Araştırmanın amacı uzaktan eğitim öğretim sürecinde uygulamalı sanat derslerine yönelik akademisyen görüşlerini tespit etmektir. Araştırma nicel ve nitel araştırma yaklaşımlarının bir arada kullanıldığı karma yöntem araştırma desenlerinden yakınsayan paralel desen yaklaşımına göre yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Üniversitelerin Güzel Sanatlar Eğitimi Bölümleri, Güzel Sanatlar Fakülteleri ve Güzel Sanatlar Tasarım ve Mimarlık Fakültelerinde görev yapan, araştırmaya gönüllü olarak katılan ve uygulamalı sanat derslerini yürüten toplam 70 akademisyen oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen “Uzaktan Eğitim Öğretim Sürecinde Uygulamalı Sanat Derslerini Değerlendirme Anketi” kullanılmıştır. Nicel veriler, aritmetik ortalama, standart sapma ve frekans değerleri verilerek, nitel veriler ise Dey’in (1993) betimleme, sınıflandırma ve ilişkilendirme olmak üzere üç aşamalı modeline göre analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçları, uzaktan eğitim sürecinde teknolojik araç gereçlerin, materyallerin, etkinliklerin, yöntem ve tekniklerin kullanımı ya da öğrenci motivasyonunun sağlanması gibi konularda akademisyenlerin gereken yeterliğe sahip olduklarını göstermiştir. Ayrıca uzaktan eğitim sürecinin yüz yüze eğitime göre, sanatsal farkındalık yaratma konusundaki etkililiğinin daha düşük olduğu, uygulamalı sanat dersleri açısından öğrencilere katkı sağlama konusunda yetersiz kaldığı, uzaktan eğitim sürecinde uygulamalı sanat dersleri açısından öğrencinin sanatsal gelişiminin atölye ortamına göre gözlemlenmesinin daha zor olduğu ve öğrenme ortamının olanakları açısından uygulamalı sanat derslerinin uzaktan eğitim sürecine uygun olmadığı sonuçlarına ulaşılmıştır. Bu sonuçlar ışığında Covid-19 salgını dolayısıyla artan uzaktan eğitim talepleri nedeniyle üniversitelerin, öğrenci ve eğitimci etkileşimini sağlayacak teknolojik alt yapı imkanlarını arttırması ve eğitimcilerin öğrenme ortamının verimliliğini ve öğrenci motivasyonunu sağlayacak yenilikçi yaklaşımları sanal öğrenme ortamlarına aktarmaları önerilmektedir. The aim of the research is to determine the views of the academicians about applied arts lessons in the distance education teaching process. The research was conducted according to the convergent parallel design approach, which is one of the mixed method research designs in which quantitative and qualitative research approaches are used together. The study group of the research consists of 70 academicians working in the Fine Arts Education Departments, the Fine Arts Faculties and the Fine Arts, Design and Architecture Faculties of the Universities, participating voluntarily in the research and conducting applied art classes. In the research, the "Applied Art Lessons Evaluation Questionnaire in the Distance Education Teaching Process" developed by the researchers was used as a data collection tool. Quantitative data were analyzed by giving arithmetic mean, standard deviation and frequency values, and qualitative data were analyzed according to Dey's (1993) three-step model of description, classification and correlation. The results of the research showed that the academicians have the necessary competence in the subjects such as the use of technological tools, materials, activities, methods and techniques or providing student motivation in the distance education process. In addition, the distance education process was found to be less effective in creating artistic awareness than faceto-face education, and it was insufficient to contribute to students in terms of applied art lessons. It was concluded that the artistic development of the student is more difficult to observe than the workshop environment in terms of applied art lessons in the distance education process, and the applied art lessons are not suitable for the distance education process in terms of the possibilities of the learning environment. According to these results, due to the Covid-19 epidemic, universities should increase the technological infrastructure opportunities that will ensure student and educator interaction. In addition, it is recommended that educators transfer innovative approaches that will ensure the efficiency of the learning environment and student motivation into virtual learning environments.

