- Abstract
The nocebo effect, linked to the belief in the harmfulness of a treatment or a noxa, has been less studied than its opposite, the placebo, but has proven to be equally if not more important than the latter both in clinics and in research. The factors that determine it, the mechanisms that mediate it and the pathological processes that can result are briefly summarized. The implications of nocebo effect in different fields are therefore discussed, as are the main indications for counteracting it. Finally, given that the nocebo effect implies the connection between the cognitive, emotional and behavioral levels, the possibility that it constitutes an interesting study model for a better understanding of the relationships between physical and psychological aspects in both in health and in illness is discussed.

This paper critically interrogates care and violence, demonstrating how they are both spatialised and mutually constitutive within the shelters and clinics of Singapore for migrant workers. While there are seemingly disconnected sites, both clinics and shelters are utilized to provide different forms of care, discursively represented as spaces of protection and healing. Drawing on ethnographic research with migrant domestic workers at these sites, this paper will, however, argue that shelters and clinics are also spaces where violence is enacted and experienced. Indeed, despite having lived through different forms of violence in their employers' homes, this paper will reveal how domestic workers were subjected to further suffering and bodily harm; all while, paradoxically, receiving different forms of care. Building on social and cultural geographic debates, and particularly on feminist scholarship that foregrounds care, violence, and the body, this paper will argue that care and violence are mutually constitutive in these sites. Moreover, it will show that the migratory regime in Singapore creates spaces where the care that is practiced cannot be abstracted from violence. Beyond coexisting, in these geographies care and violence are shown to be inextricably connected. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: web applications are currently essential for data management in any organization, they allow the user to access and use information from anywhere in the world. The use of web applications has led to the streamlining of several processes. Objective: to use a web application developed using free software for the control and classification of medical records for different pathologies in the Health and Life Medical Center of Ibarra, Ecuador. Method: a qualitative-quantitative mixed modality research was applied, which allowed us to identify the real needs of the patients and professionals of this health home. The use of historical research helped to know each of the processes that were taken into account in the generation of the clinical history and how to classify them by pathologies. With the help of bibliographic research, it was possible to compile the necessary definitions to argue the theoretical basis of the article; Through the survey and interview, patient dissatisfaction was identified due to factors such as waiting time, search deficiency and, even worse, not being registered. Results: the agility in the patient registration processes and each one with their respective medical history allows the specialists to continue with their diagnosis in the next appointments. Conclusions: the web application effectively streamlines the processes related to medical records, which contributes to the control and classification of said documentation.

