This article compares surveillance-related experiences and attitudes of two generations of media users in countries with different historical surveillance regimes (Estonia, Portugal, and Sweden) and analyzes the predictors of the attitudes toward contemporary surveillance. A large-scale online survey (N = 3221) reveals that attitudes toward online state and corporate surveillance are interrelated; the two attitudinal components are, however, generation-specific, having different predictors. Tolerance toward state surveillance is more characteristic of the older group, being predicted by trustful and obedient attitudes toward state authorities and institutions. Tolerance toward corporate dataveillance is more characteristic of the younger group, being predicted by active and self-confident media use. While the socio-historical context molds the intergenerational gaps in surveillance-related experiences and attitudes, individual-level experiences of state surveillance do not predict tolerance toward either type of contemporary surveillance, suggesting that global techno-cultural developments are probably more powerful factors than past experiences in forming generation-specific attitudes. While the progress of the knowledge economy is inexorable, this paper argues that partisan politics and labor market institutions can affect the direction in which the knowledge economy progresses. In particular, a combination of corporatist industrial relations systems and left partisanship tends to foster greater wage restraint, and such a wage outcome tends to encourage the greater adoption of communications technology than information-processing technology in the economy. This reorientation of the knowledge economy toward communications technology, in turn, has egalitarian distributive implications. In particular, the greater adoption of communications technology reduces wage inequality across the board in lower 90–10, 50–10, as well as 90–50 wage ratios. We examine the effect of state corporate income tax rate changes on firms' liquidity management. Using a difference-in-differences design, we find that firms hold more cash when they are experiencing an increase in state corporate income tax rate. More specifically, on average, a 1 percent increase in state corporate income tax rate leads to a 2.51 percent increase in firms' average cash holdings. We also find that the effect is stronger in firms with low and risky cash flows, more growth opportunities, and more financial constraints. We find no evidence of this relationship when the state corporate income tax rate decreases. Overall, these findings suggest that firms conserve more cash to mitigate tax-induced frictions, which is consistent with the precautionary motive of cash holdings. Corporate actors in capitalist food systems continue to consolidate ownership of the means of production in ever fewer hands, posing a critical barrier to food sovereignty and to an agroecological transition. Further, corporate influence on the state is often direct and blatant, but there are also more insidious governance barriers– hegemonic structures of power and 'common sense' theories of value that exclude smallholders and local communities from participation in decision-making processes. This is especially pertinent in land use planning and in building processing facilities, usually referred to as 'value chain infrastructure', or what I call the 'intrinsic infrastructure of agroecology'. Using a case study approach, I evaluate the successes and failures of two campaigns for agrarian reform in the Australian state of Victoria, concluding that civil society must act collectively to gain the thick legitimacy needed to work with the state to enact enabling policies for an agroecological transition. Corporate social responsibility (CSR) reporting is a communication channel between companies and stakeholders. As the literature has largely been confined to exploring privately-owned enterprises, state-owned enterprises (SOEs)—a typical example of public sector organizations—warrant further investigation. This study examines SOEs' accountability structures and reporting features, which are dominated by state owners and mainly driven by non-financial objectives. Through a content analysis of the CSR reports of 49 SOEs and 111 non-SOEs in China, we analyze the stakeholders and CSR domains involved in the reporting. The findings demonstrate that SOEs disseminate the full coverage of stakeholders and a wider scope of CSR domains in disclosure. We extend the debate on CSR-reporting research by demonstrating how state ownership influences hybrid organizations' self-expression and accountability frame through our finding of a distinctive specialized sub-organization with strong ties to the state that drives CSR internally. Through a hauntological frame, this article investigates how the ghosts of colonial pasts are re-emerging in India's national universal biometric identity system, Aadhaar, and a software infrastructure built on top of it, India Stack. It shows how Aadhaar and India Stack facilitate the extraction of data as a form of 'data colonialism.' Examining data colonialism through an enquiry of how the multifarious and unstable relations of colonialism are bound up with the extractive processes of digital data, the article uses a historical approach considering the shifting trajectories of identity ecologies in India to see what is dispossessed through Aadhaar