Two nearly degenerate positive-parity bands with the πg9/22⊗νg9/2−1 configuration and three nearly degenerate negative-parity bands with the πg9/2(p3/2,f5/2)⊗νg9/2−1 configuration have been identified in 81Kr. They are interpreted as chiral doublet bands and pseudospin-chiral triplet bands, which is supported by the constrained covariant density functional theory and the multiparticle plus rotor model calculations. The present work reports two new chiral configurations πg9/22⊗νg9/2−1 and πg9/2(p3/2,f5/2)⊗νg9/2−1, and the first example of pseudospin-chiral triplet bands involving the π(p3/2,f5/2) pseudospin doublet.

β-decay studies of neutron-rich nuclei in and around the “island of inversion” have been performed. With a systematic investigation of half-lives for the isotonic chains from N=19 to 22, conspicuous kinks observed at Z=13 provide a clear signature of a boundary on the northern (high-Z) side of the island. Based on the comparison with shell model calculations using Gogny D1S and SDPF-M interactions, a newly determined 22+ state in 34Si at 4519 keV presents an experimental evidence of triaxiality in this region and sheds more light on the structure of the transition across the northern boundary of the island.

The heavy ion fusion–evaporation reaction study for the high-spin spectroscopy of 75As has been performed via the reaction channel 70Zn(9Be, 1p3n)75As at a beam energy of 42 MeV. The collective structure especially a dipole band in 75As is established for the first time. The properties of this dipole band are investigated in terms of the self-consistent tilted axis cranking covariant density functional theory. Based on the theoretical description and the examination of the angular momentum components, this dipole band can be interpreted as a novel stapler band, where the valence neutrons in (1g9/2) orbital rather than the collective core are responsible for the closing of the stapler of angular momentum.

The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of different supplemental intensity of green light in mixed light-emitting diodes (LEDs) on rice (Oryza sativa L.) seedling growth, and their after-effect on grain yield. The rice seedlings were nursed in greenhouse with 30-days continuous supplemental lighting (6 h/day) from three light sources: 75% red + 25% blue (photon flux density) LED (RB), 62.5% red + 25% blue + 12.5% green LED (RBG12.5) and 50% red + 25% blue + 25% green LED (RBG25), and then transplanted into paddy field in two consecutive years (2014 and 2015). The results showed that both shoot and root growth of rice seedlings were enhanced by the addition of green light into red and blue LEDs, but the response of different organ systems depended on the intensity of green light. The low percentage of green light in the light source (RBG12.5) could not only promote the stem elongation, the shoot dry weight accumulation and the root respiration activity but also could change the root morphology (indicated by the total surface area and the average diameter of root), while the high percentage of green light (RBG25) only changed the root morphology and increased the root respiration activity. The influence of light on rice during the seedling stage extends to the end of the maturity stage, with the highest rice grain yield, spikelets per panicle and the grain filling percentage in RBG25.

Double-walled nanotube (DWNT) electric lamps are synthesized and their relative efficacy is measured and compared with that of household tungsten lamps. The light efficiency of these lamps have shown DWNT as a kind of electric material that is highly efficient and energy saving.

In ruminant diets, soluble sugar is an important factor in the digestive process. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of the source and dose of soluble sugars, under controlled pH conditions, on the in vitro digestibility of DM, fibre fractions (NDF and ADF) and cell wall neutral monosaccharides of corn silage. Silage was collected from several points in a silage mass from a bunker silo, oven-dried at 55°C and ground through a 1-mm screen. Sub-samples were combined with sugars to compose the treatments, in a 5 × 5 factorial arrangement, as a combination of five soluble sugar sources (glucose, fructose, arabinose, xylose and sucrose) and five sugar doses (0, 100, 200, 300 and 400 g/kg sugar in DM corn silage), respecting the following proportions of sugar : corn silage, 0 : 100, 10 : 90, 20 : 80, 30 : 70, 40 : 60 represented by the sugar doses, respectively. An in vitro test was performed to determine the true digestibility (D) of the chemical entities (DM, NDF and ADF) and cell wall monosaccharides (glucose = gluc, arabinose = arab and xylose = xyl). During the first 12 h of incubation, the pH was maintained above 6.0 by the addition of 2.5 N NaOH. The concentrations of neutral monosaccharides (arabinose, xylose and glucose) were determined by GLC. The soluble sugars decreased the digestibility of corn silage followed by pH reduction, especially at doses higher than 200 g/kg sugar. Overall, xylose, followed by sucrose, fructose and arabinose, had greater impacts on DM digestibility, whereas fibre digestibility was impaired by sucrose at all doses. Xylose and fructose had greater impacts on NDF digestibility at 300 and 400 g/kg sugar. Although xylose impaired the Dgluc in the cell wall in all doses. All doses of glucose improved the Dgluc and Dxyl in the cell wall.

