Abstract

Gamma Knife Radiosurgery (GKRS) is a treatment choice in newly diagnosed AVMs and residual AVMs following endovascular interventions. Aim of this study is to determine if commercially available liquid embolic agents reduce the radiation dose to the target due to the attenuation of the 60Co beam. Doses accumulated by three different embolization materials, namely: Onyx, cyanoacrylate and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) were analysed. A collimator helmet size of 8mm was employed in a Monte-Carlo simulation implemented in Geant4 simulation toolkit. Obtained dose accumulations were evaluated and results demonstrated statistically significant differences in the dosimetries calculated., Comment: We would like to withdraw our paper due to a disagreement between authors

Abstract

Amaç: İnternal karotid arter (İKA) darlığını belirlemede, dupleks Doppler ultrasonografi (DUS) ile dijital subtraksiyon anjiyografi (DSA) arasında tutarsızlık bildirilmiştir. DUS hız değerleri ile eğitilmiş makine öğrenme algoritmalarının (MÖA), İKA darlığını tahmin etme performansını araştırmayı amaçlıyoruz.Gereç ve yöntem: İKA darlığı olan 159 karotid bifurkasyonunun, ortak karotid arter (OKA) ve İKA'dan elde olunmuş DUS hız değerleri (pik sistolik hız (PSH) ve diyastol sonu hızı) ve DSA tetkikleri retrospektif olarak incelendi. Darlık derecesi her modaliteye göre, Purpose: There is a discrepancy between duplex Doppler ultrasonography (DUS) and digital subtraction angiography (DSA) for determining internal carotid artery (ICA) stenosis. Abstract

Ventriculoperitoneal shunting is the most common and most effective method to resolve hydrocephalus. A dysfunctioning shunt is a cold fact and beginning of cascades of various problems for every neurosurgeon. In this article we discussed probable mechanisms of shunt dysfunction due to an abdominopelvic problem which is treated by a basic indwelling urinary catheter in a 14 year old boy.
