The paper presents a research approach developed at University of Naples Federico II, for adopting inclusive design methods for products and systems having the priority to foster relational or collaborative dynamics between different users targets. Starting from the assumption that the "multicultural and inter-community" dimension is a fundamental element characterizing contemporary societies, this approach responds to the emerging need for a "different way" to conceive artifacts, services, places, and, in general, tools designed for connecting collective needs which are increasingly complex because they are linked to fluid, heterogeneous, light, and "open" community models. In this perspective, the design approach expands Design for All practices and methods, by acting on an "extended dimension" at the community scale and for "inter-target" goals. In this way, human-centered design culture can be confirmed as a possible tool for coexistence and cooperation between abilities, cultures, generations, social groups, religions, languages, traditions, and different needs acting in a simultaneous, co-present, and complementary manner.

A cluster of cases of pneumonia of unknown cause, detected in Wuhan, China, were first reported to the World Health Organisation (WHO) Country Office in China on 31st December 2019; eventually they were later identified as novel corona virus-2019 (COVID-19 for short). The rapid propagation of COVID-19 has required governments of all countries to implement strategies to mitigate its impacts, preventing and suppressing community transmission to protect the life of the citizens and address the challenges imposed on the health systems. Physical distancing, large-scale movement restrictions, lockdown of economic activities and school closures, have been the most common measures implemented at different stages, and to different degrees, in all countries worldwide [Venditto et al. forthcoming]. The Global Migration Data Analysis Centre indicates that in 14 out of 20 countries with the highest number of COVID-19 cases, immigrants represented 3.7 per cent of the population; in more than nine of them this proportion was higher than 7 per cent. The consequences of the COVID-19 infection pose enormous challenges for international and internal human mobility. National lockdowns, border closures, tightening of immigration laws and health regulations, both in the countries of origin and destination, have hindered mobility, reducing new arrivals of both regular/documented and irregular/undocumented migrants, while making it very difficult for refugees and asylum seekers to apply for international protection. it appears that with the easing of the restrictions such patterns have started to reverse, as indicated by the fact that the first four months of the 2021 have shown a resurgence of border crossings. Overall, looking at the broad picture, it may be said that since the appearance of COVID-19, migration patterns have been significantly disrupted. It may be inferred that what is experienced with the impact of COVID-19 transmission, particularly for the vulnerable, is the result of a syndemic rather than a pandemic, as suggested by Horton [2020]. Unlike the pandemic, which indicates the spread of an infectious agent in the human body more or less indistinctly with the same speed and severity everywhere, a syndemic, in this case, entails a relationship between the disease and the socio-economic conditions, whose interaction strengthens and aggravates each of them. This approach [Singer et al. 2017], makes it possible to better understand the evolution and spread of diseases given the context in which they spread. Re-proposed in relation to the migration-COVID-19 nexus, the concept focuses on the fact that the virus has a greater impact on the most marginalized, vulnerable populations, who often live in poverty. This suggests that the strategy of concentrating efforts exclusively on health aspects in the medium to long term may be ineffective: to com- bat a syndemic it is also necessary to work towards removing existing inequalities.

Djerba, située dans le golfe de Gabès en face de la côte sud de la Tunisie, compte une population pour la plupart d'origine berbère; l'île a une histoire unique et ancienne qui a laissé sur le territoire et les communautés qui y vivent des traces importantes d'une «mobilité complexe» faite de rencontres, d'affrontements et d'échanges entre populations différentes.L'île est également connue pour sa communauté juive qui, bien que réduite après l'émigration massive vers Israël dans les années cinquante et soixante du siècle dernier, incarne un exemple important de la coexistence pacifique avec la communauté musulmane locale. Un des endroits représentatifs de l'ancienneté de ce peuplement est la Ghriba : ce temple juif, le plus ancien en Afrique, situé dans le village de Hara Seghira remonte au 586 a. C. et, aujourd'hui encore est une importante destination de pèlerinage. L'essai décrit les rituels encore en usage sur l'île et comment le village est devenu ainsi un musée en plein air, une banlieue multiculturelle , un lieu symbolique, une synthèse idéologique, le résultat de la richesse et du métissage culturel produits par la mobilité .

