In a typical presentation of intracavernous internal carotid artery aneurysm and cavernous sinus infection there is involvement of 3rd, 4th and 6th cranial nerves along with 2nd and 5th cranial nerve. Here we present a case of a 32 years old male with unilateral mycotic intracavernous internal carotid artery aneurysm with a history of head injury. Atypical features in this case was involvement of distantly situated multiple cranial nerves and sparing the 5th cranial nerve and optic nerve which are more near and commonly involved. Besides this patient has marked sphenoid sinusitis on left side but having no sign and symptoms.

The existing neuro-otological battery to recognise labyrinthopathy namely the recruitment of loudness and hyporeflexy of induced vestibular nystagmus, are inadequate to pinpoint the topographical localisation to the labyrinth. They are at the best positive in 95% cases. Those relatively more often positive are, the nonspecific signs of vestibulocochlear disorders. Apart from the stage and extent of lesion of the labyrinth, the validity of these tests also depends upon the aetiology of labyrtinthopathy. For the accurate diagnosis of labyrinthopathy, therefore, the circumstantial, clinical, biochemical and radiological factors are to be taken into consideration.

A follow-up study was conducted among 116 acceptors of female sterilization in Bikaner, India. It was found that the acceptors were younger, more often Hindu, more literate, had husbands who were more literate, were more often employed, and were more likely to have busbands in the service class group than the general population. All of these differences between acceptors and the general population were statistically significant. Although more than 90% of the women had knowledge of some other method of contraception, only 33.6% had actually used any other method. More than 80% of the sterilizations were performed postpartum. The fact that none of the women resumed sexual relations during the 1st month postoperative and only 6% between 1 and 2 months indicates the unnecessary cautiousness these women displayed. An increase in weight was a favorable side effect in almost 40% of the cases. The complaints were vague and could be due to other causes. The study indicates that an increase in female employment could help increase adoption of sterilization. Women are often making the decision for sterilization without their husbands' knowledge or consent. The wide gap between contraceptive knowledge and practice points up a need for more motivational effort by family planning workers.

The present study reports on 130 children, aged 0–5 years, who had acute infective diarrhea.E. coli was the commonest invading organism followed byShigella, Salmonella, Parotyphi B, Klebsiella andStreptococcus faecalis. On serological examination, 18 different serotypes ofE. coli were detected, the commonest being 0128 (12.61% cases). In eight cases, where the recovery took longer than 72 hours, multiple causative organisms were cultured.

Summary Twenty cases of acute intermittent porphyria were studied during the acute phase. Cardiovascular manifestations were noted in all the cases, with tachycardia in 20 and with hypertension in 17. Propranolol in doses ranging from 20–200 mg was given to all the cases and produced adequate control of tachycardia and hypertension. At follow-up, smaller doses of propranolol were found to maintain the pulse rate and BP within normal limits and also to prevent acute attacks.

An interesting case of Olfactory Neuroblastoma in a 26 year old female patient is presented and vario aspects of its treatment and prognosis are discussed along with a review of literature.
