Athenaea fasciculata belongs to the Solanaceae family and is a promising source of cytotoxic withanolides known as aurelianolides A and B. In the last years, the pharmacological studies of these aurelianolides on different leukemia cell lines have stimulated new studies on their potential as alternative candidates for new lead anticancer drugs. However, the obtention of these two pure compounds by traditional preparative is a costly and long time-consuming process, which is performed in several steps. This study aimed to propose a straightforward approach for isolating aurelianolides A and B using high-speed countercurrent chromatography (HSCCC). In this study, among 10 different solvent systems, the system composed of n-hexane/ethyl acetate/methanol/water 3:6:2:1 (v/v/v/v) was chosen for optimization. This HEMWat system was optimized to 4:8:2:4 (v/v/v/v) and chosen for HSCCC separation in a tail-to-head elution mode. After the HSCCC scale-up procedure, a withanolides mixture (200.0 mg) was separated within 160 min in a single-step purification process. In total, 78.9 mg of aurelianolide A (up to 95.0% purity) and 54.3 mg of aurelianolide B (up to 88.5% purity) was obtained by this fast sequential liquid–liquid partition process. Introduction: To evaluate the outcomes after stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) for locally advanced primary liver cancer. Materials and methods: Patients with locally advanced liver cancer unsuitable for other loco-regional treatments were treated with SBRT with 50--60 Gy in 3--12 fractions in two consecutive prospective trials. Results: A total of 83 patients were included, of whom 14 were excluded, leaving 69 evaluable patients with 74 treated lesions. A total of 50 patients had hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), and 11 patients had cholangiocarcinoma (CCC). Approximately 76% had a Child-Pugh (CP) score of A, while 54% had an albumin--bilirubin (ALBI) score of 1. With a median follow-up of 29 months, the median overall survival (OS) was 11 months, and the progression-free survival (PFS) was 18 months. The ALBI score was an important predictor of overall survival (HR 2.094, p = 0.001), which remained significant also in the multivariate analysis. Patients with an ALBI grade of ≥1 had an OS of 4 months versus 23 months in patients with an ALBI grade of 1 (p ≤ 0.001). The local control at 1 and 2 years was 91%. Thirteen patients developed grade ≥ 3 toxicities, of whom nine patients experienced liver toxicities. Patients with a higher ALBI score had a high risk for developing hepatic failure (OR 6.136, p = 0.006). Discussion: SBRT is a very effective treatment with low toxicity and should be considered as a local treatment option in patients with HCC and CCC. Dose-perturbation characteristics are important to consider during the calculation of radiation therapy protocols for patients who are going to receive high doses that would reach the tolerance limits of the spinal cord [1]. Several studies have investigated dose perturbations introduced by metal implants in close proximity to spine SABR treatments [2–7]. However, there is a lack of work assessing this effect using the RayStation TPS [8]. We present an initial design for a low-cost phantom to evaluate spine stereotactic ablative radiotherapy (SABR) in the presence of prosthetic vertebral stabilization. The phantom is modular, allowing the prosthetic at the centre of the phantom to be removed by exchanging the central block. It also includes space to insert ion chamber and film. The agreement of the RayStation TPS (v8.0B) collapsed cone convolution (CCC) calculation and measurement was determined for phantom versions with and without prosthetic. There was little to no change in the agreement between the measured and calculated dose when introducing metallic hardware. This suggests that our Raystation-based SABR planning approach for patients with spinal hardware meets clinical expectations. Departments without access to anthropomorphic phantoms may find this design useful but should test their phantom design in typical clinical settings to ensure it is robust to real world situations. Saffron is an economically high-value crop globally that can give farmers a high income. Its sexually sterile nature demands vegetative propagation and quality planting material. Hence, this study was designed to build a rapid and reproducible procedure for the micropropagation of saffron. We have examined the surface sterilization of corms as explant with fungicides, antibiotics, and 0.1% mercuric chloride, resulting in maximum sprouting (91.07%) with minimum contamination and mortality. As the propagation of saffron corm and its germination is a critical factor for its yield, we have checked different phytohormone concentrations for bud corm germinations. We found that BAP is an efficient cytokinin to initiate buds on corms. MS medium with NAA (0.5 mg L-1) and BAP (3.0 mg L-1)led to 97.77% sprouting in an average of 34.67 days. Subculturing of sprouted corms on the increased concentration of BAP enhanced shoot proliferation from the base of the sprouted bud. The MS medium with NAA (0.5 mg L-1) and BAP (6.0 mg L-1) shows maximum mean number of shoots (12.67). The presence of growth retardants like ABA, PBZ, and CCC inhibited shoot growth and led to corm development. PBZ (1.5 mg L-1) significantly affected cormlet induction (80%), with a maximum mean weight of 1.70g. Accumulative sucrose concentration to 90 g L-1 further increased mean weight (2.52 g) and size of cormlets (1.08 cm). As an unprecedented stream of decametric hyperspectral observations becomes available from recent and upcoming spaceborne missions, effective algorithms are required to retrieve vegetation biophysical and biochemical variables such as leaf area index (LAI) and canopy chlorophyll content (CCC). In the context of missions such as the Environmental Mapping and Analysis Program (EnMAP), Precursore Iperspettrale della Missione Applicativa (PRISMA), Copernicus Hyperspectral Imaging Mission for