Cyberbullying is a form of deviant behavior, acknowledged as a worldwide mental health issue. Few studies have investigated cyberbullying among youth with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), a population susceptible to bullying, and associated factors. In this study, we aimed to explore frequency and related factors of cybervictimization/bullying among adolescents with ADHD. We included 92 clinically referred adolescents (14.37 ± 1.78 years) with ADHD. Revised Cyberbullying Inventory and a semi-structured diagnostic interview were used to assess cybervictimization/bullying and psychiatric disorders respectively. 38% of participants (n = 35) were defined as cybervictims and 35.9% (n = 33) as cyberbullies. The symptoms of anxiety and problematic internet use were more severe, and social phobia was more frequent among cybervictims than non-cybervictims. Cybervictimization was associated with being overweight, having generalized anxiety disorder and online gaming. Parent-rated inattention, hyperactivity, and defiant behaviors were significantly more severe and internet addiction scores were higher in cyberbullies compared to non-cyberbullies. Cyberbullying was associated with having generalized anxiety disorder, more severe problematic internet use, and downloading programs. Per our study, a major component of clinical assessment must include questions related to social experiences on the internet. This recommendation is especially valid for adolescents with ADHD with anxiety disorders, high body mass index, and online gamers. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

SLEEVE gastrectomy ,SUTURES ,LAPAROSCOPIC surgery ,SUTURING ,ISCHEMIA - Abstract
Introduction: The staple line (SL) leak remains one of the most serious complications after laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG). The present study aims to determine whether reinforcing the SL with sutures is effective in maintaining tissue integrity. Materials and Methods: LSG Specimens of 60 patients were ex vivo studied. The specimens were divided into three groups: In group 1, the entire SL was reinforced, while the upper half part of the SL was reinforced from fundus to antrum in group 2. The SL was not reinforced in group 3. Then, the pressure inside the sample was increased, and the bursting pressure location and pressure value during the bursting were recorded. Results: The bursting pressure was significantly higher in entire and half oversewed SL groups than the none reinforced group (group 1: 115 mmHg [95–170]; group 2: 95 mmHg [80–120]; group 3: 40 mmHg [22–60], respectively, [P < .001]). The most common site of bursting was in the middle ⅓ of SL (35, 53.8%), followed by the proximal ⅓ part of SL (18, 27.7%), and the distal ⅓ part of SL (12, 18.5%), respectively. The bursting site was significantly more frequent in the corpus than the other parts of the SL (P = .013). Conclusion: Reinforcing the SL with sutures preserves tissue integrity. Although bursting was most frequently observed in the corpus region ex vivo, the fact that almost all real-life leaks develop in the area close to the Angle of His. This situation suggests that strengthening the suture line with reinforcement alone will not be protective enough against leaks in the fundus line, and factors such as tissue ischemia may be considered. - Abstract
Background: The aim of this study was to evaluate the peripheral expression of ADORA2A (Adenosine A2A receptor gene) in young subjects with autism spectrum disorder compared with healthy controls and its relationship with clinical characteristics. Method: This study included 93 children and adolescents with a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder as the study group and 105 healthy age-and gender-matched controls. Blood samples were obtained from all participants, and a real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction was performed. Parent-and clinician-rated assessment instruments were used to assess and rate the severity of autism spectrum disorder and other emotional/behavioral problems. Results: The mean age of the study group was 9.06 ± 3.57 and 86% were male (n = 83), whereas the mean age of the control group was 9.22 ± 3.86 and 86.7% were male (n = 91). We have found a higher level of peripheral expression of ADORA2A in children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder compared with healthy controls (fold change = 1.33, P = .001). We also found a weak negative correlation with autism spectrum disorder severity (r = –0.216; P = .038) and stereotyped behaviors (r = –0.207, P = .046). Conclusion: ADORA2A genes may have a role in the pathophysiology of autism spectrum disorder. Further studies are needed to evaluate whether peripheral expression of ADORA2A genes may be among the biomarkers for diagnosing or measuring the severity of autism spectrum disorder.

