The increasing development of the competitive market has forced organisations to make great efforts in the processes of supply, production, and distribution to meet customer demand in the shortest time and at the lowest cost. A cross-docking (CD) system is one of the successful and practical strategies in this field considered by researchers in various fields. Also, business process management plays a key role in continuous improvement and increased productivity. In today's digital age, due to the ability to record all activities, process mining is an important method to identify the current situation and improve productivity. In this research, a newly established CD belonging to a chain store is studied to improve the current situation, in which different goods enter and then exit after different processes. The purpose of this study is to obtain the optimal number of doors and loaders as sources. First, helping an RFID system, all activities are recorded, and the current situation of the processes is monitored, and then, the real process model is identified using heuristic and inductive miner algorithms. Demand shocks and fluctuations underscore the need for new approaches to coordinate collaboration between firms to scale up production. This paper proposes an approach to formalise product and process requirements via a collaboration ontology and applies semantic reasoning techniques for process formation. Our approach contributes to production research by providing flexibility in coordinating firms engaged in demand-driven collaboration. The proposed approach has four core dimensions: (1) The Collaboration ontology builds on a set of product assembly requirements, process steps, their input/output resources and semantic rules; (2) the ontology reasoner derives resource dependencies between the steps; (3) the java tool interprets resource dependencies as possible transitions in Business Process Management Notation (BPMN); (4) a workflow engine executes the generated product assembly process. The approach and the ontology were validated in an industrial aerospace tendering scenario demonstrating its practical relevance for firms seeking demand-driven collaborations to react to production changes. Challenges and trials in HR require everything that deals with being a person to anyone and any office. This study aimed to contribute to the field of human services management as well as to business and management by measuring the process of organizational learning, work engagement, and the role of HR officers in HSOs in Cagayan de Oro City to be backed up with the best model when dealing with its staff and faculty regarding organizational performance. The study used descriptive correlational and causal-comparative designs. Two hundred fifty-five respondents were fulltime staff and faculty in the selected higher institutions in the city. A researcher's survey questionnaire was used to gather the data and identify the influence of the variables. Results revealed that the respondents' answers were highly aware, very highly implemented, very highly engaged, and very highly performed when dealing with the organizational performance of HEIs, showing causal model 3 is the best-fit model for organizational performance. It is concluded that the environment plays a vital role in the level of awareness of the role of human resource officers, where improvements in the hiring process must be thoroughly evaluated, leading to the organizational performance of the higher education institutions. It is recommended that the administration encourage the HR officer to propose a continuous development of emotional intelligence programs and seminars to improve the social-emotional awareness of the employees, leading to well-developed self-control and interpersonal skills, which are vital to the organizational performance of institutions. The so-called digital transformation of the construction industry is essential to overcoming long-standing global productivity stagnation. This transformation aims to adopt the latest technological developments and methodologies to improve construction productivity while supporting data-informed decision-making. However, the construction sector has fallen short of meeting the fast-growing population's demands for sustainable quality infrastructure at the required pace as it has not yet taken full advantage of these advancements. Despite broad experience in managing projects, when it comes to modeling, monitoring, and re-engineering processes, the construction industry has fallen behind several other industries. To overcome these challenges, efficient construction processes and operational strategies are essential to keeping organizations competitive and meeting market demands. In this regard, even though several studies on process modeling and management in construction exist, research on construction process improvement and automation through data-driven process mining remains understudied. Moreover, the literature lacks a comprehensive review of process-oriented studies with practical industry insights. To fill these gaps, this paper aims to provide an exhaustive analysis of process mining, modeling, and management as reported by the most current state of the literature in the architecture, engineering, construction/facility management (AEC/FM) domain coupled with a current industry perspective. As a result, the authors: (1) propose a conceptual process classification framework that considers the broad spectrum of process-oriented studies in the existing literature; (2) identify construction processes commonly present across a project's life cycle; (3) design and conduct structured interviews with subject matter experts to validate identified processes and get industry insights about them; (4) spot major literature gaps describing future research opportunities; and (5) develop a business process model canvas template that supports