the Environment (CHIME), and Surface Biology Geology (SBG), several retrieval algorithms have been developed based upon the turbid medium Scattering by Arbitrarily Inclined Leaves (SAIL) radiative transfer model. Whilst well suited to cereal crops, SAIL is known to perform comparatively poorly over more heterogeneous canopies (including forests and row-structured crops). In this paper, we investigate the application of hybrid radiative transfer models, including a modified version of SAIL (rowSAIL) and the Invertible Forest Reflectance Model (INFORM), to such canopies. Unlike SAIL, which assumes a horizontally homogeneous canopy, such models partition the canopy into geometric objects, which are themselves treated as turbid media. By enabling crown transmittance, foliage clumping, and shadowing to be represented, they provide a more realistic representation of heterogeneous vegetation. Using airborne hyperspectral data to simulate EnMAP observations over vineyard and deciduous broadleaf forest sites, we demonstrate that SAIL-based algorithms provide moderate retrieval accuracy for LAI (RMSD = 0.92–2.15, NRMSD = 40–67%, bias = −0.64–0.96) and CCC (RMSD = 0.27–1.27 g m−2, NRMSD = 64–84%, bias = −0.17–0.89 g m−2). The use of hybrid radiative transfer models (rowSAIL and INFORM) reduces bias in LAI (RMSD = 0.88–1.64, NRMSD = 27–64%, bias = −0.78–−0.13) and CCC (RMSD = 0.30–0.87 g m−2, NRMSD = 52–73%, bias = 0.03–0.42 g m−2) retrievals. Based on our results, at the canopy level, we recommend that hybrid radiative transfer models such as rowSAIL and INFORM are further adopted for hyperspectral biophysical and biochemical variable retrieval over heterogeneous vegetation. Intumescent cataract can be a challenge even for an experienced surgeon, particularly for creating a continuous curvilinear capsulorhexis (CCC) because of increased endolenticular pressure. CCC in white intumescent cataract is associated with increased risk of extension of rhexis margin leading to radial tear or biradial extension causing “Argentinian flag sign” and associated complications. We describe a novel technique for CCC, in which we manipulate the vector forces acting in creating a capsulorhexis. After making a mini CCC, a flap is raised and then inverted under the rhexis margin and CCC is done by keeping the flap inverted using shearing and tearing forces, keeping the direction of force down and toward the center in a curvilinear fashion. It is a new surgical technique to perform a successful and safer CCC in intumescent cataract with consistent outcome.

In order to explore the effects of different plant growth retardants on the main economic traits of cut sunflower, in this study, Vincent cut sunflower was used as the test material, foliar spray treatments were carried out with different concentrations of PP333(40, 80, 160, 240 mg/L), CCC(100, 200, 400, 800 mg/L), and DPC(50, 100, 150, 200 mg/L) solutions with water as the control. The stem, leaf, and flower traits of cut sunflower were determined under different treatment conditions after reaching harvest maturity. The results showed that compared with the control, the 12 treatments showed the characteristics of reduced plant height, increased stem diameter, shortened internodes, increased diameter-to-height ratio, shortened petioles, thickened leaves, increased chlorophyll content, and increased flower diameter, indicating that the economic traits of Vincent cut sunflower were significantly improved and the quality of cut flowers was significantly improved. Among these treatments, PP333 240 mg/L, CCC 800 mg/L, and DPC 150 mg/L had the most significant effects on the economic traits of cut sunflower. Under 240 mg/L of PP333 treatment, the plant height of cut sunflower decreased by 24.1%, stem diameter increased by 41.6%, leaf thickness increased by 52%, SPAD value increased by 47.5%, and flower diameter increased by 26.3%. Under 800 mg/L of CCC treatment, plant height decreased by 15.8%, stem diameter increased by 35.7%, leaf thickness increased by 59.9%, SPAD value increased by 48%, and flower diameter increased by 24.8%.Under 150 mg/L of DPC treatment, the plant height decreased by 22.2%, the stem diameter increased by 44.5%, the leaf thickness increased by 74.8%, the SPAD value increased by 39.3%, and the flower diameter increased by 22.7%. Comprehensive comparative analysis showed that the economic traits of cut sunflower under 240 mg/L of PP333 treatment were the most prominent, and the comprehensive effect was the best. This paper combines the advantages of both cognitive radio (CR) and visible light communication (VLC) for car-to-car applications to achieve a high data rate with minimum (delay, outage probability, bit error rate (BER), and cost). CR technology hops among the existing radio frequency (RF) available channels to increase the RF spectrum usage efficiency and dodge the scarcity limitation. Moreover, using CR as a license-free application will reduce car-to-car communication running costs. However, CRs require a common control channel (CCC) to communicate the spectrum availability map within the CR network and to inform the receiver end about the change in the transmitter-end channel. Therefore, the CCC is the bottleneck in the car-to-car CR network. Then, we explore the types of CCCs and discuss using each of them to solve this bottleneck issue. In the proposed scheme, we adopt using VLC as CCC. A MATLAB simulation for a car-to-car framework is built to demonstrate the capabilities of VLC through the chosen metrics (i.e., data rate, delay, outage probability, cost, and bit error rate). Our results show that VLC achieves up to 90% of the licensed data rate with a small outage probability of 21.2% and moderate BER and delay. In addition, VLC presents the minimum cost, placing second after the licensed type with a score of 84.2% in the combined metric. In conclusion, with the VLC’s bright future of expansion and growth in the car-to-car application, we have proven that VLC is worthy of implementation practically in modern cars.

