Preeclampsia (PE) is a multifactorial pregnancy specific disorder with complexity in pathophysiology. Many markers have been evolved but none of them was specific. The aim of the study was to compare the maternal serum soluble endoglin (sEnd) levels in pre-eclamptic & normotensive pregnant women in early and late gestational weeks. A total of 300 subjects were enrolled from the R.L.Jalappa Hospital and Research Centre, Obstetrics & Gynaecology department. In this case-control study design the cases were 150 subjects who were diagnosed as pre-eclamptic women and controls are 150 normotensive pregnant women who are healthy without any complications till delivery. Both in cases and controls the subjects were after 20 weeks of gestation. By taking written informed consent from each participant the 5ml of blood was collected and measured for the estimation of sEnd levels by using commercially available kits. The Area under Receiver Operating Characteristic Curve was calculated by using Statistical Packages for Social sciences Software with values 0.87 with 87% sensitivity and 83% specificity with cut off value ≥ 8 ng/ml. The sEnd levels are significantly increased in preeclamptic women than normotensive pregnant women (P=0.0001).So sEnd can be a diagnostic marker for PE in Kolar population. This is the first south eastern Indian study with 300 sample size.

Nano-materials in concrete helps in effective utilization pore space occupation leading to minimal etrringate formation which in-turn improving overall durability and improved performance of concrete on long-term. The present study aims at experimental investigation on Nano-alumina in concrete, its optimizations and its effects in concrete overall strength. Nano-alumina has been added to the concrete mix proportions of 1%, 2%, 3% and 4%.Totally108 cubes, cylinders and prism were casted for the grades of M30 and M40 of concrete and their respective compressive strength, spilt tensile strength and flexural strength has been analyzed by experimental investigation. The distribution of ultra-sonifcated, nano-alumnia in concrete has been analyzed by means of Scanning Electron Microscopic image patterns. Based on the experimental study Nano-alumina with 1% has showed better distribution along the matrix of concrete and also efficient in terms of improved compressive strength, split tensile strength and flexural.

Nowadays, the significant progress in technological sector’s growth is at its peak high and so the widening of internet to everything that include sensors and specifically the term IOT (Internet of Things). The main objective of this work focuses on tracking a person, baggage, vehicle (or any object etc) on real time basis, fetching all the environmental information surrounding the subject and partially controlling the subject. A database is created along when the human interacts with the subjects that are usually saved with various parameters along with the images. If it’s an electric object then along with its position details and image on a map, a human can remotely interact and control the object. If the case is of any non– electric object only the objects’ image and positional details with image description will be added to the map. It can descry and send fall-detection and environmental variation alerts. The information display, counsel and controlling can be done with the help of a web portal. The dignity of the human or an object with the current environmental circumstances are known with the help of Thing speak and hiox cloud type based – COAP (Constrained Application Protocol) Mode Control Algorithm. The paper covers all existing GPS (Global Positioning System) security sections of CoAP including tracking and safeguard of any person or an object. Transportation of sensitive materials (chemicals, industrial products etc) can be review properly with the device. Fall/smoke/fire detection along with other environmental (climatic) information like temperature, atmospheric pressure, gyroscopic inclination and humidity are monitored and the forewarn are given for the same. The device is customarily portable with a remotely controlling option of connecting it with the relay circuitry-for controlling appliances and objects.

Cold formed steel is one of the structural materials which are vastly growing product and being used as various structural elements. It has major advantages in time effectiveness and the ability to shape it into the necessary shape even in room temperature. In this study the behaviour of the Steel column having flutes of different shapes when filled with concrete will be analytically investigated by analysing 8 column models using Finite Element Analysis software. Here Cold formed steel is to be used as the hollow section that confines the concrete. The Finite Element Analysis software that will use for the analysis is ABAQUS 14. All the specimens will be loaded with an eccentrically load and the results will be studied further. By providing the flutes along the longitudinal length of the column increases the moment of inertia and the stiffness of the column. The parameters of the column that will be varied for the analysis are the D/t ratios, Shapes of flutes and the thickness of the steel column. High Strength concrete of grade M50 will be used here in this analytical study. The thickness of the steel column used is 1 mm and 1.2 mm. The shapes of the flutes varied is rectangular flute and triangular flute. The maximum stress induced was in the column with 1 mm thickness with triangular flutes. And the maximum load was carried by the Triangular fluted column with 1.2 mm thickness.

