The Covid-19 pandemic forced many companies to alter and improve their logistics activities as part of their business logistics strategies, to obtain cost and service advantages. In this regard, to lessen the detrimental effects on the business environment, it is critical to develop different strategies according to the nature of the disruptions and uncertainties. This paper explores uncertainty sources confronted by third-party logistics service providers (3PLs), identifies disruptions, reveals the resources used to cope with these and develops strategies for the Covid-19 pandemic. Drawing upon Resource Orchestration Theory (ROT), we reveal the important role of resource allocation in logistics and supply chains (SCs). This study proposes a conceptual framework that describes resources which can be used for strategy development in the face of uncertainties. In terms of managerial implications, this study extends knowledge in the field by providing insights enabling 3PLs to improve their capabilities and increase their performance. Brazil is the largest consumer of pesticides in the world, the amount used causes a lot of damage to the environment (BORSOI et al., 2014). Reverse logistics operates from the planning and control of logistical information equivalent to the process of returning after-sales and consumption products to mastering the cycles of logistics and business (LEITE, 2009). In this sense, the general objective is to evaluate the reverse logistics process used for containers of agricultural pesticides in rural communities in the municipality of São João Evangelista. Based on this study, on-site visits were made to ten family farming properties in the rural municipality, carried out in the month of May of the year 2023, and during these visits, data were collected from observations, photos and dialogues with local farmers. Through conversations with the ranchers, the lack of nearby collection points, the lack of transportation and information, are one of the determining factors in the difficulties encountered, and that cause the incorrect disposal and reuse of packaging. It was observed that there are many difficulties encountered by small livestock farmers in relation to the return of postconsumption containers. The municipality does not offer any structure for receiving these packages until the time of the local study and currently, there is no collection by traders in the region. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The increasing demand for food delivery services driven by technological innovations has led to a surge in online shopping and food ordering. Efficient logistics play a crucial role in connecting customers with restaurants seamlessly. In this context, the practical application of graphical networks is explored in this article to streamline food delivery operations. We introduce a novel parameter eternal m-certified domination number denoted by γmcer∞(G) , which represents the minimum number of guards needed to handle any sequence of single orders using multiple-guard movements, ensures that the guard arrangement consistently constitutes a certified dominating set. A case study is presented, illustrating how this concept can be employed to de-crease human resources in a food delivery start-up. This research contributes to optimizing food delivery logistics and reducing operational costs, thereby enhancing the efficiency of the food delivery industry.

In recent years, the community group buying market has been developing rapidly, and the group buying categories are mainly fresh food, so one of the keys to the success of the community group buying platform lies in the supply chain logistics, in which the cold chain logistics is the key to guarantee the fresh food products for the time and quality. In this paper, on the combing research of the theories and problems of community group purchase, cold chain logistics, and vehicle path planning, in view of the existing problems of cold chain logistics and distribution business in Jinan distribution center of J company's community group purchase, taking into account the actual demand of the grid station and the characteristics of the fresh products to be stored at low temperatures, we constructed the optimization model of the cold chain logistics and distribution path that minimizes the total cost under the demand of the fuzzy time window of the grid station, and designed the distribution area is divided by using K‐means clustering, and then, the distribution path in each sub‐distribution area is optimized and solved by genetic algorithm, and then, the validity of the optimization scheme is verified, the number of distribution trucks used is reduced by two, and the distribution cost is reduced by 12.77%, and optimization measures such as promoting the standardization of warehousing and distribution, and creating a digital and integrated logistics information platform are proposed. This paper examines the antitrust investigations by the European Commission (AT.40703 – Amazon Buy Box) and Italian Competition Authority (A528-FBA AMAZON), and the regulatory proceeding by the Italian Authority for Communications and Postal Services (AGCom's resolution 94/22/CONS), surrounding Amazon's Store, and the interplay with its logistics and delivery services. While these authorities have raised concerns about Amazon's alleged "self-preferencing", rapid growth, and its alleged ability to leverage its (upstream) e-commerce market power to strengthen its position in (downstream) logistics services, this paper highlights alternative perspectives that are often overlooked or neglected. To achieve a comprehensive understanding of Amazon's conduct related to the above-mentioned investigations, we consider its business model, monetisation strategy, and underlying incentives. By delving deeper into the Amazon Store and its connection to logistics services, we argue that the allegations do not fully capture the evidence surrounding Amazon's practices. The green shipping faces ongoing challenges in meeting the demands of international trade with an environmental focus, driven by international regulations and negative impacts of the