We recently proposed REXPACO, an algorithm for imaging circumstellar environments from high-contrast angular differential imaging (ADI) data. In the context of high-contrast imaging where the signal of interest is largely dominated by a nuisance term due to the stellar light leakages and the noise, our algorithm amounts to jointly estimating the object of interest and the statistics (mean and covariance matrix) of the nuisance component. In this contribution, we first extend the REXPACO algorithm by refining the statistical model of the nuisance component it embeds. Capitalizing on the improved robustness of this new method named robust REXPACO, we then show how it can be modified to deal with angular plus spectral differential imaging (ASDI) datasets. We apply our methods on several ADI and ASDI datasets from the IRDIS and IFS imagers of the VLT/SPHERE instrument and we show that the proposed algorithms significantly reduce the typical artifacts produced by stateof-the-art algorithms. By also taking into account the instrumental point spread function (PSF), our algorithms yield a deblurred estimate of the object of interest without the artifacts observed with other methods.

12 pags., 10 figs. 2 tabs., Red supergiant stars (RSGs, Minit = 10-40Msun) are known to eject large amounts of material, as much as half of their initial mass during this evolutionary phase. However, the processes powering the mass ejection in low- and intermediate-mass stars do not work for RSGs and the mechanism that drives the ejection remains unknown. Different mechanisms have been proposed as responsible for this mass ejection but so far little is known about the actual processes taking place in these objects. Here we present high angular resolution interferometric ALMA maps of VY CMa continuum and molecular emission, which resolve the structure of the ejecta with unprecedented detail. The study of the molecular emission from the ejecta around evolved stars has been shown to be an essential tool in determining the characteristics of the mass loss ejections. Our aim is thus to use the information provided by these observations to understand the ejections undergone by VY CMa and to determine their possible origins. We inspected the kinematics of molecular emission observed. We obtained position-velocity diagrams and reconstructed the 3D structure of the gas traced by the different species. It allowed us to study the morphology and kinematics of the gas traced by the different species surrounding VY CMa. Two types of ejecta are clearly observed: extended, irregular, and vast ejecta surrounding the star that are carved by localized fast outflows. The structure of the outflows is found to be particularly flat. We present a 3D reconstruction of these outflows and proof of the carving. This indicates that two different mass loss processes take place in this massive star. We tentatively propose the physical cause for the formation of both types of structures. Cepheids are essential to calibrate the distances in the Universe. However, these stars exhibit an infrared excess which could originate in their circumstellar envelope, and thus lead to photometric biases in the calculation of distances. However, the nature and origin of these envelopes, as well as the physical mechanisms responsible for the infrared excess remain unknown. The objective of this thesis is to determine the physical mechanisms at the origin of the infrared excess of Cepheids coming from their circumstellar envelope, and to evaluate its effects on the calibration of distances in the Universe. In the first part, I reconstruct the infrared excess of 5 Galactic Cepheids by comparing spectroscopic observations of the Spitzer space telescope with the photosphere model of these Cepheids during the pulsation cycle. I show that most of the excess infrared cannot be explained by a dust envelope. I then consider an analytical model of an ionized hydrogen gas shell. Adjusting the physical parameters of this model allows me to reproduce the excess infrared satisfactorily. In particular, I determine envelopes whose radius is about 1.15 Rstar, that is in a region which could be assimilated to the lower chromosphere of the Cepheids. To better understand the origin of the ionized gas, I then study high spectral resolution profiles of Hα and calcium infrared triplet lines obtained by the UVES spectroscope at VLTI, from a sample of 24 Cepheids, during the pulse cycle. I show that the chromosphere is activated in each cycle by the propagation of the main supersonic shock, which heats up and ionizes the gas in the atmosphere. The ballistic fallout from the higher layers can also accelerate to supersonic speed and ionize the gas. In the case of Cepheids of long periods, the de-synchronization between the propagation of the shock and the fallout of the atmosphere causes a double absorption profile which allows me to estimate the radius of the chromosphere at 1.5 Rstar. In addition, absorption lines of Hα centered on the star’s frame of reference suggest the existence of gas envelopes at a distance of at least 2 Rstar. Finally, thanks to the interferometric observations that I carried out using the MATISSE/VLTI instrument within the framework of the consortium, I bring new constraints in the infrared bands L, M and N in studying the Cepheid lCar. I show for the first time the existence of a centrosymmetric environment resolved in L band, whose radius represents about 1.7 Rstarin agreement with previous interferometric observations in K band. In addition, the analysis of the observed spectra show the absence of significant dust signature, once again reinforcing the hypothesis of a gaseous envelope. However, the radius of the envelope thus determined requires to improve the model of an envelope of ionized gas, which cannot simultaneously reproduce the IR excess and the size determined by MATISSE. A theoretical perspective of improving the model consists in studying negative hydrogen as a source of gas opacity. New observations to come with the MATISSE instrument will make it possible to study the properties of the envelopes as a function of the position of the Cepheids in the HR diagram. The objective of these observations is to establish a grid of photometric corrections to be applied when determining the distance of Cepheids.