The use of screens by children and adolescents has been increasing in the last two decades, including mobile devices and interactive and social platforms. At present media exposure affects even young children and is part of their daily routine. Although there are benefits of media use for children, including educational potential, there are concerns about their overuse, especially in early childhood, during the crucial period of brain development. Data from national and international studies, reveal that COVID-19 pandemic- related restrictions, lockdowns and stay-at- home orders contributed to a remarkable increase in screen time (ST) in pediatric ages. The authors present a literature review on the repercussions of COVID-19 pandemics on the use of digital media, the associated risks and its impact on different health domains. Scientific evidence associates excessive use of digital media with physical, neurodevelopmental and mental adverse consequences. Excessive ST has been associated with obesity, sleep disturbance, language delay, impaired executive functions, general cognition and mental health, namely anxiety and depression.There are evidence-based recommendations to promote healthy screen habits for children and their families in order to mitigate the adverse effects of screen use. Increased ST in children and youth during the COVID-19 pandemic is a public health concern demanding policy-level interventions to promote accessible outdoor facilities for recreational and physical activities offering active and social alternatives to screens, to improve the mental and physical well-being of children and adolescents., O uso de ecrãs por crianças e adolescentes tem vindo a aumentar nas últimas duas décadas, incluindo o uso de dispositivos móveis e plataformas interativas e sociais.Embora haja benefícios do uso dos ecrãs, incluindo potencial educativo, existem também preocupações sobre o seu uso excessivo, especialmente em crianças mais novas, durante o período crucial do seu desenvolvimento cerebral.Dados de estudos nacionais e internacionais revelaram que as medidas de isolamento relacionadas com a pandemia COVID-19 contribuíram para um aumento considerável no tempo de ecrã (TE) em crianças e adolescentes.Os autores tiveram como objetivo fazer uma revisão acerca da literatura científica sobre o modo como pandemia de COVID-19 alterou o uso dos meios digitais, os riscos associados e o impacto nos diferentes domínios da saúde.Evidência científica crescente associa o uso excessivo dos media a consequências adversas para saúde, tanto físicas como neurodesenvolvimentais e mentais. O tempo de ecrã (TE) excessivo tem sido associado a efeitos na saúde física, como obesidade, distúrbios do sono, atraso na linguagem, funções executivas, cognição geral e saúde mental, nomeadamente ansiedade e depressão.Existem recomendações baseadas na evidência para promover hábitos saudáveis ​​de uso dos ecrãs para crianças e suas famílias, a fim de mitigar os seus efeitos adversos.O aumento do TE em crianças e adolescentes durante a pandemia COVID-19 é uma preocupação de saúde pública e exige intervenções ao nível das políticas de promoção da acessibilidade a espaços ao ar livre para atividades recreativas e físicas que ofereçam alternativas apelativas, contribuindo para o seu desenvolvimento saudável.

The birth of the internet provided consumers with an entirely new experience in terms of acquiring information, comparing items or prices, and the ability to make purchases through the use of the internet. As a result, consumer behavior is an important factor for marketers/ online sellers. To predict online shopping buying behavior, Online sellers must first understand how Filipino youth behave online especially now that we're experiencing this Covid- 19 pandemic situation. This paper aims to investigate studies conducted by some researchers in order to determine what online shopping consumers utilize at different stages of the buying decision process. This research will also help researchers better understand why and how online shopping consumers make purchasing decisions during pandemic. This research paper investigated the impact of Covid-19 pandemic on Filipino youth’s buying behavior towards online shopping.

The current pandemic has brought a lot of social and economic strains to families worldwide, as well as making a huge impact on the long- term care of companion animals. The current study explored differences in the attachment level of owners toward their pets and their perceived stress before and during the pandemic in China. The questionnaire, besides demographic information, included a modified version of the Companion Animal Bonding Scale (CABS) and the original form of the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS). A total of 261 questionnaires were collected. The respondents did not show any significant differences in attachment level toward their companion animals before and during the pandemic, nor in relation to the type of pet (dog or cat). The study showed that when pet owners experienced emotional difficulties such as perceived stress/anger and lack of control, the attachment toward their pets was compromised, indicated by an increase of the negative aspects of the bond. These factors also were positively associated with the pandemic and with strict and medium levels of lockdown. Moreover, the pet owners were more likely to sleep with their companion animals when they felt a higher perceived lack of control, and this behavior was higher in women than in men. On the other hand, attachment toward the pets increased when there was more than one animal in the household, and when the respondents had difficulties in providing food supplies to their companion animals. It is critical to understand how companion animals might affect the lives of their owners during times of crisis, in order to provide people with suitable support and to avoid animal abandonment.

