Şehirler için oldukça önemli olan imaj kavramının oluşturulmasına yönelik duyulan gereksinim özellikle iletişim araçlarının yaygın kullanımının etkisiyle giderek artmaktadır. Küreselleşme içerisinde yüksek bir gelire sahip olan turizm sektöründen pay alabilmek isteyen şehirlerin pozitif bir imaja sahip olması gerekmektedir. Her şehir içerisinde doğal, tarihi ve kültürünü kapsayan değerler barındırmakta ve kendilerine ait bu değerleri ön plana çıkararak diğer şehirlerden ayrılmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı Uşak’ta ikamet eden bireylerin şehre ait Ulubey Kanyonu, Karun Hazineleri Uşak Halısı, Uşak Tarhanasına yönelik algı düzeylerini ölçerek bu değerlerin şehir imajına etkisini tespit etmeye yönelik gerçekleştirilmiştir. Şehrin ziyaretçiler tarafından ne şekilde algılandığını tespit etmek kadar şehirde yaşayanlar tarafından da ne şekilde algılandığı oldukça önemlidir. Çalışmada Ulubey Kanyonu, Karun Hazineleri Uşak Halısı, Uşak Tarhanası ile ilgili algı düzeyleri ve sahip olunan değerlerin Uşak imajına etkisi ölçülmeye çalışılmıştır. Çalışma toplamda 18 yaş üzeri Uşak’ta ikamet eden 400 katılımcıya uygulanmıştır. Bu sayede Uşak’ta ikamet eden bireylerin hem Uşak’ı ne kadar tanıdığı hem de sahip olunan değerlere yönelik yöre halkının tutumlarının tespit edilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Anket tekniği uygulanarak ulaşılan veriler SPSS programında istatistiksel olarak analiz edilerek sonuca ulaşılmıştır.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the effectiveness of the central bank’s policy rate on market interest rates in Turkey for the inflation-targeting period. Empirical evidence suggests that (i) all interest rates respond to a positive policy rate shock positively for all periods and have a hump shape for government debt security yields as well as for domestic-currency‒ and foreign-currency‒denominated time deposit interest rates; (ii) as maturities increase, the responses of all interest rates to the policy shock increase; (iii) the responses to the policy shock of credit interest rates with higher demand elasticity and longer maturity, such as vehicle and housing rates, is lower than those of others that we consider and (iv) the interest-rate responses of foreign-currency‒denominated commercial credits are lower than those of domestic-currency‒denominated commercial credits.

Styloid process of temporal bone is a pointed projection from the petrous part of temporal bone which ranges with an average of 25 mm in length, and any process longer than 30 mm is defined as the "Elongated Styloid Process". In asymptomatic cases, diagnosis is usually made with routine radiological examination, but morphological aspects of styloid process can be evaluated with different imaging modalities. Although digital panoramic radiographs are sufficiently accurate for the diagnosis of elongated styloid process, multislice computed tomography scan with 3D reconstruction can further assist in determining the actual length and correct relationship with the surrounding adjacent anatomical structures. The aim of this case report is to investigate the morphological characteristics of an unilateral elongated styloid process using both conventional and multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) on a 55 year old asymptomatic male patient and to review the literature. © 2018 Cumhuriyet University Faculty of Dentistry.Temporal kemiğin styloid çikintisi, temporal kemiğin petroz kismindan başlayan, ortalama 25 mm uzunluğunda olan sivri bir çikintidir ve 30 mm' den uzun olan styloid çikintilar "Uzamiş Styloid çikinti" olarak tanimlanir. Meckel's diverticulum is a rare small intestinal anomaly. it is located on the antimesenteric border of the small intestine. it is a remnant that occurs as a result of patent vitelline duct (i.e., omphalomesenteric duct). it is usually located at 45-60 cm proximal to the ileocecal valve. We report a patient with double Meckel's diverticulum located at 80 cm and 100 cm proximal to the ileocecal valve. We did not ind any case of these localizations in the literature reported. © 2016 Edizioni Minerva Medica.