and India Stack. In doing so it continues a trend in spectral writing – forcing an intervention between colonial pasts and presents. Detailing a specific chronology of events, the article reveals how 'data relations' have been co-produced by the Indian state and corporate fintech bodies over the last decade to coerce populations into a 'digital financialisation.' What explains the exponential growth of the number of nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) in China during the recent decades? Moving beyond the extant literature that focuses on the strategic relationship between NGOs and the local state, this article argues that the growth can be also attributed to the central state which has focused on the promotion of different types of NGOs throughout time. The proactive role of the central state has become more conspicuous under the Xi Jinping administration where the party‐state plays a more active role in maneuvering the growth of a service‐oriented third sector. This adaptive strategy has led to the counterintuitive phenomenon of an increase in institutional space for NGOs in authoritarian China, especially the social service‐oriented NGOs in recent years. Purpose: The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) framework emerged as a guidepost for the transition to sustainable development. To achieve this transition, companies are encouraged to integrate these goals into their business strategies, processes and corporate reporting cycle. The purpose of this paper is to review and critique the corporate SDGs reporting literature, develop insights into the state of this research field and identify a future research agenda. Design/methodology/approach: Using a structured literature review (SLR) methodology, the paper reviews 65 empirical papers published in this field to identify how the current research is developing, offers a critique and identifies future research avenues to advance this field. Findings: Corporate SDGs reporting is developing as a research area of great importance. The findings reveal that current SDGs reporting literature lacks theorisation, overly focusses on publicly listed companies and succinctly describes organisations' engagement with the SDGs as superficial. Surprisingly, regions such as North America, the UK and other emerging economies have received less attention from scholars. Further, only a few authors have specialised in this field, and there currently exists low levels of international collaborations among authors as well as practitioners. Research limitations/implications: The paper provides a novel contribution to the emerging field of corporate SDGs reporting. The key theoretical implications from this study's SLR include the need for more interventionist research. Although there is an increasing number of accounting scholars developing research within this field, the prevailing research is concentrated on corporate SDGs engagement, drivers of SDGs reporting and scope of SDGs reporting. Furthermore, the scientific discourse remains largely under-theorised with positivist framings primarily focussed on the "what" questions. Thus, a modification to the current approaches and research methods is necessary to advance this field further. Practical implications: The study provides practitioners with valuable insights into the current state of corporate reporting on the SDGs. To achieve more substantive engagement and reporting, a deeper understanding of the factors that influence corporate behaviour and disclosure practices is necessary. In particular, the study identifies new opportunities for practitioners to enhance the value relevance of corporate SDGs reporting. Originality/value: The paper offers a comprehensive structured review of the empirical papers published on corporate SDGs reporting. It contributes to deepening this nascent research field by identifying five distinct areas where accounting and business scholars may focus to advance the field further and contribute to achieving the SDGs agenda. This study of Danish and Dutch work and welfare policies since the Great Recession questions the dominant picture of trade unions as being too weak and irrelevant for tripartite regulation. The frequency of tripartite agreements has not decreased, and social partners are still able to obtain important concessions. In addition to well‐described resources, the article shows that trade unions and employers' organizations offer governments financial resources and access to workplaces in political exchanges, which helps explain corporatist resilience. While the disproportionate power of corporate and state fossil fuel interests to influence energy and climate policy is now well known, questions remain about the groups that enthusiastically consume such narratives, with far-reaching political consequences. Fossil fuel workers are one such group. Their positions within these debates are highly relevant to policy outcomes, yet their political positions are often assumed to oppose decarbonizing the economy to the detriment of otherwise well-intended interventions. We offer a more nuanced understanding of the sentiments of fossil fuel workers invoked through their public and political engagements. We use the Twitter profiles of 160 self-identified oil and gas workers to explore the nature of oil workers' masculinity and its implication in climate obstruction and far-right politics. We advocate for engaging workers in the energy transition through meaningful collaboration with workers to build trust and investment in a shared future narrative. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Prior consultation purports to mitigate socio-environmental conflict risks by creating deliberative and democratic spaces for local communities to influence decisions over newly proposed mining projects. Yet, many contest state and corporate claims to fair and inclusive decision-making, insisting that mines are often approved in violation of their human rights. Using a critical political economy of environmental governance approach, we analyze the multilevel governance regime which informs the practice of prior consultation within the global mining industry. We argue that this regime has become 'captured' by mining interests, as evidenced by the 'market-enabling' procedures which restrict communities' capacity to exercise self-determination. Furthermore, we suggest that this leaves some local groups with little choice but to engage in risky protest action to express opposition. We utilize the Brazilian and Peruvian mining sectors as illustrative vignettes, for which data were collected from extensive fieldwork in both countries. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Young people around the world are creating their own spaces, strategies, and politics for climate action. In this article we explore the everyday informal politics of climate activism by youth from Aotearoa New Zealand's largest city (Auckland). We examine how young people, frustrated by the lack of global and domestic political inertia, are operationalizing their concerns about climate change into actions in their daily lives directed at mitigating their greenhouse gas emissions. Through a relational qualitative approach, we document the contradictory standing of youth, specifically as agentic actors and environmental citizens, who are aware of and seeking climate action through multiple modes of action including protesting, eco-consuming, influencing others, and eco-caring work. Our youth participants reported how their participation in various forms of climate activism helped to reduce their eco-anxiety and made them more hopeful about their collective abilities to address climate change. Our participants highlighted a hopeful view that their small-scale individual actions will collectively add up to large-scale changes at a systemic level. However, they were highly aware of and critical of state and corporate actors attempts to shift responsibility for taking actions to mitigate climate change onto individuals. Rather than situating themselves solely as eco-consumers engaging in eco-friendly purchasing practices, our youth participants narrated their sometimes contradictory climate actions (protesting, buy-cotting or boycotting, changing how they used goods, and services) as acts of resistance against the socio-economic status quo (high-carbon, neoliberal, and capitalist) that could act as trigger points for wider change. In this article we identify the various methods by which young people are participating in daily climate politics and demonstrating their agency, which are evident in their diverse pro-environmental-oriented and climate mitigation actions; all of which is evidence of how youth are seeking to be good climate citizens. The article "Who Benefits from State Corporate Tax Cuts? A Local Labor Market Approach with Heterogeneous Firms: Further Results" by Juan Carlos Suárez Serrato and Owen Zidar examines the impact of local business tax cuts on different stakeholders. The authors use a model to estimate the benefits received by firm owners, workers, and landowners. Their findings suggest that firm owners bear about half of the incidence, while workers and landowners bear 25-40% and 10-25% respectively. The article provides detailed identification results and discusses variations in the estimates. The study concludes that firm owners benefit from state corporate tax cuts. Big Data offers opportunities and challenges in all aspects of human life. In relation to research ethics, Big Data represents a normative difference in degree rather than a difference in kind. Data are more messy, rapid, difficult to predict, and difficult to identify owners; but the principles of informed consent, confidentiality, and prevention of harm apply equally to digital data. Recognition that technologies are not inherently value neutral, and that data collection, aggregation, and their use in decision making can both create and intensify inequities and harms is central to applying these principles. Data justice extends concern with voice and authenticity into the digital domain. Universities act as gatekeepers to professional accreditation in fields including software engineering. The relation between academic freedom of enquiry, state and corporate interests in the Big Data age raises important questions about power and control in the academy, which have governance implications. Fragmentation in health systems leads to discontinuities in the provision of health services, reduces the effectiveness of interventions, and increases costs. In international comparisons, Germany is notably lagging in the context of healthcare (data) integration. Despite various political efforts spanning decades, intersectoral care and integrated health data remain controversial and are still in an embryonic phase in the country. Even more than 2 years after its