Bu araştırmada, COVID-19 pandemisi öncesindeki geleneksel yüz yüze eğitim, pandemi sırasındaki uzaktan eğitim ve tekrar yüz yüze eğitime dönüş sürecinde Türkçe öğretmenlerinin eğitim-öğretime dair alışkanlıkları incelenmiştir. Eğitim-öğretim alışkanları Türkçe temel dil becerileri, ders materyalleri, yöntem ve teknikler, geri bildirim gibi değişkenlerle sınırlandırılmıştır. Her bir değişken üçlü süreç (pandemi öncesi yüz yüze eğitim-pandemi sırası uzaktan eğitim-yüz yüze eğitime dönüş) üzerinden karşılaştırmalı olarak incelenmiştir. İnceleme ile her bir değişkenin pandemiden önceki yüz yüze, pandemi başlangıcındaki uzaktan eğitim ve yüz yüze eğitime dönüş aşamalarında tercih edilme oranlarını görmek mümkün olmuştur. Araştırmanın amacı, yeniden yüz yüze eğitime geçişte pandemi öncesi alışkanlıklara geri dönülüp dönülmediğinin ve yeni bir pandemiye ne kadar hazırlıklı olunduğunun ortaya çıkarılmasıdır. Bu amaçla araştırmada nitel araştırma yaklaşımlarından iç içe geçmiş tek durum deseni kullanılmıştır. Bu doğrultuda uzaktan eğitim öncesi, uzaktan eğitim ve yüz yüze eğitime geri dönüş sürecinde Türkçe derslerinin işlenişine yönelik öğretmen görüşlerini almak için araştırmacılar tarafından yarı yapılandırılmış bir görüşme formu hazırlanmış ve görüşmeler Google Formlar aracılığıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu “maksimum çeşitlilik örneklemesi” yoluyla belirlenen 35 Türkçe öğretmeni oluşturmuştur. Yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu ile toplanan araştırma verileri içerik analizine tabi tutularak kodlanmış ve ulaşılan bulgular yorumlanmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda uzaktan eğitimden yüz yüze eğitime geri dönüşte en fazla geri dönüş okuma saati uygulamasının yeniden yapılmasında, ders kitabındaki yazma etkinliklerinin tekrar uygulanmasında ve ders materyali olarak çalışma kâğıtları ile yardımcı kitaplarının pandemi öncesindeki sıklıkta kullanılmasında yaşanmıştır. Süreçte herhangi bir değişim göstermeyen alışkanlık ise konuşma becerilerindeki konuşma etkinliklerine ayrı bir saat ayrılmaması ve konuşma becerileri için herhangi bir etkinlik uygulanmamasında yaşanmıştır. Bununla birlikte okuma metninin sesli okunması ve ders kitabının da ders materyali olarak kullanılması da değişmeyen bir alışkanlığımız olarak öne çıkmıştır. Uzaktan eğitimden yüz yüze eğitime dönüşte en az değişim EBA’nın geri bildirim vermede kullanılmasında ve çevrim içi sözlük kullanılmasında yaşanmıştır. Uzaktan eğitimde artan EBA ve çevrim içi sözlük kullanımı yüz yüze eğitime geri dönüşte de devam etmiştir. In this study, the educational habits of Turkish teachers were examined in traditional face-to-face education before the COVID19 pandemic, distance education during the pandemic, and the process of the return to face-to-face education. Educational habits are delimited to variables such as basic Turkish language skills, course materials, methods and techniques, and feedback. Each variable is examined comparatively through the triple process (face to face education before the pandemic-distance education during the pandemic-back to face to face education). With the examination, it has been possible to see the preference rates of each variable in the face-to-face before the pandemic, distance education at the beginning of the pandemic, and the return to face-to-face education stages. The aim of the research is to reveal whether the pre-pandemic habits are returned to face-to-face education and how prepared we are for a new pandemic. For this purpose, single-case embedded design, one of the qualitative research approaches, was used in the research. Accordingly, a semi-structured interview form was prepared by the researchers in order to get the opinions of teachers about the teaching of Turkish lessons before distance education, during the distance education and process of return the face-to-face education, and the interviews were conducted through Google Forms. The study group of the research consisted of 35 Turkish teachers determined through "maximum variation sampling". The research data collected with the semi-structured interview form were subjected to content analysis and coded and the findings were interpreted. As a result of the study, returning from distance education to face-to-face education the highest returning rate was experienced in re-applying return to reading time, re-implementing the writing activities in the coursebook, and using the worksheets and study aids as course materials at the frequency before the pandemic. The habit that did not show any change in the process was experienced in not allocating a separate hour for speaking activities in speaking skills and not applying any activities for speaking skills. In addition to this, reading the reading text aloud and using the textbook as a course material has also come to the fore as constant habits. The least change in the return from distance education to face-to-face education was experienced in the use of EBA to give feedback and the use of an online dictionary. The increasing use of EBA and online dictionary in distance education continued in the return to face-to-face education.