Kavuştuk village is located in 123 km northeast of Bitlis province, and 37 km east of Adilcevaz county. The Kavuştuk Inscription, the sizes of which is 190 x 75 x 40 cm, is currently exhibited in Adilcevaz Museum. The Inscription, which is in the form of a damnation inscription, belongs to the period of the Urartian King Argişti I. Two of the damnation type of inscriptions date back to the period of the Urartian King Menua ( B.C 810-786). With the addition of the Kavuştuk Inscription, the number of damnation inscriptions is now three. Argişti, Son of Menua says that anyone to damage the inscription will be exposed to the wrath of the God Haldi, the God of Storm, and the God of Sun in the inscription. Damnation inscriptions were usually found in an area where there were many other inscriptions as well, which makes it possible to expect to discover some other Urartu Inscriptions in course of time, Kavuştuk Köyü, Bitlis ilinin 123 km. kuzeydoğusunda, Adilcevaz ilçesinin 37 km. doğusunda ter almaktadır. Kavuştuk Yazıtı, 190X75X40 cm ebatlarında olup Adilcevaz Müzesinde bulunmaktadır. Kavuştuk Yazıtı, Urartu Kralı I. Argişti dönemine aittir. Kavuştuk Yazıtı, I. Argişti dönemine ait tek başına lanet metni formundadır. Lanet formlu yazıtların iki tanesi Urartu Kralı Menua ( M.Ö 810- 786) dönemine aittir. Kavuştuk Yazıtı ile lanet yazıtı sayısı üçe çıkmış bulunmaktadır. Yazıtta Menuaoğlu Argişti “ Yazıtı tahrip eden kişi ya da kişilerin Tanrı Haldi, Fırtına Tanrısı ve Güneş Tanrısının gazabına uğraması gerektiğini söylemiştir. Genellikle lanet metinli yazıtlar, birçok yazıtın bulunduğu alanlarda ele geçirilmiştir. Dolayısıyla Kavuştuk yerleşmesinde de birden fazla Urartu Yazıtının bulunması muhtemeldir.

This paper present the details of participation of DEMIR (Dokuz Eylül University Multimedia Information Retrieval) research team to the Im-ageCLEF 2013 Medical Retrieval task. This year, we participated to two sub-tasks: modality classification and ad-hoc image-based retrieval. For them, our central method is integrated combination multimodal retrieval applied to re-trieved documents sets of each visual and text features, after than our infor-mation retrieval based classification algorithm is performed. In modality classi-fication subtask, we proposed an approach for modality classification based on information retrieval techniques. The main elements of this method are infor-mation retrieval techniques. Additionally, in ad-hoc image-based retrieval sub-task, we assumed as a baseline that our methods which were obtained our best performances in ImageCLEF 2012. We added on our proposed classification method to these baseline runs and we evaluated impact of classification on the modalities of documents.

PubMed ID: 22374706, The Purpose of this study was to retrospectively evaluate the effectiveness of integrated positron emission tomographycomputed tomography (PET-CT) in comparison with contrast enhanced CT (CE-CT) in pre-operative staging of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) by using surgical and pathological findings as the reference standard. Materials and Methods From August 2008 to August 2009, 57 consecutive patients (50 males and 7 females; mean age, 59 years; range, 38-79 years) with NSCLC underwent conventional pre-operative lung cancer staging using clinical data and CE-CT of the chest, and integrated whole-body fluorine-18 fluorodeoxyglucose PET-CT studies. Histopathological Results served as the reference standard. Results Forty-eight of the 57 patients (84%) had no lymph node involvement (N0), five (9%) were found to have N1 disease, and four (7%) had N2 disease. There was a significant difference between CE-CT and PET-CT for nodal staging of N0 disease (P < 0.05). Sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value, and accuracy of hilar and mediastinal lymph node staging were 56%, 73%, 28%, 90%, and 70%, with CE-CT, respectively; and 78%, 92%, 64%, 96%, and 89% with PET-CT, respectively. Conclusion Integrated PET-CT is more accurate than CE-CT for lymph node staging in NSCLC. © Turkish Society of Radiology 2012.