In the applications of multi-axis computer-numerical-control (CNC) precision machining, one of the important issues in the multi-axis contour following task is to reduce the contour error in the machining process. A popular method to solve this problem is the cross-coupling control (CCC). As the traditional CCC method cannot meet the requirements for tracking accuracy and contour control accuracy for large curvature positions, a novel integrated control strategy of cross-coupling contour error compensation, which consists of an improved real-time contour error estimation algorithm based on arc length parameters, an improved position error compensator (PEC) and a single neuron cross-coupling controller, is proposed. To improve the accuracy of contour error estimation for large curvature trajectories, an improved real-time estimation algorithm of contour error based on arc length parameters is proposed. The method first finds the nearest interpolation point by backtracking method and calculates the backward reference point by using the method based on arc length parameters. Then, the obtained backward reference point is used as the desired command point by arc approximation method to find the estimated value of contour error. Moreover, a single-neuron adaptive cross-coupling controller is designed, which continuously adjusts the weights through a single-neuron learning algorithm to reach the effect of improving the control accuracy. In addition, an improved PEC method is further presented, which improves the tracking accuracy by compensating the tracking error in advance. The feasibility of the proposed integrated control strategy is verified with several non-uniform rational B-spline (NURBS) parametric curve contour following experiments. Moreover, experimental results indicate that the proposed integrated control strategy can significantly improve the tracking and contour control accuracy of biaxial contour following tasks compared with None CCC method and CCC method and has better contour control performance in large curvature positions. Purpose: This paper investigates the existence of an optimal point of the cash conversion cycle (CCC) and its components, which minimizes firms’ stock risk. Methodology: This study applies fixed effect models to a sample of firms listed in Euronext exchanges, from 2011 to 2019. Stock risk is proxied by the standard deviation of stock returns. The quadratic function of the CCC and its components (days sales outstanding – DSO, days sales inventory – DSI, and days payable outstanding – DPO) is applied to capture an optimal point of the working capital management (WCM). Results: Results show the existence of a U-shaped relation between WCM and stock risk, suggesting the existence of an optimal CCC and DSI point that minimizes stock risk Originality: To the best of our knowledge, this is the first paper that explores the existence of an optimal CCC point and also an optimal point of its components (DSO, DSI, and DPO), which minimizes stock risk. This paper is also the first to assess the impact of WCM on stock risk of firms listed in European stock exchanges. The study was conducted in the Lath house of the College of Agriculture / University of Kirkuk / Agricultural Research and Experiment Station, for the period from September 15/ 2021 to Until the end of April / 2022, The research included studying the effect of spraying with a growth regulator (CPPU) at concentrations of (0, 30, 60) mg L-1 with two sprays, the first one a day after the seedling rotation process, and the second one a week later, The first spray, And spraying with CCC growth regulator at concentrations of (0, 2000) mg.L-1, with two sprays, the first three days after spraying with CPPU, and the second two weeks after the first spraying, The factorial experiment was conducted according to the randomized complete block design (R.C.B.D), with a split experiment. The results were analyzed using the statistical software [1], Statistical analysis and Duncan's multiple range test were used to compare the means at the 5% probability level. The effect of spraying with the growth regulator CPPU at a concentration of 30 mg .L-1 led to a significant increase in the number of leaves, 167.66 leaves.plant-1 and the flower diameter was 13.91 cm, while the concentration of 60 mg.L-1 increased the vase life by 19.08 days. Spraying with growth regulator CCC at a concentration of 2000 mg.L-1 resulted in a significant increase in the number of leaves to 164.44 leaves.plant-1 and The number of flowers is 11.72 flowers.Plant-1. .

