology is expected to lead to an overall improvement of the electrode performance. We report on the growth of nano-architectured La$_2$NiO$_4$ thin film electrodes by Pulsed Injection Metal Organic Vapour Deposition (PI-MOCVD), achieving vertically gapped columns with multi-fold active surface area, leading to much faster oxygen exchange. This nano-columnar structure is rooted in a dense bottom layer serving as good electronic and ionic conduction pathway. The microstructure is tuned by modification of the growth temperature and characterised by SEM, TEM and XRD. We studied the effect of surface activity by electrical conductivity relaxation measurements in fully dense and nano-columnar La$_2$NiO$_4$ thin films of various thicknesses grown on several different single crystal substrates. Our results demonstrate that the increased surface area, in combination with the opening of different surface terminations, leads to a significant enhancment of the total exchange activity in our films with optimized nano-architectured microstructure.

Abstract

Global gridded data sets of observed extremes indices underpin assessments of changes in climate extremes. However, similar efforts to enable the assessment of indices relevant to different sectors of society have been missing. Here we present a data set of sector‐specific indices, based on daily station data, that extends the HadEX3 data set of climate extremes indices. These additional indices, which can be used singly or in combinations, have been recommended by the World Meteorological Organization and are intended to empower decision makers in different sectors with accurate historical information about how sector‐relevant measures of the climate are changing, especially in regions where in situ daily temperature and rainfall data are hard to come by. The annual and/or monthly indices have been interpolated on to a 1.875° × 1.25° longitude‐latitude grid for 1901–2018. We show changes in globally‐averaged time series of these indices in comparison with reanalysis products. Changes in temperature‐based indices are consistent with global scale warming, with days with Tmax > 30°C (TXge30) increasing virtually everywhere with potential impacts on crop fertility. At the other end of the scale, the number of days with Tmin < −2°C (TNltm2) are reducing, decreasing potential damage from frosts. Changes in heat wave characteristics show increases in the number, duration and intensity of these extreme events in most places. The gridded netCDF files and, where possible, the underlying station indices are available from https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/hadobs/hadex3 and https://www.climdex.org. Plain Language Summary: To be able to assess changes in extreme temperature and rainfall events across the globe, data sets which capture characteristics of these extreme events are required. The use of indices for these characteristics further enables both data sharing and the comparison of events across the world. Extreme events have impacts across human health, our infrastructure and the natural environment. So far there has not been a global product which presents indices which are relevant for different sectors of our society, including health, agriculture and water resources. In this work we present an extension to an existing data set of extremes indices, HadEX3, by including indices defined by the World Meteorological Organization which were developed with sector specific applications in mind. We have used the same approach and methodology, and where possible the same underlying daily temperature and rainfall observations. The temperature indices show changes consistent with global scale warming, with heat wave characteristics showing increases in the number, duration and intensity of these extreme events in most places. The data files are available for use by interested researchers in their work. Abstract

