In this study, a gamification process was implemented in an undergraduate course of Economics that consisted 397 students. The primary purpose of the research was to empirically validate the effects of gamification in terms of the variables of engagement, motivation, entertainment, perceived relevance of the course, knowledge increase and participation. To ascertain these, a questionnaire was administered to the participants. The results indicated that gamification provided significant positive effect on all variables listed above except motivation. Additional objectives of the article were to link the effects to Marczewski's player types, namely, Philanthropists, Socialisers, Free spirits, Achievers, Players, and Disruptors, and to measure whether there are differences between the types in terms of the variables indicated above. Gamification resulted in positive effects on all player types except the player type of Disruptors.

Sustainable development seeks to strike a balance between economic growth, social well-being and environmental protection. It should be integrated into financial development as well. As a consequence, banks are realising changes in their roles, decision-making, and operations. This paper aims to introduce a structured literature outlook about the different interpretations of sustainable financial development (SFD) on micro and macro levels. The literature mapping is focusing on three main contexts. The basic assumption of the paper is that it is crucial to emphasise the importance of country-level economic growth, the indicators used to determine the level of financial development and the resilience of the financial intermediary actors. As a consequence, the paper represents some existing results in terms of these three contexts. This gives the future basis for the efficient interpretation of sustainable financial development aspects in the operation and the decision-making processes of financial institutions and also for policy-making institutions on the macro-level. A tanulmány kiinduló témaköre a Camagni-féle területitőke-koncepció által értelmezett endogén jellegű regionális potenciálok. Átfogó célja az innovatív keresztben felsorolt tőkeértékek szemléltetése a városi környezetben tevékenykedő vállalkozói rétegben. A területi tőke a területi versenyképességet leíró fogalom, amellyel a regionális kutatások elmúlt időszakában több nemzetközi és hazai szerző is foglalkozott. A területi tőkével kapcsolatos elemzések egy lehatárolt terület speciális értékeit értelmezik. A tanulmány gyakorlati részében a győri járműipari körzetben működő vállalkozásokat érintő felmérés eredményeit mutatjuk be. A mérés módszere egy pilot jellegű kérdőíves felmérés volt. Ennek során Győr fejlődése szempontjából olyan következtetések bontakoztak ki, amelyek további kutatása támpontokat adhat a jövőben tervezett városfejlesztési akciókhoz. Ezek az eredmények a tulajdonosi hálózatokról, a tudásteremtésről és az innovációt célzó együttműködésekről számolnak be. A tanulmány azt vizsgálja, hogy ezekben – a sok esetben immateriális jegyeket hordozó – témakörökben miként jelennek meg a Camagni által értelmezett tőkeértékek. A tanulmány három fő részre bontható. Az elméleti háttér foglalkozik a területi tőke komponenseinek elméleti osztályozásával és összegyűjti az ezzel kapcsolatos főbb megállapításokat, kritikákat. A második részben a területitőke-mátrix innovatív keresztjében elhelyezkedő tőkecsoportokat értelmezzük, és ezen belül azon komponenseket emeljük ki, amelyeket a gyakorlati kutatás keretében tovább lehet vizsgálni. A harmadik rész a győri kutatás kapcsolódó eredményeit dolgozza fel.

Egy terület gazdasági szerkezetének vizsgálatában és területi tőkéjének összetételében a magán- és állótőke mérése a területi hatások megfigyelése szempontjából fontos. Győr város fontos feladata a gazdaság történelmi múltra építő működésének fejlesztése. A tanulmány az Audi Hungaria Motor Kft. Győr város gazdasági környezetébe való beágyazódását foglalja össze. Kiemelem azokat a vállalati tulajdonságokat, melyek hatással vannak Győr életére, hangsúlyozom a vállalati adottságokat, az innovatív törekvéseket (logisztika, társadalmi felelősségvállalás). Fejezetenként tárgyalom a gazdasági környezet azon jelenségeit, folyamatait, melyek a vállalat jelenlétéből adódóan a városi és a nemzetgazdaságra jelentős hatással vannak. Ezek a regionális gazdaság számára fontos hatásmechanizmusokat képeznek, melyek szem előtt tartása fontos lehet a város hosszú távú területi fejlődésében. A tanulmány öt részre bontható. Az általános vállalati bemutatás után a letelepedési és az utóbbi évek terjeszkedési folyamatait kiemelve bemutatom a helyi munkaerőre gyakorolt hatásokat. Ezután a logisztikai folyamatok szabályait és a beszállítói hálózat szilárdságát vizsgálom, így körüljárom a helyi vállalkozásokra, különösen a beszállítói hálózatban működő helyi vállalkozásokra gyakorolt hatás kérdéskörét. A következő részek a város közvetlen gazdaságfejlesztő szerepvállalását, valamint a vállalat helyi gazdaságot és társadalmat érintő törekvéseit mutatják be.

Knowledge of whether, and over what range of output, there are economies or diseconomies of scale in providing local communal services is an important question from a theoretical, practical and regional political point of view. The theoretical side of the question is connected to the primary research regarding the optimal city size. If an optimal city size can actually be established, then a valid policy argument can be made for fostering its approximation. However, theoretical considerations are sometimes based on those types of assumptions, which are often not valid in reality. Therefore, empirical investigations are essential in this research area. After a short theoretical overview, the paper initially gives a general outline of previous controversial empirical evidence on economies of scale regarding community size and the provision of local communal services. In the second part, the empirical findings are presented; these concern economies of scale in local communal services based on a large and detailed database, which consist of almost 300 Hungarian settlements. During the research, a number of methodological questions have occurred. For example, there are several solutions for the organisational structure providing local services, from a large holding to the smaller individual companies. Considering this and some other issues, the main results suggest that on a community level, there are moderate economies of scale in water supply, sewage disposal and district heating and a moderate diseconomy of scale in refuse collection until 5 thousand inhabitants. Above this level there is no connection between the settlement size and the average cost of services. The results are mainly consistent with the previous findings: there are economies of scale under a certain threshold, but after this, unit cost reduction is not feasible.