AbstractThis research paper purposes to discover the reasons that impact the working capital management (WCM) of Indian-listed manufacturing firms. The study uses a panel data set of 291 firms covering years from 2011 to 2020. The authors use working capital requirement (WCR) and cash conversion cycle (CCC) as proxies for working capital management and assess the effect of operating cash flow (OCF), performance as return on assets (ROA), valuation as Tobin’s Q (TQs), size, age, growth opportunities, leverage, and economic condition as the gross domestic product (GDP) over them. We use OLS and GMM estimators for the analysis of the study. Indian listed manufacturing firms’ cash conversion cycle (CCC) has been found to be positively correlated to their firm value, performance, and leverage. At the macro level, CCC is positively correlated to GDP. Further, CCC has been found to be negatively correlated with growth opportunities, operating cash flow, firm size, and age. The working capital requirement (WCR) of the firms, on the other hand, is positively associated with performance, firm age, and value, while it is negatively related to OCF, growth opportunities, leverage, size, and GDP. Our study adds uniqueness to the existing works on working capital in many ways. First, to our knowledge, very few studies exist to measure working capital management in the Indian context using two proxies WCR and CCC of working capital as dependent variables. Second, we used both OLS and GMM estimators to measure the explanatory variable’s effect over WCR and CCC which provided a more valid result. Third, we used eight factors as explanatory variables that provide a wider scope to explain the working capital management of Indian listed firms.

In this study, the cutting seedlings of ‘pompon’ were used as experimental materials, and potted ‘pompon’ with 400-600 mg / kg CCC mixed with 1 000-5 000 mg / kg B9 was treated. To compare the regulation effects of diffrent proportions of CCC and B9 on the growth and flowering of potted ‘pompon’, related morphological indexes (plant height, internode length, stem diameter, the number of lateral buds per plant, crown diameter, chlorophyll content, etc. ) were determined. The results showed that the combination of low concentration CCC and B9 could achieve the dwarfization effect of high concentration B9 alone and reduce the cost. With the increase of CCC concentration alone, the number of side buds per plant decreased, and the combination of CCC and B9 also decreased compared with that of B9 alone. Mixed spraying with different concentrations of CCC and B9 delayed the stage of chrysanthemum to a certain extent, and the petal color became lighter, and the phenomenon was more obvious when mixed with high concentration. Mixed with 600 mg / kg CCC and 5 000 mg / kg B9, the flowers turn white. Mixed application of 1 000 mg / kg B9 and 500 mg / kg CCC had the best effect, with the largest flower diameter, the largest stem diameter, plant height, internode length and medium leaf thickness. In conclusion, CCC and B9 had dual effects on potted ‘pompon’. The mixed application of 500 mg / kg CCC and 1 000 mg / kg B9 could facilitate the growth and flowering regulation of ‘pompon’, and initially reduce the use of B9. The mixed application of low concentration CCC and B9 could regulate the growth and flowering of ‘pompon’. It provided basis and practical guidance for potted ‘pompon’ production. Prosomillet is prone to lodging in planting and production, which is one of the important factors restricting prosomillet production. In this study, PP333 and CCC were used to efficiently improve the lodging resistance of crops, and the effects of PP333 and CCC on the lodging resistance and yield of prosomillet were studied to provide data and theoretical support for stabilizing the yield of prosomillet. Under field conditions, an anti-fall variety Longmi 9 was used as the test material, the different concentration gradients of PP333 and CCC were set up, and clear water was set up as the control, foliar spraying was carried out at the jointing stage and the heading stage, and the morphological and mechanical characteristics such as plant height and height of center of gravity of Longmi 9 stems in each treatment were investigated at the maturity stage, and their effects on the lodging resistance regulation effect on stems and yield were analyzed. The results showed that the response of Longmi 9 to PP333 and CCC was different, but the plant height, height of center of gravity, and lodging index were significantly decreased by foliar spraying at jointing stage and heading stage, therefore, the lodging resistance of the plant was improved significantly. From the perspective of sparying stages, the morphological index and lodging resistance index in the treatments of sprying the two chemical control agents at jointing stage were better than those at heading stage, so the chemical control effect at jointing stage were better than that at heading stage, and jointing stage was the optimal stage of chemical control for prosomillet, and the effect of PP333 was better than that of CCC. Spraying PP333 at jointing stage could also increase crop yield, when 1.05 kg/ha of PP333 was applied at jointing stage, the yield of prosomillet was the highest and it was 3 445.2 kg/ha, 3.81% higher than that of the control. This article explores the use of popular music in political contestations and specifically how it has been appropriated in Zimbabwe to advance hegemonic and counter hegemonic narratives. The article draws from two popular musicians in Zimbabwe, Winky D and Jah Prayzah and their use of music as an unconventional journalism format to comment on political trajectories in Zimbabwe. We argue that the two musicians have polarizing or competing discourses that either dissident or support the establishment. Theoretically, we use Mano's conceptual framework that views music as a journalism variant in contexts where mass media and opposition parties are weak. Methodologically, the study employs a multimodal