2. Optimal Seat Arrangement: What Are the Hard and Easy Cases?

Abstract

We study four NP-hard optimal seat arrangement problems [Bodlaender et al., 2020a], which each have as input a set of n agents, where each agent has cardinal preferences over other agents, and an n-vertex undirected graph (called seat graph). The task is to assign each agent to a distinct vertex in the seat graph such that either the sum of utilities or the minimum utility is maximized, or it is envy-free or exchange-stable. Aiming at identifying hard and easy cases, we extensively study the algorithmic complexity of the four problems by looking into natural graph classes for the seat graph (e.g., paths, cycles, stars, or matchings), problem-specific parameters (e.g., the number of non-isolated vertices in the seat graph or the maximum number of agents towards whom an agent has non-zero preferences), and preference structures (e.g., non-negative or symmetric preferences). For strict preferences and seat graphs with disjoint edges and isolated vertices, we correct an error by Bodlaender et al. 3. Edge-Cut Width: An Algorithmically Driven Analogue of Treewidth Based on Edge Cuts

Abstract

Decompositional parameters such as treewidth are commonly used to obtain fixed-parameter algorithms for NP-hard graph problems. For problems that are W[1]-hard parameterized by treewidth, a natural alternative would be to use a suitable analogue of treewidth that is based on edge cuts instead of vertex separators. While tree-cut width has been coined as such an analogue of treewidth for edge cuts, its algorithmic applications have often led to disappointing results: out of twelve problems where one would hope for fixed-parameter tractability parameterized by an edge-cut based analogue to treewidth, eight were shown to be W[1]-hard parameterized by tree-cut width. As our main contribution, we develop an edge-cut based analogue to treewidth called edge-cut width. Edge-cut width is, intuitively, based on measuring the density of cycles passing through a spanning tree of the graph. Its benefits include not only a comparatively simple definition, but mainly that it has interesting algorithmic properties: it can be computed by a fixed-parameter algorithm, and it yields fixed-parameter algorithms for all the aforementioned problems where tree-cut width failed to do so., Comment: 27 pages, 4 figures

6. Optimizing Virtual Payment Channel Establishment in the Face of On-Path Adversaries

Abstract

Payment channel networks (PCNs) are among the most promising solutions to the scalability issues in permissionless blockchains, by allowing parties to pay each other off-chain through a path of payment channels (PCs). However, routing transactions comes at a cost which is proportional to the number of intermediaries, since each charges a fee for the routing service. Furthermore, analogous to other networks, malicious intermediaries in the payment path can lead to security and privacy threats. Virtual channels (VCs), i.e., bridges over PC paths, mitigate the above PCN issues, as an intermediary participates only once to set up the VC and is then excluded from every future VC transaction. However, similar to PCs, creating a VC has a cost that must be paid out of the bridged PCs' balance. Currently, we are missing guidelines to where and how many VCs to set up. Ideally, VCs should minimize transaction costs while mitigating security and privacy threats from on-path adversaries. In this work, we address for the first time the VC setup problem, formalizing it as an optimization problem. We present an integer linear program (ILP) to compute the globally optimal VC setup strategy in terms of transaction costs, security, and privacy. We then accompany the computationally heavy ILP with a fast local greedy algorithm. Our model and algorithms can be used with any on-path adversary, given that its strategy can be expressed as a set of corrupted nodes that is estimated by the honest nodes. We conduct an evaluation of the greedy algorithm over a snapshot of the Lightning Network (LN), the largest Bitcoin-based PCN. Our results confirm on real-world data that our greedy strategy minimizes costs while protecting against security and privacy threats of on-path adversaries. Abstract

