Bu araştırmada öğrencileri küresel dünyaya hazırlayan ortaokul İngilizce ders kitaplarında evrensel değerlere ne düzeyde yer verildiği araştırılmıştır. Araştırmada tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri nitel veri toplama yöntemlerinden doküman incelemesi yoluyla toplanmıştır. Araştırmada evrensel değerlere ne düzeyde yer verildiğinin incelenmesi amacıyla, 2018-2019 yılı ortaokul İngilizce ders kitapları veri kaynağı olarak kullanılmıştır. Veriler toplanırken Karakterin Altı Temel Yapıtaşı sınıflamasında yer alan güvenilir olma, sorumluluk, saygılı olma, koruma-kollama, adil olma ve vatandaşlık bilinci evrensel değerleri temel alınmıştır. Araştırmada “vatandaşlık bilinci” değerinin kapsamı genişletilerek “etkili vatandaşlık” olarak ifade edilmiştir. Veri toplama aşamasında, söz konusu sınıflama temel alınarak geliştirilen Ders Kitabı İnceleme Formu kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada Ortaokul İngilizce Ders Kitapları betimsel analiz yöntemi ile incelenmiştir. Araştırmada ortaokul İngilizce ders kitaplarında her bir evrensel değere yer verilme oranının %20’nin altında olduğu belirlenmiştir. Bu nedenle incelenen kitaplarda evrensel değerlere yer verilme düzeyinin “yetersiz” olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır., In this study, the level of emphasis on universal values in coursebooks of English course which prepares students for the global world was analyzed. Survey method was used in this study. Data were collected with document analysis. Secondary school English coursebooks were used as data source to investigate in what extent they reflect universal values. While collecting data, trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship values taking part in Six Pillars of Character universal value classification was used. In this study, “citizenship” value is handled more extensively and stated as “effective citizenship”. In data collection process, Coursebook Analysis Form developed based on the universal value classification was used. The data were analyzed with descriptive analysis method. It is determined that the level of universal values in secondary school English coursebooks is below 20%. For this reason, it was concluded that partaking level of universal values in the books is “inadequate”.

Bu araştırma, öğrencilerin İngilizce dersi akademik performanslarını etkileyen bireysel faktörleri kuramsal olarak incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Öğrencilerin İngilizce dersi akademik performanslarını etkileyen olumlu ve olumsuz faktörlerin ortaya çıkarılmasının, öğrenen özelliklerinin daha iyi tanımlanmasında ve etkili öğrenme ortamlarının düzenlenmesinde faydalı olacağı düşünülmektedir. Bu kapsamda araştırmada başarı ve başarısızlığa yapılan yüklemeler, akademik öz yeterlik algısı, yabancı dil kaygısı ve dil öğrenme stratejileri bireysel faktörler olarak ele alınmıştır. Öğrencilerin İngilizce dersi akademik performanslarına etki eden faktörlerin kuramsal olarak tartışıldığı bu araştırmanın, etkili yabancı dil öğrenme ortamlarının düzenlenmesinde, hem program geliştiricilere hem de program uygulayıcılarına rehberlik edeceği düşünülmektedir. Araştırma sonuçlarına dayalı olarak düzenlenen öğrenme ortamlarının öğrenenlerin öğrenme davranışlarının farkında olması ve dil öğrenimi konusunda olumlu tutum geliştirmesine de katkı getirmesi hedeflenmektedir., This research aims to theoretically examine the individual factors that affect students' academic performance in English course. It is thought that revealing the positive and negative factors that affect the academic performance of students in English course will be beneficial in defining the learner characteristics better and in organizing effective learning environments. In this context, attributions to success and failure, academic self-efficacy perception, foreign language anxiety and language learning strategies were considered as individual factors. This study, in which the factors affecting students' academic performance in English course are discussed theoretically, is thought to be a guide for both program developers and program practitioners in organizing effective foreign language learning environments. It is aimed that the learning environments organized based on the results of this research will contribute to the awareness of learners' about their own learning behaviors and to the development of a positive attitude towards language learning.