Pod pojmom vanjskotrgovinsko poslovanje podrazumijevamo razmjenu dobara i usluga na globalnoj razini, kada su poslovni subjekti iz različitih država odnosno pravnog kruženja. Ulaskom Republike Hrvatske u EU 1. srpnja 2013., Hrvatska je postala 28. država članica čime je otvoreno novo poglavlje u vanjskoj trgovini. Europska Unija jedno je od najotvorenijih svjetskih gospodarstava čije je jedno od temeljnih načela slobodna trgovina među državama članicama. Ukidanjem carinskih granica među zemljama članicama omogućava se lakši pristup tržištu koji broji više od 500 milijuna korisnika, što je od izrazite važnosti građanima iz više razloga: uspješniji plasman hrvatskih proizvoda i usluga na međunarodnom tržištu (europskom i svjetskom), snižavanje cijena i poboljšanje kvalitete domaćih proizvoda i usluga pod pritiskom tržišne konkurencije EU-a, te opsežniji asortiman uvoznih proizvoda i usluga. Pritom je vrlo važno razviti dobar carinski sustav, kako bi carina i dalje služila kao izvor financija i dodatna zaštita domaće proizvodnje, te kako bi uspješno pratila međunarodne trendove. U radu će se prikazati važnost carina i carinskih postupaka u gospodarstvu jedne države, a kao glavni cilj rada biti će analiziran jedan od carinskih postupaka – carinsko skladištenje robe. Pritom će se pojasniti definicija i vrste carinskog skladištenja, postupak podnošenja zahtjeva i izdavanje odobrenja, evidencija i smještaj robe na carinskom skladištu, te propisi vezani uz samo skladištenje. Vanjska trgovina doživljavakontinuirani porast od početka razdoblja snažne digitalizacije budući da je pojava interneta učinila proizvode i uslugelakše dostupnima na međunarodnom tržištu. Usprkos tomu, gospodarskakriza izazvana širenjem pandemije virusa COVID-19, ostavila je negativne posljedice na međunarodnu trgovinu. U okviru ovog rada će se prikazati utjecaj pandemije na vanjsku trgovinu Republike Hrvatske., The term foreign trade business means the exchange of goods and services on a global level, when business entities are from different countries or legal circles. With the accession of Croatia to the EU on July 1st 2013, Croatia became the 28th member state., thus opening a new chapter in foregin trade. The European Union is one of the world's most outward-oriented economies, with one of the fundamental principles being free trade between member states. The abolition of customs borders between member states provides easier access to a market of more than 500 million users, which is extremely important for citizens since it allows for a greater choice of imported products and services and lower prices and better quality of domestic products and services under competitive pressure, as well as more successful placement of Croatian products and services on the European and world market. It isvery important to develop a good customs system, so that customs continue to serve as a source of finance and additional protection of domestic production, and to successfully follow global trends. This report will present the importance of customs and customs procedures in the economy of a country, and as the main objective of this work one of the customs procedures will be analyzed - customs warehousing. The definition and types of customs warehousing, the procedure for submitting applications and issuing permits, records and placement of goods in a customs warehouse, as well as regulations related to warehousing itself will be clarified. Foreign trade has experienced a continuous increase since the beginning of the period of strong digitalization as the advent of the Internet has made products and services more easily available on the international market. Nevertheless, the economic crisis that arose due to outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, has had negative consequences on the international trade. This report will present the effects of the pandemic on the foreign trade of the Republic of Croatia.