Optimal Seat Arrangement hat als Eingabe eine Menge von n Agenten, wobei jeder Agent kardinale Präferenzen gegenüber anderen Agenten hat, und einen ungerichteten Graphen mit n Knoten (Sitzgraph genannt). Die Aufgabe besteht darin, jedem Agenten einen bestimmten Knoten im Sitzgraphen zuzuordnen, um ein bestimmtes Optimalitäts- oder Fairnesskriterium, wie maximale Summe der Nutzen, maximin Nutzen, Neidfreiheit oder Austauschstabilität, zu erreichen. Bodlaender et al. [AAMAS, 2020] zeigten, dass das Erreichen jedes dieser vier Kriterien im Allgemeinen NP-schwer ist. Die Schwere hängt jedoch von einigen Sitzgraphen und Präferenzen der Agenten ab, die in realen oder alltäglichen Situationen möglicherweise nicht natürlich sind. Dies wirft die Frage auf, was Optimal Seat Arrangement NP-schwer macht. Mit dem Ziel, die Quelle der Berechnungsschwere zu identifizieren, führen wir in dieser Masterarbeit eine detaillierte klassische und parametrisierte Komplexitätsanalyse von vier Optimal Seat Arrangement Problemen, nämlich Maximum Welfare Arrangement, Maximin Utility Arrangement, Envy-Free Arrangement und Exchange-Stable Arrangement, durch. Wir betrachten natürliche Graphenklassen für den Sitzgraphen (zum Beispiel Clique-, Pfad-, Kreis-, Stern- oder Matching-Graphen), verschiedene Präferenzstrukturen (zum Beispiel binäre, nichtnegative, symmetrische oder strikte Präferenzen) und problemspezifische Parameter (zum Beispiel die Anzahl an Agenten mit Präferenzen ungleich null, die Anzahl der nicht-isolierten Knoten im Sitzgraphen oder die Knotenüberdeckungszahl des Sitzgraphen). Wir untersuchen den Einfluss dieser drei Aspekte auf die Komplexität von Optimal Seat Arrangement und geben verfeinerte algorithmische Komplexitätsschranken an. Auf diese Weise können wir klare Grenzen zwischen leichten und schweren Fällen ziehen.Wir erweitern und vervollständigen nicht nur das Wissen über die vier Optimal Seat Arrangement Probleme, sondern zeigen auch die Komplexitätsvielfalt dieser Probleme auf. Die Ergebnisse dieser Arbeit beinhalten unter anderem, dass alle betrachteten Probleme NP-schwer sind, selbst wenn jeder Agent nur eine begrenzte Anzahl an Präferenzen ungleich null hat. Diese NP-Schwere gilt sogar für einige sehr eingeschränkte Sitzgraphen und Präferenzstrukturen. Bei den beiden anderen betrachteten Parametern haben Sitzgraphenklassen und Präferenzstrukturen einen positiven Einfluss auf die (parametrisierte) Komplexität der Probleme. Schließlich korrigieren wir für strikte Präferenzen und Matching-Graphen einen Fehler von Bodlaender et al. Bodlaender et al. [AAMAS, 2020] showed that achieving any of these four criteria is NP-hard in general. However, the hardness relies on some seat graphs and agents’ preferences which may not be natural in real-world situations. This gives rise to the question of what makes Optimal Seat Arrangement NP-hard. Aiming to identify the source of NP-hardness, we perform in this thesis a fine-grained computational and parameterized complexity analysis of four Optimal Seat Arrangement problems, namely Maximum Welfare Arrangement, Maximin Utility Arrangement, Envy-Free Arrangement, and Exchange-Stable Arrangement. We look into natural graph classes for the seat graph (e.g., clique-, path-, cycle-, star-, or matching-graphs), different preference structures (e.g., binary, non-negative, symmetric, or strict preferences), and problem-specific parameters (e.g., the number of agents with non-zero preferences, the number of non-isolated vertices in the seat graph, or the vertex cover number of the seat graph). We investigate the influence of these three aspects on the complexity of Optimal Seat Arrangement and give more refined algorithmic complexity bounds. In this way, we identify clear borders between easy and hard cases. Not only do we extend and improve existing knowledge about the four Optimal Seat Arrangement problems but also show the diversity in complexity of these problems. The results of this thesis include that all considered problems are NP-hard even if each agent has only a bounded number of non-zero preferences. Hardness holds even for several quite restricted seat graph classes and preference structures. For the other considered parameters, the seat graph classes and preference structures have a positive impact on the (parameterized) complexity of these problems. Finally, for strict preferences and matching-graphs, we correct an error by Bodlaender et al. [AAMAS, 2020] and prove that achieving an envy-free arrangement remains NP-hard in this case.