launch, electronic health record (elektronische Patientenakte ; ePA) users in Germany constitute only 1 per cent of the statutorily insured population, and ongoing political debates suggest that the path to broader coverage is fraught with complexities. By exploring the main stakeholders in the existing (fragmented) health system governance in Germany and their sectoral interests, this paper examines the implementation of ePA through the lens of corporatism, offering insights based on an institutional decision theory. The central point is that endeavours to better integrate health data for clinical care, scientific research and evidence-informed policymaking in Germany will need to address the roles of corporatism and self-governance. The article presents the discussion on varying perspectives on corporatism in Mexico, tracing its economic origins linked to presidentialism and industrial society. Topics include discussed by Arnaldo Córdova and echoed by Ilán Bizberg and Alberto Aziz in their views on state-controlled syndicates; and historical complexities, state-syndicate dynamics, and political agency within Mexico's authoritarian framework.

Using 2009 to 2020 data for Chinese A-share listed firms in Shanghai and Shenzhen, we examine how much state ownership in firms is most conducive to improving corporate innovation quantity and quality. Our results are as follows: First, state ownership enhances corporate innovation by alleviating financing constraints (resource availability) but inhibits corporate innovation by weakening risk-taking (innovation willingness) and increasing agency costs (resource efficiency), leading to an inverted U-shaped relationship between state ownership and corporate innovation. Second, the percentage of state ownership that maximises innovation quality differs from that of maximising innovation quantity. State-owned enterprises (SOEs) can choose an appropriate state-ownership structure according to the actual situation in the mixed-ownership reform process. Third, non-state-owned shareholders' control right negatively moderates the inverted U-shaped relationship between state ownership and innovation quantity but do not significantly moderate the inverted U-shaped relationship between state ownership and innovation quality. Fourth, foreign direct investment (FDI) negatively moderates the inverted U-shaped relationship between state ownership and innovation quantity and quality. Our findings reveal the impact of state ownership on corporate innovation and its transmission path, providing empirical evidence for optimising the ownership structure based on a corporate innovation perspective in the process of SOE mixed-ownership reform. Numerous corporate and state processes have long underpinned harms related to human trafficking and exploitation. A consequence of these processes has been a growing interest in how public and private sector organisations co-operate to address key challenges, including accountability for alleged exploitation. The purpose of this article is to examine these public-private sector dynamics in the Finnish construction industry, with a particular emphasis on how stakeholders respond to challenges associated with human trafficking, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and the 'grey economy'. The core argument developed is that despite a strong regulatory framework in Finnish construction, significant aspects of corporate compliance rely on companies' voluntary efforts, whereby public sector authorities can have competing views of solutions to address trafficking and exploitation. The article investigates how the narrative that speaks of large-scale mining (LSM) by multinational companies as a pathway to development is formed and sustained. The promotion of capitalism as a mode of production, in general, and for the profit of multinational companies, in particular, is legitimised by a positively connoted notion of 'development'. This builds on modernisation theory and complies with the neoliberal paradigm. By using Burkina Faso as a case study, this article demonstrates how the said narrative draws on a storyline of artisanal and small-scale mining (ASM) as dangerous, unorganised, and uncontrolled, constructed by state and corporate actors, and supported by some non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to legitimise the expansion of LSM. It illustrates that the narrative is efficacious as it is supported by a variety of actors that are able to pursue their interests by promoting LSM as a pathway to development: for the companies and state authorities it fulfils the function of legitimising the expansion of LSM; for the NGOs, it enables them to raise funds. Moreover, the analysis reveals that the narrative promotes certain policies and, therewith, excludes others and thus social reality, e.g. the establishment of institutions. The recent mobilization by living wage movements and unions to raise minimum wages have put the issue of low-wage work at the center of political debates in several countries. To study the position of political parties on this issue, we use electoral manifestos from 18 western democracies from 1990 to 2019. The results show that left-wing parties mention much more often the issue of low-wage work than right-wing parties, especially in countries with a weak degree of corporatism. The different categories of respectively left- and right-wing parties are quite similar in their mentions