Survey of circumstellar environments allows a better understanding of exoplanets formation. Despite instrumentation enhancement, allowing for a bigger resolution of these environments, their observation remains difficult due to high contrast between the environments and their host stars. In fact the host stars are 1000 to 10 000 times brighter than the environment, even 10 000 000 times brighter for exoplanets. When images of these circumstellars environments are acquired in direct imaging, the signal of the environments is mixed to star light residuals. Yet, the light of the environment is partially linearly polarized while the light of the star is unpolarized. The instrument Infrared Dual-band Imaging and Spectroscopy (IRDIS) of the European Southern Observatory’s (ESO) Spectro-Polarimeter High-contrast Expolanet REsearch (SPHERE) instrument, installed at one of the four Very Large Telescopes (VLT) in Atacama in Chile, acquires datasets where the polarization is modulated according to a known angle cycle.Then, combining these multivariate data, it is possible to extract the light scattered by the environment from the light of the stars.When data are combined with the state-of-the-art methods, neither the photon noise statistics of the data, witch dominate the signal of interest, nor the read out noise of the detector, nor the missing data. Moreover, if any image in an angle rotation cycle is missing, the rest of the cycle is note used. Finally, any centering, rotation, or deconvolution by the Point Spread Function are made independently of the data reduction. The bad pixels and dead pixels are interpolated before the processing. The issue of such a processing is that the propagation of the errors in the data is not handled.The « inverse problem » methods aim to estimate the light of the environment using a direct model of the data, while controlling the error propagation in the reconstruction. This approach is already used in several field in astronomy, but they have not been developed yet for high contrast direct imaging in polarimetry.The aim of my PhD thesis is to reconstruct, under a given quality criterion, a map of the polarized light of the circumstellar environments, a map of the corresponding polarization angles and a map of the residual star light and of the unpolarized light of the environment. To achieve this goal, in this thesis I develop a non-linear physical model of the data, pixelwise independent, based on Jones formalism and parameterized in the unpolarized intensity, the linearly polarized intensity and the linear polarization angle. Then, I derive an alternative formulation, parameterized in the Stokes parameters, providing the link between such a physical model and the state-of-the-art methods. Throughout this thesis, I extend this model to a pixelwise dependent formulation, without and with the convolution by the Point Spread Function (PSF). In the case without the convolution, I derive a new non-linear model, parameterized in the unpolarized intensity, and the Stokes parameters of the horizontal and vertical polarized intensities.For each of this model, I develop several methods to estimate the parameters, based on the minimization of a constrained criterion and, in the pixelwise dependent case, with regularizations. Among these regularizations, I compare differentiable and non-differentiable penalizations applied on horizontal and vertical image gradients coefficients and on the singular values of the pixels Hessian matrices. In the linear case, I impose an epigraphical constraint between the Stokes parameters. It corresponds in the linear case to a non-negative constraint on the polarized and unpolarized intensities. To auto-calibrate the regularization weights, I use the Stein Unbiased Risk Estimator (SURE).The whole methods are applied on simulated dataset, created to reproduce typical astrophysical datasets encountered in circumstellar environment polarimetrical direct imaging. Depending of the properties of the functions considered in the objective function, the research of its minimum is done with different algorithms. In the pixelwise independent case, I proceed with a direct inversion. In the non-linear case, the parameters of interest are estimated hierarchically. In the smooth pixelwise dependent case, I use a preconditionned gradient descent with with the limited memory preconditionnement of Broyden-Fletcher-Goldfarb-Shanno (BFGS). This algorithm is suitable to estimate the parameters under a non-negative constraint. In the linear case with an epigraphical constraint and a smooth regularization, I use the Forward-Backward with backtracking. The backtracking avoids us the calculus of the gradient Lipschitz constant which can be difficult. In the case of non-smooth regularization, I use the preconditionned primal-dual Condat-V\~u algorithm with a backtracking step. Then, I show that in the pixelwise independent case, taking into account the missing data allows us for the use of incomplete