La Méditerranée se caractérise par ses innombrables îles mineures et ses îlots. Dans l'essai, dans le cadre de l'Initiative "Petites Iles de Méditerranée" , qui promeut la préservation de ces territoires micro-insulaires, ont été inventoriés les îles de Ponza, Ventotene, Santo Stefano, Dino et Cirella en illustrant leurs traits originaux, l'histoire heurtée de leur occupation humaine, permanente ou occasionnelle. En particulier, l'histoire des interactions entre l'homme et ces milieux méditerranéens est abordée sous ses multiples aspects, de la précarité de la vie aux larges horizons de la navigation et des échanges, de la réclusion à l'hospitalité, de la mise en valeur des terres.

Nell' ambito dell' ampio dibattito scaturito su tali tematiche, una parte fondamentale è stata rivestita dall' esigenza di ottimizzare l' utilizzo delle tecnologie dell' informazione al fine di promuovere la conoscenza e l' apprezzamento del patrimonio culturale e dei territori su cui insiste. Nel volume sono stati raccolti alcuni saggi volti all' adozione di misure per costruire e sviluppare al meglio le capacità dei curatori culturali nell' uso dei media virtuali e delle metodologie di comunicazione, di narrazione e di e-learning, coinvolgendo in tale processo i diversi stakeholders interessati, le comunità locali e, soprattutto, le giovani generazioni.

We hypothesized that our animal model could provide valuable information about alterations in the RAM of women with Gestational Diabetes (GDM). Method Newborns female rats (n = 10/group) were administered streptozotocin (100 mg/kg body weight) subcutaneously and were mated on reaching adulthood, to develop the mild hyperglycemic pregnant (MHP) rat model. At the end of pregnancy, the mothers were sacrificed, and the RAM tissue was collected. Pregnant women without GDM (non-GDM group; n = 10) and those diagnosed with GDM (GDM group; n = 8) and undergoing treatment were recruited, and RAM samples were obtained at C-section. The RAM architecture and the distribution of the fast and slow fibers and collagen were studied by immunohistochemistry. Results No statistically significant differences in the maternal and fetal characters were observed between the groups in both rats and women. However, significant changes in RAM architecture were observed. Diabetes in pregnancy increased the abundance of slow fibers and decreased fast fiber number and area in both rats and women. A decrease in collagen distribution was observed in GDM women; however, a similar change was not observed in the MHP rats. Conclusion Our results indicated that pregnancy- associated diabetes- induced similar structural adaptations in the RAM of women and rats with slight alterations in fiber type number and area. These findings suggest that the MHP rat model can be used for studying the effects of pregnancy-associated diabetes on the fiber structure of RAM. This paper untangles some new aspect in the nexus human mobility - development using both a broader socio-economic viewpoint and a gendered perspective. The study departs from an economistic vision of development considering it as a process of structural changes that transforms and defines interaction between individuals, communities and society. Development is considered in the perspective of the individuals who satisfying their individual needs, create better lives for them- selves and their families, (Sen, 2011; Nussbaum, 2011). The migrants are considered as agents who, while attaining their own needs and expectations, transform their social and economic status. As result the relationships with their families, the home community, and ultimately the country's socio economic environment is modi ed (Venditto 2018a). Financial and social remittances represent one of the ways in which such modi cations are manifested. This theoretical approach is applied to female migration in Moldova providing a preliminary descriptive analysis of such phenomenon. The investigative angle of the non-economic effects of social remittances (Levitt, 1998) is then proposed as future areas of investigation on gender migration in Moldova.

Parmi les processus en cours dans les sociétés contemporaines, la migration internationale est, sans doute, celle qui est au centre des controverses majeures aussi bien pour les conséquences sociales que pour les conséquences politiques qui derivent de la mobilité humaine. Pour cette raison, les dynamiques migratoires et les politiques visant à les gérer, ainsi que les impacts en termes d'intégration socio-économique sont depuis de nombreuses années au centre du débat public et politique dans la plupart des pays à économies avancées. L'accroissement des flux migratoires internationaux au cours des dernières décennies et la dimension importante atteinte par la population étrangère dans de nombreux pays , ainsi que les crises multiples qui se sont produites globalement ont également contribué à augmenter les intérêts et les craintes à l'égard du phénomène non seulement par les acteurs institutionnels et non institutionnels, impliqués dans la gestion des flux, mais aussi par l'opinion publique.Sur la base de ces prémisses, l'objectif de ce travail est de dresser un profil de la communauté marocaine dans le contexte migratoire italien, pour une meilleure compréhension de la réalité. Un autre objectif visé est la mise en évidence, à travers une connaissance du passé, du présent et des évolutions possibles, des liens de cette grande communauté avec à la fois l'Italie et le pays d'origine, car persuadées que les relations et les échanges, bien soutenues, peuvent apporter une contribution significative au développement humain, économique et culturel aussi bien des deux pays que des deux rives de la Méditerranée.

