The preventive archaeological research carried out on the Medgidia Elenistic 1 site, by MINA Constanța, which took place between November 2022 and July 2023, brought to light a rich and beautiful ceramic material of all kinds, fromGetic and Scythian hand modeled pottery by - to luxury black-glazed Greek vessels, gray pottery and, of course, a rich batch of Greek amphorae and their fragments. In general terms, the discovered material falls chronologically between the IV and III BC.Among the amphoric material, the majority on the site, a special place is occupied by the amphoric stamps (67), coming from6 Greek producing centers, bothMediterranean - Thasos, Cnidos, Rhodes, and from the Pontic ones - Heraclea, Sinope, Chersones. Among the stamps from Medgidia, some specimens of unknown centers were also noticed, some present for the 􀌑rst time in the W-NW area of the Black Sea, as well as, we believe, a new Sinopean producer. Most of the stamps belong to the Sinopean amphoric production - 34, which represents 60% of the total of this lot. From a chronological point of view, the batch of stamps discovered on the Medgidia Elenistic 1 site falls between the 􀌑rst half of the century 4th and mid-century 3rd century Chr. The Greek-Hellenistic settlements in the Schitu-Costinești area, known up to now, are the following: the Mamelon point from Schitu, the settlement from the Pescărie point from Costinești, the settlement located north-northeast of the water pumps, near the DN 39 road Constanța-Mangalia, called by us the Pompele de Apă (Dig) point from Costinești and the one behind the Forum hotel, approximately 150 m south (Forum Hotel point). In 2006, the Hellenistic settlement at the Pompele de apă-Dig point, located on a hillock, approximately 2 km northeast of the intersection of the Constanța-Mangalia national road with the road to Costinești, was archaeologically researched in a preventive context. The results of the archaeological excavations carried out during the fall of 2006 allowed us to identify surface and semi-buried housing complexes, some consisting of several rooms, utility pits, etc. According to the archaeological materials discovered, the settlement at the Pompele de Apă point (or conventionally called by us Costinești Dig 2007) dates back to the middle of the 4th century BC. and the first quarter of the 3rd century BC. A single coin belonging to the period of Alexander the Great was discovered within the settlement, minted in an uncertain mint belonging to the kingdom of Macedonia. In addition to the archaeological information, a total of 16 bronze coins discovered in the area of Costinești and its surroundings, belonging to the pre-Roman era, in particular Hellenistic, are presented. Coins are struck at Istros, Tomis, Dionysopolis, Odessos and in the kingdom of Macedonia for Philip II and Alexander the Great. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper presents the study of bronze artefacts resulting from an accidental discovery in the Preajba neighbourhood of Târgu Jiu municipality, Gorj County, Romania. In addition to the presentation of the field assessment and artefact analogies, the objects were analysed using optical microscopy (OM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) coupled with Energy-Dispersive X-Ray (EDX), in order to highlight the morphology of the corrosion crust and to determine the elemental composition of corrosion and soil contamination products.