Moral injury can significantly negatively impact mental health, but currently no validated treatment for moral injury-related mental health difficulties exists in a UK context. This study aimed to examine whether the Restore and Rebuild (R&R) treatment was feasible to deliver, acceptable and well tolerated by UK military veterans with moral injury related mental health difficulties. The R&R treatment was delivered to 20 patients who reported distress related to exposure to a morally injurious event(s) during military service. R&R is a 20-session psychotherapy with key themes of processing the event, self compassion, connecting with others and core values. Treatment was delivered online, weekly, one-to-one by a single therapist. Qualitative interviews with patients and the therapist who delivered R&R were conducted to explore acceptability and analysed using thematic analysis. Following treatment, patients experienced a significant reduction in symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, alcohol misuse and moral injury related distress. R&R was found to be well tolerated by patients and improved their perceived wellbeing. These results provide preliminary evidence that veterans struggling with moral injury related mental ill health can benefit from R&R treatment. Evidence before this study: Moral injury can negatively impact the mental health of military veterans. Currently no validated treatment for moral injury related mental health difficulties exists for UK military personnel/veterans. Added value of this study: Restore and Rebuild (R&R) is a co-designed psychotherapy for moral injury-related mental health difficulties. This study provides the first evidence that R&R treatment is associated with a significant improvement in patient symptoms of PTSD, depression, alcohol misuse and moral injury related distress. R&R was feasible to deliver, acceptable to patients and well tolerated. Implications of all the available evidence: These results provide preliminary evidence that veterans struggling with moral injury related mental ill health can benefit from R&R treatment. With further evaluation, R&R may be beneficial to other occupational groups affected by moral injury. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The present article intends to reflect on a clinical case in light of the existential ontology proposed by the philosopher Martin Heidegger (1889-1976) and his analysis of the Dasein (daseinsanalysis). This perspective is used by Swiss psychiatrist and psychotherapist Medard Boss (1903-1990) to support his approach on the pathological phenomena in his clinic Through the intertwining of thoughts by Heidegger and Boss, we will dwell on the understanding of the “improper” proposed by the former, which comes to be the primary mode of Dasein, that, although conditioning, is also an enabler of transformation. General aspects of a clinical case (initiated after a limiting situation, i.e., marital separation) will also be examined and some dimensions of her experience will be clarified from Boss’s perspective, especially regarding her existence and notions of restriction (or deprivation). Anthropogenic disturbances affecting forest areas can increase disease prevalence and susceptibility in several species of arboreal mammals, such as sloths. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate the most common conditions in body systems of free-ranging sloths admitted at the Wildlife Triage and Rehabilitation Center of Amazonas of the Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources. A total of 227 individuals (139 retrospective cases from 2015 to 2019, and 88 prospective cases from July 2020 to July 2021) were evaluated over a six-year period. Cases from the genus Bradypus showed involvement of the following body systems: 44% respiratory, 29% integumentary, 15% musculoskeletal, 5% digestive, 3% visual, 2% auditory, 1% circulatory and 1% genitourinary, while that distribution in the genus Choloepus was: 39% musculoskeletal, 27% integumentary, 19% respiratory, 9% digestive, 3% circulatory, 1% visual, 1% auditory and 1% genitourinary. The results reveal significant differences between the condition detected and the genus (Bradypus and Choloepus), age and case outcome. These results can provide data for future investigations of sloth diseases, confirming lesions, as well as motivating and suggesting adequate management methods. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article proposes a discussion on the intersection between contemporary French philosophy and psychoanalysis, specifically focused on the issue of "singularity" in psychoanalysis, highlighting authors such as Politzer, Foucault and, especially, Merleau-Ponty. It is about thinking about how these authors seek to channel the theme of singularity in Freud. The objective is to determine how the singularity that Freud encountered in his clinical work of listening to patients can be defined and in what sense this singularity is not reduced to the theoretical formulations later developed by the psychoanalyst in terms of psychic system -- and which Politzer called of abstract. It considers, especially, the efforts of Merleau-Ponty to think the Freudian notion of singularity in the terms of a new theory, which became known as the theory of otherness, in which the philosopher approaches the singularity to the notion of the death drive, anticipating what years later Lacan would call "extimacy". From where the leading question of this research follows: what is singularity in the psychoanalytic clinic and in what sense is it possible for one to hear it from the other without subjecting it to an abstraction or knowledge imposed as a device?

Training in Psychology careers at a national level presents the gender and diversity perspective as a vacancy area. The changes promoted in this area in the last decade highlight the essential need for psychology training institutions to incorporate these issues with responsibility and solvency. The demand for dignified treatment and equality in terms of rights and opportunities becomes the main focus of action on which the gender and diversity perspective is called upon as a tool for intervention. Regarding the existence of recommendation guidelines for "good practices" or, as we decided to call them here "respectful practices with a gender perspective", at the national level there are some isolated antecedents on the subject, more focused on the field of health in general than on psychology (Argentine Ministry of Health, 2020). At the local level, there are previous studies that address the training of psychologists in gender and the inclusion of the gender perspective in the Psychology career of the UNMdP (Leguizamón & Núnez, 2017; Nocelli 2016; Pili 2017). They pointed out aspects of great value that can be translated into recommendations but did not focus their analysis on the development of a specific protocol on this issue. In this context and based on the experience that the group History, professionalization and teaching of psychology in the Southern Cone countries has in the training of psychologists, we present the results of a research carried out at the National University of Mar del Plata (UNMdP) whose objective was to investigate from semi-directed interviews social representations around the perspective of gender and diversity in professionals dedicated to the [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

