- Abstract
The Global Consortium for the Classification of Fungi and fungus-like taxa is an international initiative of more than 550 mycologists to develop an electronic structure for the classification of these organisms. The members of the Consortium originate from 55 countries/regions worldwide, from a wide range of disciplines, and include senior, mid-career and early-career mycologists and plant pathologists. The Consortium will publish a biannual update of the Outline of Fungi and fungus-like taxa, to act as an international scheme for other scientists. Notes on all newly published taxa at or above the level of species will be prepared and published online on the Outline of Fungi website (https://www.outlineoffungi.org/), and these will be finally published in the biannual edition of the Outline of Fungi and fungus-like taxa. Comments on recent important taxonomic opinions on controversial topics will be included in the biannual outline. For example, 'to promote a more stable taxonomy in Fusarium given the divergences over its generic delimitation', or 'are there too many genera in the Boletales?' and even more importantly, 'what should be done with the tremendously diverse 'dark fungal taxa?' There are undeniable differences in mycologists' perceptions and opinions regarding species classification as well as the establishment of new species. Given the pluralistic nature of fungal taxonomy and its implications for species concepts and the nature of species, this consortium aims to provide a platform to better refine and stabilise fungal classification, taking into consideration views from different parties. In the future, a confidential voting system will be set up to gauge the opinions of all mycologists in the Consortium on important topics. The results of such surveys will be presented to the International Commission on the Taxonomy of Fungi (ICTF) and the Nomenclature Committee

- Abstract
The effects of Cr(III) and Cr(VI) species (Cr2O72−, CrO42− and Cr3+) on the growth of Escherichia coli (E. coli) have been investigated in detail by microcalorimetry at 37 °C. Parameters including the growth rate constant (k), inhibitory ratio (I), half-inhibitory concentration (IC50), total heat output (Qtotal), time of the maximum heat production (tlog) in the log phase have been obtained. The results showed that Cr(VI) and Cr(III) had the inhibition effect on the growth of E. coli in aquatic environment; however, the inhibitory ratio of Cr(III) to E. coli was smaller than that of Cr(VI). The k values of E. coli in the presence of Cr(VI) and at high concentrations of Cr(III) were decreased with increasing the concentrations of these chromium species. Among the three chromium species investigated, Cr2O72− was found to be the most poisonous species against E. coli with an IC50 value of 35.52 µg·mL−1. CrO42− exhibited moderate toxicity on E. coli with an IC50 of 50.24 µg·mL−1, and Cr3+ had the lowest toxicity with an IC50 of 84.30 µg·mL−1. Microcalorimetry can provide a convenient, sensitive and reliable method to study the effect of various metal species on the growth of bacteria or other microorganisms.

Joints are an important mechanical feature of rock masses. Their effect on wave propagation is significant in characterizing dynamic behaviors of discontinuous rock masses. An experimental study on wave propagation across artificial rock joint was carried out to reveal the relation between the transmission coefficient and the contact situation of the joint surface. The modified split Hopkinson pressure bar apparatus was used in this study while all the bars and specimens were norite cored from the same site. One surface of the specimens with a number of notches was adopted to simulate the artificial rough joint. Two strain gauges were mounted on each pressure bar at a specific spacing. The incident, reflected and transmitted waves across the joints were obtained using a wave separation method. Comparisons of the transmission coefficients were made under two different conditions: with the same joint thickness but different contact area ratios, and with the same contact area ratio but different joint thicknesses. The results show the effects of contact area ratio and thickness of joints on wave transmission.

As a key dynamic feature of the rock mass, joint results in wave attenuation when a stress wave propagates across it. An experimental study has obtained the relation between the transmission coefficient and the contact area ratio of joints with different thicknesses (Chen et al. (doi:)). However, the spatial geometry of the contact surface also determines the dynamic behavior of the discontinuous masses. Thus, the present study is focused on the effects of distribution and dimension of the sawn notches on the contact surface of the joint, which lead to the different spatial geometry. The joint matching coefficient (JMC) was used in this study to define the contact condition. Using a modified SHPB apparatus, all the bars and specimens were aluminum, and the artificial joint formed a rough surface of the specimen contacted to the output bar. Based on the wave separation method, the incident, reflected and transmitted waves across the joint were acquired from the records of the strain gauges on pressure bars. Then the transmission coefficient and specific stiffness of the joint were obtained. Comparisons of them were made on different JMCs, spatial geometries and thicknesses of the joint.

- Abstract
Deep geological disposal is considered to be the best option to isolate the high-level radioactive waste (HLW) from the biosphere. Heat generated from the waste in the repository will result in an increase in rock temperature and substantially change the stress state of the host rock surrounding a nuclear waste repository. For the safe design of a deep underground HLW repository, there has to be a systematic consideration of all thermal, hydrological and mechanical effects that could prejudice the integrity of the repository and its man-made and natural barriers in the short and long terms [1]. The Beishan area in Gobi desert in Gansu province is considered as the most potential candidate area for HLW geological repository in China [2]. A numerical investigation is conducted on the impacts of the thermal loading history on the evolution of mechanical response of a fractured rock mass containing a hypothetical HLW repository in Beishan. The geological data are extracted from the site investigation results at Jiujing section, Beishan area. The large-scale far-field analysis is conducted using FLAC2D for coupled thermo-mechanical process. The results show that the temperature distributions at different time scales and the thermal stresses of fractured rock masses vary significantly with mechanical properties determined at the representative scale. Vertical heaving and horizontal tensile displacement are observed above the repository. This study provides an important base for site selection and repository design of HLW repository in China. - Abstract
The reliability and validity of the Chinese version of the 17-item Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (CHDS) was assessed. Interrater reliability was excellent, the item total-score correlations were good, and the internal reliability was satisfactory. The concurrent validity was tested by correlating the CHDS score with the Global Assessment Scale score; the strong negative correlation found indicated that the CHDS reflects the overall level of disability. Five distinct factors were generated by principle-component analysis; these factors account for 52.4% of the total variance. Rigorous evaluation of the numerous translated scales being used in clinical and research settings of non-Western countries is important.
