This article analyses the media discourse about Islamophobia in Spain. Specifically, an overview of all the appearances of the term in four Spanish newspapers (ABC, El Mundo, El País, and La Vanguardia) is provided with the aim of finding out when the term was first used and became standard language. The study also demonstrates the links with the public interest and identifies the ideological and terminological attitudes in the discourse of each newspaper. The corpus includes 1475 news articles since the first reference (in 1987) to the term Islamophobia and May 2022, which were quantitatively examined in two steps. While the first was manual and served to document the historical background, the second allowed us to monitor the media content by means of Sketch Engine. Furthermore, the searches for the term "islamofobia" in Google Trends from Spain were also reviewed. The main findings show that both terrorist attacks in Western countries and the controversies surrounding freedom of speech are key to the emergence and normalisation of the concept, particularly since 2015. However, the interest of each newspaper differs, with El País covering the topic most frequently. This left-wing newspaper offers some notable variations in terminology as well. While the three right-wing newspapers consistently relate Islamophobia to threat, the vocabulary used in El País underpins the victimisation of the Arab-Islamic population. According to the Sketch Engine analysis, the usual terms that occur in combination with Islamophobia are racism, terrorism, violence, hate, anti-semitism, and xenophobia. The present study has the objective of knowing the perception of teachers who work remotely in relation to work stress. 119 professors who worked in person and had to migrate to the distance modality were surveyed, the Scale of Occupational Stress for Mexican Doctors by Hernández, Ortega & Reidl (2012) was applied and adapted for the present study. In the findings, the teachers do not consider that they have a good remuneration. 35% are not satisfied with the working conditions, the lack of motivation is low, so they need to implement measures so that they feel motivated to do their work from home. They also consider that you are overworked. Stress is the product of the experiences that are presented to each individual and depends on the resources they have to face these demands that could cause negative consequences. Introduction: This article evaluates the coverage of the Egyptian Revolution in ABC, El Mundo, El País and La Vanguardia, between January 2011 and December 2013, with the goal to investigate if there was Islamophobia and how it manifested itself. Methods: The study is based on the examination of the units of analysis that present Islamophobia through a system of deductive or predefined frames, and inductive frames, which emerge from reading the texts. Specifically, 428 journalistic pieces are examined through an analysis of quantitative content, and twenty-two editorials based on a qualitative content analysis. Results and conclusions: The results reveal that Islamophobia, when it does appear, does so in a subtle way. Moreover, it concentrates as much on political Islamism as on discourses that subscribe to the incompatibility between Islam and democracy, or the backwardness and homogeneity of the Arab-Islamic world with respect to Western superiority. La población magrebí ha sido uno de los colectivos inmigrantes más numerosos en el territorio español desde finales del siglo XX, lo que ha motivado que posea una notable representación en sus medios de comunicación. Por ello, este trabajo ha tenido como objetivo examinar el tratamiento de las informaciones publicadas sobre la población magrebí y los aspectos teóricos del binomio framing-mundo araboislámico en los periódicos de tirada nacional y regional en España durante la crisis. Para llevar a cabo el estudio, se empleó una metodología mixta basada en el análisis de contenido cuantitativo y cualitativo. El análisis concluye que el frame más habitual es el de interés humano, aunque se ofrezca una representación negativa de este colectivo, un hecho que puede derivar en actitudes y discursos críticos con lo araboislámico. The Maghreb population has been one of the largest groups of immigrants in Spain since the end of the 20th century. This has led to a noteworthy representation in the Spanish media. By focusing on national and regional newspapers during the economic crisis in Spain, the paper aims at examining the treatment of the Maghreb population and certain theoretical aspects of binomial framing of the Arab-Islamic world. A mixed methodology based on quantitative and qualitative analysis of content was used to carry out this study. The analysis concludes that the most common frame is human interest, although a negative representation of this group is offered, a fact that may lead to critical discourse and attitudes towards the Arab-Islamic world.
