Abstract: We present the KLOE measurements on KS , KL , K �� semileptonic decays from which we find |Vus | = 0.2237(13). From the KLOE measurement of BR(K+�� + �� ) we obtain |Vus & Vud | = 0.2323(15). An overall fit gives |Vus | = 0.2249(10) and |Vud | = 0.97417(26), compatible with unitarity: 1- (V 2 ud + V 2 us +-4 . V 2 ub ) = (4 �� 7) �� 10

Abstract: We present results of a direct search for the decay KS → e +e- with the KLOE de- tector, obtained with a sample of e+e- → φ → KSKL events produced at DAPdblNE, the Frascati φ-factory, for an integrated luminosity of 1.3 fb-1. The StandardModel prediction for this decay is BR(KS → e+e -) = 1.6 × 10-15. The search has been performed tagging the KS decays by simultaneous detection of a KL interaction in the calorimeter. Background rejection has been optimized by using both kine- matic cuts and particle identification. At the end of the analysis chain we find BR(KS → e+e-) < 2.1 × 10-8 at 90% CL, which improves by a factor of ∼ 7 on the previous best result, obtained by CPLEAR experiment.

Abstract: An integrated luminosity of 410 pb-1, corresponding to �� 17 million of �� events, has been analyzed to measure the �� mass using the decay �� . The measurement is insensitive to the calorimeter energy calibration and the systematic error on the measurement is dominated by the uniformity of the detector response. As a cross check of the method the ��0 mass from the decay �� 0, ��0 �� has been measured and it is in agreement with the most accurate previous determinations. The result obtained is m �� = 547.873��0.007stat. ��0.031syst. MeV, that is today best measurement of the �� mass.

Abstract: The KLOE experiment has been collecting data since april 1999 at the DAΦNE collider in Frascati. A statistics of about 0.45 f b −1 has been analyzed. The latest results concerning the study of the ϕ radiative decays and of the kaon decays are illustrated in this paper.

Abstract: A search for the weak production of charginos and neutralinos decaying to a final state with three leptons (electrons or muons) and missing transverse momentum is presented. The analysis uses 2.06??????fb???1 of s???=7??????TeV proton-proton collision data delivered by the Large Hadron Collider and recorded with the ATLAS detector. Observations are consistent with standard model expectations in two signal regions that are either depleted or enriched in Z-boson decays. Upper limits at 95% confidence level are set in R-parity conserving phenomenological minimal supersymmetric and simplified models. For the simplified models, degenerate lightest chargino and next-to-lightest neutralino masses up to 300 GeV are excluded for mass differences from the lightest neutralino up to 300 GeV.

Abstract: We have measured the ratio R-S(pi) = Gamma(K-S --> pi(+)pi(-)(gamma))/Gamma(K-S --> pi(0)pi(0)) with the KLOE detector at the DAPhiNE e(+)e(-) collider. This measurement is fully inclusive with respect to the pi(+)pi(-)gamma final state. The sample of over 106 two-pion decays of tagged K-S mesons allows a statistical error as low as similar to 0.1% to be obtained. The accuracy is limited by systematic uncertainties, which are estimated primarily from data. We find R-S(pi) = 2.236 +/- 0.003(stat) +/- 0.015(syst). (C) 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. Abstract: We have studied the phi -> a(0)(980)gamma process with the KLOE detector at the Frascati phi-factory DA Phi NE by detecting the phi -> eta pi(0)gamma decays in the final states with eta -> gamma gamma and eta -> pi(+)pi(-)pi(0). We have measured the branching ratios for both final states: Br(phi -> eta pi(0)gamma) = (7.01 +/- 0.10 +/- 0.20) x 10(-5) and (7.12 +/- 0.13 +/- 0.22) x 10(-5), respectively. We have also extracted the a(0)(980) mass and its couplings to eta pi(0), K(+)K(-), and to the phi meson from the fit of the eta pi(0) invariant mass distributions using different phenomenological models.

Abstract: Using a sample of over 600 million phi->K+K- decays collected at the Dafne e+e- collider, we have measured with the KLOE detector the absolute branching ratios for the charged kaon semileptonic decays, K+/- -> p0 e nu (gamma) (Ke3) and K+/- -> p0 mu nu (gamma) (Kmu3). The results, BR(Ke3) = 0.04965 +/- 0.00038_{stat} +/- 0.00037_{syst} and BR(Kmu3) = 0.03233 +/- 0.00029_{stat} +/- 0.00026_{syst}, are inclusive of radiation. Accounting for correlations, we derive the ratio Kmu3/Ke3 = 0.6511+/-0.0064. Abstract: Recent results obtained by the KLOE experiment operating at DAPhiNE, the Frascati phi-factory, are presented. From a sample of about 10(9) phi-mesons produced at DAPhiNE, we select K-L and K-S tagged mesons. We present the preliminary results on the search for K-S --> 3pi(0), the branching ratio of the decay K-S --> pienu, and on the major K-L branching ratios, including the semileptonic decays relevant for the \V-us\ determination. A preliminary measurement of the K-L lifetime, using K-L --> pi(0)pi(0)pi(0) decays, is also given.