data cycle, reducing the maps estimation error. I also point out that in the pixelwise dependent case, taking the detector transformations (rotations, translations) and the dead pixels into account in the model reduce the error on the polarized and non-polarized intensities in the non-linear case of an independent regularization on both quantities. The error on the angle benefit from a linear model with a regularization on the Stokes parameters. I also show that in the cas of low disk polarization the auto-calibration of the regularization weights with SURE tend to over-regularize the estimation, giving a higher bound for a better manual choice.In the case of the deconvolution, I show that a smooth regularization with smoothing prior and edge preserving as the Total Variation hyperbolic approximation (TV-h) gives better result, in a given time, than than the non-smooth penalization of the Total Variation (TV) and the Shatten norm of the Hessian. I also show that the reconstructions estimated from the global model including the convolution have a smaller estimation error than reconstructions with a posterior deconvolution.Finally, I show on several astrophysical datasets the benefits of the best methods that I develop in this thesis, for the polarized intensity and the angle of polarization. I conclude that taking in account a global model including the convolution for the reconstruction of circumstellar environment, with several level of regularization, allows for a thinner resolution of bright polarized structures and a best detection of low polarized intensity structures., L'étude des environnements circumstellaires nous permet d'en apprendre plus sur la formation des exoplanètes. Aussi, tout recentrage, toute rotation ou toute déconvolution des données est fait indépendamment du démélange. De ce fait, la propagation des erreurs n'est pas contrôlée.Les méthodes de types « problèmes inverses » permettent, à partir d'un modèle direct des données, de procéder au démélange tout en ayant le contrôle sur la propagation des erreurs. Une telle approche peut être retrouvée pour d'autres types d'observations en astrophysique, mais n'a jamais été développée pour l'imagerie directe en polarimétrie.Le but de ma thèse, est de reconstruire, sous un certain critère d'optimalité, des cartes de la lumière polarisée des environnements circumstellaires, une carte des angles de polarisation associés et une carte des résidus lumineux de l'étoile et de la lumière non-polarisée de l'environnement.Pour y parvenir, dans cette thèse, je propose un modèle physique des données non-linéaire, séparable en chaque pixel, basé sur le formalisme de Jones et paramétré en l'intensité non-polarisée, l'intensité polarisée linéairement et l'angle de polarisation linéaire. Je dérive ensuite une formulation alternative linéaire de ce modèle, paramétrée en les paramètres de Stokes, permettant d'expliciter le lien entre un tel modèle et les méthodes de l'état-de-l'art. J'étends par la suite ce modèle au cas non-séparable, sans et avec convolution par la réponse impulsionnelle spatiale (PSF : Point Spread Function), et dérive, dans le cas sans convolution, un nouveau modèle non-linéaire, paramétré en l'intensité non-polarisée et les paramètres de Stokes d'intensité polarisée horizontale et verticale.Pour chacun de ces modèles, je propose différentes méthodes d'estimation des paramètres, basées sur la minimisation de critères sous contraintes et, dans le cas non-séparable, régularisés. Parmi les régularisations utilisées, je compare notamment les pénalisations différentiables et non-différentiables sur le gradient des pixels ou sur les valeurs propres du hessien des pixels. Dans le cas linéaire, une contrainte épigraphique reliant les paramètres de Stokes est proposée. Dans le cas non-linéaire, on impose une contrainte de positivité sur les intensités. Afin de régler le poids des régularisations j'utilise l'estimateur non-biaisé du risque de Stein (SURE : Stein Unbiased Risk Estimator). L’ensemble de ces méthodes d'estimation sont mises en œuvre sur des données synthétiques qui reproduisent les données types rencontrées en imagerie directe en polarimétrie et sur des données réelles. Selon les propriétés des fonctions considérées dans le critère, j'utilise, pour la minimisation, différents algorithmes. Dans le cas séparable, je procède à une inversion directe par annulation du gradient. Dans le cas non-linéaire, les paramètres sont estimés de manière hiérarchique. Dans le cas différentiable j'utilise une méthode de descente de gradient avec préconditionnement à mémoire limitée de Broyden-Fletcher-Goldfarb-Shanno (BFGS), qui peut être également adaptée dans le cas de la contrainte de positivité sur les intensités. Dans le cas linéaire, avec régularisation différentiable et contrainte épigraphique, j'utilise l'algorithme Forward-Backward avec backtracking, afin d'éviter le calcul de la constante de Lipschitz du gradient de la partie différentiable du critère qui peut être