Bu çalışmanın amacı ilköğretim matematik öğretmen adaylarının geometri alanındaki ispat yapabilme yeterliklerinin incelenmesi, temel geometrik kavramları bilme düzeylerinin belirlenmesi ve kullandıkları ispat yöntemleri hakkındaki bilgilerini araştırmaktır. Araştırmanın örneklemini Orta Anadolu'daki iki devlet üniversitesinde 2018-2019 eğitim-öğretim yılı 3. ve 4. sınıfta öğrenim gören 228 öğretmen adayı oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın verileri 6 sorudan oluşan Geometri İspat Testinden ve 11 öğretmen adayıyla yapılan yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmelerden elde edilmiştir. Yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmeler betimsel yöntem kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Görüşmelerden ilköğretim matematik öğretmeni adaylarınınn ispatların mantığını anlamak yerine ezberledikleri, temel geometrik kavramları karıştırdıkları sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. 228 öğretmen adayının verilerinin analizi sonucunda öğretmen adaylarının 6 ispat problemini doğru yapabilme oranı yaklaşık %38'dir yani öğretmen adaylarının geometri alanındaki ispat yapabilme yeterlikleri düşüktür. Verilerin analizi sonucunda araştırmaya katılan ilköğretim matematik öğretmeni adaylarının geometrik ispat yeterliklerinin düşük olduğu söylenebilir. İki üniversitedeki öğretmen adaylarının ispat yeterlikleri birbirinden farklıdır bunun sebebi üniversiteye giriş puanı olabilir. Her iki üniversitedeki öğretmen adaylarının da yaptıkları ispatın türünü bilemedikleri belirlenmiştir, aynı şekilde öğretmen adayları temel geometrik kavramlara ilişkin bilgi düzeyleri düşüktür.Anahtar Kelimeler: Geometri, Ortaokul Matematik Öğretmen Adayı, İspat, Formel ispat, İnformel İspat The aim of this study is to investigate the pre-service elementary mathematics teachers' ability to make proof in geometry learning area, to determine their level of knowledge of basic geometric concepts, to investigate their knowledge about the proof abilities they use. The sample of the study consists of 228 pre-service elementary mathematics who are studying in the 3rd and 4th year of 2018-2019 academic year in two public universities in Central Anatolia. The data of the study was obtained from the Geometry Proof Test consisting of 6 questions and semi-structured interviews with 11 pre-service elementary mathematics. Semi-structured interviews were analyzed using descriptive method. It was concluded from the interviews that pre-service elementary mathematics teachers apply memorizing rather than understanding the logic of proofs and confuse basic geometric concepts. From the analysis of the data of 228 teacher candidates, the rate of pre-service teachers to make 6 proof problems correctly is approximately 38%, that is, the teacher candidates' ability to make proof in geometry is low.As a result of the study, it can be said that pre-service mathematics teachers participating in the research have low geometric proof competence. Pre-service elementary mathematics teachers' competencies in the proof differ from university to university, which may be due to university entrance scores. It was determined that the pre-service elementary mathematics at both universities did not know the type of proof they applied, and the level of knowledge about basic geometric concepts was basic. Keywords: Geometry, Pre-service Elementary Mathematics Teacher, Proof, Proving, Formal Proof, Informal Proof 185

ATTENTION-deficit hyperactivity disorder ,COMORBIDITY ,BEHAVIOR disorders ,MENTAL illness - Abstract
Objective: This study aimed to determine the prevalence and comorbidities of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) by evaluating a large-scale nation-wide sample of children. Method: The inclusion criterion was being enrolled as a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th-grade student. A semi-structured diagnostic interview (K-SADS-PL), DSM-IV-Based Screening Scale for Disruptive Behavior Disorders, and assessment of impairment (by both parents and teachers) were applied to 5,842 participants. Results: The prevalence of ADHD was 19.5% without impairment and 12.4% with impairment. Both ADHD with and without impairment groups had similar psychiatric comorbidity rates except for oppositional defiant disorder (ODD) and conduct disorder (CD) diagnoses. Impairment in the ADHD group resulted in significantly higher ODD and CD diagnoses. Conclusion: Even when impairment is not described, other psychiatric disorders accompany the diagnosis of ADHD and may cause impairment in the future. Impairment in the diagnosis of ADHD significantly increases the likelihood of ODD and CD. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In todays' world, differences in the definition of terrorism, which has become a global threat, offer plenty of advantages in favor of the terrorists themselves.Since in depth explanations between different definitions of terrorism and their perspectives require a series of novel inductive reasonings, it should be accepted, without any further philosophical explanations, but with only plain sight, (above all, without the motivation of ideological kinship impulses) that terrorism is the violent act that intimidates, threatens, divides, frightens, and kills both civilians and servicemen in accordance with their leaders' selfish ideological passions and terrorist is the one who is involved in any of these acts.Terrorism should never refer to vague terminology such as `freedom fighter` and deserves a globally accepted, clear definition against the cruel acts carried out by means of the concealed advantages of legal-illegal transition which is a typical characteristics of terror organizations. In this thesis, reasons for those who directly or indirectly serve and support terror organizations which, despite ideological differences, have common philosophies with respect to establishment, purpose, organization, operation and strategy have been analyzed. 99

Aim: To evaluate the relationships between problematic internet use (PIU) and psychiatric comorbid disorders and internet use habits in a clinical sample of adolescents with attention‐deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Method: This cross‐sectional study included 95 adolescents with ADHD. Problematic behaviors and symptoms related to internet use were evaluated via Young's Internet Addiction Scale (YIAS), and subjects with a YIAS score of ≥50 were categorized as PIU while those with a score of <50 were defined as normal internet use (NIU). The two groups were compared with respect to demographics and psychometric tests. While psychiatric disorders were examined by a semistructured instrument, self‐report and parent‐report scales were used to assess other individual and clinical characteristics of participants. Results: 33.7% (n = 32) of the participants were determined to have PIU. There was no gender (p =.058) or age (p =.426) difference between the PIU and NIU groups. Current presence of social phobia (p =.035) and history of major depressive disorder (p =.006) were more frequent in the PIU group than the NIU group. Multivariable regression analysis revealed that PIU was independently associated with online gaming (OR: 2.375, 95% CI: 1.532–3.681), e‐mail use (OR: 1.864, 95% CI: 1.170–2.971), social networking (OR: 1.834, 95% CI: 1.156–2.910), and Social Phobia Scale for Children and Adolescents (SPSCA) score (OR: 1.058, 95% CI: 1.020–1.098). Conclusion: PIU may be common among adolescents with ADHD. The severity of social phobia and particular online activities (playing online games, e‐mailing, social networking) may be associated with a higher risk of PIU in adolescents with ADHD. Abstract Aim Diospyros Lotus (“Wild Date Palm of Trabzon or Persimmon”), which has been proven to cause phytobezoars, is a widely consumed fruit in the Black Sea and Northeast Anatolia regions of Turkey. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of Diospyros Lotus together with other predisposing factors, on the development of gastrointestinal phytobezoars and to discuss the treatment results in comparison to the literature. Material and method The records of 13 patients, who had been admitted to the General Surgery Clinic of Düzce Atatürk State Hospital between August 2008 and August 2011, were retrospectively reviewed. Demographic characteristics, predisposing factors, clinical and radiological findings, diagnostic and therapeutic methods, and the outcomes of the patients were recorded from the patient files. Written informed consent was obtained from each patient for publication of this research article and accompanying images. Results All the patients had a history of consuming Diospyros Lotus. Of the patients, 30,7% had a history of previous gastric surgery, 30,7% had diabetes mellitus and 23% had dental implants. None of the patients had hypothyroidism, which is another predisposing factor for phytobezoars. The phytobezoars were located in the stomach alone in 23% of the patients, whereas 15,3% was detected in the jejunum and stomach, 15,3% was detected in the jejunum alone, and 46,1% was detected in the ileum alone. All patients were treated with surgery, and there were no deaths. Conclusion Gastric phytobezoars are rare. Preventive measures have particular importance in the management of this condition, which is difficult to treat. For this purpose, excessive consumption of herbal nutrients containing a high amount of indigestible fibers such as Diospyros Lotus should be avoided in patients with a history of gastrointestinal surgery or poor oral and dental health.

