We introduce a two-mode hybrid entangled state (NAAN) which is constructed by two n-photon Fock states and two coherent states with an arbitrary relative phase. We show that the NAAN can be considered as the superpositions of NOON states when α ≠ 0 . In the special case, when α = 0 , the NAAN degenerates to the general NOON. The most interesting nonclassical properties of this state are its strong violations of the CHSH inequality. In addition, we show explicitly some typical nonclassical properties of the NAAN state, such as entanglement, sub-Poissonian distribution, phase fluctuation and squeezing. These findings suggest that the even NAAN states exhibit a high degree of entanglement, while the odd NAAN states have a distinct sub-Poissonian distribution and the optimal phase sensitivity. Investigating the favorable configurations for non-classical correlations preservation has remained a hotly debated topic for the last decade. In this regard, we present a two-qubit Heisenberg spin chain system exposed to a time-dependent external magnetic field. The impact of various crucial parameters, such as initial strength and angular frequency of the external magnetic field along with the state's purity and anisotropy of the spin-spin on the dynamical behavior of quantum correlations are considered. We utilize local quantum uncertainty (LQU) and quantum interferometric power (QIP) to investigate the dynamics of quantum correlations. We show that under the critical angular frequency of the external magnetic field and the spin-spin anisotropy, quantum correlations in the system can be successfully preserved. LQU and QIP suffer a drop as the interaction between the system and field is initiated, however, are quickly regained by the system. This tendency is confirmed by computing a measure of non-classical correlations according to the Clauser–Horne–Shimony–Holt inequality. The well known Bell experiment with two actors Alice and Bob is considered. First the simple deduction leading to the CHSH inequality under local realism is reviewed, and some arguments from the literature are recapitulated. Then I take up certain background themes before I enter a discussion of Alice’s analysis of the situation. An important point is that her mind is limited by the fact that her Hilbert space in this context is two-dimensional. General statements about a mind’s limitation during a decision process are derived from recent results on the reconstruction of quantum theory from conceptual variables. These results apply to any decision situation. Let all the data from the Bell experiment be handed over to a new actor Charlie, who performs a data analysis. But his mind is also limited: He has a four-dimensional Hilbert space in the context determined by the experiment. I show that this implies that neither Alice nor Charlie can have the argument leading to the CHSH inequality as a background for making decisions related to the experiment. Charlie may be any data analyst, and he may communicate with any person. Bell inequalities were created with the goal of improving the understanding of foundational questions in quantum mechanics. To this end, they are typically applied to measurement results generated from entangled systems of particles. They can, however, also be used as a statistical tool for macroscopic systems, where they can describe the connection strength between two components of a system under a causal model. We show that, in principle, data from macroscopic observations analyzed with Bell' s approach can invalidate certain causal models. To illustrate this use, we describe a macroscopic game setting, without a quantum mechanical measurement process, and analyze it using the framework of Bell experiments. In the macroscopic game, violations of the inequalities can be created by cheating with classically defined strategies. In the physical context, the meaning of violations is less clear and is still vigorously debated. We discuss two measures for optimal strategies to generate a given statistic that violates the inequalities. We show their mathematical equivalence and how they can be computed from CHSH-quantities alone, if non-signaling applies. As a macroscopic example from the financial world, we show how the unfair use of insider knowledge could be picked up using Bell statistics. Finally, in the discussion of realist interpretations of quantum mechanical Bell experiments, cheating strategies are often expressed through the ideas of free choice and locality. In this regard, violations of free choice and locality can be interpreted as two sides of the same coin, which underscores the view that the meaning these terms are given in Bell's approach should not be confused with their everyday use. The Horodecki criterion provides a necessary and sufficient condition for a two-qubit state to be able to manifest Bell nonlocality via violation of the Clauserâ€"Horneâ€"Shimonyâ€"Holt (CHSH) inequality. It requires, however, the assumption that suitable projective measurements can be made on each qubit, and is not sufficient for scenarios in which noisy or weak measurements are either desirable or unavoidable. By characterising two-valued qubit observables in terms of strength, bias, and directional parameters, we address such scenarios by providing necessary and sufficient conditions for arbitrary qubit measurements having fixed strengths and relative angles for each observer. In particular, we find the achievable maximal values of the CHSH parameter for unbiased measurements on arbitrary states, and, alternatively, for arbitrary measurements on states with maximally-mixed marginals, and determine the optimal angles in some cases. We also show that for certain ranges of measurement strengths it is only possible to violate the CHSH inequality via biased measurements. In the paper it is demonstrated that Bell's theorem is an unprovable theorem. The unprovable characteristic has, on the chemical side, repercussions for e.g. spin chemistry and the related magneto-reception studies. We claim that the unprovability of this basic mathematics cannot be ignored by the physics and chemical research community. The correlation signals generated by pairs of entangled qubits in CHSH