of low-wage work issues. However, ecologist parties mention low-wage work issues less often than other left parties and radical left parties tend to make broad criticisms of low-wage work more often than center-left parties. This article situates ongoing debates about the governance policies of Archive of Our Own (AO3) in the context of the ideological tradition of technoliberalism, which links internet technologies with liberal ideals such as freedom of speech and individual choice. While often seen as a movement of the mid-2000s which swiftly gave way to straightforward corporatism, technoliberalism survives as a popular discourse in the AO3 debates, where popular rhetoric incorporates liberal defences of free speech and individual choice. Modern technoliberal arguments have developed in response to their critics, emphasizing individualistic content controls as an opportunity for self-expression and as protection from a historical tradition of censorship in fandom spaces. The paper asks for the contribution of growth models for the explanation of public sector employment relations in Germany. The paper is subdivided into three parts. The first elaborates on long-term developments as well as forms of employment. The second part analyzes wage setting systems, that is, bilateral collective bargaining for employees and unilateral decision-making for civil servants. Xi Jinping's renewal of authoritarianism in the People's Republic of China (PRC) highlights the way in which patterns of repression change over time. Xi's effort to reinvigorate party rule hearkens back to earlier periods of repression but has not reached levels common during the early years of the PRC. This pattern holds for the regulation of religion in the PRC. This article considers the PRC's management of religion, in particular Christianity, over the past seven decades. Whilst authoritarianism has taken diverse characteristics, one permanent feature of government repression in the PRC is the pursuit of state corporatist management of religion. Mainstream literature on global value chains (GVCs) and global production networks (GPNs) has increasingly demonstrated how the state and political conjunctures play a central role in strategic coupling. Nonetheless, scholarly attention still remains on the role of firms and their strategies. By focusing on firms, GVC and GPN scholars often underestimate the influence that non‐firm actors such as the state have on strategic coupling, especially concerning its negative development implicationsits "dark side". To contribute to this literature, this article proposes an approach and research agenda to examine how processes of corporate capture evolve via strategic coupling. This approach is based on the interplay of three variables: the strategic selectivity of states; the strategic action of firms; and states' predominant mode of insertion into GPNs. Purpose: Green transition is a long-term direction of corporate development that can achieve sustainable corporate development. This study aims to investigate whether state ownership promotes corporate green transition by mitigating managerial myopia and the impact of environmental regulations, internal controls and ownership on this pathway. Design/methodology/approach: Using data from 2,608 Chinese listed companies for 2010–2019, the authors investigate the relationship between state ownership, managerial myopia and corporate green transition by using fixed-effects and moderated mediation models. Findings: State ownership can boost green transitions and alleviate managerial myopia. Managerial myopia mediates the relationship between state ownership and corporate green transition. Furthermore, environmental regulations, internal controls and ownership moderate the mediating effects of managerial myopia. Originality/value: The authors construct a multidimensional green transition index to examine the influence of state ownership on corporate green transition behavior and reveal the underlying mechanism by which state ownership promotes green transition by "mitigating managerial myopia." The dominant role of the authoritarian state in Chinese volunteerism has been noted but little examined in the scholarly literature. This study illuminates the ways in which the Chinese state controls and administers volunteerism and volunteering through a detailed analysis of the governance of volunteering in Beijing. Drawing on participant observation, interviews and archival research, we analyse how Beijing administers volunteering and its structures through the work of its administrative authority for managing volunteering in regulation and public policy, management structure, resources, internal operations, monitoring and evaluation. We argue that Beijing has built a comprehensive apparatus to manage and control volunteering through a Party- and state-controlled, multi-layered and centralized management structure. However, this state corporatist structure carries within it the seeds for over-formal controls and conflicts between official, professional service providers and the increasing number of volunteers throughout Chinese society. Background: The relevance of the topic lies in its examination of the state of development of corporate social responsibility (CSR) in Azerbaijan. Corporate social responsibility refers to the ethical and responsible behavior of companies towards society and the environment. Aims: The purpose of this study is to