The enrichment of meat with selenium is important to improve the intake of selenium by humans. The effects of supranutritional doses of sodium selenite or selenium-enriched yeast on performance, carcass characteristics and meat quality were evaluated using 63 Nellore cattle in a completely randomized design with two sources (sodium selenite and selenium-enriched yeast), three levels (0.3, 0.9 and 2.7 mg Se/kg DM) and control treatment (without addition of selenium). Final body weight (BW), average daily gain, dry matter intake and gain to feed ratio (G : F) at the end of 84 days of supplementation were not influenced by treatments (P>0.05). Values of pH, ribeye area, back fat thickness and marbling score were also not influenced by treatments (P>0.05). Dressing percentage was greater (P=0.02) in Nellore cattle supplemented with organic Se (58.70%) compared to animals supplemented with inorganic Se (57.94%). Hot carcass weight increased (P=0.05) with the increasing of Se levels in the diet. RESUMO As plantas forrageiras tropicais apresentam alto potencial de produção de massa de forragem, condicionada às condições edafoclimáticas, principalmente à adubação nitrogenada. A magnitude da resposta depende do sincronismo entre a disponibilidade de nutrientes e as necessidades da planta forrageira na rebrotação, e os resultados encontrados na literatura são contrastantes. Assim, este trabalho foi realizado com o objetivo de avaliar características estruturais e bromatológicas de Panicum maximum Jacq cv. Massai submetido a quatro doses de nitrogênio (0, 40, 80 e 120mg/dm3) e três momentos de aplicação após o corte (um, três e sete dias), divididos em três cortes, em um esquema fatorial 4 x 3 e delineado inteiramente ao acaso, com quatro repetições. O experimento foi conduzido em casa de vegetação. O incremento na taxa de aparecimento de perfilhos, na densidade populacional de perfilhos, na produção de massa seca de folha total e nos teores de proteína bruta foi de 42%, 65%, 770% e 35%, respectivamente, para a dose de 120mg/dm³ em relação à ausência de adubação nitrogenada. As fibras em detergente neutro e em detergente ácido decresceram cerca de 6% e 9%, respectivamente, com a adição de nitrogênio. Apenas a massa seca de folha total respondeu às épocas de aplicação de nitrogênio após o corte, com valores pouco expressivos. A adubação nitrogenada exerce efeito positivo sobre as variáveis estudadas, porém novos estudos devem ser conduzidos para a definição da época de adubação de nitrogênio após o corte, para a melhor utilização do nutriente pelas plantas.

The Automatic Identification System (AIS) is an important maritime safety device, which is populous in inland rivers. Compared with that in open sea, the Package Error Rate (PER) of AIS in inland river has increased sharply due to its complex environment. With the help of hardware in loop simulation, it is possible to make statistical calculation on the PER under a given field strength and describe the data by quadratic rational fraction. Meanwhile, in the three dimensional software environments, the signal field strength is able to be calculated by the ray tracking method, which exhausts all the possible propagation paths, including direct way, reflection, diffractions, and the other medium attenuation matters. Beyond that, in the model, the propagation geography information in inland rivers is required to be simplified in some way, or the computation of the ray tracking is too hard to get. The paper set the Changjiang Wuhan channel as the field testing region, and all the deviations are less than 5% in sunny weather, which proves the method accurate and effective.

Ant colony optimization (ACO) is proposed on the study of the foraging behavior of ants on the basis of the proposed and widely used in the optimization. However, it has some shortcoming such as longer time, hardly implement and local optimal etc. For overcoming the above shortcoming, combined with the characteristic of Levy flight, based on Levy flight ant colony optimization is proposed which used Levy flight instead of local search for improving the searching efficiency. In order to test the performance of the new algorithm, we apply it to 20 benchmark function test and compare it with GA, PSO, ACO and LFACO algorithms. The comparison result shows that LFACO is far better than the other three algorithms in quality.

Determinou-se a digestibilidade aparente, pela coleta total de fezes, de dietas contendo 20, 40, 60 ou 80% de concentrado para novilhos Brangus e Nelore. Oito animais, quatro de cada raça, foram utilizados em delineamento quadrado latino 4x4, com cinco dias de adaptação e cinco dias de coleta de fezes, em cada período. Avaliou-se a influência do manejo de fornecimento de colostro nas concentrações de imunoglobulina G, glicose, proteína total, triglicerídeos, lactato e cortisol de 18 bezerros da raça Holandesa. Os animais foram distribuídos em três tratamentos: T1 - os bezerros foram separados das vacas 6h após o nascimento, mamando em suas mães, por 30 minutos, duas vezes ao dia, nos três primeiros dias; T2 - os bezerros foram separados 6h após o nascimento e nos três primeiros dias receberam o colostro em mamadeiras, duas vezes ao dia, quando receberam 2l/refeição; T3 - permaneceram o tempo todo com as vacas durante os três primeiros dias de vida. Foram colhidas amostras de sangue nos tempos de 0; 12; 24; 48; 72 e 96h após o nascimento.