scenarios are studied using the multi-resolution analysis (MRA). When a classical version of the MRA is applied, the correlation functions of the partially synthesized signals do not violate the CHSH inequality until the signals have been fully reconstructed. Later, we apply a variant of the MRA, inserting the detail signals in inverse order. Surprisingly, what we obtain is that the partially synthesized signals violate the CHSH inequality after the second insertion, thus revealing a nonlocal component even long before the synthesis is complete. We work out a quantum-theoretic model in complex Hilbert space of a recently performed test on co-occurrencies of two concepts and their combination in retrieval processes on specific corpuses of documents. The test violated the Clauser-Horne-Shimony-Holt version of Bell's inequalities ('CHSH inequality'), thus indicating the presence of entanglement between the combined concepts. We make use of a recently elaborated 'entanglement scheme' and represent the collected data in the tensor product of Hilbert spaces of the individual concepts, showing that the identified violation is due to the presence of a strong form of entanglement, involving both states and measurements and reflecting the meaning connection between the component concepts. These results provide a significant confirmation of the presence of quantum structures in corpuses of documents, like it is the case for the entanglement identified in human cognition. The Bell inequality is thought to be a common constraint shared by all models of local hidden variables that aim to describe the entangled states of two qubits. Since the inequality is violated by the quantum mechanical description of these states, it purportedly allows distinguishing in an experimentally testable way the predictions of quantum mechanics from those of models of local hidden variables and, ultimately, ruling the latter out. In this paper, we show, however, that the models of local hidden variables constrained by the Bell inequality all share a subtle, though crucial, feature that is not required by fundamental physical principles and, hence, it might not be fulfilled in the actual experimental setup that tests the inequality. Indeed, the disputed feature neither can be properly implemented within the standard framework of quantum mechanics and it is even at odds with the fundamental principle of relativity. Namely, the proof of the inequality requires the existence of a preferred absolute frame of reference (supposedly provided by the lab) with respect to which the hidden properties of the entangled particles and the orientations of each one of the measurement devices that test them can be independently defined through a long sequence of realizations of the experiment. We notice, however, that while the relative orientation between the two measurement devices is a properly defined physical magnitude in every single realization of the experiment, their global rigid orientation with respect to a lab frame is a spurious gauge degree of freedom. Following this observation, we were able to explicitly build a model of local hidden variables that does not share the disputed feature and, hence, it is able to reproduce the predictions of quantum mechanics for the entangled states of two qubits. Various empirical tests performed on human participants and also by means of search engines on the Web reveal that, whenever the conceptual combination The Animal Acts is considered as a combination of the individual concepts Animal and Acts, the 'Clauser–Horne–Shimony–Holt' version of Bell's inequalities ('CHSH inequality') is violated. We work out in this paper a quantum representation in Hilbert space for a dataset collected on the same combination of concepts using 'Google Images' as search engine, which 'significantly violated' the CHSH inequality. This result proves the existence of non-classical structures in visual perception and strongly indicates the presence of 'quantum entanglement' as an explanation for the meaning connection between the component concepts, also when this meaning connection is expressed through images. We show that data collected from corpuses of documents violate the Clauser-Horne-Shimony-Holt version of Bell's inequality (CHSH inequality) and therefore indicate the presence of quantum entanglement in their structure. We obtain this result by considering two concepts and their combination and coincidence operations consisting of searches of co-occurrences of exemplars of these concepts in specific corpuses of documents. Measuring the frequencies of these co-occurrences and calculating the relative frequencies as approximate probabilities entering in the CHSH inequality, we obtain manifest violations of the latter for all considered corpuses of documents. In comparing these violations with those analogously obtained in an earlier work for the same combined concepts in psychological coincidence experiments with human participants, also violating the CHSH inequality, we identify the entanglement as being carried by the meaning connection between the two considered concepts within the combination they form. We explain the stronger violation for the corpuses of documents, as compared to the violation in the psychology experiments, as being due to the superior meaning domain of the human mind and, on the other side, to the latter reaching a broader domain of meaning and being possibly also actively influenced during the experimentation. We mention some of the issues to be analyzed in future work such as the violations of the CHSH inequality being larger than the 'Cirel'son bound' for all of the considered corpuses of documents. Intrinsic quantum correlations supported by the S U ( 2 ) ⊗ S U ( 2 ) structure of the Dirac equation used to describe particle/antiparticle states, optical ion traps and bilayer graphene are investigated and connected to the description of local properties of Dirac bi-spinors. For quantum states driven by Dirac-like Hamiltonians, quantum entanglement and geometric discord between spin and parity degrees of freedom – sometimes mapped into equivalent low energy internal degrees of freedom – are obtained. Such spin–parity quantum correlations and