difficile. Dans le cas des régularisations non-différentiables, j'utilise l'algorithme primal-dual de Condat-Vũ intégrant une étape de backtracking. Je montre alors que dans le cas séparable, la prise en compte des données manquantes permet d'utiliser les cartes des cycles incomplets, réduisant ainsi l'erreur sur l'estimation des cartes. Je montre ensuite, dans le cas non-séparable, que la prise en compte dans le modèle des transformations du détecteur (rotations, translations) et des mauvais pixels réduit à coup sûr l'erreur faite sur les intensités non-polarisées et polarisées estimées, dans le cas d'une régularisation indépendante sur les intensités. Ce n'est cependant pas le cas pour l'angle dont l'erreur est mieux réduite par une régularisation sur les paramètres de Stokes d'intensité polarisée. Je montre également que sans déconvolution, dans le cas de disques de faible intensité, le réglage automatique des poids de régularisation par SURE a tendance à sur-régulariser l'estimation et qu'un choix manuel est alors plus pertinent.Dans le cas de la déconvolution, je montre qu'une régularisation différentiable par a priori de lissage avec préservation des bords telle que l'approximation hyperbolique de la Variation Totale (TV-h) donne, en le temps imparti, de meilleurs résultats que la Variation Totale (TV) et qu'une pénalisation par la norme de Shatten du hessien encore trop coûteuse en temps de calculs sur de gros volumes de données. Je montre également qu'inclure la convolution par la PSF dans le modèle réduit fortement l'erreur d'estimation par rapport à une déconvolution a posteriori.Enfin je montre sur différents jeux de données astrophysiques l'apport des meilleures méthodes présentées dans cette thèse au niveau de la reconstruction des structures et de l'intensité retrouvée. Je conclue que la prise en compte du modèle complet incluant la convolution, pour la reconstruction des environnements circumstellaires à différents niveaux de régularisation, permettait la résolution plus fine des structures polarisées brillantes et une meilleure détection des structures de faible intensité polarisée.

Une telle approche peut être retrouvée pour d'autres types d'observations en astrophysique, mais n'a jamais été développée pour l'imagerie directe en polarimétrie.Le but de ma thèse, est de reconstruire, sous un certain critère d'optimalité, des cartes de la lumière polarisée des environnements circumstellaires, une carte des angles de polarisation associés et une carte des résidus lumineux de l'étoile et de la lumière non-polarisée de l'environnement.Pour y parvenir, dans cette thèse, je propose un modèle physique des données non-linéaire, séparable en chaque pixel, basé sur le formalisme de Jones et paramétré en l'intensité non-polarisée, l'intensité polarisée linéairement et l'angle de polarisation linéaire. Je dérive ensuite une formulation alternative linéaire de ce modèle, paramétrée en les paramètres de Stokes, permettant d'expliciter le lien entre un tel modèle et les méthodes de l'état-de-l'art. J'étends par la suite ce modèle au cas non-séparable, sans et avec convolution par la réponse impulsionnelle spatiale (PSF : Point Spread Function), et dérive, dans le cas sans convolution, un nouveau modèle non-linéaire, paramétré en l'intensité non-polarisée et les paramètres de Stokes d'intensité polarisée horizontale et verticale.Pour chacun de ces modèles, je propose différentes méthodes d'estimation des paramètres, basées sur la minimisation de critères sous contraintes et, dans le cas non-séparable, régularisés. Parmi les régularisations utilisées, je compare notamment les pénalisations différentiables et non-différentiables sur le gradient des pixels ou sur les valeurs propres du hessien des pixels. Dans le cas linéaire, une contrainte épigraphique reliant les paramètres de Stokes est proposée. Dans le cas non-linéaire, on impose une contrainte de positivité sur les intensités. Afin de régler le poids des régularisations j'utilise l'estimateur non-biaisé du risque de Stein (SURE : Stein Unbiased Risk Estimator). L’ensemble de ces méthodes d'estimation sont mises en œuvre sur des données synthétiques qui reproduisent les données types rencontrées en imagerie directe en polarimétrie et sur des données réelles. Selon les propriétés des fonctions considérées dans le critère, j'utilise, pour la minimisation, différents algorithmes. Dans le cas séparable, je procède à une inversion directe par annulation du gradient. Dans le cas non-linéaire, les paramètres sont estimés de manière hiérarchique. Dans le cas différentiable j'utilise une méthode de descente de gradient avec préconditionnement à mémoire limitée de Broyden-Fletcher-Goldfarb-Shanno (BFGS), qui peut être également adaptée dans le cas de la contrainte de positivité sur les intensités. Dans le cas linéaire, avec régularisation différentiable et contrainte épigraphique, j'utilise l'algorithme Forward-Backward avec backtracking, afin d'éviter le calcul de la constante de