analyze the state of development of corporate social responsibility (CSR) in Azerbaijan and to propose methodologies for the design of a unified policy for the implementation and development of the CSR concept. Material & Methods: In this work, the study was conducted in the realities of Azerbaijan. Analysis can be considered the main method used in the study; other methods include induction, benchmarking, and forecasting. Results: The researchers analyzed the state of development of corporate social responsibility in Azerbaijan. Discussion: The results of the analysis demonstrate that there are specific initiatives from the state, enterprises, and society in the country at the moment, but they are not yet enough to achieve significant results in this field of research. In Suárez Serrato and Zidar (2016), we estimate the incidence of state corporate taxes. Malgouyres, Mayer, and Mazet-Sonilhac (2023) highlight two errors, ignoring effects on firm composition and characterizing capital costs inconsistently. This reply corrects the structural model and corresponding incidence estimates. The incidence results are similar to the originally reported estimates and the confidence intervals widen for some estimates. In the corrected structural model, the firm owner incidence share estimate changes by 1.6 percentage points relative to the original version (i.e., 38.1 percent versus 36.5 percent). This article provides a holistic account of the deep-rooted structural harms permeating contemporary society, offering theoretical and philosophical analysis of how such harm occurs, and how it is supported and sustained. Context is supplied so as to assess the ways in which profit and power are a primary focality of contemporary societal structures, at the expense of human security. By providing contextual analysis, it assesses the current political, economic, and societal climate and how human insecurity is a by-product of such. Critically considering how profit-driven policies exist within this setting, it offers a critical consideration of how power dynamics create a disparity between social, state and corporate actors and their subjective (il)legal proceedings. One of the first theoretical instruments to understand the Dutch socio-political life was ‘pillarization’. It was Arend Lijphart who developed the former into ‘consociationalism’ to applying to all societies in a generic sense. A third related concept is ‘corporatism’. All three concepts are characteristic for the Dutch political historical development. All three instruments have played important roles in the social-historical processes in the emancipation of minority groups and in the building of a national identity. This article views the Turkish socio-political processes and how it applies to the Turkish public, political life and culture. The research aims to identify the most promising regulatory and marketing tools for business risk management in the COVID-19 crisis and develop recommendations for improving the practice of these tools from a post-pandemic perspective. This paper is devoted to the scientific search for answers to two research questions: RQ1: What tactical tools of business risk management are most effective in the COVID-19 crisis? RQ2: How to carry out strategic risk management of the business from a post-COVID perspective? The authors perform dataset modeling of business risks in the COVID-19 crisis and data analysis of the post-pandemic perspective of managing these risks, relying on data for 2016–2023, reflecting international experience in a representative sample. The key conclusion of this research is that the most complete and effective business risk management in times of COVID-19 crisis requires the integrated application of tools of state and corporate governance, that is, two-tier management: At the state and business levels. On this basis, the authors recommended applying the systemic approach to business risk management in times of the COVID-19 crisis, which includes a set of the most effective regulatory (financial support from the state budget and protectionism) and marketing (use of big data and analytics) tools of business risk management. The practical significance of the research results is that the recommended systemic approach to using regulatory and marketing tools can improve the effectiveness of tactical and strategic risk management in the COVID-19 crisis, thereby increasing business resilience to this crisis. The novelty is due to the fact that we selected the most effective tools of business risk management under the conditions of the COVID-19 crisis and proved the necessity to combine the tools of state and corporate management, which are substantiated, for the first time, not as mutually interchangeable, but complementary practices of risk management in the unique context of the COVID-19 crisis. This text, marking the 60th anniversary of gisics, revisits certain facets of an institutional history bearing upon the emergence of modernity in Portuguese social sciences. Focusing on the analytical contributions of Adérito Sedas Nunes - the main protagonist behind gis' foundation - the article elaborates on the transition from corporatism to sociology, a path that reflects the gradual maturation of a certain approach to the obstacles that hindered the development of Portuguese society and the ways to overcome them. The 60th anniversary of gis-ics constitute, therefore, a fitting occasion to