Polyploidy is an important factor in plant evolution that may trigger drastic genome reorganization and phenotypic differentiation. In the last decade, extensive studies have been carried to understand the consequences of allopolyploidization, where the effects of ploidy change may be confounded by interspecific hybridization. By contrast, less is known on autopolyploidization, which only involves doubling of homologous chromosomes. This study was undertaken to assess leaf anatomical modifications and gene expression changes occurring after doubling the somatic chromosome complement of diploid (2n = 2x = 24) potato species Solanum commersonii Dunal and S. bulbocastanum Dunal. Polyploidization did not induce qualitative changes in leaf structure and, for several leaf traits, anatomic modifications were stochastic. In addition, in both species a diploid superiority was generally observed, suggesting the occurrence of a high-ploidy syndrome. Expression change study was carried out on eight important cell cycle-regulatory genes in plant. It revealed a strong alteration of the expression patterns in the 4x genotypes with respect to the 2x parents. Changes often exceed the twofold, with no consistent trend towards up- or down regulation when comparing 2x vis-à-vis 4x. We discuss the possible relevance of epigenetic changes in controlling the expression of duplicated genes.

The contribute is based on the assumption that the study and experimentation field, related to the promotion of cultural heritage, requires an holistic approach aimed at the conservation and valorization of the cultural features and identity of the landscape. The aim of the research translated into action appears to give back the "genius loci" not only to the city's guests but also to the Neapolitan citizens. Specifically, through the study of the urban setting of "Piazza Municipio", the goal is to develop a process of analysis and experimentation that combines knowledge, communication and enjoyment of the local cultural landscape. Thanks to the excavations carried out for the construction of the underground stations, indeed, it was possible not only to rethink, in the light of discoveries that took place, the history of the city, but also to appreciate the strong potential of interaction, transit flows and aggregation that make this place a hub of knowledge transfer and fruition of many technological applications referring to the cultural heritage. In this context, the Metro system allowed Naples to play a central role among European metropolis, forming a significant instrument for the promotion of the enormous city heritage, strengthening the tourism potential, and the economic and social development of the whole metropolitan area. In a perspective of multi-level governance, the place chosen for the analysis and testing allows both to centralize urban, social, economic, historical and anthropological informations and the development of the local network system of public and private actors aimed at identifying jointly innovative models for the use, protection and enhancement of cultural heritage.

Il poster ricostruisce la metodologia e gli strumenti utilizzati per analizzare i luoghi oggetto di studio con l'obiettivo di valorizzarne le potenzialità, materiali e immateriali. In particolare si evidenzia l'uso dell'iconografia e della mitopoiesi e narratologia per "raccontare" i luoghi evidenziandone il "genius loci" in vista di un'adeguata tutela, fruizione e valorizzazione.

The Mediterranean Diet (MD) derived from the Greek word "díaita" according to nutritionists is a "traditional diet" which is adapted to all people living in countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea whose ancestors moved to the "cultivated food". In recent years the MD has received worldwide attention particularly for its health impact. As indicated in the pioneer work of Ancel Keys and subsequently on that of many recent scholars. The lifestyle attached to the MD is the best medicine to reduce cardiovascular disease (CVD). The MD however, cannot be simply identified with the "food" but must be seen as a holistic concept which promotes first of all social integration among the principal actors, which is derived by the practice of eating together, but also by the common practices of cultivation and harvesting linked to a seasonal calendar marked by nature and religious or ritual meanings attached to the rural life. For this reason in 2010 the MD received inscription on the UNESCO Representative list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. This paper highlights how focusing on the protection and promotion of the MD could be made possible to strengthen the Mediterranean countries from both economic and socio-cultural point of view. In this perspective the Mediterranean basin could emerge as an area of convergence between countries and regions in North and South of its shores. This would be possible through the creation of a partnership that aims at the production of goods of "Mediterranean quality". The role of women in this context has been particularly considered essential in the transmission of expertise well as knowledge of rituals, traditional gestures, celebrations and safeguarding of techniques at the base of the protection of the MD.