Abstract

Bu araştırma ilkokul öğrencilerinin öz disiplin, bireysel sorumluluk, akademik başarıları arasındaki ilişkinin gerçeklik terapisi çerçevesinde öğretmen görüşleri ile değerlendirilmesi amacıyla yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu; Amasya ilinde öğrenim gören amaçlı örneklem kapsamında aşırı ve aykırı durum örneklemesi yoluyla belirlenen akademik başarısı yüksek ve düşük yirmi öğrencinin sınıf öğretmenlerioluşturmaktadır. İlkokul öğrencilerinin öz disiplin, bireysel sorumluluk, akademik başarıları arasındaki ilişkinin öğretmen görüşleri düzeyinde gerçeklik terapisi kapsamında değerlendirilmesi amacıyla yürütülen bu çalışmada nitel araştırma desenlerinden olgu bilim kullanılmıştır. Öğretmenlerden görüşme yöntemi ile toplanan veriler içerik analizi ile çözümlenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda öz disiplin, bireysel sorumluluk ve akademik başarının birbiriyle yüksek düzeyde ilişkili oldukları, birbirlerini tamamlayıp destekledikleri ve araştırma bulgularının gerçeklik terapisinin temel felsefesi ve temel kavramlarıyla ilişki içerisinde olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır., This research was conducted to evaluate the relationship between self-discipline, individual responsibility and academic achievement of primary school students within the framework of reality therapy. The study group of the research consists of the teachers of twenty students with high and low academic success, who are studying in Amasya province, and it was determined by extreme and deviant sampling within the scope of purposeful sampling. In this study, which was conducted to evaluate the relationship between self-discipline, individual responsibility, and academic achievement of primary school students within the scope of reality therapy at the level of their teachers, phenomenology, one of the qualitative research designs, was used. The data collected by interview method with teachers were analyzed through content analysis. As a result of the research, it was concluded that self-discipline, individual responsibility and academic achievement are highly correlated, they complement and support each other, and it was concluded that the research findings are in relation with the basic philosophy and basic concepts of reality therapy.

Balıkesir Üniversitesi, Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü, Felsefe ve Din Bilimleri Ana Bilim Dalı, Türkiye'de İstanbul Sözleşmesi yürürlüğe girdiği günden beri farklı çevreler tarafından tartışılmaktadır. Sözleşme feshedilmesine rağmen tartışmalar devam etmektedir. Bu tartışmaların ana noktasını toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliği kavramı oluşturmaktadır. Kadına yönelik şiddet ve cinayetlerin önlenebilmesini toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliğinin sağlanmasına bağlayan sözleşme, feminist kesim tarafından desteklenirken, muhafazakâr kesim tarafından ise eleştirilmektedir. Bu çalışma ile muhafazakâr kesimi temsil ettiği varsayılan Yeni Akit gazetesinin, İstanbul Sözleşmesi'nin yürürlüğe girdiği tarihten feshedilme tarihine kadar olan manşet haberleri, nicel içerik analizi yöntemiyle incelenmiştir. İstanbul Sözleşmesi ve toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliği ile ilgili olan haberler tarandıktan sonra nicel analizlerin sonucunda İstanbul Sözleşmesi ile ilgili odaklanılan iki önemli kavramın; aile ve eşcinsellik olduğu görülmüştür. Muhafazakâr bir medya olan Yeni Akit gazetesinin toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliği kavramına İstanbul Sözleşmesi üzerinden yüklediği anlam önemlidir. Çalışma bulgularında muhafazakâr medyanın, toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliğini, eşcinselliğin normalleştirilmesi olarak gördüğü tespit edilmiştir. Yeni Akit gazetesinin İstanbul Sözleşmesi ve sözleşmeyle ilgili ortaya atılan politikaların ve uygulamaların genel anlamda aile ve din kurumlarına zarar verdiği bakış açısına sahip olduğu tespit edilmiştir. İstanbul Sözleşmesi'nin aile kurumunun parçalanmasına ve yok olmasına sebebiyet vereceği ve kadına yönelik şiddetin ve kadın cinayetlerinin sözleşme ile birlikte sayıca arttığı düşünülmektedir. Aynı şekilde boşanma sayılarının arttığı ve evlenme sayılarının düştüğü görüşü üzerinden ailenin yok edilmesi tezi desteklenmektedir. İstanbul Sözleşmesi'nin Batı normlarına göre hazırlandığı ve Türkiye toplumunun kültürüne uygun olmadığı öne sürülmektedir., In Turkey, the Istanbul Convention has been discussed by different circles since its entry into force. Despite the termination of the contract, discussions continue. The main point of these discussions is the concept of gender equality. While the contract that connects the prevention of violence and murders against women to the provision of gender equality is supported by the feminist segment, it is criticized by the conservative segment. In this study, the headline news of the newspaper Yeni Akit, which is assumed to represent the conservative segment, from the date of entry into force of the Istanbul Convention to the date of its annulment, was analyzed by quantitative content analysis method. After scanning the news about the Istanbul Convention and gender equality, as a result of the quantitative analysis, two important concepts focused on the Istanbul Convention; family and homosexuality. The meaning attributed to the concept of gender equality by the conservative newspaper Yeni Akit through the Istanbul Convention is important. In the findings of the study, it has been determined that the conservative media sees gender equality as the normalization of homosexuality. It has been determined that Yeni Akit newspaper has the point of view that the Istanbul Convention and the policies and practices related to the contract harm family and religious institutions in general. It is thought that the Istanbul Convention will lead to the disintegration and destruction of the family institution, and that violence against women and femicide has increased in number with the contract. Likewise, the thesis of the destruction of the family is supported by the view that the number of divorces has increased and the number of marriages has decreased. It is claimed that the Istanbul Convention was prepared according to Western norms and is not suitable for the culture of Turkish society.