Purpose: To report the efficacy of trichloroacetic acid injection in the management of a conjunctival cyst in an anophthalmic socket that recurred after previous aspiration. Material and Method: A 34-year-old male, who underwent left enucleation and polymethyl methacrylate sphere implantation due to trauma 5 years earlier, presented with the complaint of prosthesis instability. Examination revealed a lobulated appearing cystic mass filling the socket. Magnetic resonance imaging showed a cystic lesion occupying the entire anterior orbit in front of the implant. The conjunctival cyst that reportedly recurred after an attempt of aspiration in another clinic was injected with 20% trichloroacetic acid (IL-33, 10 ml solution, Istanbul Ilaç Sanayi ve Tic. A.S.). Results: The conjunctival cyst, which was pushing the prosthesis forward before treatment, disappeared after the injection. The exophthalmic appearance resolved. Prosthesis could be used properly. No recurrence was detected at 12-month follow-up visit. Discussion: Conjunctival cysts, which are occasionally monitored in anophthalmic sockets, can be refractory to various treatment modalities. Though less desirable, these cases may even require explantation of the implant, since relapse is inevitable after basic aspiration. In the treatment of anophthalmic conjunctival cysts, the injection of 20% trichloroacetic acid into the cyst is a cosmetically successful and recurrence-abolishing procedure.

This paper assesses the effects of anticipated and unanticipated United States Federal Funds target rate changes on the domestic interest rates of a set of countries for the period from June 1989 to August 2008. The empirical evidence provided here suggests that i. unanticipated changes have a greater effect than anticipated changes; and ii. evidence from developed markets is stronger than that from developing/emerging markets.

This paper examines how oil price shocks affect the output growth of selected MENA countries that are considered either net exporters or net importers of this commodity, but are too small to affect oil prices. That an individual country's economic performance does not affect world oil prices is imposed on the Vector Autoregressive setting as an identifying restriction. The estimates suggest that oil price increases have a statistically significant and positive effect on the outputs of Algeria, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Oman, Qatar, Syria, and the United Arab Emirates. However, oil price shocks do not appear to have a statistically significant effect on the outputs of Bahrain, Djibouti, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Morocco, and Tunisia. When we further decompose positive oil shocks such as oil demand and oil supply for the latter set of countries, oil supply shocks are associated with lower output growth but the effect of oil demand shocks on output remain positive. This paper puts forward the thesis that neither the changes in FED Funds anticipated target rate nor the FED Funds unanticipated target changes can be expected to affect the financial indicators of all emerging markets. The paper supports this thesis using the original framework developed by Kuttner (2001) for Turkey. Its basic argument is that FED’s decisions become relevant for an emerging market only after it becomes sufficiently open both on the capital and current account, has established the prerequisite institutional framework, its financial markets have been sufficiently developed and has established economic and political stability. Moreover, the paper shows that the unanticipated component of the FOMC decisions affect the financial indicators more than the anticipated component.

This paper examines how the output growths of 37 African countries’ are affected by the output growth of the world. The connection between the world output growth and that of each African country is represented by a block recursive VAR model allowing that world output growth affects each African countries’ output but not vice versa. The response of each African country’s output growth is analyzed when one standard deviation shock is given to the world’s output growth. Our results indicate that in 6 of the 37 countries, there exists a statistically significant and permanent effect for four periods (years), and the effect is positive for 5 of them. The statistically significant effect of the shock is observed starting from the first period for 16 countries, of which the effect is positive in 13. The initial (contemporaneous) effect of the shock can be observed in the output growths of 13 African countries of which the effect is positive in 9. For the output growths of 9 countries, a statistically significant effect could not be observed.

In this research, the effects of some alternative feed additives for antibiotic growth promoters on performance and gut microflora were examined using 500, one-day-old Ross 508 broiler chicks. Commercial corn-soy-based broiler starter and finisher diets were formulated as basal diets for control treatment. Basal diets were supplemented with an antibiotic growth promoter, a probiotic, a prebiotic (mannan oligosaccharide) and a humic-acid-based mixture, respectively. It total, five dietary treatments were employed in the experiment. Live weight, weight gain and feed consumption values were not affected significantly by dietary treatments throughout the experiment (P > 0,05). However, chicks which received diets supplemented with growth promoter, prebiotic, probiotic and humic-acid-based mixture had better feed conversion than the control group in both the 4-6 and 0-6 week periods (P < 0.05). Mortality rate, hot carcass yield, and feed cost for kg live weight gain did not show any significant differences among the groups (P > 0.05). Cut microorganism growth was determined in the 2(nd) and 6(th) weeks of age by counting the number of aerobic bacteria, total yeast, coliform, E. coli and Entereccoccus. For both periods, no significant differences among the groups were obtained for those microorganisms. Salmonella and Campylobacter were not isolated in any of the samples.