approach and thematic analysis. The study concludes that Zimbabwe's two popular youthful musicians have been engaging in cold-war like fights that mirror existential political battles between the Zimbabwe African National Union Patriotic Front party (ZANU-PF) led by Emmerson Mnangagwa and the then Movement for Democratic Change Alliance (MDC-A) party led by Nelson Chamisa. Wireless communication demands rapidly increase due to the increase of Internet of Things applications, which leads researchers to build secondary networks that exploit the spectrum holes of primary networks. Cognitive radio (CR) technology is adopted in ad-hoc networks (AHNs) rather than infrastructure-based networks because AHNs have lower cost, higher coverage, and easier maintenance compared to infrastructure-based networks. Moreover, in-band-full-duplex (IBFD) in CR networks (CRNs) is gaining the interest of researchers. This mix between IBFD and CRNs brings a great enhancement in the network's performance due to efficient dynamic spectrum access. Therefore, we propose an adaptive FD-CRNs routing protocol that uses a common control channel. Adaptive FD communication is conducted in our protocol where the secondary users adapt their communication mode based on the primary users' activity on the spectrum. Communication modes used in our work are FD transmit and sense, FD transmit and receive, and sensing only. The performance of our protocol was evaluated using a java language simulator for IBFD-CRNs introduced previously in the literature. Also, we compare the performance of our protocol with three previous protocols, probabilistic and deterministic path selection in cognitive radio network, and multi-cast half-duplex routing protocol and broadcast full-duplex routing protocol. This research paper purposes to discover the reasons that impact the working capital management (WCM) of Indian-listed manufacturing firms. The study uses a panel data set of 291 firms covering years from 2011 to 2020. The authors use working capital requirement (WCR) and cash conversion cycle (CCC) as proxies for working capital management and assess the effect of operating cash flow (OCF), performance as return on assets (ROA), valuation as Tobin's Q (TQs), size, age, growth opportunities, leverage, and economic condition as the gross domestic product (GDP) over them. We use OLS and GMM estimators for the analysis of the study. Indian listed manufacturing firms' cash conversion cycle (CCC) has been found to be positively correlated to their firm value, performance, and leverage. At the macro level, CCC is positively correlated to GDP. Further, CCC has been found to be negatively correlated with growth opportunities, operating cash flow, firm size, and age. The working capital requirement (WCR) of the firms, on the other hand, is positively associated with performance, firm age, and value, while it is negatively related to OCF, growth opportunities, leverage, size, and GDP. Our study adds uniqueness to the existing works on working capital in many ways. First, to our knowledge, very few studies exist to measure working capital management in the Indian context using two proxies WCR and CCC of working capital as dependent variables. Second, we used both OLS and GMM estimators to measure the explanatory variable's effect over WCR and CCC which provided a more valid result. The purpose of this study is to examine whether perceived innovativeness moderates the relationship between working capital management (WCM) and firm value. The study uses a sample of 200 listed Indian firms for 2015–2019. The firms are classified into innovative and non-innovative categories using the OECD and the EU Industrial R&D Investment Scoreboard 2018. Using OLS and GMM-DPD estimations, the study finds in accordance with the prior literature that a sample of firms exhibits a positive relationship between WCM efficiency and firm value. The original contribution of the paper is finding that low R&D and high R&D firms are treated differently when investors factor WCM into prices. The firms belonging to industries that are perceived to be innovative are not penalised in terms of valuation even if they follow inefficient WCM. However, firms that belong to industry sectors that are perceived to be non-innovative experience a drop in their valuation if their WCM is inefficient. The authors argue that this difference is due to the halo effect of innovative firms. The results imply that the halo effect obscures the true valuation. Hence, investors should learn to avoid valuing innovative firms’ WCM based merely on their classification into an innovative industry sector.

The integration of Connected Cruise Control (CCC) and wireless Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) communication technology aims to improve driving safety and stability. To enhance CCC’s adaptability in complex traffic conditions, in-depth research into intelligent asymmetrical control design is crucial. In this paper, the intelligent CCC controller issue is investigated by jointly considering the dynamic network-induced delays and target vehicle speeds. In particular, a deep reinforcement learning (DRL)-based controller design method is introduced utilizing the Twin Delayed Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient (TD3) algorithm. In order to generate intelligent asymmetrical control strategies, the quadratic reward function, determined by control inputs and vehicle state errors acquired through interaction with the traffic environment, is maximized by the training that involves both actor and critic networks. In order to counteract performance degradation due to dynamic platoon factors, the impact of dynamic target vehicle speeds and previous control strategies is incorporated into the definitions of Markov Decision Process (MDP), CCC problem formulation, and vehicle dynamics analysis. Simulation results show that our proposed intelligent asymmetrical control algorithm is well-suited for dynamic traffic scenarios with network-induced delays and outperforms existing methods.