21. Hangisi Gerçek Defne Yaprağı Uçucu Yağı?

Abstract

Bu çalışmada ticari olarak satın alınan onbiradet defne yaprağı uçucu yağı ile laboratuvar koşullarında hidrodestilasyonyöntemi ile elde edilen taze ve kurutulmuş defne yaprağı uçucu yağlarınınkimyasal yapıları GC-FID ve GC-MS ile analiz edilmiştir. Analizler sonucundadokuz ayrı uçucu yağın kimyasal yapısıaynı bulunurken, üç yağ tamamen farklı bulunmuştur. Uçucu yağlardan birinde ise% 85 oranında isopropil alkol bulunmuştur. 1.8-sineol (% 47.5-59.1) tazeörnekler ve bazı yağlarda ana bileşen olarak tespit edilirken, α-terpinilasetat(% 4,7-10,7), sabinen (%2.8-10.4) ve α-pinen (% 5,02-7,25) diğer önemlibileşenlerdir. Diğer bir örneğe ait kimyasal içerik, uçucu yağın defnemeyvesine ait olduğunu ve % 33,5 linoleic ve % 30,2 oleic asit içerdiğinigöstermiştir. Genel olarak, oksijenli monoterpenhidrokarbonların (% 68,5-77,5)oranı fenilpropanoidlere (% 0,43-2,41) göre yüksek bulunmuştur. Bu da incelenendefne uçucu yağlarının tıbbi amaca daha uygun olduğunu göstermektedir. Ticariolarak tedarik edilen yağların p-simen oranı % 1,49-6,71 arasında bulunmuştur.Bu durum uçucu yağların beklemiş olduğunu göstermektedir., In this study, chemical analysis of eleven tradebay leaf essential oil and essential oils obtained by hydrodistilation in thelaboratory were done by GC-FID and GC-MS. Chemical composition of nine bay leaf essential oil were found thesame while three bay leaf essential oil were totally different. In one of thesamples, the amount of isopropyl alcohol was 85%. In the fresh bay leaf oil andin some trade marks 1.8-cineol (47.5-59.1 %) was found to be the major compoundwhile α-terpinylacetat ( 4,7-10,7%), sabinen (2.8-10.4%) and α-pinen(5,02-7,25%) were the other dominant compounds. In one of the trade samples theresults indicate that it is the bay-fruit essential oil not leaf with thecomposition of 33,5% linoleic acid and 30,2 % oleic acid. Generally, the amountof oxygenated monoterpenhydrocarbons (68,5-77,5%) was higher compared tophenylpropanoids (0,43-2,41%). These results showed that analyzed essentialoils were suitable for medical usage. p-cymen (1,49-6,71%) ratio was higher inthe trade marks which indicated thatthese oils were degraded.