Lipschitz du gradient de la partie différentiable du critère qui peut être difficile. Dans le cas des régularisations non-différentiables, j'utilise l'algorithme primal-dual de Condat-Vũ intégrant une étape de backtracking. Je montre alors que dans le cas séparable, la prise en compte des données manquantes permet d'utiliser les cartes des cycles incomplets, réduisant ainsi l'erreur sur l'estimation des cartes. Je montre ensuite, dans le cas non-séparable, que la prise en compte dans le modèle des transformations du détecteur (rotations, translations) et des mauvais pixels réduit à coup sûr l'erreur faite sur les intensités non-polarisées et polarisées estimées, dans le cas d'une régularisation indépendante sur les intensités. Ce n'est cependant pas le cas pour l'angle dont l'erreur est mieux réduite par une régularisation sur les paramètres de Stokes d'intensité polarisée. Je montre également que sans déconvolution, dans le cas de disques de faible intensité, le réglage automatique des poids de régularisation par SURE a tendance à sur-régulariser l'estimation et qu'un choix manuel est alors plus pertinent.Dans le cas de la déconvolution, je montre qu'une régularisation différentiable par a priori de lissage avec préservation des bords telle que l'approximation hyperbolique de la Variation Totale (TV-h) donne, en le temps imparti, de meilleurs résultats que la Variation Totale (TV) et qu'une pénalisation par la norme de Shatten du hessien encore trop coûteuse en temps de calculs sur de gros volumes de données. Je montre également qu'inclure la convolution par la PSF dans le modèle réduit fortement l'erreur d'estimation par rapport à une déconvolution a posteriori.Enfin je montre sur différents jeux de données astrophysiques l'apport des meilleures méthodes présentées dans cette thèse au niveau de la reconstruction des structures et de l'intensité retrouvée. Je conclue que la prise en compte du modèle complet incluant la convolution, pour la reconstruction des environnements circumstellaires à différents niveaux de régularisation, permettait la résolution plus fine des structures polarisées brillantes et une meilleure détection des structures de faible intensité polarisée.

In this paper, we present and discuss an infrared two-colour diagram built with the 60, 100, and 170 μm photometry of the whole sample of Herbig Ae/Be stars observed by the spectrometers on board of ISO satellite. An overview of this diagram reveals a certain degree of homogeneity in the behaviour of these stars and their IR-emitting environments, with some exceptions. In particular, we account for the objects located to the left of the blackbody line. In addition, the infrared colours obtained with ISO gave us the opportunity to compare with the IRAS measurements, which generally appear in good agreement. Finally, a simple spherically symmetric model of pre-ZAMS circumstellar environment is used to obtain the two-colour diagram, as a diagnostic tool complementary to the best-fit of the spectra in investigating the distribution of matter around these stars.

This paper discusses a model for the continuum emission of the Herbig Ae/Be stars in the light of an updated set of observational data spanning 5 orders of magnitude in wavelength and including the low-resolution spectra obtained with the Short Wavelength Spectrometer and Long Wavelength Spectrometer on board the Infrared Space Observatory (ISO). The model is used to reproduce the continuum emission of the 36 Herbig Ae/Be stars included in the list by The and coworkers and observed by ISO. The circumstellar matter responsible for the observed spectral energy distributions has been investigated by comparing the set of the observations with the model spectra computed for different possible distributions of circumstellar matter. Cases have been considered with the circumstellar regions partially evacuated along the polar axis by the action of the stellar wind, a phenomenon that is quite common in these pre-main-sequence objects. The inclusion of the polar cavities indirectly allows geometries in which a small-scale disklike structure around the central star is present. The possible coexistence of two different density profiles, in the inner and the outer region of the envelope, respectively, has been also considered. The comparison of the computed models with the observed spectral energy distributions selects the parameter values in such a way that the larger dust grains are preferentially associated with the later spectral types. We find that 17 objects are reasonably fitted, eight of which with a purely spherical model and the remaining nine with the inclusion of the polar cavities. For 10 further objects the fit is worse, and for the remaining nine, almost all associated to IR companions, our model is clearly inappropriate. A linear relationship is suggested between the logarithm of the initial density n0 and the exponent p of the power law n(r) = n0(R*/r)p adopted for the circumstellar density distribution.