Inhibitory neurotransmission plays a fundamental role in the central nervous system, with about 30-50% of synaptic connections being inhibitory. The action of both inhibitory neurotransmitter, gamma-aminobutyric-acid (GABA) and glycine, mainly relies on the intracellular Cl- concentration in neurons. This is set by the interplay of the cation chloride cotransporters NKCC1 (Na+, K+, Cl- cotransporter), a main Cl- uptake transporter, and KCC2 (K+, Cl- extruder in neurons. Accordingly, their dysfunction is associated with severe neurological, psychiatric, and neurodegenerative disorders. This has triggered great interest in understanding their regulation, with a strong focus on phosphorylation. Recent structural data by cryogenic electron microscopy provide the unique possibility to gain insight into the action of these phosphorylations. Interestingly, in KCC2, six out of ten (60%) known regulatory phospho-sites reside within a region of 134 amino acid residues (12% of the total residues) between helices a8 and a9 that lacks fixed or ordered three-dimensional structures. It thus represents a so-called intrinsically disordered region. Two further phospho-sites, Tyr903 and Thr906, are also located in a disordered region between the ß8 strand and the a8 helix. We make the case that especially the disordered region between helices a8 and a9 acts as a platform to integrate different signaling pathways and simultaneously constitute a flexible, highly dynamic linker that can survey a wide variety of distinct conformations. As each conformation can have distinct binding affinities and specificity properties, this enables regulation of [Cl- ]i and thus the ionic driving force in a history-dependent way. This region might thus act as a molecular processor underlying the well described phenomenon of ionic plasticity that has been ascribed to inhibitory neurotransmission. 2:1 and 1:1 types of clay minerals are ubiquitous in soil, and their different surface properties result in distinct environmental behaviours. In this study, dynamic light scattering (DLS) technology was adopted to determine the aggregation kinetics of 2:1 type (Montmorillonite [Mt]) and 1:1 type (Kaolinite [Ka]) clay minerals in different electrolytes. Hofmeister effects on their aggregation characteristics and mechanisms were explored. The results showed that the activation energy and critical coagulation concentration (CCC) for Mt and Ka aggregation followed Hofmeister sequences of Na+ > K+ > Cs+, Mg2+ > Ca2+ > Zn2+ ≈ Cd2+ > Cu2+> Pb2+. The analyses of physical insights into those differences revealed that the observed Hofmeister sequence was produced from the different non‐classical polarisation of cations and surface O atoms in the strong electric field of clay, which led to non‐electrostatic force adsorption of cations at the surface (or in the Stern layer). In this study, the effective charge coefficient γ was employed to characterise the intensity of the non‐electrostatic adsorption forces of cations arising from the non‐classical polarisation, and the γ values followed Na+ < K+ < Cs+, Mg2+ < Ca2+ < Zn2+ = Cd2+ < Cu2+ < Pb2+. For alkali and alkali earth metal cations with same valence, the more the electron layers, the 'softer' the electron cloud, the stronger the non‐classical polarisation effects in the electric field and the stronger ability to shield the electric field around the particle, which finally lead to the larger γ and lower CCC for clay minerals aggregation. For heavy metal cations, different s/p/d empty orbitals provided the basis for the difference in polarisation‐induced coordination between heavy metal cations with surface O atoms on clay. The results also showed that, the Hofmeister effects on Mt/Ka aggregation were different, it was from the differences in Hamaker constant and surface charge density for the two clay minerals. Indocyanine green (ICG) is a fluorescent dye which was initially used for liver functional assessment. Moreover, it is of value for intraoperative visualization of liver segments and bile ducts or primary and secondary liver tumors. Especially in minimally invasive liver surgery, this is essential to enhance the precision of anatomical guided surgery and oncological quality. As early adopters of ICG implementation into laparoscopic and robotic-assisted liver surgery in Germany, we summarize the current recommendations and share our experiences.

The directly parallel pulse width modulated converter (DPC) method is used to construct large-scale converter systems to increase system performance and reduce costs. However, circulating currents arise when the converters supply unbalanced currents or have different converter parameters. Circulating currents cause distortions in the current, increase the current coming from each converter, and degrade the system performance. This paper proposes a circulating current control (CCC) methodology to eliminate circulating currents through the analysis and approximation of the circulating current of the fundamental harmonic current at 150 Hz. By using the phase shift technique, this new model of the circulating current in the 0-axis was extended to the $0d$ - and $0q$ -axes. The proposed CCC was then designed according to the new circulating current model and added to the conventional controller. The performance of the proposed CCC converter was verified via simulation and experimentally with three directly parallel 5.5 kVA converters. The proposed CCC enhanced controller and conventional controller were tested with various current values, and all resulting circulating currents were recorded. The experimental results showed that the proposed CCC eliminated nearly all the circulating currents and that it had a fast, dynamic response to step-change currents. Using ramp current sharing, the experimental results were confirmed. Additionally, the efficiency of the proposed CCC in the DPC was significantly higher than the conventional controller, and the system’s efficiency was the same as that of a single converter connection. Thus, using the proposed CCC in DPC systems is economical, highly efficient, modular, and flexible.

