Linear increase in crystallite size (16–24 nm) of MnxZn1−xFe2O4 nanostructures and mixed behavior of lattice constant (8.429–8.462 Å) is reported. The system exhibits considerable promise for microwave applications due to its elevated dielectric constants and minimal dispersion losses from 20 Hz to 20 MHz. With x = 0.75, sample is good for energy storage devices like supercapacitors due to large specific surface area (53 m2/g) and dielectric constant. These samples exhibit maximum relaxation times ranging from 1.97 × 10−7 s to 2.43 × 10−4 s, with corresponding relaxation energy values spanning from 159.22 meV to 341 meV for x = 0 and x = 1 samples. The Cole-Cole plots reveal that grains exhibit conductive behavior at lower frequencies, while grain boundaries contribute significantly to the resistive behavior. Additionally, we have introduced Bode diagrams and equivalent electronic circuit models for the first time, offering valuable insights into the electrical behavior of the nanomaterial samples.

Fibre reinforced polymer laminates have low electrical conductivity compared to metals due to the high resistivity of the matrix phase, fibre-matrix interface, and fibres. This paper presents a new method for improving the electrical conductivity of fibre-polymer composites by through-thickness weaving of continuous filaments with high electrical conductivity (e.g. copper and other materials). Experimental testing and analytical modelling reveal that orthogonally weaving of conductive z-filaments in the through-thickness direction of carbon-epoxy composite increases the electrical conductivity by creating interconnected pathways for current flow. In particular, it is possible to increase the electrical conductivity by over two to three orders of magnitude by using a very low volume fraction (under 1.3 vol%) of metal z-filaments with a diameter of 0.51 mm. The improvements to both the in-plane and through-thickness electrical conductivities can be designed by controlling the volume fraction and by the judicious choice of the z-filament material.

The strength assessment is the most important part at the design of ice-class propeller. Based on ice rules for ice-class propeller in IACS URI3 and FEM, the strength assessment method of ice-class propeller is established in this paper. To avoid the multifarious meshing process of propeller blade, an automatic meshing method has been developed by dividing the propeller geometry into a number of 8-node hexahedron elements along radial, chordwise and thickness directions, then the loaded areas in five cases can easily be calculated and identified. The static FEM is applied to calculate the stress and deformation of propeller blade. The fair agreements between the results of the present method and ANSYS/Workbench demonstrate its robust and the feasibility, and also the method is able to produce smooth gradient field. The blade stress and deformation distributions for five load cases are studied, and then the strength of the whole blade is checked. We report an improved measurement of D0–D‾0 mixing and a search for CP violation in D0 decays to CP-even final states K+K− and π+π−. The measurement is based on the final Belle data sample of 976 fb−1. The results are yCP=(1.11±0.22±0.09)% and AΓ=(−0.03±0.20±0.07)%, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic.

In this paper, a low voltage low power up-conversion mixer, designed in a Chartered 0.18 μm RFCMOS technology, is proposed to realize the transmitter front-end in the frequency band of 2.4 GHz. The up-conversion mixer uses the current mirror topology and current-bleeding technique in both the driver and switching stages with a simple degeneration resistor. The proposed mixer converts an input of 100 MHz intermediate frequency (IF) signal to an output of 2.4 GHz radio frequency (RF) signal, with a local oscillator (LO) power of 2 dBm at 2.3 GHz. A comparison with conventional CMOS up-conversion mixer shows that this mixer has advantages of low voltage, low power consumption and high-performance. The post-layout simulation results demonstrate that at 2.4 GHz, the circuit has a conversion gain of 7.1 dB, an input-referred third-order intercept point (IIP3) of 7.3 dBm and a noise figure of 11.9 dB, while drawing only 3.8 mA for the mixer core under a supply voltage of 1.2 V. The chip area including testing pads is only 0.62×0.65 mm2.

We report a case of infectious mononucleosis initially presented with lymphoma-like features. Examinations revealed abdominal ascites, splenomegaly, elevated lactic dehydrogenase, extensive lymphadenopathy from neck to the mediastinum, and a high 18 F-fluoro-2-deoxy-D-glucose uptake pattern on positron emission tomography scan. The impression of lymphoma could not be ruled out based on the clinical manifestations, most importantly the diffuse necrosis with focal monotonous pattern and a high Ki-67 proliferation index found on pathological examination. Our presentation emphasizes the potential challenge in misdiagnosis of advanced infectious mononucleosis. Knowledge of its unusual clinical features is therefore essential to avoid misdirected interventions when it mimics diseases like lymphoma.