Abstract

Background: Cold gel pad application and deep relaxation exercise are interventions that can be applied to reduce pain during chest tube removal. Aim: The study was conducted to find out the effect of local cold application and relaxation exercise on pain level during chest tube removal in patients undergoing open heart surgery. Methods: It was conducted an experimental study in 90 patients who underwent heart surgery. Local cold gel pad was applied to the patients in cold application group, rytmic breathing exercise was given to the patients in relaxation group, routine procedures were applied in control group during chest tube removal. The patient's pain levels were measured with VAS before, immediately after and 15 minutes after the procedure. Results: It was determined that the mean VAS scores in the cold application group and relaxation exercise group was significantly lower than the control group. Local coldf gel pad application were not found more effective than relaxation group in reducing procedural pain level. Conclusions: Cold gel pack application and relaxation exercise were found to be effective in reducing pain level in our study. Further studies that examine the effectiveness of cold gel pad and deep breathing exercises on the interventional pain should be performed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Aim: This study aimed to determine the relationship between individual innovativeness and attitudes towards evidence-based nursing among nurses. Background: Innovative and evidence-based practices are important in the development and maintenance of quality in nursing care. Methods: A cross-sectional study with a descriptive design was carried out in the summer period at a private hospital in Turkey. The data were collected from 273 nurses with the Structured Questionnaire Form, the İndividual Innovativeness Scale and the Evidence-Based Nursing Attitude Questionnaire. Results: The perceptions of the nurses towards innovativeness and attitudes of the nurses towards evidence-based nursing were found to be moderate to high level. Higher level of innovativeness (β = 0.120, p < 0.05), lower level of resistance to change (β = -0.335, p<0.001) and higher level of risk taking (β = 0.390, p < 0.001) were associated with nurses' higher level of attitudes towards evidence-based nursing. Conclusions: This study demonstrates that innovativeness and risk taking are crucial to develop positive attitudes towards evidence-based nursing, and resistance to change affects negatively attitudes towards evidence-based nursing. Yüzüncü Yıl Üniversitesi İlahiyat Fakültesi Din Eğitimi Anabilim Dalı Öğretim Üyesi Şakir GÖZÜTOK tarafından kaleme alınan eser, kendisinin doktora tezinin gözden geçirilmiş hali olmakla birlikte inceleme, konuyu ele alış biçimi ve hadislerin tasnif ediş biçimiyle alanda ilk defa denenen bir usul ve çalışma özelliğindedir. Çalışmada, Buhari ve Müslim’in Sahihlerinde yeralan eğitim ile ilgili hadisler ele alınmıştır. Eser; önsöz, kısaltmalar ve girişten sonra beş ana bölüm, sonuç ve kaynaklar bölümlerinden oluşmaktadır. Eserin önsözünde hadislerin eğitim yönünün ortaya konulduğundan bahsedilmektedir. Kur’an’ı Kerim ayetlerinin Mekki ve Medeni olarak incelenmesinden yola çıkılarak bu sefer hadisler Mekki ve Medeni şeklinde tasnif edilerek bu zamana kadar aşina olmadığımız bir şekilde çalışılmıştır. Eserde iki farklı zeminde ve değişik şartlar altında peygamberin eğitim metot ve prensiplerinin nasıl uyguladığını tespit etmek asıl amaç olarak belirtilmektedir

Abstract

The first goal of this study was to determine the polysaccharide composition of Pinus brutia wood and how this composition changes during kraft pulping. The second goal was to determine the effect of the stem height on chemical composition. The content of hemicelluloses was about 280 mg/g at a height of 1.3 m, whereas the content was about 300 mg/g at the top of the stem (4.3 m). The main sugars in the wood of P. brutia were mannose (102 mg/g dw), xylose (69 mg/g dw), and glucose (44 mg/g dw). During kraft pulping, 52% of the total hemicelluloses were degraded. Glucose and xylose were more stable than mannose. The total amounts of cellulose in the wood and in the kraft pulp of P. brutia were determined to be 330 mg/g and 661 mg/g, respectively, at 1.3 m. Abstract