To reduce the torque ripple of a switched reluctance motor (SRM), this paper proposed a direct torque optimization scheme. To force the torque to better track the reference torque, the proposed method abolished the torque hysteresis control and a fuzzy controller was adopted to quantitatively analyze the difference between the reference torque and measured torque. Therefore, the torque reference factor that represents the torque under different conditions can be obtained, and the system should be controlled by different voltage vectors with different output torque capabilities at different torque reference factor values. In this way, the torque can better track the given torque. At the same time, the existing sectors were optimized in this paper. Under optimized sectors, the adopted direct torque control (DTC) scheme can drive the SRM better. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed scheme, it is compared with the current chop control (CCC) strategy and the traditional DTC control strategy on a 12/8 three-phase SRM by simulations and experiments. Cloud computing is arising as a popular computing paradigm, as it is good in offering its users on-demand scalable resource-based services over the internet. In peak hours, a single cloud is not efficient in serving an application; therefore, the collaborative cloud model has been introduced. Collaborative cloud computing (CCC) uses the globally-scattered distributed cloud resources of the diverse organizations collectively in a cooperative manner to provide the required service to the user. The allocation, as well as the management of the resources, is being a challenging task in the CCC, due to the heterogeneity of the resources. On the other hand, the assurance of the Quality of Service (QoS) and reliability of these resources is challenging. Further, it would be efficient if the resources are provided based on the system behavior. In this research work, a novel trust computing model is developed, which predicts both the QoS and Trust via analyzing the system behavior. The proposed model encloses three major phases: Trust-QoS behavior estimation, resource matching and resource allocation. Initially, the QoS and Trust behavior of the system is estimated via a Neural Network (NN) model. Subsequently, the resource allocation is performed using the parallel resource matching framework, which is based on the concept of Map-Reduce. More particularly, the precious resource allocation is achieved by an optimization logic called Improved Grey Wolf Optimizer (I-GWO). This study analyzed the effects of cadmium (Cd) and lead (Pb) on growth, sexual couples, and histological structures of Artemia franciscana exposed to individual concentrations of these metals and combined. No histological effects were observed at tissue level in digestive, respiratory, nervous, and reproductive systems (i.e., necrosis, loss of regular structure) in individual and mixed applications on A. franciscana for 20 days of exposure. No significant differences (p > 0.05) were determined in final size and growth rate among the organisms exposed to Cd and those of control. For Pb, only the final size (3.59 ± 0.59 mm) of organisms exposed to the highest concentration was significantly lower (p < 0.05) than those of the control (4.53 ± 0.34 mm) group, whereas for the combined experiment, no significant differences (p > 0.05) were observed in final size and growth rate. At all Cd concentrations, mean sexual couples were significantly lower (p < 0.05) than those of the control, as well as for Pb. For the combined experiment (8 μg/L of Cd + 8 μg/L of Pb), sexual couples were not observed, indicating synergism and negative reproduction effects. The results showed that Cd and Pb aquatic environmental regulations (as the Criterion of Continuous Concentration) proposed by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) should include their interactions with other metals. Primary stakeholders in the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Milestones Project are: ACGME, Residency Programs, Residents, Fellowship Programs, Fellows, and Certification Boards. The intent of the Milestones is to describe the educational and professional developmental trajectory of a trainee from the first stages of their postgraduate education through the completion of their clinical training. The Milestones 2.0 project includes changes made based on experience with Milestones 1.0. The ACGME solicited volunteers to participate in the development of subspecialty Milestones 2.0. The workgroup was charged with reviewing/making any additions to the four "Harmonized Milestones", developing subspecialty specific milestones for the Patient Care and Medical Knowledge competencies, and creating a supplemental guide. The Milestones were finalized following review of input from an open comment period. The Cytopathology Milestones 2.0 will go into effect July 2021. They include additional subcompetencies in the 4 harmonized competency areas and cytopathology-specific edits to the patient care and medical knowledge subcompetencies. Although the number of subcompetencies has increased from 18 to 21, within each subcompetency, the number of milestone trajectories has decreased. Additionally, within each subcompetency, the wording has been streamlined. A supplemental guide was created and Milestones 1.0 were compared to 2.0; however, curriculum mapping has been left to programs to develop. The ultimate goal of the Cytopathology Milestones 2.0 is to provide better real-time documentation of the progress of cytopathology fellows. This study aimed to assess the consistency and replicability of treatment recommendations provided by ChatGPT 3.5 compared to gastrointestinal tumor cases presented at multidisciplinary tumor boards (MTBs). It also aimed to distinguish between general and case-specific responses and investigated the precision of ChatGPT's recommendations in replicating exact treatment plans, particularly regarding chemotherapy regimens and follow-up protocols. A retrospective study was carried out on 115 cases of gastrointestinal malignancies, selected from 448 patients reviewed in MTB meetings. A senior resident fed patient data into ChatGPT 3.5 to produce treatment recommendations, which were then evaluated against the tumor board's decisions by senior oncology fellows. Among the examined cases, ChatGPT 3.5 provided general information about the malignancy without considering individual patient characteristics in 19% of cases. However, only in 81% of cases, ChatGPT generated responses that were specific to the individual clinical scenarios. In the subset