shipping industry on the environment. The purpose of this review is to examine research and strategies related to green shipping through a scientific mapping approach. Bibliometric tools such as R-Studio, Bibliometrix, ToS, and Gephi in graph theory were employed to represent the field's structure and trends. A total of 238 publications were selected from the Scopus database, covering the period between 2004 and 2023. The results highlight highly relevant themes, including optimizing maritime routes, adopting clean fuels, sustainable navigation policies, and modernizing the fleet of vessels. Similar to world trade, container transportation and the tendency to transport various cargoes with containers is increasing in Türkiye. Moreover, in a world where production centers will be shifting with the Covid-19 pandemic, it can be said that Türkiye's production will increase and over and above expectations, container traffic in its ports will expand. In this context, it is anticipated that the urban of Kocaeli will need more container transportation between container ports and logistics centers. Development processes need to be well planned so that this increase in container transportation does not disrupt the traffic of cities, ports and logistics centers. This planning should be carried out by reconciling the current situation, the demands of the logistic stakeholders and the future vision. This study aims to reveal whether Kocaeli container ports, logistics centers and the urban need alternative transportation methods for economic and sustainable development and to offer solution suggestions by analyzing the opinions of all logistics stakeholders. The data collected in the research were analyzed using the Kruskal Wallis H test in the IBM SPSS 22.0 program, and the hypotheses were questioned. Reconsidering alternative opportunities in transportation for the development of ports and logistics stakeholders of Kocaeli urban in a competitive structure, increasing the road and railway transportation capacities between the ports and Köseköy Logistics center will be appropriate, a new/alternative transportation method will have a positive impact on the efficiency of the ports/logistics businesses, inland waterway/canal to the logistics center. The purpose of this study was to assess on use of synchronized logistics drivers towards optimized supply chain operations by using Tanzania among the developing country as a case study. On methodology, the study employed descriptive survey design and population of the study involved registered logistics service providers in Tanzania whose list were obtained from Tanzania Revenue Authority’s data base. Quantitative data from 126 respondents were analyzed by using descriptive analysis presented in form of frequency and percentages and also the relationships between synchronized logistics drivers and optimized supply chain operations were tested by using correlation analysis. The results indicate that majority of respondents agreed on the role of synchronized logistics drivers towards optimization in supply chain operations whereby after testing the results by using regression model the information system variable was found significant among the three tested variables (p = 0.002). The study concluded that synchronized information systems play significant role in achieving optimized supply chain operations thus the study implication on practice and social is that synchronization of logistics drivers will enhance optimization in supply chain operations. On originality, most of the past reviewed studies have concentrated on the aspect of synchro modality which is one component of logistics driver (modes of transport); this study establishes a new foundation by studying synchronization in the inclusion of more logistic drivers in supply chain operations (information, transport and warehousing). The paper is focused on the issue of business logistics performance and sustainability of countries in the EU due to their constantly growing importance in the social, economic and environmental field. We assume a significant dependence between the mentioned quantities. To research the relationship between business logistics performance and sustainability, we used the data of the business logistics performance index and the sustainability index across each EU countries. The importance of the selected indices lies in the ability to identify possible opportunities and challenges of business logistics as a benchmarking tool to increase its performance. To assess the relationship of these researched parameters, we applied the correlation coefficient, cluster and geographic analysis to identify relatively homogeneous groups - EU countries - clusters with the greatest possible difference within the clusters. The results proved a statistically significant dependence between the performance of business logistics and sustainability in EU member states. In Ambato, the low availability of suppliers represents a significant challenge for business logistics, directly impacting operational efficiency, legal compliance, and competitiveness. This study aims to analyze the legal implications of business logistics in this region and propose strategies. The Neutrosophic Saaty AHP method was used for the development of the study, identifying the predominant challenge as the "low availability of suppliers," which can lead to legal risks related to contract non-compliance and supply chain issues. To address this challenge, the strategy of promoting the formation of strategic alliances and diversifying supply sources was proposed using the Neutrosophic IOWA-VIKOR method. This allows for the evaluation of suppliers' ability to meet demand and company requirements. The study also highlights the need to address challenges, manage indeterminacies, and optimize logistics chain operations in Ambato's businesses. In modern society, e-commerce logistics services are replacing traditional manual transportation methods. However, fresh transportation challenges have emerged. This study proposes applying the factor constraint algorithm to the e-commerce logistics path transportation problem. The multi-objective