Crop rotation associated with the use of cover crops promotes the introduction of crop residues to the soil, with direct and indirect effects on theavailability of plant nutrients, especially nitrogen (N). The objectivesof this study wereto estimate the N utilization from15N-ureaand cover crop residues (labelled with 15N)of maizecropsgrown in succession,andevaluate the effectsof the isolated and combined use of cover crops and urea on maize plant height, yield components,andgrain yield, grownunderano-tillage system. Field researchwas conductedin anOxisol (Rhodic Haplustox), Cerrado (Savannah) phase. The experimental design was a randomized block with 20 treatments and four replications in a 5x4 factorial scheme. The treatments were four cover cropsspecies: sunnhemp (Crotalaria juncea L.), pigeon pea (Cajanus cajan(L.) Millsp), green velvetbean (Mucuna prurens),and millet (Pennisetum glaucumL.) + spontaneous vegetation (fallow in the off-season),combined with four N rates: 0, 30, 90,and 150 kg ha-1, applied at the sowing and topdressingstages. The results showed that legume covercropsprovided maize grain yieldsequivalent tothe applicationof 80-108 kg ha-1N as urea. TheureaN utilizationby the maize was at an averageof43.5% of the appliedamount.The results indicatethat cover crops, particularly legume cover crops,are an important source of N to non-legume cereals.Legumes used as cover crops can replace nitrogen fertilizers of more than 80 kg ha, which is both environmentally and economically viable for corn production. Avaliou-se o efeito da adubação com 0, 50, 100 e 200 kg/ha de N aplicadas em cada um dos 4 intervalos de crescimento no inverno/primavera sobre a produtividade de matéria seca em 30 dias (PMS), o índice de clorofila foliar (ICF) e os teores de nutrientes digestíveis totais (NDT), proteína bruta (PB), fibra em detergente neutro (FDN), fibra em detergente ácido (FDA) e lignina, bem como, as equações de correlação do ICF com a PMS e o teor de PB nos capins marandu e ruziziensis após o consórcio com milho em um Latossolo Vermelho Distroférrico sob irrigação. As maiores PMS ocorreram com o aumento do fotoperíodo, no entanto, houveram respostas diferenciadas deste atributo ao longo dos cortes, entre e dentre os capins quanto à adubação nitrogenada. Em sistema de integração lavoura-pecuária irrigado sob condições de cerrado é tecnicamente viável o estabelecimento dos capins marandu e ruziziensis pelo consórcio com o milho no momento da semeadura ou por ocasião da adubação nitrogenada de cobertura. Na ausência de adubação N foi produzida quantidade satisfatória de forragem, com PMS média de 1733 kg/ha, na época de maior escassez de volumoso para os animais (inverno/primavera). No entanto, a adubação N, após a colheita do milho elevou a PMS e melhorou a composição bromatológica dos capins, com aumento do ICF e dos teores de PB e NDT, e reduziu os teores de FDN e FDA no inverno/ primavera. As melhores equações de correlação em função do ICF foram logarítima para a PMS e potencial para a PB do capim-marandu e potencial para ambos os atributos do capim-ruziziensis. We evaluated the effect of fertilization with 0, 50, 100 and 200 kg/ha of N, applied in each four growth intervals in the winter/spring season on dry matter yield in 30 days (DMY), leaf chlorophyll index (LCI) and total digestible nutrients (TDN), crude protein (CP), neutral detergent fiber (NDF), acid detergent fiber (ADF) and lignin contents, and correlation equations of LCI with DMY and CP content in the marandu and ruziziensis grasses after intercrop arrangements with corn in Red Latosol (Oxisol) under irrigation. The major DMY occurred with photoperiod increasing, however, there were different responses to this attribute over of growth intervals, between and among the grasses with the N fertilization. In irrigated croplivestock integration under savannah soil is technicality viable the cultivation of marandu and ruziziensis grasses, established by intercrop with corn at sowing or at the N fertilization. As even, in the N fertilization absence, produced satisfactory amounts of forage, with 1733 kg/ha (DMY), at the time of greatest scarcity of roughage to animals (winter/spring season). However, after the corn harvest, the N fertilization increase the DMY and improves the chemical composition, increasing the LCI, and CP and TDN contents, and decreasing NDF and ADF contents in the winter/spring season.The best correlation equations in function of LCI were logatithmica for DMY and potential for CP of the marandu grass and potential for both attributes of the ruziziensis grass.