Araştırma açık kalp ameliyatı geçirmiş hastalarda göğüs tüpü çekilirken lokal soğuk jel uygulaması ve gevşeme egzersizinin ağrı düzeyine etkisini belirlemek amacıyla yapıldı. Deneysel olarak tasarlanan araştırma özel bir hastanenin kalp damar cerrahisi servisinde yatan açık kalp cerrahisi uygulanan, araştırmaya katılma kriterlerine uygun 90 bireye 26.11.2015 - 22.05.2016 tarihleri arasında uygulandı. Örneklemde hastalar soğuk uygulama grubu, gevşeme grubu ve kontrol grubu olarak üç gruba ayrıldı. Veriler Hasta Tanıtım Formu ve Görsel Kıyaslama Ölçeği (GKÖ) ile toplandı. SPSS 22.0 programında tek yönlü Anova testi, t testi, Kruskal-Wallis, Man-Whitney U testi ile değerlendirildi. Araştırmada her bir gruptaki hastaların ağrı düzeyleri, işlemden 15 dakika önce, işlem biter bitmez ve işlemden 15 dakika sonra olmak üzere üç kez GKÖ kullanılarak ölçülmüştür. Araştırmaya katılan bireylerin %51,1'inin 60-69 yaş aralığında olduğu, %67,7'sinin erkek olduğu, bireylerin %65,5'ine CABG ameliyatı yapıldığı, %75,5'inin çift drene sahip olduğu görülmüştür. Soğuk uygulama ve gevşeme grubundaki bireylerin GKÖ ortalamalarının kontrol grubundan anlamlı olarak düşük olduğu, soğuk uygulama ve gevşeme grubu GKÖ puan ortalamaları arasında anlamlı fark olduğu belirlenmiştir. Yaş, cinsiyet ve alışkanlıkların soğuk uygulama grubundaki bireylerin GKÖ ortalamaları üzerinde anlamlı etkisi olmadığı ancak cinsiyetin gevşeme grubunda yer alan bireylerdeki GKÖ II değerini etkilediği belirlenmiştir. Göğüs tüpü çekilme işlemi sırasında soğuk jel ve gevşeme egzersizi uygulamasının ağrı düzeyini azalttığı saptanmış ve sonuçlar istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bulunmuştur. Uygulanan bu nonfarmakolojik ağrı giderme yöntemlerinin farmakolojik tedavilerle birlikte tamamlayıcı bir yöntem olarak kullanılması önerilmektedir.Anahtar Sözcükler: Açık kalp cerrahisi, ağrı, gevşeme egzersizi, göğüs tüpü, soğuk jel The study was conducted to determine the effect of local cold gel application and relaxation exercise on pain level when chest tube removal in patients undergoing open heart surgery. Experimentally designed research was carried out on 90 individuals who applied open heart surgery under the service of cardiovascular surgery of a private hospital and who met criteria for participation in the study between 26 November 2015 - 22 May 2016. In the sample, patients were divided into three groups as cold application group, relaxation group and control group. The data were collected with the Patient Identification Form and the Visual Analog Scale (VAS). One-way Anova test, t-test, Kruskal-Wallis and Man-WhitneyU test were used in the SPSS 22.0 program. In the study, the pain levels of the patients in each group were measured three times using the VAS as 15 minutes before the procedure, immediately after the procedure and 15 minutes after the procedure. It was found that 51.1% of the participants were in the age range of 60-69 years, 67.7% were male, 65.5% of the patients were CABG surgery, 75.5% have been shown to have double drains. It was determined that the mean values of VAS of individuals in the cold group were significantly lower than those in the control group, the mean values of VAS of individuals in the relaxation group were significantly lower than those in the control group and there was significant difference between the cold application and relaxation group VAS scores. Age, gender and habits were not significantly influenced by the individuals in the cold application group on VAS averages but the gender affected the VAS II value in the individuals in the relaxation group. The application of cold gel and relaxation exercise during the pulling of chest tube procedure decreased the pain level and the results were found to be statistically significant. It is recommended that these nonpharmacological pain relief methods used as a complementary method with pharmacological treatments.Keywords: Chest tube, cold gel, open heart surgery, pain, relaxation exercise 100

Abstract

Amaç: Bu çalışmada tip 2 diyabeti olan ve olmayan bireylerde QT mesafesiyle ayak bileği-kol indeksi arasındaki ilişkinin değerlendirilmesi ve diyabetik bireylerde periferik arter hastalığı sıklığının belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır.Gereç – yöntem: 01.04.2013 ile 31.05.2014 tarihleri arasında Selçuk Üniversitesi Aile Hekimliği Periyodik Muayene Polikliniğinde yürütülen bu çalışmaya Amerikan Diyabet Birliği'nin kılavuzunda (ADA 2014) belirtilen kriterlere göre daha önce DM teşhisi konulmuş olup takip ve tedavi altında olan erişkin tip 2 diabetes mellitus hastalığı olan 187 hasta vaka grubuna, Aile Hekimliği Periyodik Muayene Polikliniğine başvuran diabetes mellitus ve koroner arter hastalığı olmayan 187 birey ise kontrol grubuna alındı. Her iki gruptaki bireyler yaş, cinsiyet ve vücut kitle indeksi açısından benzer tutuldu. 31 soruluk sosyodemografik, kronik hastalıklar ve yaşam alışkanlıkları anket formu yüz yüze görüşme tekniği ile dolduruldu. Ayak bileği kol indeksi vasküler proplu 8 mHz'lik el dopleri ile her iki ayak bileğinden ve koldan elde edilen tansiyon ölçümleri kullanılarak hesaplandı. 12 derivasyonlu EKG'den elde edilmiş QT mesafeleri Bazett formülü ile hesaplandı. Tüm veriler SPSS 16.0 istatistik paket programına kaydedilerek değerlendirildi. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde Student-t testi, Ki-kare ve Pearson korelasyon analizleri kullanıldı.Bulgular: Çalışmaya alınan vaka (n=187) ve kontrol (n=187) toplam 374 bireyin %56.7'si kadın, (n=212), %43.3'ü erkekti (n=162). Çalışmamıza alınan 374 bireyin yaş ortalaması 51.22 ± 7.67 (min:33, max:65 median:52) olarak bulundu. Vaka grubunun yaş ortalaması 51.97 ± 7.26, kontrol grubun yaş ortalaması 50.47 ± 8.02 idi ve istatiksel açıdan iki grup arasında anlamlı fark yoktu (p=0.058). Vaka grubunun VKİ ortalaması 31.59 ± 5.01 kg/m2, kontrol grubunun VKİ 30.62 ± 5.02 kg/m2 olup iki grup arasında istatiksel açıdan anlamlı fark yoktu (p=0.063). Vaka grubunun %47.6'sının (n=89) erkek, %52.4'ü (n=98) kadın; kontrol grubunun %39'u (n=73) erkek, %61'i (n=114) kadın olup iki grup arasında istatiksel açıdan anlamlı fark yoktu (p=0.095). Abstract