construction organizations in improving their corporate memory and pursuing construction productivity growth by better managing, monitoring, and automating construction processes. In today's dynamic business environment, organizations constantly change their business models to respond to emerging digital technologies and shifting customer expectations. It is a fundamental challenge to translate these changes into the organization's operating model. When organizations redesign their business models, significant adjustments to the operating model and its underlying business processes are necessary to ensure the effective delivery of the value proposition to customers. Existing research falls short in detailing how changes to the business model at the tactical level impact the operating model at the operational level. To address this gap, this paper introduces the Compass Method. This method provides guidance for decision-makers at the tactical and operational levels in identifying necessary changes to their operating model using a set of operating model design cards. The method has been developed following the design science research methodology and is grounded in extant knowledge from both business model research and process management research. Three rounds of design and evaluation of the method were completed in multiple settings. The study contributes to the understanding of the relationship between business models, operating models, and business processes, paving the way for the development of complementary methods and tools to further investigate this relationship. Business process management (BPM) is changing in the digital age. As a result, organizations are confronted with new logics that their business processes adhere to: processes are designed to allow for easy adaptability, infrastructure becomes progressively more flexible, and process participants make their own decisions in ambiguous situations. In this context, business process change becomes increasingly important. Digital ventures – key phenomena in the digital age – heavily rely on digital technology and, hence, have the potential to change quickly. Consequently, their business processes need to change at the same speed. While the literature on BPM proposes different types of business process change and acknowledges that digital technology can enable such developments, it remains to be explored which specific characteristics of digital technology facilitate business process change. The study investigates this by drawing on a multiple case study with seven digital ventures. It finds four patterns of business process changes in digital ventures, illustrating digital technology's impact on business processes. The study compares the patterns with existing types of business process change from the literature and discusses differences and similarities, trying to advance the understanding of business process dynamics in the digital age. Process mining is advancing as a powerful tool for revealing valuable insights about process dynamics. Nevertheless, the imperative to employ process mining to enhance process transparency is a prevailing concern for organizations. Despite the widespread desire to integrate process mining as a pivotal catalyst for fostering a more agile and flexible Business Process Management (BPM) environment, many organizations face challenges in achieving widespread implementation and adoption due to deficiencies in various dimensions of process mining readiness. The current Information Systems (IS) knowledge base lacks a comprehensive framework to aid organizations in augmenting their process mining readiness and bridging this intention-action gap. The paper presents a Process Mining Maturity Model (P3M), refined through multiple iterations, which outlines five factors and 23 elements that organizations must address to increase their process mining readiness. The maturity model advances the understanding of how to close the intention-action gap of process mining initiatives in multiple dimensions. Furthermore, insights from a comprehensive analysis of data gathered in eleven qualitative interviews are drawn, elucidating 30 possible actions that organizations can implement to establish a more responsive and dynamic BPM environment by means of process mining. This study investigates the influence of Business Process Management System (BPMS) implementation on an organization's process orientation through a case study of a financial service provider. Business process maturity models are utilized to capture change in process orientation. Explorative data analysis, Bayesian ordinal regression, and structured interviews are employed for the analysis. Findings suggest that a successful BPMS introduction positively influences diverse aspects of process orientation, extending both process and organizational capabilities beyond process automation. We explore motivations for adopting Business Process Management (BPM) by analyzing 290 customer use cases published on-line by BPM systems vendors. This study examines the relationship between sustainability and employee perceptions of Human Capital Management (HCM) practices in Cebu City's Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry. The participation of 370 different BPO companies at Cebu I. T. Park indicates their dedication to HCM and highlights areas that require improvement, particularly in labor relations and HRIS deployment. Employee evaluations are influenced by demographic factors such as age, gender, and educational attainment. Suggestions for improvement include implementing employee development plans, streamlining the HRIS, strengthening due process, integrating sustainability into HCM practices, and personalizing strategies based on demographics. To foster adaptable workplaces and keep pace with the changing BPO landscape, it is strongly advised to employ continuous monitoring and feedback mechanisms. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In business process management, business process change analysis is the key link to ensure the flexibility and adaptability of the system. The existing methods mostly focus on the change analysis of a single business process from the perspective of control flow, ignoring the influence of data changes on collaborative processes with information interaction. In order to compensate for this deficiency, this paper proposes a rule-driven consistency analysis method for data changes in collaborative processes. Firstly, it analyzes the influence of data changes on other elements (such as activities, data, roles, and guards) in collaborative processes, and gives the definition of data influence. Secondly, the optimal alignment technology is used to explore how data changes interfere with the expected behavior of deviation activities, and decision rules are integrated into the Petri net model to accurately evaluate and screen out the effective expected behavior that conforms to business logic and established rules. Finally, the initial optimal alignment is repaired according to the screened effective expected behavior, and the consistency of business processes is recalculated. The experimental results show that the introduced rule constraint mechanism can effectively avoid the misjudgment of abnormal behavior. Compared with the traditional method, the average accuracy, recall rate, and F1-score of effective expected behavior are improved by 4%, 4.7%, and 4.3%, respectively. In addition, the repaired optimal alignment significantly enhances the system's ability to respond quickly and self-adjust to data changes, providing a strong support for the intelligent and automated transformation of business process management. Today's business systems are faced with an increased intensity of changes from the environment, growing complexity and increased competition, which affects the increase in the level of risk in all areas of management and execution of business processes. Therefore, Risk Management (RM) discipline and practice is increasingly applied in almost all types of business systems. RM is the systematic approach of identifying, estimating and reducing threats or uncertainties that may influence organizations. This article presents the proposed model for monitoring and managing business risks, including strategic and operational goals, organizational responsibility and management, business performance, internal audit and internal control, application of information systems and the success of business processes. The research was conducted on a sample of 387 respondents, employed in manufacturing and service companies. Purpose: The aim of this article is to attempt to answer the questions: Is process management theory implemented in business practice, and if so, to what extent? Are there discrepancies in the assessment of this phenomenon between academic experts and experts directly involved in business implementation? Design/methodology/approach: The research was conducted in 2023 using a methodology that employed two methods of data collection: Computer Assisted Personal Interview (PAPI) and Computer Assisted Personal Interview (CAPI). The study involved 116 respondents, including 33 scientists and 83 practitioners. The research tool was a questionnaire. Data analysis was carried out in two stages: analysis of the overall results and analysis by dividing the population into theorists and practitioners. Findings: The research results indicate a strong attachment of respondents to traditional and long-used definitions in the field of business process management, suggesting stability in the perception of the fundamental concepts of this field. Consistencies between knowledge and its practical application were observed. Significant differences were found between the two studied groups of respondents in the assessment of the attributes of process management in business. Research limitations/implications: The study is limited to Polish enterprises and may not be generalizable to other contexts. Further research could explore these questions in different cultural or organizational settings. Practical implications: The findings suggest that while traditional definitions in process management are stable and widely accepted, there are notable differences in how theorists and practitioners assess process management attributes. This highlights the need for better integration of theoretical knowledge and practical application in business processes. Social implications: Understanding the alignment and discrepancies between academic theories and practical applications can help bridge the gap between research and practice, leading to more effective business process management strategies that benefit both academic and business communities. Originality/value: This study addresses a gap in the literature regarding the practical applications of process management theory in Polish enterprises, providing valuable insights into how these theories are implemented and perceived by different expert groups. The rapid advancement of information technology has become a critical factor in supporting business processes, especially for startups operating 24/7. These businesses rely heavily on robust IT systems to ensure service availability. IT service assessment plays a vital role in evaluating and improving the quality of IT services within organizations. This study evaluates IT service management at PT Loyal.id using the ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) V3 framework, focusing on service management and service delivery. By implementing ITIL, the organization can enhance incident management, problem management, and service desk performance. The study uses a self-assessment tool in the form of a website for evaluation. The assessment revealed that IT services at PT Loyal.id are still inadequate, with service