The ubiquitous stone column used in building construction in the ancient world was often fluted, it had parallel vertical grooves or channels cut into its surface. In this research, forty-two columns with different types of flutes and thickness were tested and their behaviour was studied. A Finite Element Analysis (FEA) model was developed to perform analysis of fluted columns subjected to compression. The cases with a different number of flutes such as 3, 4, and 5 respectively and with varying thickness of steel sheets 0.6 mm, 0.8 mm, 1 mm 1.2 mm, 1.4 mm, 1.6 mm, and 1.8 mm have been considered in this study. From the analytical investigation results it is understood that the increased number of flutes in columns directly effects on the load-carrying capacity of columns with five numbers of flutes having the highest load-carrying capacity, the lowest stress levels and less deflection relative to columns containing lesser number of flutes. The application of various thicknesses of column often has a strong impact on the ability to bear the load. The column with D/t of 88.88 exhibits greater load capacity, stress reduction, and lower deformation values compared to rest of column with different thickness.

Nowadays internet is loaded with tons of innovative web applications. This instantaneous growth has pa ved way for a number of security exposures. Cross Site Scripting attacks (XSS), SQL Injection (SQLI) and Malicious File Execution (MFE) are the foremost web related vulnerabilities reported by Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP). The attackers take advantage of the vulnerabilities in the code of the web applications and engage in activities such as data breach, cookies stealing and password theft which results in severe consequences. The major cause for these glitches is that the scripts allow the user input without scanning for pernicious contents. Several s ecurity measures on server-side also available, but they are not applied in large scale, because of the depl oyment difficulty. On the Client-side, usage of sec urity software worsens the client system’s performance which in turn reduces the web surfing experience of t he user. A new tool called XProber has been presented for verifying the string manipulating programs automatically. The pre and post conditions of common string functions using Push Down Automata (PDA) are computed and used to identify the presence of v ulnerabilities. This approach is capable of finding hefty amount of pernicious attacks in web application and prevents the attacks.

Antiaris toxicaria Lesch. commonly known as bark cloth tree. Its medicinal value is yet unexplored, hence this study forms a basis for the active components present in it and further isolation of the compound. The preliminary phytochemical screening in different solvent extracts of Antiaris toxicaria leaves, collected in the area Anaikatti, Coimbatore District exhibited variations in the presence of phytocompounds depends upon the polarity of solvents, the methanolic extract showed the presence of all phytoconstituents except alkaloids. In the present study, the methanol extract showed good antibacterial activity than chloroform and water extracts. It revealed that the methanol was the most effective solvent for the antibacterial activity. In antifungal activity, the aqueous and methanol extract showed good activity against Cuvularia lunata and Aspergillus flavus in which the zone of inhibition was higher against Aspergillus flavus.

The phytochemical constituents and the larvicidal and mosquito repellent activities of selected plants of Nyctaginaceae family viz., Boerhaavia diffusa, Bougainvillaea spectabilis, Mirabilis jalapa and Pisonia grandis were studied. Mirabilis jalapa demonstrated potential larvicidal and repellent activities against the mosquitoes than the other three plant species, which may be due to the presence of secondary metabolites in it. The results also indicated that the mosquito species Aedes aegypti was found to be more resistant as compared to Anopheles stephensi and Culex quinquefasciatus

The antibacterial activity of Bulbophyllum neilgherrense was tested against five species of bacteria, viz., Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus pumilus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Pseudomonas putida Aqueous, ethanolic and chloroform soluble extracts of leaf and pseudobulb (5.50 w/v) were screened for their antibacterial potential. The zone of inhibition was seen to be largest when alcoholic extract was used.