OBJECTIVE Pediatric cancers may have traumatic, adverse effects on healthy siblings of children with cancer. The majority of studies on the subject have been performed in Western societies, and few controlled studies implementing validated surveys have been performed. The aim of this study is to investigate the quality of life, prevalence of anxiety and depression and associated factors in healthy siblings of children with cancer. METHODS Sixty children aged 8-16 years-old with siblings with cancer were included as the case group and sixty children with siblings without cancer were enrolled as the control group. The Revised Child Anxiety and Depression Scale (RCAD-S) and the Questionnaire for Quality of Life Assessment for Children and Adolescents Parent Form (Kid-KINDL) were used to evaluate anxiety/depression symptoms and quality of life respectively. RESULTS The case group consisted of 30 boys and 30 girls (12.08±2.61 years), and the control group of 31 boys and 29 girls (11.40±2.11 years). Depression/anxiety symptoms were significantly higher in the case group than in the control group (p<0.05). Quality of life total score was significantly lower in the case group than in the control group (p<0.05). Being siblings of same gender was determined to be associated with impaired quality of life (B=8.81 CI: 1.56-49.65, p=0.014) and presence of depression/anxiety (B=6.89 CI: 1.29-36.72, p=0.024). CONCLUSION Professionals should include healthy siblings of children with cancer when assessing the psychosocial effect of pediatric cancer, and should adopt a multidimensional approach in caring for healthy siblings of children with cancer. Hipokalsemi gelişen hastalarda erken ve geç PTH değerleri anlamlı olarak düşük seyretmektedir (p, INTRODUCTION: In this study, to evaluate the technical, hormonal, and gland factors in patients in whom different thyroidectomy techniques have been applied and it is aimed to find out the reasons which cause hypocalcemia.METHODS: In a study which was conducted prospectively, 145 patients had been included that those patients had undergone surgery because of their benign or malignant thyroidal illnesses. According to the surgical method applied, the patients were categorized into three groups and their demographic information, the characteristics observed during their illness and operation, the postoperative findings, and serum parathormon (PTH) levels were analyzed from a statistical perspective.RESULTS: Study cohort was consist of 118 female and 27 male patients. The average age of the patients were 45.03±13.5 years. A complication developed in the 34 of the 145 patients (23%). Temporary hypocalcemia was observed to be the most common complication which was seen in 22 (15%) patients. No meaningful difference among groups form the perspective of complication development rate had been found (p˃0,05); however, in group 3 (bilateral total thyroidectomy) the complication rates were higher. Patients in whom hypocalcemia developed, the early and late PTH values were significantly low (p ˂0,001). In multivariate analysis, the fact that the preoperative thyrotoxicosis, nerve dissection and preoperative PTH is near the upper limit, are effctive factors from statistical point of view (p

Lipomlar benign, enkapsüle, mezenşimal neoplazmlar olup, matür yağ hücrelerinden kökenalırlar. Sıklıkla sırt, omuz ve abdomende izlenir. Genellikle subkutan dokuda yerleşir ve çevre dokulara infiltrasyon göstermeyen iyi sınırlı kitleler olarak karşımıza çıkarlar. Lipomların az bir kısmı baş boyun bölgesi yerleşimlidir. Etyolojileri net olarak bilinmemekle birlikte baş boyun bölgesinde yerleşimli olanlar bu bölgenin komşu organ patolojileriyle karışabilmektedir. Bu olguda preoperatif nodüler guatr tanısı almış bir sternokleideomastoid kas içi lipomu vakasını sunmayı amaçladık., Lipomas are benign, encapsulated, mesenchymal neoplasms and they are derived from mature fat cells. They are often observed on back, shoulders and abdomen. Usually settles subcutaneous and don’t infiltration to surrounding tissues, are well sircumsicribed mass. [No Keywords] - Abstract