It was evaluated the effect of the absence and of application of three nitrogen doses (50, 100 and 200 kg ha-1of N) and four harvest times in the winter/spring season (from July to October) on dry mass yield (DMY), on the relative chlorophyll contents (ICF _ leaf chlorophyll index) and on the contents of total digestible nutrients (TDN), crude protein (CP), neutral detergent fiber (NDF), acid detergent fiber (ADF) and lignin, and their respective correlations on Tanzania and Mombaça grasses after intercrop with corn in distroferric red latosol (Oxisol) soil as well. It was used a random block design, in split-plot with four replicates. The greatest DMY occured with the increase of photoperiod (from August), neverthless responses to nitrogen fertilization over cuts difered among the grasses. In an irrigated crop-livestock integration system under cerrado conditions, it is technically feasible the establishment of Tanzania and Mombaça grass intercroped with corn at sowing or if cover nitrogen fertilization is performed because even in the abscence of nitrogen fertilization, great satisfactory quantity of forage was produced, with average DMY of 2,000 kg ha-1 per cut during the highest shortage of roughage for animals (winter/spring). Nitrogen fertilization after corn harvest increases DMY and improves bromatologic composition of the grasses, as contents of chlorophyll and CP in winter/spring is increased, besides the increase of contents of TDN and a reduction on the contents of NDF and ADF until September. Leaf chlorophyll index can be used to estimate the DMY and CP content and as a marker of the need of nitrogen fertilization of Tanzania and Mombaça grasses submitted to cutting. Avaliou-se o efeito da ausência e da aplicação de três doses de nitrogênio (50, 100 e 200 kg ha-1 de N) e quatro épocas de corte no inverno/primavera (julho a outubro) sobre a produtividade de massa seca (PMS), os teores relativos de clorofila (ICF _ índice de clorofila foliar) e os teores de nutrientes digestíveis totais (NDT), proteína bruta (PB), fibra em detergente neutro (FDN), fibra em detergente ácido (FDA) e lignina, bem como suas respectivas correlações nos capins tanzânia e mombaça após o consórcio com milho em um Latossolo Vermelho distroférrico. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi o de blocos casualizados, em parcelas subdivididas, com quatro repetições. As maiores PMS ocorreram com o aumento do fotoperíodo (a partir de agosto), no entanto, as respostas à adubação nitrogenada ao longo dos cortes diferiram entre e dentre os capins. Em sistema de integração lavoura-pecuária irrigado sob condições de cerrado, é tecnicamente viável o estabelecimento dos capins tanzânia e mombaça em consórcio com o milho no momento da semeadura ou por ocasião da adubação nitrogenada de cobertura, visto que, mesmo na ausência de adubação nitrogenada, foi produzida quantidade satisfatória de forragem, com PMS média de 2.000 kg ha-1 por corte na época de maior escassez de volumoso para os animais (inverno/primavera). A adubação nitrogenada após a colheita do milho eleva a PMS e melhora a composição bromatológica dos capins, com aumento dos teores relativos de clorofila e PB no inverno/primavera, além de aumento dos teores de NDT e redução dos teores de FDN e FDA até o mês de setembro. O índice de clorofila foliar pode ser utilizado para estimar a PMS e o teor de PB, bem como indicar a necessidade de adubação nitrogenada dos capins tanzânia e mombaça submetidos a corte.

In this work it was demanded to verify the zinc critical levels in soybean plants cultivated in a Dark-Red Latosol. So the experiment was carried out in vases with 4 liters of soil, which has received five doses of Zn (0, 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0 ppm) in three correction levels. It was verified that the critical levels of the nutrient in plant (for 90% from highest production) was between 36 and 53 ppm to the dry matter yield and grains in treatments with correction. The present work aimed at studying the effect of five doses of zinc (0, 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0 ppm) in three levels of soil correction. A Dark-Red Latosol, clay texture, oryginally recovered by cerrado vegetation was used. Soybean was used as test plant, cultivated in green-house conditions. The zinc dose affected dry matter production of aerial parts and grain only in the treatments that received the corrective. The concentration of the element in the soil increased linearly with the dose application, and the critical levels in soil (90% of the maximal yield) were between 0.27 and 0.37 ppm of zinc in the treatments with the equivalent to 2.0 t/ha and 3.2 t/ha of lime, respectively. Dry matter production and accumulation of macronutrients were studied by growing plants in nutrient solution and taking samples at given physiological intervals. It was found that curves describing dry matter production and uptake were sigmoidal in tendency. Maximum rate of uptake was observed within a 2-month period starting at full tillering and ending at the stage of panicle formation. Leaf levels of N, P, and K decrease as the plant grows older; the opposite is true in the case of the other elements. Foi estudada à marcha de absorção de macronutrientes nas variedades de arroz IAC-164 e IAC-164 cultivadas em solução nutritiva, chegando-se às seguintes conclusões: as curvas que descrevem a acumulação de matéria seca e de nutrientes apresentam tendência sigmoide; o período de maior absorção vai do perfilhamento pleno à formação da panícula (2 meses aproximadamente); os teores foliares de H, P e K apresentaram tendência para diminuir do começo para o fim do ciclo o inverno ocorrendo com os dos outros elementos.

No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2019-01-01 Alternatives to reduce losses of nitrogen (N) in the soil, increasing the use of the plant nutrient efficiency are important depending on N dynamics in the soil, to increase their use and achieve high yields economically profitable. In this context, economically-analyzed whether the effect of the mechanical application of N doses as urea, in different forms and times of application, in the grain yield of corn in Cerrado region with low altitude (Brazilian Savannah). The experiment was conducted in Selvíria - state of Mato Grosso do Sul, an Oxisol clayey, in 2013/14. The experimental design was a randomized complete block design with four replications, in a factorial 6 x 2 x 2, as follows: 6 N doses (0, 50, 100, 150, 200, 250 kg ha-1), 2 application times (totally in sowing or topdressing) and 2 application forms (surface or incorporated) of N, analyzing total operacional cost (TOC), effective operacional cost (EOC), gross revenue (GR), operating profit (OP), profitability index (PI), equilibrium price (EP), and equilibrium yield (EY). The urea application at a dose of 150 kg ha-1, fully applied at sowing and surface provides greater profitability in irrigated maize, ensuring profitability with production of grains in the Cerrado with low altitude.