This work was developed in the Doctoral Course of the Graduate Program in Education at the Universidade Federal de Santa Maria, in the line of research “educational public policies, educational practices and their interfaces - LP2”. This is a study within the scope of Youth and Adult Education (EJA), with an emphasis on youth school trajectories and the social relevance of the modality as a space for schooling students with age/grade gaps before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. The guiding question of this research was: how do the school trajectories of young students develop in the transition from regular-time education to Youth and Adult Education? It had the general objective of analyzing the school trajectories of young students in the transition from regular-time education to Youth and Adult Education. To achieve it, the following specific objectives were proposed: to discuss public policies for the area of education regarding EJA and youth; to identify the profile of students who attend Elementary School at EJA in two municipal schools in Alegrete/RS; to comprehend the processes that lead the elementary school student to the Education of Youth and Adults on a regular basis through their school trajectories, and to understand how the school education of these students was conducted during the pandemic period of 2020. Qualitative-quantitative research of social analysis of the case study type was carried out. The subjects were EJA Elementary School students enrolled in two municipal schools in Alegrete, located in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The data collection instruments used were a closed questionnaire and a semi-structured interview. Additionally, documentary research was used to structure aspects related to important legislation and quantitative data for the design of the studied panorama. The data obtained through the mentioned methodological instruments was treated from the qualitative textual analysis, developed by Moraes (2003) and Moraes and Galiazzi (2006; 2016). To support the theoretical discussions proposed here, I discussed with Paulo Freire (2018; 2017; 2001; 2000; 1999; 1987; 1985), Miguel Arroyo (2017; 2014; 2013), José Machado Pais (1993; 1990), Juarez Dayrell (2016; 2007; 2006), Raewyn Connell (2006), François Dubet (2020; 2015; 2007; 2005; 2004), Gimeno Sacristán (2017; 2016; 2013), Roque Moraes (2003; 2006; 2016), among other authors positioned in the socio-critical perspective. Through this study, it was possible to reveal that EJA, as it is organized, does not contribute to the social and educational demands of the present, nor does it collaborate in the construction of projects for the future of youths. Additionally, it indicates the difficulty of youths in age/grade gap to find adequate space within the schooling process available in the researched context. El presente estudio fue desarrollado en el curso de Doctorado del Programa de Posgrado en Educación de la Universidade Federal de Santa Maria, en la línea de investigación políticas públicas educacionales, prácticas educativas y sus interfaces – LP2. Es un estudio acerca de la temática de la Educación de Jóvenes y Adultos, con énfasis en las trayectorias escolares y la relevancia social de la modalidad de enseñanza comprendida como un espacio de escolarización de estudiantes con retraso en la relación edad y curso académico antes y durante la pandemia de COVID-19. La pregunta orientadora de esta investigación ha sido: ¿De qué manera se desarrollan las trayectorias escolares de jóvenes estudiantes en la transición de la enseñanza regular hacia la Educación de Jóvenes y Adultos? Se ha tenido como objetivo general de hacer un análisis de las trayectorias escolares de jóvenes estudiantes en la transición de la enseñanza regular hacia la Educación de Jóvenes y Adultos. Para lograr este objetivo fueron propuestos los siguientes objetivos específicos: discutir las políticas públicas educacionales direccionadas a EJA y las juventudes; identificar el perfil de los estudiantes que frecuentan la primaria de la EJA en dos escuelas municipales de Alegrete/RS; conocer los procesos que conducen los estudiante de la enseñanza regular hacia la Educación de Jóvenes y Adultos a través de sus trayectorias escolares; y comprender como fue conducida la educación escolar de estos estudiantes durante el periodo pandémico de 2020. Fue realizada una investigación cualitativa y cuantitativa de análisis social de tipo estudio de caso. Los sujetos fueron estudiantes de Primaria de la EJA de dos escuelas municipales de Alegrete, ubicadas en el sur de Brasil, Rio Grande do Sul. Los instrumentos de recogida de datos utilizados fueron un cuestionario con preguntas cerradas y entrevista semiestructurada. Además, se utilizó la investigación documental para guiar los aspectos referentes a la legislación y datos cuantitativos importantes para el diseño del panorama estudiado. Los datos obtenidos a través de los instrumentos metodológicos mencionados fueron tratados a partir de análisis textual cualitativa propuesta por Moraes (2003) y Moraes e Galiazzi (2006; 2016). Para apoyar las discusiones teóricas propuestas, fue desarrollado diálogo con Paulo Freire (2018; 2017; 2001; 2000; 1999; 1987; 1985), Miguel Arroyo (2017; 2014; 2013), José Machado Pais (1993; 1990), Juarez Dayrell (2016; 2007; 2006), Raewyn Connell (2006), François Dubet (2020; 2015; 2007; 2005; 2004), Gimeno Sacristán (2017; 2016; 2013), Roque