To investigate prevalence and comorbidity of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and social anxiety disorder (SAD) in a Turkish community sample of young adult population. University students aged 21-24 years completed a socio-demographic form developed by the study team; Adult ADD/ ADHD DSM IV- Based Diagnostic Screening and Rating Scale and Liebowitz Social Anxiety Scale. Subjects, who scored above the cut off points in each scales, were invited for a diagnostic interview conducted by experienced psychiatrists using DSM-IV criteria for ADHD and SAD. 30 percent (152/494) of all participants had a score above of the cutoff point in screening scales and 60 percent of them attended clinical interview. 38 percent (35/92) of those who had clinical interview received diagnoses of ADHD and/or SAD. Prevalence of ADHD and SAD among the whole sample was 3.23% for ADHD (16/494) and 4.45% for SAD (22/494), whilst 0.6 % (3/494) had comorbid ADHD and SAD. Findings presented here support the existing literature that SAD and ADHD are relatively common comorbidities. Rejection of professional help offered to the teacher candidates with Social Anxiety Disorder need further analysis. Their fear of stigmatization and concerns about the impact of a formal diagnosis and having treatment on their professional career needs to be addressed in a culture-specific approach.

Mutations in the Methyl-CpG-binding protein 2 (MECP2) gene have been implicated in the etiology of Rett syndrome (RTT), a neurodevelopmental disorder that primarily affects girls. MECP2 mutations in males, once thought to be lethal, are now recognized with a broad spectrum of clinical manifestations. Here we report a 3-year-old boy who presented with developmental problems and regression and eventually was diagnosed with RTT that genetic analysis revealed to be a hemizygous c.316C>T missense mutation in the MECP2 gene suggesting somatic mosaicism with the normal 46,XY karyotype. DNA analysis of the patient's mother showed this either to be a de novo mutation ora case of gonadal mosaicism. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first case report of RTT in a young boy with a hemizygous c.316C>T mutation in the MECP2 gene. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Fisheries Engineers, employment, education, solution propasals ,Su ürünleri mühendisliği,istihdam,eğitim,çözüm önerileri - Abstract
In this review we evaluated education, employment and other problems of fisheries engineers employed in public as well as private industries and discussed the ways of eliminating those problems and the current shape of fisheries in Turkey. In Turkey there are 24 Faculties/Departments of Fisheries providing undergraduate and graduate education. Although Turkey is rich in water resources and surrounded by three major seas, the rate of preference of fisheries faculties and departments by high school graduates has substantially declined. The low rate of preference, which is probably caused by an increase in number of faculties and departments and unemployed fisheries engineers, creates an avocationally disturbing situation. In order to increase the rate of preference and fill the empty quotas given by Turkish Higher Education Council to the Fisheries Faculties/Departments, quotas substantially have been declined and some of Fisheries Faculties have been renamed. But these attempts were sooner understood not to be effective choices for increasing the rate of preference. It seems that publicizing of Fisheries Engineers to society particularly to the high school graduates is effective and aright ways of solving these problems, Bu derlemede dünyada son yıllarda hızlı bir büyüme trendinde yer alan tarım ve gıda sektörünün bir parçası su ürünlerinin; ülkemizdeki mevcut durumu, özel ve kamu sektöründe çalışan Su Ürünleri mühendislerinin başta istihdam olmak üzere eğitim ve diğer sorunları ve bu sorunların giderilmesinde izlenebilecek çözüm yolları açıklanmaya çalışılmıştır.