Bir çok öğrenci ve öğretim elemanı; Avrupa Birliği ve üye ülkelerin de katılımıyla gerçekleşen, Yüksek Öğretim Kurumlarının dahil olabildiği, Sokrates (LLP) Değişim Programından faydalanmaktadırlar. 1987'de temelleri atılan proje, ilk önce Sokrates-Erasmus ismiyle hayata geçirilmiştir. Günümüzde, yeni ismiyle yeni bir yedi yıllık döneme başlanmıştır. Proje; 2007-2013 akademik yılları arasında ?Hayat Boyu Öğrenme Programı? (Life Long Learning Programme) adı altında faaliyet gösterecektir. Eğitim alanında fırsat eşitliği, farklı kültür ve dillerin öğrenimi, Avrupa yurttaşlığı ilkelerini benimseyen bu programın bütçesi, Avrupa Birliği tarafından karşılanmaktadır. Projenin, ülkeler bazındaki bilgi ve ana yetkili merkezi her ülkede bir adet bulunan Ulusal Ajanslardır. Projenin başarıya ulaşması için Ulusal Ajansların da rollerinin araştırılması gerekmektedir. Temel araştırma sorusu; bu birimlerin yapısal olarak incelenerek, yaptıkları çalışmaların, gerçekleştirilen değişim hareketliliği üzerindeki etkisini saptamaktır. İncelenen veriler içerisinde bulunan, öğrenci ve öğretim elemanı hareketliliğiyle ilgili olan sayısal veriler, doğrudan elde edilmemiş, Avrupa Komisyonu tarafından hazırlanan istatistiksel tablolar esas alınmıştır. İnceleme yapılırken tüm verilerin güvenilir ve doğru oldukları varsayılmıştır. Ulusal Ajanslar ile ilgili veri tabloların hazırlanmasında ?yerleşik kuram?dan ve ?basit-tesadüfi örnekleme? modellerinden yararlanılmıştır. Ampirik bilgiden yola çıkılmış, bu kavramlara ağırlık verilerek bir genelleme yapılma yoluna gidilmemiştir. Yapılan betimsel çalışma sonucunda, programın başarısı ve Ulusal Ajansların internet üzerindeki yapıları arasında doğru orantılı bir sonuca ulaşılamamıştır. Veri karşılaştırmalarının ortaya koyduğu önemli nokta, bir ülkenin değişim hareketliliğinde başarıya ulaşması için, sahip olduğu Ulusal Ajans'ın internet sitesinin de öngörülen tüm kriterlerinin tamam olması gerekliliği taşımamasıdır. Sonuç olarak; ülke başarısı ile Ulusal Ajans başarısı arasında doğrudan bir bağlantı bulunamamıştır. Students and members of the academic staff of higher education institutions can benefit from the Socrates-Erasmus (LLP) exchange programme which provides student and staff mobility among members or candidates of the European Union. This programme was first established in 1987 under the name of Socrates-Erasmus. At the present day, the new period of six years (2007-2013) has started with a new name: ?Lifelong Learning Programme?. The budget of this programme which is based on the main principles of the European citizenship, the equal opportunity for education, for learning different languages and opening to different cultures was funded by the European Union. Each participant needs to have a local National Agency -a self-competent authority with its own coordinator- in its own country. For the success of the project, it is necessary to recognize the role of this Agency.The aim of the present study is to analyse first the structure of National agencies, and then to confirm the impact of their operations on the exchange mobility. Data concerning students and staff mobility on which a comprehensive research was made in this thesis was not reached directly. We trusted on the reliability of the statistical tables gathered from the official website of European Commission. We worked on the statistical data about National Agencies within the framework of the ?grounded theory? and ?simple random modelling?. This thesis -descriptive in nature- based on the use of empirical information doesn?t aim to put forth any hypothesis. After the descriptive study, it has been observed that no direct proportion exists between the success of the programme and the structure of National Agencies? websites. 116