desk and incident management reaching only level 1.5, and problem management reaching level 2. The results indicate that the organization's IT services require significant improvements to meet ITIL standards and enhance service quality, ultimately aligning IT operations with business objectives. In managing business processes of complex hierarchical systems, primary attention is given to analysing, accelerating, and optimising the basic processes typical for any company. The goal of this work is to prove that while managing business processes, it is crucial to consider the peculiarities of the external and internal environment to determine the effects of individual triggers. An example of business process analysis was provided regarding the peculiarities of managing IT service companies operating in a dynamic environment of rapid technological changes. The business processes analysis of IT service companies in Ukraine was conducted. Business process groups characterised by low use of labour and financial resources and excessive and high levels of risk management were determined. An algorithm for optimising the IT company's business processes was developed. Simulation and optimisation models for managing IT company business processes were developed using scenario modelling and simulation techniques. Based on these models, a predictive evaluation of management impacts on business processes was conducted, representing individual clusters according to defined management strategies. Purpose: Quality management (QM) can support organisations in contributing to sustainable development. As a result of an expanding focus from customers towards stakeholders within QM, the perspectives to consider multiply. Understanding how practices and tools for process management are specifically affected by this increase in perspectives is key to creating the right conditions for improvement initiatives that support sustainable development. Design/methodology/approach: This paper constructs a typology wherein the use of process management practices and tools is described in nine distinguished system contexts. Inductive discrimination is used to differentiate the system contexts and different use cases for process practices and tools. Findings: Using the system of systems grid (SOSG), mainstream business process management (BPM) practices are positioned in a simple unitary context, whilst sustainability challenges also involve more complex contexts. Addressing these challenges requires integrating new tools and methods from paradigms outside of traditional functionalist business process management practices. Research limitations/implications: This paper highlights the necessity to consider system contexts when developing feasible practices and tools for effective process management. Practical implications: Practical implications are that quality practitioners aiming to exploit the potential in process management to support sustainability get support for planning and conducting process improvement initiatives aiming to consider several stakeholder perspectives. This study aims to identify the main barriers in implementing business process innovation in government organizations using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. The barriers were categorized into four aspects: people, technology, structure, and process, in accordance with the Socio-Technical Theory approach. The results show that a lack of knowledge and training related to innovation, limited funding, and inadequate technological infrastructure are the dominant barriers. In addition, complex bureaucracy and lack of structured processes are also significant barriers. The research recommends a holistic approach that includes improved communication, training, technology investment, as well as bureaucratic reform to foster more effective innovation. The findings provide a basis for better policy-making and emphasize the importance of further research to understand and address barriers to innovation in different countries.

This paperwork explores the transshipment operations at the Port of Constanta, Romania, focusing on the unloading of big bags from barges. Utilizing Business Process Management (BPM) software, the study models the transshipment process to identify optimization opportunities. The investigation reveals challenges such as coordination complexities and potential cargo damage, alongside the benefits of cost-efficiency and flexibility offered by transshipment services. Through literature review and analysis, the study emphasizes the importance of efficient business processes and the role of BPM software in enhancing operational efficiency. By employing Aura Portal Modeller for simulation, the study identifies bottlenecks and proposes optimization strategies for the transshipment process. The proposed measures include real-time cargo assessment, inventory tracking systems, equipment analysis, and storage layout optimization. This research contributes to the understanding of transshipment operations and highlights the effectiveness of BPM software in process visualization and analysis, offering insights for enhancing efficiency and mitigating delays in supply chain management.

In modern-day conditions, organizations need to maintain a high standard of quality in order to meet the ever-growing demands of consumers. In this context, the relevance of implementing quality management systems among organizations is increasing over time. However, not all organizations are able to implement this system in their manufacturing facilities due to the complexity of the process. To solve this problem, an algorithm of quality management system implementation has been developed. This algorithm allows gradual implementation of the system in the organization, and this leads to business process optimization, allows organizations to maintain competitiveness and achieve success in a strategic perspective.