Abstract: We have searched with the KLOE detector for the P and CP violating decay eta --> pi(+)pi(-) in a sample of 1.55 x 10(7) eta's from the decay phi --> etagamma of phi-mesons produced in e(+)e(-) annihilations at DAPhiNE. No signal is found. We obtain the upper limit BR(eta --> pi(+)pi(-)) < 1.3 x 10(-5) at 90% confidence level. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Abstract: In the fixed energy environment of the e +e - collider DAΦNE, KLOE can measure the cross section of the process e +e - → hadrons as a function of the hadronic system energy using the radiative return. At energies below 1 GeV, e +e - → π → π +π - is the dominating hadronic process. We report here on the status of the analysis for the e +e - → π +π - γ channel, which allows to obtain a preliminary measurement of the pion form factor using an integrated luminosity of ∼ 73pb -1.

Abstract: The Frascati e +e - collider, DAΨNE, operates at a center of mass energy of ∼1020MeV, the mass of the φ-meson. Three detectors have been realized, KLOE, DEAR, and FINUDA. The first two are presently collecting data in the two DAΨNE interaction regions (IR), while the third is being assembled in its pit inside the DAΨNE hall and will take data in the IR occupied by DEAR. The KLOE experiment, which is designed to measure CP and CPT violation parameters in the K SK L system, has collected so far ∼300 pb -1. Measurements obtained using the year 2000 data sample will be presented, which are focussed on K S physics and φ radiative decays. The DEAR experiment aims at studying the scattering lengths of the kaon-nucleon system, through a precise measurement of the K α line shifts in kaonic hydrogen and kaonic deuterium. With 2001 and 2002 data-taking periods the DEAR collaboration has demonstrated the capability of creating and detecting exotic atoms using the kaon flux from DAΨNE, by measuring the X-ray spectrum of kaonic nitrogen. The present status and perspectives of the DEAR experiment will be discussed. A brief report will be given at the end on the FINUDA physics program, aiming at the study of the A-hypernuclei levels and lifetimes.

Abstract: The KLOE detector was designed primarily For the study of CP violation in neutral kaon decays at DAPhiNE, the Frascati Phi-factory. The detector consists of a tracker and an electromagnetic calorimeter. A lead-scintillating-fiber sampling calorimeter satisfies best the requirements of the experiment. providing adequate energy resolution and superior timing accuracy. We describe in the following the construction of the calorimeter, its calibration and how the calorimeter information is used to obtain energy, point of entry and time of the arrival of photons, electrons and charged particles. With e(+)e(-) collision data at DAPhiNE for an integrated luminosity of some 2 pb(-1) we find for electromagnetic showers, an energy resolution of 5.7%/rootE(GeV) and a time resolution of 54/rootE(GeV) ps. Abstract: The design and construction of the large Drift Chamber for the KLOE experiment at the Frascati φ-factory, DAΦNE, are described. The relevant aspects of the various elements of the detector are reviewed together with a description of the track reconstruction program and of the calibration procedures. The performance of the detector based on measurements with cosmic rays and with e+e− colliding beams during DAΦNE commissioning is presented.

Abstract: The KLOE detector is operational since spring '99 at DAPhiNE, the Frascati e(+)e(-) collider, a phi-factory running at 1.02 GeVc.m. energy. This detector has been designed and built with the primary goal of measuring Re(epsilon'/epsilon), the CP violation parameter in the kaon system, with a sensitivity of about one part in ten thousands. Apart from CP studies in the kaon system. KLOE has a rich scientific program that can be exploited with an integrated luminosity not far from the one which has already been collected, namely the study of phi decays into scalar and pseudoscalar mesons, the measurement of the hadronic cross-section up to I GeV rare kaon decays, phi decays into three pions. Since the detector installation there have been three periods of stable data taking and a total amount of similar to200 pb(-1) has been collected by end of 2001, corresponding to similar to6.7 . 10(8) phi mesons and to -8.7 . 10(6) eta mesons., being BR(phi --> etagamma) = (1.297 +/- 0.033) . 10(-2). We present the results obtained, for a data sample of 17 pb(-1) collected in the year 2000, for phi --> etagamma and phi --> eta'gamma: the ratio of these two BR's has been measured to be (5.3 +/- 0.5 +/- 0.4) . 10(-3), leading to a very accurate determination of the mixing angle in the flavor basis phi(p) = (40(-1.5)(+1.7))degrees and to the most accurate determination of BR(phi --> eta'gamma) to date: (6.8 +/- 0.6 +/- 0.5) . 10(-5). From the ratio BR(phi --> etagamma)/BR(phi --> pi(0)gamma) we have extracted the value BR(phi --> pi(0)y) = (1.377 +/- 0.007 +/- 0.05) . 10(-3).

