The topic of dark tourism emerged in the last three decades as tourism became more accessible. It allows forgotten history to be revised and transferred to the public. This study aims to restructure existing categorization regarding dark tourism and address the research gaps in dark tourism studies. We collected studies from international publication databases – Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar. We pre-processed the following data for each study: topic, authors’ location of university affiliation, study area, year of publication, top-cited articles, top productive journals in publishing dark tourism studies, keywords, and internality/externality of the author from the study area. With the current paper, we analysed review articles published from 1996 to 2024 (first quarter), applying qualitative methods. Based on these, a new analytical framework was generated. Furthermore, the connections between research topics were also analysed. The results of the analysis highlight specific research gaps in the literature on dark tourism and address poorly visible research fields in international journals, e.g. terrorism-related research, social media links of dark tourism, postcolonial contexts, or commemoration of communist past and heritage. Consequently, certain countries and regions are underrepresented in the literature. This critical review offers new research areas but also gives some directions to the theoretical enrichment of the dark tourism concept.

The aim of the article was the assessment of the spatial matching of existing shelters (supply) to the distribution of residents in Suwałki (demand), considering their declared transport behaviours while evacuating during war. The analysis was conducted based on the locations of existing emergency shelters using data on population distribution (registration data with building accuracy). Spatial alignment was determined using the P-Median problem and E2SFCA. In terms of establishing vehicular or pedestrian travel time, the Manhattan metric based on the urban road network model was utilised. A model of vehicle movement speed was then constructed, while a constant speed was assumed for pedestrian movement. Additionally, survey data on the transport behaviour of inhabitants of Suwałki in the case of war were conducted in 2023. The study concluded that the population residing within the city limits should evacuate on foot, and that prior training on the evacuation process is especially necessary for those who reside in less populated areas of the city. The analyses also showed that existing emergency shelters are overly dispersed, making management difficult for emergency services. Since the current capacity of emergency shelters is not sufficient for the number and distribution of inhabitants of Suwałki, the most practical significance of this article in this respect is to indicate to the authorities the optimal number and location for emergency shelters (to improve the evacuation process).

The purpose of the article is to determine the role of information in human-geographical research. Therefore, the authors analyzed and characterized the features of types and categories of information and analyzed the concepts and theories of information used in information geography as initial and basic options for identifying the definition of "information". Based on the analysis, they propose the concept of "information" from the perspective of human geography and identify its role in human-geographical research, as it enables human geographers to analyze and comprehend the intricate interactions between society, nature, and the connections between spatial structures. Results. The article reveals the fundamental role of information in human geography, providing the basis for the analysis, interpretation, and prediction of social and spatial processes. The interdisciplinary significance of the human-geographical concept is also considered. Its primary function is to combine data from various fields of knowledge and contribute to a comprehensive understanding of the complex interaction between humans and nature. The authors analyzed previous foreign and domestic studies of various scientific areas, in particular human geographers, and also examined the most common philosophical concepts of information: attributive, functional, and anthropocentric. Today, there is constant discussion and no single point of view among scientists about information concepts. The article analyzes the concepts and theories of information used in information geography as initial and basic, the definitions of the concept of "information", and the peculiarities of its use in human-geographical research. Based on the analysis, the authors proposed the concept of "information" from the standpoint of human geography and its role in human-geographical research. The main contradictions between society and nature were also revealed, and the basic principles of interaction between society and natural systems in the multisystem of environmental management were considered. The authors highlighted the ideas of the formation of the concept of the social and geographical system and the socio-geographical process and revealed the peculiarities of the embodiment of ideas in human-geographical research. In human-geographical research, information plays a crucial role in determining the level of society's development. Researchers use this information to study the distribution of human activities and natural resources, plan and manage territories, analyze dynamics and transformations in spatial structures and communication networks, and understand their impact on society. The collection and processing of primary geodata allow for the integration of different types of information and the creation of cartographic models. The utilization of information facilitates socio-economic and urban analysis, enabling the study of the demographic system's features, including its structure, distribution, and the characteristics of its primary categories. In further studies, the authors are going to prepare a model illustrating the role of information in the processes of territorial management, regional development, and restoration.

The Canindé Domain is crucial for understanding the pre-collisional events in Sergipano Belt, Borborema Province, especially during the Late Stenian/Early Tonian (740–680 Ma). We present thermobarometric, geochronology, and isotopic studies of the metavolcanosedimentary rocks of the Novo Gosto unit. The calculated metamorphic conditions resulted in a range of T: 600–740°C and P: 3.5–10.0 kbar for non-mylonitic amphibolites and values of T: 636–808°C and P: 7.0–12.0 kbar for mylonites, both of amphibolite facies. The minimum metamorphic conditions imprint in these rocks are T: 390°C and P: 2.5 kbar, indicating retrometamorphism in greenschist facies. The probable age of the peak metamorphic event was obtained in zircon rims from a quartzite at 692 ± 8.5 Ma. U-Pb detrital zircon and Nd model ages of the metasedimentary rocks point out Early Tonian as primary source rocks. Subordinate contributions of Mesoproterozoic, Paleoproterozoic, and Neoarchean sources were also recognized. These primary sources are related to Cariris Velhos event rocks, whereas the subordinate sources are from the Pernambuco-Alagoas superterrane. Early Tonian and Late Stenian ages were recognized for the first time in the Canindé Domain, with U-Pb zircon ages of 1005 ± 3 and 989 ± 6 Ma in amphibolites and mylonitized granites, mostly outcropping at the southwestern limit of the area. New ages were also obtained in the Novo Gosto surrounding intrusions: Canindé Layered Gabbroic Intrusion (~718 Ma), Garrote (~715 Ma) and Curralinho/Boa Esperança (~708 Ma) metagranites, and Gentileza metavolcanic rock (~700), which integrate the early pre-collisional magmatism of the Sergipano Belt (~740-680 Ma). Finally, U-Pb zircon ages were obtained in the Poço Redondo Domain, potential source area of the Novo Gosto metasedimentary rocks, resulting in ages of 957 ± 11 and 988 ± 15 Ma. The new data bring perspective to future correlations with adjacent belts and the understanding of the structuration of West Gondwana during the Brasiliano-Pan-African Orogeny. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