recognize its historical importance and its consensual status as an institution of reference in Portuguese social sciences. The proposals are based on an analysis of the current state and methodologies of corporate risk management with an emphasis on management according to internationally recognized ISO 3100X standards and their revision, as well as the requirements of revised ISO standards for quality management, environment, safety, etc. related to risk management. The Deming cycle (Plan-DoCheck-Act) of continuous improvement is a methodological tool for building a management system, whether for a partial aspect or integrated, which greatly facilitates the integration process. Significant support for the integration of management systems is a unified element structure of the latest revisions of ISO standards according to Annex SL for quality ISO 9001, environment, ISO 14001, occupational health and safety ISO 45001, information security ISO 27001, but also others. When implementing management systems according to these standards, it is recommended to use the latest ISO standard 31000: 2019 Risk Management - Guidance in connection with the management of individual risks. Although this standard does not have a 10-chapters structure according to Annex SL as well as other standards, it is fully integrated into the system. It has 6 chapters and chapters 4. Principles, 5. System, 6. The process contains recommendations that can be integrated with the requirements of the chapters of the ISO standards for environmental management, quality, safety and health at work, health and safety, information security. The identification and evaluation of aspects of impacts and risks is an input to building management systems of an organization according to internationally recognized standards, whether for partial aspects or an integrated system. The most important aspects impacts and risks, whether technical, economic, environmental, safety, information and others are reflected in the management system in policies and objectives. In this context, it is useful to draw up a Register of Aspects, Impacts and Risks for organizational processes, and if it is an integrated management system, an integrated register is needed. As part of our research, a generally applicable guide to the preparation of a more exact integrated register was proposed as a basis for building an integrated management system. The register form includes 10 columns with their specification and quantification and was applied in the operating conditions of the Vojany thermal power plant in the implementation of the quality and environmental management system according to the relevant international standards. At the end of the paper, the presented solution specifies possible benefits from the implementation of an integrated management system built according to internationally recognized ISO standards. The article presents a dossier on economic elites and political power in Latin America. It emphasizes the importance of understanding the nature and dynamics of these elites in their specific spatiotemporal context. It is mentioned that Latin American elites have attempted to appropriate the wealth produced in the region, but have been conditioned by economic, political, and military relations with the major centers of accumulation. Additionally, it is noted that these elites have had a high capacity to pressure and take control of state apparatuses in their respective countries. The article also mentions the different dimensions of power exercised by these elites, such as economic, ideological, political, military, and transnational networks. Although information on elites in Latin America is limited, the growing academic interest in studying these elites in recent years is highlighted. The article presents different lines of study on economic elites and their relationship with the state, the right-wing, and the political space in Latin America. It also addresses resistance to tax payment and corporate capture of the state. Two specific articles are mentioned that analyze the trajectories of agents in the Mexican leadership elite and the connections of agents who financed the Center for Public Studies in Chile. Other articles explore the relationship between economic guilds and bureaucracies in Colombia, as well as the perceptions of the business community in Córdoba regarding taxes in Argentina. Numerous states have altered the sales factor weight in their corporate income tax (CIT) apportionment formulas. We are among the first to examine which political and economic factors are important in determining whether and when states manipulate sales factor weights. We apply survival model techniques to a panel of state-level data for the years 1985−2012. Our most striking result is that a higher CIT rate is associated with faster movement to a higher sales factor weight. Perhaps indicating that, for economic development, states use sales factor manipulation in lieu of reducing CIT rates broadly, or alternatively, that states raise sales factor weights to compensate for higher statutory CIT rates. Results also indicate that stronger growth in the CIT base and in non-corporate tax revenues hasten sales factor weight increases. The purpose of this research is to provide an overview of state governance for corporate social responsibility (CSR) in the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). A systemic literature review method is