constraints and optimization of node tasks, vehicle full load, route closure, and other issues in the process of logistics transportation are firstly carried out. The final target is the shortest path of logistics deliver. Then the genetic algorithm, particle swarm algorithm, and ant colony algorithm are integrated to obtain the HMOAC algorithm, and the logistics path transportation model is constructed. The research findings indicate that the HMOAC algorithm shows a high level of fit, with a 95% match compared to the ant colony algorithm. The main purpose of this study is to research the literature and examine how logistics companies can effectively integrate modern digital technologies of Industry 4.0 internally and then present the most critical steps and conditions that determine the successful operation of an innovative business model in logistics, as well as the expected benefits of this process. This study was written entirely as a literature review. Four steps of literature review research were completed: (a) initial formulation of the problem, (b) search of literature sources, (c) selection and evaluation of articles, and d) final classification and presentation of data. The results show that the most critical steps and conditions that contribute to the successful adoption of new Industry 4.0 technologies in the business models of logistics companies are Business Model Innovation, Digital Transformation, Quality 4.0, Human Resource Management, and Logistics 4.0. These critical prerequisites and Industry 4.0 architecture are now at the forefront of logistics, proving the key role they play in modernizing a business and gaining competitive advantage, and to fully reap these benefits, businesses must be prepared to adapt their organizational culture, embrace change, and invest in the necessary resources. Business logistics encompasses the intricate planning, seamless implementation, and precise control of the efficient and effective movement and storage of goods, services, and associated information from their origin to their final consumption point. The strategic placement of facilities is intricately intertwined with business logistics, exerting a direct influence on the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of supply chain operations. In the realm of business logistics, decisions regarding the location of facilities, including warehouses, distribution centers, and manufacturing plants, assume a pivotal role in shaping the overarching logistics strategy. Warehouses, serving as pivotal nodes in the supply chain network, establish crucial links at both local and global markets. They serve as the nexus connecting suppliers and customers across the entire supply chain, thus constituting indispensable elements that significantly impact the overall performance of the supply chain. The optimal location of warehouses is paramount for efficient supply chains, ensuring minimized costs and bigger profits. The decision on warehouse location exerts a profound influence on investment costs, operational expenses, and the distribution strategy of a company, thereby playing a substantial role in elevating customer service levels. Hence, the primary objective of this paper is to propose a novel methodology grounded in the application of the Improved Fuzzy Stepwise Weight Assessment Ratio Analysis (SWARA)-Measurement of Alternatives and Ranking according to Compromise Solution (MARCOS) methods for determining warehouse locations tailored to a logistics service provider (LSP) operating in the Serbian market. Through the definition of seven evaluation criteria based on a comprehensive literature review and expert insights, this study aims to assess five potential locations. Purpose: This study identifies and characterizes configurations of generic business models for logistics service providers (LSPs) in the context of industrial additive manufacturing (AM). A literature-based framework of the AM service supply chain (SC) is developed to embed the generic configurations in their SC context. Design/methodology/approach: Following an exploratory research design, 17 interviews were conducted with LSPs, LSPs' potential partners and customers for industrial AM services. Findings: Six generic configurations are identified, the LSP as a Manufacturer, Landlord, Logistician, Connector, Agent and Consultant. The authors outline how these configurations differ in the required locations, partners and targeted customer segments. Practical implications: The current discussion of reshoring and shorter, decentralized AM SCs confronts LSPs with novel challenges. This study offers guidance for managers of LSPs for designing business models for industrial AM and raises awareness for LSPs' resource and SC implications. Originality/value: This study contributes to the scarce literature on AM business models for LSPs with in-depth empirical insights. Based on the six identified configurations, this study sets the ground for theorizing about the business models, in particular, the value creation, value proposition and mechanisms for value capture of the business models. By implementing the standardization of logistics services, modern organizations strive to reduce the cost of circulating inefficient services and improve overall efficiency, thereby aiding overall economic growth. The aim of this paper is to show how logistics standardization affects the development of corporate market competitiveness. First, the standardization of logistics services significantly promotes the corporate tendency to establish a long-term market position. Also, the standardization of logistics functions aims to mitigate financial fluctuations and accelerate organizational growth. And finally, the understanding of the globalization of business relations in the context of business logistics should show how traditional logistics functions have shifted towards modern trends. This paper also presents the role of logistics standardization in promoting corporate mechanisms in the context of restructuring operations aimed at increasing the adaptive capacity of the organization and its further distribution of services in different markets.