Türkler, yüzyıllar boyunca edindikleri kültür birikimlerini, geldikleri Anadolutopraklarının zengin mirasıyla kaynaştırmışlardır. Sosyal yaşamın kültür hayatınıdoğrudan ilgilendirdiği düşünülürse, insan hayatının büyük bir bölümünün geçtiğievler de Anadolu'daki kültür alaşımının gösterge alanları olarak değerlendirilebilir.Anadolu topraklarındaki geleneksel evlerde ortak bir bakış açısının izlerini sürmekmümkündür. Farklılıklar ise, yörelerin sağladığı olanakların çeşitliliğindearanmalıdır. Anadolu'da çeşitli coğrafi konumlar, birbirinden farklı iklim koşullarıve bunlara bağlı olarak çeşitli yapı malzemeleri bulunduğundan dolayı, oluşan evgeleneğinin geniş bir yelpazeye sahip olduğu söylenebilir. Bu yelpazenin parçalarıolan ev geleneğinin özgün örnekleri Antalya'nın ilçeleri olan Elmalı ve Akseki'de debulunmaktadır.Elmalı Finike ve çevresinin yaylası konumundadır. Geniş ve verimlitopraklara sahip olması su imkanlarının bulunmasından dolayı tarımyapılabilmektedir. Tarım toplumunun yaşadığı Elmalı'da en gelişmiş plan tipi içsofalıdır. Dış sofalı plan tipindeki evlerle de karşılaşılmaktadır. Akseki'de evlerinönünde bulunan bahçeler Elmalıda genellikle avluyla ilişkilendirilmiştir. Elmalıevlerindeki süsleme programı da özgün örneklerden oluşmaktadır.Akseki, Alanya'nın ve Manavgat'ın yaylası durumunda olan Antalya'nındoğusunda bir ilçedir. Toprağın azlığı nedeniyle tarım çok az miktardayapılabilmektedir. Bundan dolayı el sanatları gelişmiştir. Halkın büyük bir bölümüde ticaretle uğraşmaktadır. Ticaret yapabilmek için büyük şehirlere giden insanlarınufukları genişlemiş evlerinde farklı uygulamalara girişmişlerdir. Elmalı'da hiçrastlanmayan üç katlı, orta sofalı konaklar Akseki' de bulunmaktadır. İç sofalı plantipinde iki katlı evlere de rastlanmaktadır. El sanatlarındaki yeteneklerinden dolayıkonutlarda zengin bir süsleme programı uygulanmıştır. Residencesin Anatolia, where a great majority of a person?s life spent, reflect this culturalrelations as social life is directly related to cultural life. It is possible to trace amutual view in traditional residences in Anatolian lands. Differences should besought in variety of possibilities that environs provide. Existing tradition of residencehas a great variety as there are different geographic locations, climate conditions anddifferent variety of building supplies, which are related to the geography and theclimate, in Anatolia. The examples of a great variety of traditional residence arefound in two boroughs of Antalya, in Akseki and in Elmali.Akseki is an eastern borough of Antalya, which is a wold of Alanya andManavgat. Agriculture is restricted as the lands are limited. As a result of this,handicrafts are developed and majority of people is dealing with trade. People, whogo to big cities to trade, have practiced the same building techniques that they haveseen in big cities in their residences. We come across three floor with a middle halltype mansions in Akseki but not in Elmali. There are also two floor houses in a typeof plan with an inside hall. A rich ornament style has been applied in the residencesas a result of developed handicraft skills.Elmali is a wold of Finike and its surroundings. Agriculture is developed asthere are large and productive lands with water supply in the area. The type of planwith an inside hall is the most developed housing plan in Elmali, where anagricultural society live. We also come across a type of housing plan with an outsidehall. Gardens are in front of the houses in Akseki, whereas in Elmali gardens aregenerally part of courtyards. Also an ornament style in Elmali houses is originalexamples of ornament in the area. 405

Glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) values (8.55±1.85 mg/dL vs. 7.30±1.51 mg/dL; p<0.001), pulse wave velocity (PWV) (7.74±1.14 m/s vs. 7.15±1.10 m/s; p=0.001), CIMT (anterior 0.74±0.15 mm vs. 0.67±0.13 mm; p=0.01), and left ventricular mass (LVM) index (98.68±26.28 g/m2 vs. 89.71±19.70 g/m2; p=0.02) were all significantly increased in the group with peripheral neuropathy compared to the group without peripheral neuropathy. We determined that duration of diabetes, HbA1c, and LVM index were predictors of peripheral neuropathy., Conclusions: A significant relationship was found between diabetic neuropathy and increased PWV, a parameter of arterial stiffness, as well as CIMT, a marker of systemic atherosclerosis. Diabetic peripheral neuropathy may be a determinant of subclinical atherosclerosis in T2DM.