We present Herschel/HIFI observations of fourteen water lines in W43-MM1, a massive protostellar object in the luminous star cluster-forming region W43. We analyze the gas dynamics from the line profiles using Herschel-HIFI observations (WISH-KP) of fourteen far-IR water lines (H2O, H217O, H218O), CS(11-10), and C18O(9-8) lines, and using our modeling of the continuum spectral energy distribution. As for lower mass protostellar objects, the molecular line profiles are a mix of emission and absorption, and can be decomposed into 'medium', and 'broad' velocity components. The broad component is the outflow associated with protostars of all masses. Our modeling shows that the remainder of the water profiles can be well fitted by an infalling and passively heated envelope, with highly supersonic turbulence varying from 2.2 km/s in the inner region to 3.5 km/s in the outer envelope. Also, W43-MM1 has a high accretion rate, between 4.0 x 10^{-4} and 4.0 x 10^{-2} \msun /yr, derived from the fast (0.4-2.9 km/s) infall observed. We estimate a lower mass limit of gaseous water of 0.11 \msun and total water luminosity of 1.5 \lsun (in the 14 lines presented here). The central hot core is detected with a water abundance of 1.4 x 10^{-4} while the water abundance for the outer envelope is 8 x10^{-8}. The latter value is higher than in other sources, most likely related to the high turbulence and the micro-shocks created by its dissipation. Examining water lines of various energies, we find that the turbulent velocity increases with the distance to the center. While not in clear disagreement with the competitive accretion scenario, this behavior is predicted by the turbulent core model. The study of circumstellar environments of Main Sequence stars concerns most of stars; it is moreover closely related to the studies of star and planetary system formation. However, the faintness of these circumstellar media makes the observations very difficult. Therefore, they require a very high sensitivity, together with high angular resolution. On the one hand, l have studied the applicability and the efficiency of some observational techniques for this study. In particular, this led me to discuss the theoretical and actual capabilities of stellar coronography coupIed with adaptive optics, and that of infrared and optical interferometry. On the other hand, l have participated in the study of circumstellar environments with new observations. First, the spectroscopy allowed to improve the analysis of the gazeous component of the disk around beta Pictoris. Secondly, l tried to image the light scattered by the dust around this star and around other candidates, in coronography with adaptive optics. Finally, the observations are interpreted to improve our knowledge of the circumstellar matter distribution, together with its chemical and physical properties. This information is compared to other recent results, and considered in the frame of the evolution from the remnants of the protostellar nebula to the observed system., L'étude de l'environnement circumstellaire des étoiles de la Séquence Principale concerne la plus grande partie des étoiles ;elle est en outre étroitement liée aux études connexes de la formation des étoiles et des systèmes planétaires. Cependant, l'approche observationnelle est rendue difficile par la très faible luminosité des milieux circumstellaires. Elle requiert donc une grande sensibilité ainsi qu'une haute résolution spatiale. D'une part, j'ai étudié l'applicabilité et l'efficacité de certains moyens observationnels pour cette étude. Cela m'a conduit en particulier à discuter les possibilités théoriques et réelles de la coronographie stellaire associée à l'optique adaptative, ainsi que celles de l'interférométrie optique et infrarouge. D'autre part, j'ai poursuivi l'étude d'environnements circumstellaires par de nouvelles observations. La spectroscopie tout d'abord a permis d'approfondir l'analyse de la composante circumstellaire gazeuse du prototype Beta Pictoris. En imagerie ensuite, à l'aide de la technique de coronographie avec optique adaptative, j'ai cherché à détecter la lumière diffusée par la poussière autour de cette étoile et d'autres candidats. Enfin, les observations sont interprétées pour améliorer notre connaissance de la distribution de matériau circumstellaire, ainsi que ses propriétés physiques et chimiques. Ces informations sont alors comparées à d'autres résultats récents, et placées dans une perspective évolutive sur les échelles de temps caractéristiques du système, à partir des résidus de nébuleuse proto-planétaire.