In this work, a machine learning application was constructed to predict the logistics performance index based on economic attributes. The prediction procedure employs both linear and non-linear machine learning algorithms. The macroeconomic panel dataset is used in this investigation. Furthermore, it was combined with the microeconomic panel dataset obtained through the data envelopment analysis method for evaluating financial efficiency. The procedure was implemented in six ASEAN member countries. The non-linear algorithm of an artificial neural network performed best on the complex pattern of a collective instance of these six countries, followed by the penalized linear of the Ridge regression method. Due to the limited amount of training data for each country, the artificial neural network prediction procedure is only applicable to the datasets of Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines. Ridge regression fits the Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam datasets. The results provide precise trend forecasting. Macroeconomic factors are driving up the logistics performance index in Vietnam in 2020. Malaysia logistics performance is influenced by the logistics business's financial efficiency. The results at the country level can be used to track, improve, and reform the country's short-term logistics and supply chain policies. This can bring significant gains in national logistics and supply chain capabilities, as well as support for global trade collaboration, all for the long-term development of the region. Purpose: A key issue in the transportation of pallets is their proper preparation. The selection of an appropriate pallet, the stacking of goods and the proper securing of the pallet with the cargo is intended to minimize the risk of damage to the goods. Transporting goods on a pallet allows for additional protection of fragile items, as well as transporting heavy or oversized cargo. Unfortunately, damage to transport shipments is a common problem for many companies, for the sake of the damage to the goods being transported and the costs they entail. That's why it's so important to be safe when transporting pallet shipments to reduce its negative effects. This article addresses the problem of a logistics operator that serves its customers by first placing products on pallets and then loading the pallets onto trucks. In addition to the standard geometric constraints of keeping products from overlapping and exceeding the dimensions of pallets and trucks, there are many other constraints in this real-world problem, related to the total weight of the load or the distribution of the load inside the truck, as well as transportation safety. By analyzing the transportation process and shipment damage data, it was possible to propose measures to implement to reduce or eliminate the occurrence of damage to pallet shipments. Design/methodology/approach: The article briefly reviews the literature in the area of the concept of pallet. A map of the processes of execution of the transport order of pallet shipments was used, as well as FMEA analysis, which is an effective tool for identifying potential risks, causes of damage and their impact on the process of transporting pallet shipments. Findings: The purpose of the article was to analyze the current state of transportation management in the studied company using process mapping and to detect the causes of the appearance of damage to pallet shipments using FMEA analysis. The article highlights the issue of accelerating the decision-making process in an exemplary business system that is designed to fulfil orders for customers. The information flow model with its mathematical representation is introduced. A pseudocode indicating the course of action in which simulations of the computational process is performed is shown. The simulation study illustrates the simulation procedure in order to extract data minimising the costs of making decisions in the discussed system. It is assumed that the most important goal when searching for a solution for the given input data is the need to find the satisfactory solution which allows to complete the business process. The thorough analysis of the obtained results made it possible to draw consistent conclusions for the business process taking into account the use of randomised input data. In the digital world with a focus on customer experience, the journey that begins in the virtual realm is completed with a positive impact when it turns into a physical experience, thanks to successful operations in logistics processes. The purpose of this article is to systematically examine the integration of artificial intelligence into processes in logistics management within the supply chain, thereby providing a framework for businesses in the industry. The main motivation for the methodology developed through the process-technology alignment in logistics management is derived from existing research in the literature. The seven areas in logistics management identified by Mentzer et al. (2008) serve as the theoretical guiding principles and foundation of this study.