Moraes (2003; 2006; 2016), entre otros autores con en una perspectiva socio-crítica. A través de este estudio fue posible revelar que la EJA, de la manera que está organizada, no contribuye con las demandas sociales y educacionales del presente, tampoco colabora en la construcción de proyectos futuros de los jóvenes. Más aún, indica la dificultad del joven en retraso edad/curso académico encontrar un espacio adecuado en el proceso de escolarización disponible en el contexto investigado. Este trabalho foi desenvolvido no curso de Doutorado do Programa de Pós-graduação em Educação da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria, na linha de pesquisa: políticas públicas educacionais, práticas educativas e suas interfaces - LP2. Trata-se de um estudo no escopo da Educação de Jovens e Adultos, com ênfase nas trajetórias escolares juvenis e na relevância social da modalidade enquanto espaço de escolarização de estudantes com defasagem idade/série antes e durante a pandemia de COVID-19. A questão norteadora desta pesquisa foi: de que maneira se desenvolvem as trajetórias escolares de jovens estudantes na transição do ensino em tempo regular para a Educação de Jovens e Adultos? Teve o objetivo geral de analisar as trajetórias escolares de jovens estudantes na transição do ensino em tempo regular para a Educação de Jovens e Adultos. Para atingi-lo, foram propostos os seguintes objetivos específicos: discutir as políticas públicas para a área da educação referentes à EJA e às juventudes; identificar o perfil dos estudantes que frequentam o Ensino Fundamental da EJA de duas escolas municipais de Alegrete/RS; conhecer os processos que levam o estudante do Ensino Fundamental em tempo regular para a Educação de Jovens e Adultos através de suas trajetórias escolares; e compreender como foi conduzida a educação escolar destes estudantes durante o período pandêmico de 2020. Foi realizada uma pesquisa quali-quantitativa de análise social do tipo estudo de caso. Os sujeitos foram estudantes do Ensino Fundamental da EJA matriculados em duas escolas municipais de Alegrete/RS. Os instrumentos de levantamento de dados foram o questionário fechado e a entrevista semiestruturada. Adicionalmente, recorreu-se à pesquisa documental para balizar aspectos referentes à legislação e a dados quantitativos importantes para o panorama estudado. Os dados obtidos foram tratados a partir da análise textual qualitativa, desenvolvida por Moraes (2003) e Moraes e Galiazzi (2006; 2016). Para sustentar as discussões teóricas aqui propostas, dialoguei com Paulo Freire (2018; 2017; 2001; 2000; 1999; 1987; 1985), Miguel Arroyo (2017; 2014; 2013), José Machado Pais (1993; 1990), Juarez Dayrell (2016; 2007; 2006), Raewyn Connell (2006), François Dubet (2020; 2015; 2007; 2005; 2004), Gimeno Sacristán (2017; 2016; 2013), Roque Moraes (2003; 2006; 2016), dentre outros autores posicionados na perspectiva sociocrítica. Através deste estudo, foi possível revelar que a EJA, tal qual está organizada, não contribui nem com as demandas sociais e educacionais do presente, nem colabora na construção dos projetos de futuro dos jovens. Adicionalmente, indica a dificuldade do jovem em defasagem idade/série encontrar um espaço adequado no processo de escolarização disponível no contexto pesquisado.

Background COVID-19 pandemic has negatively impacted stroke care services at multiple levels. There was a decline in acute stroke admissions. Fewer interventions have been performed. Increased “door-to-needle times and “door-to-groin puncture” during this pandemic. These factors combined have led to declining in the favoured outcomes of stroke patients' globally. Yet this pandemic permits an opportunity for higher preparedness for future pandemics. Objectives and methods This paper aims to shed light on the main lessons learned in the field of stroke care during the first wave of COVID-19 pandemic. Here we are presenting proposals and initiatives for better preparedness in future similar emergencies. These proposals are based primarily on literature review of COVID-19 publications, as well as the first-hand experience gained during the first wave at the regional level. In addition to the consensus and collective ride of stroke experts in the Middle East North Africa Stroke and Interventional Neurotherapies Organization (MENA+-SINO) and interaction and collaboration with international stroke specialists from the Stroke World Organization (WSO), European Stroke Organization (ESO) and stroke and COVID-19 papers authors. Conclusion Stroke care is very complex, particularly in the initial hours after onset of symptoms. A successful outcome requires very close collaboration between clinical personnel from multiple specialties. Preparedness for future pandemics requires the improvement of care plans that allow for rapid assessment of stroke patients and ensuring that regular ‘mock exercises’ familiarize quintessential services that care for the stroke patients.

The COVID‐19 pandemic, with necessary measures such as social distancing, has significantly affected people’s habits, and psychological wellbeing. This directly impacts individuals suffering from Bipolar Disorder, since they depend on a well‐balanced routine, regular sleeping hours, and sparse psychological stress, in order to prevent relapses. In this clinical care piece, we discuss Emotion Regulation strategies to help patients deal with the heightened psychological distress inflicted by the current pandemic.