employed to collect 88 relevant publications, and a qualitative coding method is used to identify 98 governance instruments from those publications. These are grouped into 13 themes and then examined within three conceptual models. The findings reveal that most of the instruments are geared towards ethical expectations, internal and external social responsibility, raising awareness, and socio‐economic development. The findings are then explored within four theories. The results suggest that CSR governance in the GCC is at a moderate to high level of bureaucratization; reflects Islamic identity, national development targets, and business accountability; is between the stages of habitualization and objectification; and relies mostly on normative pressures. Investments in education and retraining, or research and development have become essential in today's knowledge‐intensive economies. While private actors often underprovided such knowledge‐based capital due to various market failures, there is also considerable variation in the extent to which governments invest in knowledge‐based capital due to cross‐sectional and intertemporal trade‐offs. I argue that in trying to account for this variation, corporatist institutions are a neglected but crucial factor. By necessitating and facilitating cooperation and compensation, corporatism creates a more collaborative style of policy making and a sense of common ownership of policy problems that helps overcome the trade‐offs associated with investments in knowledge‐based capital. Using within‐between mixed‐effects models on a novel time‐series‐cross‐sectional dataset, I find strong support for this argument. Corporatist countries invest a lot more in knowledge‐based capital, and corporatism also affects how countries react to deindustrialization. This is an important finding given the key role of long‐term policy making in areas like climate change politics, pandemic preparedness or responding to the digital transformation. This article explores continuities and changes in the damming of rivers in the global South. By the 2000s, the infrastructural promises of large dams seemed exhausted. Yet, currently dams are making a strong comeback with new justifications highlighting their capacity to produce low-carbon energy and climate-proofed waterscapes, while the harms they generate are being presented as fixable. Through cases from the Mekong (Laos and Cambodia), and the Grijalva (Mexico) River Basins, we problematize these claims. Despite changes in the aspirations and agencies that foster damming, obdurate dam materialities and the new profit-maximizing operation modes provoke violent continuities of infrastructural harms and hinder the repurposing of dams to serve climate combat. Neoliberalised dams even augment climate vulnerabilities, as the more volatile rivers increasingly exceed their ordering capacities. We also show how the new dam assemblages continue dispossessing riverine residents while divergently strengthening corporate and state powers and obscuring relations of responsibility. Corporatism was portrayed in the interwar period as a third way, an alternative to both capitalism and socialism. Between the two world wars, the new organizational model was widely debated by theorists, while, at different times, some countries adopted aspects of corporatism. However, the beginnings of this model can be traced back to the late Belle Époque period, a case in point being the corporatist experiment in Romania which began in 1902. Emerging as a reaction to the problems caused by the liberalization of labor legislation, the fear of socialism or the emergence of nationalism, both among the political elite and the tradesmen, the new workers' organizations were set up in almost all the towns of the Old Kingdom, as well as in some larger rural settlements. Initially seen as a solution to the problems that some workers faced, the way the corporations operated came to be criticized by politicians and a part of the working class, while giving socialists an opportunity to condemn the existing social order. Suárez Serrato and Zidar (2016) identify state corporate tax incidence in a spatial equilibrium model with imperfectly mobile firms. Their identification argument rests on comparative statics omitting a channel implied by their model: the link between common determinants of a location's attractiveness and the average idiosyncratic productivity of firms choosing that location. This compositional margin causes the labor demand elasticity to be independent from the product demand elasticity, impeding the identification of incidence from the four estimated reduced-form effects. The paper introduces and interprets the corporatist plan of organizing and establishing the 'Serbian Peasant Cooperative State,' which was developed by the collaborationist authorities in Serbia during World War II. Born out of deep disillusionment with interwar parliamentarism and under the influence of the German occupation system in Serbia, this unrealized concept of state organization was an ultra-conservative response to the political conditions in occupied Serbia, as well as one of the aspects of its planned integration into Hitler's new imperial order founded on the premise of Nazi hegemony and known as 'New Europe.' The present analysis is based on the limited number of surviving primary historical sources that testify to the genesis and character of the draft proposal.