The possibility to fabricate freestanding single crystal complex oxide films has raised enormous interest to be integrated in next‐generation electronic devices envisaging distinct and novel properties that can deliver unprecedented performance improvement compared to traditional semiconductors. The use of the water‐soluble Sr3Al2O6 (SAO) sacrificial layer to detach the complex oxide film from the growth substrate has significantly expanded the complex oxide perovskite membranes library. Nonetheless, the extreme water sensitivity of SAO hinders its manipulation in ambient conditions and restricts the deposition approaches to those using high vacuum. This study presents a pioneering study on the role of Ca‐substitution in solution processed SAO (Sr3−xCaxAl2O6 with x ⩽ 3) identifying a noticeable improvement on surface film crystallinity preserving a smooth surface morphology while favoring the manipulation in a less‐restricted ambient conditions. Then, the study focuses on the effect of the sacrificial composition on the subsequent ex situ deposition of La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 (LSMO) by pulsed laser deposition, to obtain epitaxial films with a variable degree of strain. Finally, epitaxial and strain‐free LSMO membranes with metal‐insulator transition at 290 K are delivered. This study offers a hybrid and versatile approach to prepare and easily manipulate crystalline perovskite oxide membranes by facilitating ex situ growth on SAO‐based sacrificial layer. ilustraciones, gráficas Todos estos escritos gráficos sonidos letras símbolos son producto de provocaciones diálogos y roces entre materias que se encuentran en la vida y en la naturaleza. Las artes vivas es la interpretación natural de la vida con la vida, esta huella se conforma de letras relatos, acciones movimientos sonidos gestos, el músico que va por todo motivado por la palabra artista, mas allá de la singularidad de disciplinas, aquí busco establecer una forma, un método y una manera de hacer obras de arte con un proceso de investigación previo, utilizando la vida, la naturaleza y el mundo como materia de trabajo Soy testigo de una forma de vida, quiero contar mi interpretación de esta evolución crecimiento y apropiación de la vida desde un cuerpo diferente y extraño también con una mente temporal y espacialmente distintas Este proceso me ha llevado a reflexionar, valorizar y enaltecer mi cuerpo, mi cultura y mi territorio, tomando mi archivo como fuente de creación. Este trabajo busca mostrar una perspectiva diferente de la vida a partir de un ejemplo de extrañeza o diferencia, busca introducir al espectador en un mundo diferente pero que puede estar dentro de cada uno de nosotros, nos enseña a ubicar nuestra mirada en un lugar distinto, para percibir y proponer una opinión diferente, el sonido, el misterioso, indeterminado y siniestro sonido me acompaña y se convierte en la base de mi proceso de creación. Después de compartir casi la mitad de mi vida con un individuo cuyas características en relación con los demás es diferente, gracias a una condición cognitiva y física especial, este individuo único con su pensamiento, cuerpo y perspectiva única me condujo a indagar buscar y seleccionar materias, partes y acciones dentro del recuerdo y de un archivo familiar que desató el juego, la búsqueda y la realización de un deseo como motivo principal de este proceso. Vivir y crecer con un individuo diferente marcó mi perspectiva y mi forma de ver y hacer en el mundo, específicamente mi forma de desenvolvimiento como artista moderno, esta extraña forma de ver la vida estando al borde del fin de la existencia me dice mucho, me invita a sumergirme en este pensamiento, en esta visión, en esta perspectiva en esta forma de vida. Cada parte de este proyecto es un nivel o un espacio que hace parte de un todo, un todo que se fractaliza en partes cada vez más pequeñas hasta llegar al punto individual, ese pensamiento y sentir único que aporta una capa y que gracias al proceso de montaje se alinean e integran convirtiéndose en una masa, un cuerpo construido por muchas partes capas que son manejadas y conducidas o dirigidas por un cuerpo. The living arts is the natural interpretation of life with life, this trace is made up of letters, stories, actions, movements, sounds, gestures, the musician who goes through everything motivated by the word artist, beyond the singularity of disciplines, here I seek to establish a way, a method and a way of making works of art with a previous research process, using life, nature and the world as work material. I am a witness to a way of life, I want to tell my interpretation of this evolution, growth and appropriation of life from a different and strange body also with a temporally and spatially different mind. This process has led me to reflect, value and enhance my body, my culture and my territory, taking my archive as a source of creation. This work seeks to show a different perspective of life from an example of strangeness or difference, it seeks to introduce the viewer into a different world but that may be within each one of us, it teaches us to locate our gaze in a different place, To perceive and propose a different opinion, the sound, the mysterious, indeterminate and sinister sound accompanies me and becomes the basis of my creative process. After sharing almost half of my life with an individual whose characteristics in relation to others is different, thanks to a special cognitive and physical condition, this unique individual with his unique thought, body and perspective led me to inquire, search and select subjects , parts and actions within the memory and of a family archive that unleashed the game, the search and the fulfillment of a wish as the main motive of this process. Living and growing up with a different individual marked my perspective and my way of seeing and doing in the world, specifically my way of unfolding as a modern artist, this strange way of seeing life being on the edge of the end of existence tells me a lot, invites me to immerse myself in this thought, in this vision, in this perspective in this way of life. Each part of this project is a level or a space that is part of a whole, a whole that is fractalized into smaller and smaller parts until it reaches the individual point, that unique thought and feeling that provides a layer and that thanks to the process of assembly align and integrate becoming a mass, a body made up of many layered parts that are driven and driven or directed by a body. Abstract

The large electrocaloric coupling in PbZrO3 allows using high-speed infrared imaging for visualizing anti-ferroelectric switching dynamics via the associated temperature change. It is found that in ceramic samples of homogeneous temperature and thickness, switching is fast due to the generation of multiple nucleation sites, with devices responding in the millisecond range. By introducing gradients of thickness, however, it is possible to change the dynamics to propagation limited, whereby a single-phase boundary sweeps across the sample like a cold front, at a speed of ≈20 cm s−1. Additionally, introducing thermostatic temperature differences between two sides of the sample enables the simultaneous generation of a negative electrocaloric effect on one side and a positive one on the other, yielding a Janus-like electrocaloric response.