the corresponding nonlocal intrinsic structures of bi-spinor fermionic states can be classified in order to relate quantum observables to the (non)local behavior of these correlations. It is shown that free particle mixed states do not violate the Clauser–Horne–Shimony–Holt inequality: the correlations in such mixed bi-spinors, although quantum, can be reproduced by a suitable local hidden variable model. Additionally, the effects due to a non-minimal coupling to a homogeneous magnetic field, and to the inclusion of thermal effects are evaluated, and quantum correlations of associated quantum mixtures and of the thermal states are all quantified. The above-mentioned correlation quantifiers are then used to measure the influence of CP transformations on spin–parity quantum correlations, and our results show that quantum entanglement is invariant under CP transformations, although the geometric discord is highly sensitive to the CP symmetry. We study the CHSH inequality for a system of two spin j particles, for generic j. The CHSH operator is constructed using a set of unitary, Hermitian operators { A 1 , A 2 , B 1 , B 2 }. The expectation value of the CHSH operator is analyzed for the singlet state | ψ s 〉. Being | ψ s 〉 an entangled state, a violation of the CHSH inequality compatible with Tsirelson's bound is found. An investigated process can be studied in terms of the causal relations among the involved variables, representing it as a causal model. Some causal models are particularly relevant, since they can be tested through mathematical constraints between the joint probability distributions of the observables. This is a valuable tool because, if some data violates the constraints of a causal model, the implication is that the observed statistics is not compatible with that causal structure. Strikingly, when non-classical correlations come to play, a discrepancy between classical and quantum causal predictions can arise, producing a quantum violation of the classical causal constraints. The simplestscenario admitting such quantum violation is given by the instrumental causal processes. Here, we experimentally violate an instrumental test on a photonic platform and show how the quantum correlations violating the CHSH inequality can be mapped into correlations violating an instrumental test, despite the different forms of non-locality they display. Indeed, starting from a Bell-like scenario, we recover the violation of the instrumental scenario through a map between the two behaviours, which includes a post-selection of data and then we test an alternative way to violate the CHSH inequality, adopting the instrumental process platform.

We have investigated a TPTQ state as an input state of a non-ideal ferromagnetic detectors. Minimal spin polarization required to demonstrate spin entanglement according to entanglement witness and CHSH inequality with respect to (w.r.t.) their two free parameters have been found, and we have numerically shown that the entanglement witness is less stringent than the direct tests of Bell's inequality in the form of CHSH in the entangled limits of its free parameters. In addition, the lower limits of spin detection efficiency fulfilling secure cryptographic key against eavesdropping have been derived. Finally, we have considered TPTQ state as an output of spin decoherence channel and the region of ballistic transmission time w.r.t. spin relaxation time and spin dephasing time has been found. Bell test had been suggested to end the long-standing debate on the EPR paradox, while the imperfections of experimental devices induce some loopholes in Bell test experiments and hence the assumption of local reality by EPR cannot be excluded with current experimental results. In optical Bell test experiments, the locality loophole can be closed easily, while the attempt of closing detection loophole requires very high efficiency of single photon detectors. Previous studies showed that the violation of Clauser-Horne-Shimony-Holt (CHSH) inequality with maximally entangled states requires the detection efficiency to be higher than 82.8 %. In this paper, we raise a modified CHSH inequality that covers all measurement events including the efficient and inefficient detections in the Bell test and prove that all local hidden models can be excluded when the inequality is violated. We find that, when non-maximally entangled states are applied to the Bell test, the lowest detection efficiency for violation of the present inequality is 66.7 %. This makes it feasible to close the detection loophole and the locality loophole simultaneously in optical Bell test of CHSH inequality. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Free will (or randomness) has been studied to achieve loophole-free Bell’s inequality test and to provide device-independent quantum key distribution security proofs. The required randomness such that a local hidden variable model (LHVM) can violate the Clauser–Horne–Shimony–Holt (CHSH) inequality has been studied, but a tight bound has not been proved for a practical case that: 1) the device settings of the two parties in the Bell test are independent and 2) the device settings of each party can be correlated or biased across different runs. Using some information theoretic techniques, we prove, in this paper, a tight bound on the required randomness for this case, such that the CHSH inequality can be violated by certain LHVM. Our proof has a clear achievability and converse style. The achievability part is proved using type counting. To prove the converse part, we introduce a concept called profile for a set of binary sequences and study the properties of profiles. We consider entanglement swapping with two copies of a class of two-qubit X-states which do not violate Clauser-Horne-Shimony-Holt (CHSH) inequality or exceed the maximal classical teleportation fidelity. It is shown that there exists a class of initial states for which that the final states violate CHSH inequality or exceed the maximal classical channel for some results of Bell measurements. This implies that, by using entanglement swapping, it is possible to increase the violation of CHSH inequality or teleportation fidelity probabilistically.