MEDICAL decision making , *EVIDENCE-based medicine , *CLINICAL epidemiology , *PHYSICIANS , *DATA analysis - Abstract
Decision-making in the daily practice of medicine requires amalgamating the experience of the physician, the data derived from scientific studies as well as the available resources and preferences of patients. Evidence-based medicine helps in these tasks and clinical guidelines have served as support, but the doctor must reinforce his knowledge of epidemiology, statistics and scientific method to be better prepared when deciding which data can be incorporated into the practice of medicine, which should be discarded and identify those that require confirmation. This article presents the most important elements to consider when deciding on the applicability of data from research studies and clinical epidemiology. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The purpose of this article is to present a new "terminology" that organizes, makes intelligible and sheds light on some clinical experiences undertaken by Sándor Ferenczi when treating individuals with a history of trauma. We propose to designate, under the term "expressive mutuality", the analyst's gesture of allowing himself to express the impact of the affects that are provoked by the patient's emotional expressions, producing profound repercussions in the latter. The expressive mutuality highlights three points worked on by Ferenczi, which will be discussed throughout this article: i) the construction of trust and the reorganization of the dynamics of the splitting; ii) the development of the affect that was interrupted when denied; iii) the critical reconsideration of the analyst's technical principle of neutrality. The purpose of this article is to specify the aspects that make the specificity of the "practice among many" and that distinguish it from other approaches. Starting from a bibliographic review on the subject, and considering various institutional experiences that are based on this practice, we try to systematize the main foundations that are at the base of its effectiveness. To do this, we begin by situating the position of Lacanian-oriented psychoanalysis with respect to some crucial points of this practice, such as the conception of autism, the ethics that guides the practice and the possible treatments. These topics allow us to locate the aspects that distinguish this clinic from other non-psychoanalytic clinics, and even from some psychoanalytic clinics that are not guided by Lacan's teaching. Next, the points that constitute the specificity of this dispositive are specified. We develop the establishment of the field of speech and language in the institution, the treatment of the unbearable, the institutional, collective and personal conditions for work, and team meetings. Finally, we mention some questions that arise from this research. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

VETERANS , *MORAL development , *MENTAL health , *HARM (Ethics) , *HEALTH of military personnel - Abstract
Background: Experiencing potentially morally injurious events (PMIEs) has been found to be significantly associated with poor mental health outcomes in military personnel/veterans. Currently, no manualised treatment for moral injury-related mental health difficulties for UK veterans exists. This article describes the design, methods and expected data collection of the Restore & Rebuild (R&R) protocol, which aims to develop procedures to treat moral injury related mental ill health informed by a codesign approach. Methods: The study consists of three main stages. First, a systematic review will be conducted to understand the best treatments for the symptoms central to moral injury-related mental ill health (stage 1). Then the R&R manual will be co-designed with the support of UK veteran participants with lived experience of PMIEs as well as key stakeholders who have experience of supporting moral injury affected individuals (stage 2). The final stage of this study is to conduct a pilot study to explore the feasibility and acceptability of the R&R manual (stage 3). Results: Qualitative data will be analysed using thematic analysis. Conclusions: This study was approved by the King's College London's Research Ethics Committee (HR-20/21-20850). The findings will be disseminated in several ways, including publication in academic journals, a free training event and presentation at conferences. By providing information on veteran, stakeholder and clinician experiences, we anticipate that the findings will not only inform the development of an acceptable evidence-based approach for treating moral injury-related mental health problems, but they may also help to inform broader approaches to providing care to trauma exposed military veterans. No manualised treatment for UK veterans with moral injury-related mental health difficulties currently exists. This protocol outlines the co-design process of the Restore & Rebuild (R&R) treatment. R&R will be informed by a comprehensive review of existing research, interviews with international stakeholders, interviews with UK veterans & feedback from veteran patients who receive R&R.