Pues la creación de una oficina turística en Túquerres estimula, promueve, planifica, armoniza, coordina y garantiza el desarrollo del pueblo, y como actividad económica involucra la participación del gobierno, para la cual se utilizó la metodología cuantitativa, utilizando la técnica de la observación, y la entrevista que nos dieron como resultado contar con un territorio dotado de un sinnúmero de atractivos con unas características inigualables y muy llamativas, considerándose así, no solo una gran oportunidad para la generación de recursos propios, sino también un pilar importante para impulsar el desarrollo económico y el progreso de la región. Entre los principales resultados cabe resaltar que existe voluntad para el desarrollo del turismo, pero esto solo se queda plasmado en diferentes planes, puesto que no terminan de realizarse. Destacan un gran número de recursos potenciales, sobre todo de temática cultural y natural, Mediante el análisis de estos puntos, se pueden establecer a futuro estrategias para identificar los problemas del turismo para poner en marcha las políticas apropiadas. Abstract The objective of creating an ecotourism office in the municipality of Túquerres is to generate economic, cultural and social development, taking into account that tourism is an economic activity that benefits a territory, becoming a generator of employment. For the creation of a tourist office in Túquerres stimulates, promotes, plans, harmonizes, coordinates and guarantees the development of the town, and as an economic activity involves the participation of the government, for which the quantitative methodology was used, using the observation technique. , and the interview that gave us as a result having a territory endowed with countless attractions with unmatched and very striking characteristics, thus being considered, not only a great opportunity for the generation of own resources, but also an important pillar to promote the economic development and progress in the region. Among the main results, it should be noted that there is a will for the development of tourism, but this is only reflected in different plans, since they do not finish. They highlight a large number of potential resources, especially cultural and natural themes. By analyzing these points, strategies can be established in the future to identify tourism problems in order to implement the appropriate policies.

Abstract

We present the second update to a data set of gridded land‐based temperature and precipitation extremes indices: HadEX3. This consists of 17 temperature and 12 precipitation indices derived from daily, in situ observations and recommended by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Expert Team on Climate Change Detection and Indices (ETCCDI). These indices have been calculated at around 7,000 locations for temperature and 17,000 for precipitation. The annual (and monthly) indices have been interpolated on a 1.875°×1.25° longitude‐latitude grid, covering 1901–2018. We show changes in these indices by examining ”global”‐average time series in comparison with previous observational data sets and also estimating the uncertainty resulting from the nonuniform distribution of meteorological stations. Both the short and long time scale behavior of HadEX3 agrees well with existing products. Changes in the temperature indices are widespread and consistent with global‐scale warming. The extremes related to daily minimum temperatures are changing faster than the maximum. Spatial changes in the linear trends of precipitation indices over 1950–2018 are less spatially coherent than those for temperature indices. Globally, there are more heavy precipitation events that are also more intense and contribute a greater fraction to the total. Some of the indices use a reference period for calculating exceedance thresholds. We present a comparison between using 1961–1990 and 1981–2010. The differences between the time series of the temperature indices observed over longer time scales are shown to be the result of the interaction of the reference period with a warming climate. Abstract

El presente trabajo de investigación titulado: “Factores que limitan el seguimiento de juicios por alimentos de los defensores públicos 2018; tiene por objetivo el determinar el factor preponderante que limita el correcto seguimiento de los juicios por alimentos, por parte de los defensores públicos del Ministerio de Justicia y Derechos Humanos en el año lectivo del 2018, en favor del público usuario de ese servicio. El tipo de investigación es descriptiva explicativa, no experimental y de enfoque cuantitativo; utilizando la técnica de la encuesta y los instrumentos de recolección de datos, fue un cuestionario, el cual fue validado por el juicio de tres expertos y para la confiabilidad de los instrumentos, se utilizó el alfa de crombach; arrojando 0.926, para la variable Factores que limitan el seguimiento de juicios por alimentos de los defensores públicos 2018. En la presente investigación, se concluyó que no existen diferencias en los indicadores de la dimensión Factor laboral en el seguimiento de los juicios de alimentos en la unidad de estudio. A la luz e los resultados, el indicador promueve el Factor Logístico (B=23,297), presenta mayor coeficiente y por ende aporta más a la dmensión seguimiento de juiciode alimentos, en la entidad objeto de estudio. Por otro lado se concluyó que, no existen diferencias en el Factor logístico en el seguimiento de los juicios de alimentos en la unidad de estudio. Es así que el indicador Falta de Personal (B=21,979), presenta mayor coeficiente y por ende se denota, que existen más factores en ese aspecto, que limitan el seguimiento de juicios por alimentos de los defensores públicos del Ministerio de Justicia y Derechos Humanos 2108. Abstract