Abstract: We have measured the branching ratio BR(phi-->pi(0)pi(0)gamma) with the KLOE detector using a sample of similar to5x10(7) phi decays. phi mesons are produced at DAPhiNE, the Frascati phi-factory. We find BR(phi-->pi(0)pi(0)gamma) = (1.09+/-0.03(stat)+/-0.05(syst)) x 10(-4). We fit the two-pion mass spectrum to models to disentangle contributions from various sources. Abstract: In a sample of 5.3 x 10(7), phi-decays observed with the KLOE detector at the Frascati phi-factory DAPhiDNE we find 605 etapi(o)gamma events with eta --> gammagamma and 197 etapi(o)gamma events with eta --> pi(+)pi(-)pi(o). The decay etapi(o)gamma is dominated by the process phi --> a(o)gamma. From a fit to the etapi(o) mass spectrum we find BR(phi --> a(o)(980)gamma) = (7.4 +/- 0.7) x 10(-5).

Abstract: A double-level trigger system has been developed for the KLOE experiment. Custom electronics asserts a trigger in a 2 mus decision time. The decision is based on the combined information of the electromagnetic calorimeter and the drift chamber. The entire trigger system is continuously monitored, and data flowing from the trigger system hal e allowed both an efficient online monitoring of the detector and an online luminosity measurement. Abstract: The main aim of the KLOE experiment at DA Phi NE, the Frascati phi -factory, is to study CP violation in the K-0-(K) over bar (0) system. Requirements on shower detection are very stringent. An hermetic, lead-scintillating fiber sampling calorimeter has been chosen and built. A review of the methods used to calibrate and reconstruct energy and timing is reported in this paper. Emphasis is given to the calibration procedures developed using the 2.4 pb(-1) collected in 1999. An energy resolution of 5.7% rootE/GeV is achieved together with a linearity in energy response better than 1% above 50 MeV. A time resolution of similar to 54 ps/ rootE/GeV is also measured on samples of radiative Bhabha and Phi decays. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. Ail rights reserved.

Abstract: The main goal of the KLOE experiment at the Frascati DAPhiNE phi -factory is the study CP violation in kaon decays. The tracking device of the experiment is a drift chamber whose dimensions, 4 m of diameter and 3.3 m length, provide a large acceptance volume for the decay products of low momentum K-L (lambda(L) = 3.4m). A complete stereo geometry with 12.582 cells arranged in 58 layers guarantees a high and uniform efficiency in the reconstruction of the charged K-L decays. Very light materials have been chosen both for the drift medium, a helium-based gas mixture, and for the mechanical structure, made of carbon fiber, to minimize multiple scattering and conversion of low-energy photons. The design requirements, the adopted solutions together with the calibration procedure and the tracking performances of the drift chamber are discussed. (C) 2002 Published by Elsevier Science B.V.

Abstract: A ��-factory offers the possibility to select pure kaon beams. Neutral kaons from �� KSKL are produced in a pure J PC = 1- quantum state. Detection of a kaon at large (small) times tags a KS (KL). This allows to perform precise measurement of kaon properties, as for example lifetime, and to study time evolution of neutral kaon system. The distribution of ��t, the difference between the two neutral kaon decay times, where both kaons decay into a ��+��- pair, provides unique opportunities for testing quantum mechanics and CPT symmetry. Using the full 2004-2005 data sample (L = 1.5fb-1) collected with the KLOE detector at DAF��NE, the Frascati e+e- collider, we update results of quantum mechanics and CPT invariance tests. We are finalizing the determination K S lifetimes using about 1/3 the whole KLOE data set. Abstract: A preliminary measurement of R = F (K± → e ±ν̄e)/ F (K± → μ±ν̄μ) at the KLOE experiment is discussed. The result, R = (2.55 ± 0.05 ± 0.05)x 10-5, is based on 1.7 fb-1 of luminosity integrated on the ��-meson peak at the Frascati e +e- collider DAPdblNE, corresponding to ��8000 observed K�� e�� e events. Perspectives on the methods planned to improve both the statistical and the systematic errors are briefly outlined.