of case-specific responses, 83% of recommendations exhibited overall treatment strategy concordance between ChatGPT and MTB. However, the exact treatment concordance dropped to 65%, notably lower in recommending specific chemotherapy regimens. Cases recommended for surgery showed the highest concordance rates, while those involving chemotherapy recommendations faced challenges in precision. ChatGPT 3.5 demonstrates potential in aligning conceptual approaches to treatment strategies with MTB guidelines. However, it falls short in accurately duplicating specific treatment plans, especially concerning chemotherapy regimens and follow-up procedures. Clear cell carcinoma (CCC) of the diaphragm is rare, with an origin that is reported to be associated with malignant transformation of extraperitoneal endometriosis. Lynch syndrome (LS) is an autosomal dominant hereditary cancer syndrome caused by germline pathogenic variants in one of the DNA mismatch repair (MMR) genes, MLH1, MSH2, MSH6 and PMS2. Women with LS have a significantly increased lifetime risk of endometrial and ovarian cancer. CCC is a common histology of endometriosis- and LS-associated malignancy. The present study describes the case of a 51-year-old woman with an intra-abdominal mass found during a routine physical examination. The patient had undergone total hysterectomy and bilateral adnexectomy for atypical endometrial hyperplasia (AEH) and ovarian endometriosis, respectively, 3 years previously. Enhanced computed tomography showed a mass on the surface of the liver. Laparoscopic examination of the abdominal cavity revealed a tumor on the underside of the right diaphragm, which was then surgically excised. Pathological examination of the excised tumor, along with immunohistochemistry, led to a diagnosis of CCC. Since LS was suspected due to the genetic family history of the patient, microsatellite instability analysis was performed on the diaphragmatic tumor, and the results were positive. Immunohistochemistry was performed for MMR proteins in AEH and CCC cells, both of which revealed loss of MSH2 and MSH6 expression. Following detailed genetic counseling, genetic testing of MMR genes was performed, revealing a germline pathogenic variant in MSH2 (c.1000C>T, p.Gln344*), thus confirming the diagnosis of LS. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first case report of concurrent diaphragmatic CCC and LS. Patients with LS and endometriosis are at risk of developing ovarian cancer or intra-abdominal malignant tumors. In addition, immunohistochemistry screening for MMR proteins should be considered in patients with AEH and a family history of LS-related cancer, to enable early clinical intervention in cases of endometrial cancer. We give a proposal of generalization of the Freese–Nation property for topological spaces. We introduce a few properties related to Freese–Nation property: FNS, FN, FNS*, FNI. This article presents some relationship between these concepts. We show that spaces with the FNS property satisfy ccc and any product of such spaces also satisfies ccc. We show that all metrizable spaces have the FN property.

Purpose: Saffron (Crocus sativus L.) is a valuable medicinal plant with a short flowering period. Its flowering management can be useful for the production of saffron in a farm or controlled condition. The objective of this study was to determine the effect of plant growth regulators (PGRs) on saffron corms sprouting. Research method: For this purpose, corms were treated with different PGRs including α-naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA) (0, 100, 200, 300 ppm), chlorocholine chloride (CCC) (0, 100, 200, 300 ppm) and gibberellic acid (GA3) (0, 5, 10, 20 ppm) for two hours and incubated at 20-22 °C for eight weeks. Findings: The results revealed that the effect of PGRs on corms sprouting was significant. It has been shown that treatment of corms with auxin at all concentrations reduced sprouting compared to the control. To prolong dormancy for five weeks, NAA at 200 mg L-1 was the best choice. While for the fifth week onwards, the most effective treatment was NAA at 100 ppm. Treatment with GA3 (20 ppm) has shown a stimulatory effect on corm sprouting. Research limitations: No limitations were founded. Originality/Value: Sprouting acceleration can keep flowering away from early autumn frosting in farm conditions, while prolongation of corms dormancy provides the possibility of harvesting saffron flowers in several times in a hydroponic system. The results of this study suggested two kinds of chemical for different purposes, inhibition and stimulation of sprouting of saffron corms that can be applicable for saffron hydroponic or farm production, respectively.

Background: Multimedia interventions may play an important role in improving patient care and reducing the time constraints of patient-clinician encounters. The "MyStay Cardiac" multimedia resource is an innovative program designed to be accessed by adult patients undergoing cardiac surgery., Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the uptake of the MyStay Cardiac both during and following the COVID-19 pandemic., Methods: A prospective observational study design was used that involved the evaluation of program usage data available from the digital interface of the multimedia program. Data on usage patterns were analyzed for a 30-month period between August 2020 and January 2023. Usage patterns were compared during and following the lifting of COVID-19 pandemic restrictions. Uptake of the MyStay Cardiac was measured via the type and extent of user activity data captured by the web-based information system., Results: Intensive care unit recovery information was the most accessed information, being viewed in approximately 7 of 10 usage sessions. Ward recovery (n=124/343, 36.2%), goal (n=114/343, 33.2%), and exercise (n=102/343, 29.7%) information were routinely accessed. Most sessions involved users exclusively viewing text-based information (n=210/343, 61.2%). However, in over one-third of sessions (n=132/342, 38.5%), users accessed video information. Most usage sessions occurred during the COVID-19 restriction phase of the study (August 2020-December 2021). Sessions in which video (P=.02, phi=0.124) and audio (P=.006, phi=0.161) media were accessed were significantly more likely to occur in the restriction phase compared to the postrestriction phase., Conclusions: This study found that the use of digital multimedia resources to support patient education was well received and integrated into their practice by cardiac nurses working in acute care during the COVID-19 pandemic.