This report explores the fundamental characteristics of epitaxial thin films of a mixed ionic electronic conducting GdBaCo2O5.5±δ (GBCO) material with a layered perovskite structure, relevant for use as an active electrode for the oxygen reduction and evolution reactions in electrochemical devices. Time-resolved X-ray diffraction in combination with voltage step chrono-amperometric measurements in a solid state electrochemical cell provides a deeper insight into the chemical expansion mechanism in the GBCO electrode. The chemical expansion coefficient along the c-axis, αc, shows a negative value upon the compound oxidation contrary to standard perovskite materials with disordered oxygen vacancies. Chemical expansion also shows a remarkable asymmetry from αc = −0.037 to −0.014 at δ ＜ 0 and δ ＞ 0, respectively. This change in chemical expansion is an indication of a different mechanism of the structural changes associated with the variable Co cation oxidation state from Co2+→ Co3+→ Co4+. Since redox reactions are dominated by oxygen surface exchange between the GBCO electrode and gas atmosphere, monitoring the time response of the structural changes allows for direct determination of oxygen reduction and evolution reaction kinetics. The reaction kinetics are progressively slowed down upon reduction in the δ ＜ 0 oxygen stoichiometry region, while they maintain a high catalytic activity in the δ ＞ 0 region, in agreement with the structural changes and the electronic carrier delocalization when crossing δ = 0. This work validates the time-resolved XRD technique for fast and reversible measurements of electrode activity in a wide range of oxygen non-stoichiometry in a solid-state electrochemical cell operating under realistic working conditions. Abstract

El ruido antropogénico generado por el tráfico de embarcaciones ha sido potenciado por el crecimiento demográfico de la región amazónica, y se ha convertido en una posible amenaza para la biodiversidad subacuática de los ecosistemas de agua dulce presentes en esta región. Uno de los organismos más sensibles a este tipo de perturbación son los delfines de río, los cuales dependen altamente del sonido para buscar su alimento y ubicarse en su entorno. Es por esto por lo que surge cada vez más la necesidad de identificar como el tráfico de embarcaciones puede estar relacionado con el comportamiento de los delfines de río. La presente investigación pretendió evaluar cómo el tráfico de embarcaciones podría estar influyendo en el comportamiento y la actividad acústica de dos especies de delfines de río (Inia geoffrensis y Sotalia fluviatilis). El estudio se realizó en la confluencia del río Amazonas con el río Loreto Yacu, desde un enfoque descriptivo analítico que empleó una metodología combinada implementando Métodos Acústico Pasivos (MAP) y una observación comportamental ad libitum. Se hallaron indicios de habituación por parte de los defines en los que no hubo respuestas significativas ante la presencia de embarcaciones, y una reacción variada ante los diferentes tipos de embarcaciones presentes en el área de estudio.

Abstract

El ser humano desde que nace se encuentra en constante peligro de arriesgar su vida cuando se encuentra expuesto ante factores que se salen de su control, la constante accidentalidad no puede ser excluida de las acciones que tarde o temprano sucederán en la vida cotidiana, y no es la excepción en la Zona Caribe de Colombia.• Objetivo: realizar un análisis de los índices de accidentalidad en las zonas críticas del caribe colombiano, se detectan las vías urbanas y las características de diseño de la infraestructura que inciden en siniestros viales, sus causas y frecuencias en las que se incurre en los últimos periodos anuales 2019-2020. • Método: Diseño Correlacional y Tipo experimental, se analizan 236 accidentes de tránsito ocurridos en los tramos de Santa Marta, Bolivar y Barranquilla • Resultados: en las zonas monitoreadas de la zona Caribe se tiene que la zona de mayores riesgos ocurren en la ciudad de Cartagena y el factor prevalente es el factor humano. • Conclusiones: Se concluye que la mortalidad y morbilidad en los accidentes de tránsito es controlable, que se puede hacer algo para mitigar las muertes y que actualmente sirve todo el esfuerzo que se hace estando la respuesta en el ser humano y que a través del cambio de este se puede lograr cualquier propósito Palabras Claves.