The aim of this study is to make suggestions on the cultivation of prospective teachers in accordance with 21st century learning experiences. Within the scope of the research, the "Project Zero Classroom" course of the Faculty of Education of Harvard University was participated in and information was obtained about improving 21st century learning experiences. The course program aims to provide the participants with the information about the creation of effective and strong learning experiences in the 21st century, the best way to prepare young individuals for the future, which is very difficult to predict, and to make them dedicated to learning. In this context, it is aimed to answer questions such as how can the students and teachers' creative thinking and problem solving skills be supported, what is learning and how can it be improved, what is the role of evaluation in students' and teachers' learning. In this study, in which the qualitative method was used, the 21st century learning experiences were first described through document analysis, and then, based on these definitions, suggestions was made for updating the content of the teaching principles and methods course, which is a compulsory course in teacher training programs. In line with the suggestions given based on the results of the research, it is thought that the updated curriculum will contribute to the cultivation of prospective teachers in a more qualified way., Bu araştırmanın amacı, öğretmen adaylarının 21. yüzyıl öğrenme yaşantılarına uygun olarak yetiştirilmesine ilişkin önerilerde bulunmaktır. Araştırma kapsamında Harvard Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesinin “Proje Sıfır Sınıfı” (Project Zero Classroom) isimli kursuna katılım sağlanmış ve bu kursta 21.yüzyıl öğrenme yaşantılarını geliştirici çalışmalar hakkında bilgi edinilmiştir. Kurs programı, 21. yüzyılda etkili ve güçlü öğrenme yaşantılarının oluşturulmasına, genç bireyleri tahmin etmesi oldukça güç olan geleceğe en iyi şekilde hazırlamaya ve onları öğrenmeye adanmış hale getirme yollarına ilişkin bilgileri katılımcılara kazandırmayı hedeflemektedir. Bu kapsamda bu kursta, öğrencilerin ve öğretmenlerin yaratıcı düşünme ve problem çözme becerileri nasıl desteklenir?, öğrenme nedir ve nasıl geliştirilir?, öğrenci ve öğretmenlerin öğrenmesinde değerlendirmenin rolü nedir? gibi soruların cevaplanması amaçlanmıştır. Nitel Yöntem kullanılan bu araştırmada, öncelikle doküman incelemesi yoluyla 21. Yüzyıl öğrenme yaşantıları tanımlanmış, daha sonra bu tanımlamalardan yola çıkarak öğretmen yetiştirme programlarında zorunlu bir ders olan öğretim ilke ve yöntemleri dersi öğretim programının içeriğinin güncellenmesine ilişkin önerilerde bulunulmuştur. Araştırma sonuçlarından yola çıkarak verilen öneriler doğrultusunda güncellenen öğretim programının öğretmen adaylarının daha nitelikli olarak yetiştirilmesine katkı getireceği düşünülmektedir.

The competencies in the science curriculum are important in raising individuals who can solve the problems they encounter in daily life and make innovations in science and technology. At this point, the competencies included in developed countries’ science curriculum are a guide for developing countries. To develop science competencies effectively in schools, it is crucial to educate teachers first in the pre-service period according to both competencies of developed countries and the competencies specified in the science curriculum of their country. Therefore, in this research, the science competencies of Singapore, Estonia, Finland, Germany, America, and Turkey were examined first. Then considering these competencies, the science teacher education program of Turkey updated in 2018 by the Higher Education Institution was analyzed. The document analysis method was used in this study. This research shows that the competencies in mostly Germany science curriculum and then respectively, America, Turkey, Singapore, Estonia, and Finland science curriculum, are included in the science teacher education program. It is expected that this study will guide to designing science teacher education program of Turkey according to the competencies in the science curriculum of developed countries and Turkey., Gelişmiş ülkelerin fen bilimleri öğretim programlarında yer alan yeterlikler, öğrencilerin günlük yaşamda karşılaştıkları problemleri çözebilen bireyler olarak yetiştirilmesi açısından önemlidir. Bu noktada, öğretmenlerin hizmet öncesi dönemde hem bu yeterliklere hem de kendi ülkesinin öğretim programında belirtilen yeterliklere göre yetiştirilmesi, öğrencilerde bu yeterliklerin gelişimini etkili olarak sağlamaları açısından önemlidir. Bu kapsamda bu araştırmada öncelikle PISA sınavında fen bilimleri başarı sıralamasında ilk sıralarda yer alan Singapur, Estonya ve Finlandiya ile yenilikçi, girişimci ve teknolojide gelişmiş ülkeler içerisinde ilk üçte yer alan Amerika ve Almanya fen bilimleri öğretim programları analiz edilerek öğrencilerinden beklenen temel yeterlikler belirlenmiştir. Daha sonra ülkemizde fen bilimleri öğretim programında yer alan temel yeterlikler belirlenmiştir. Gelişmiş ülkelerde belirlenmiş yeterlikler ile ülkemizde fen bilimleri öğretim programında yer alan yeterlikler çerçevesinde, 2018 yılında güncellenen Yüksek Öğretim Kurumu Fen Bilgisi Öğretmenliği Lisans Programı analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarının öğretmen yetiştirme programlarının geliştirilmesine ve görevde olan öğretmenlere uygulanacak hizmet içi eğitimlerin içeriğinin güncellenmesine katkı getireceği düşünülmektedir.
