We present a study of the radio and optical properties of the high-frequency peaker (HFP) blazar PKS 1614+051 at $z=3.21$ based on the data covering the time period of 1997-2024. The radio data are represented by the almost instantaneous 1-22 GHz measurements from the SAO RAS RATAN-600 radio telescope, the 5 and 8 GHz data from the IAA RAS RT-32 telescopes, and the 37 GHz data from the RT-22 telescope of CrAO RAS. The optical measurements in the $R$ band were collected with the SAO RAS 1-m Zeiss-1000 and 0.5-m AS-500/2 telescopes and the ZTF archive data. We have found low overall variability indices (0.1-0.2) and a spectral peak around 4.6 GHz, which is stable during the long-term period of monitoring. An analysis of the radio light curves reveals significant time delays (0.6 to 6.4 years) between the radio frequencies along with variability timescales ranging from 0.2 to 1.8 years in the source's rest frame, which is similar to the blazars at lower redshifts. Spectral modeling suggests the presence of both synchrotron-self absorption (SSA) and free-free absorption (FFA) processes. Based on the SSA model, we provide estimates of the magnetic field strength, which peaks at $\sim\!30$ mG. A spectroscopic study with the BTA SCORPIO-I spectrograph has found signs of the regular motion of a neutral hydrogen envelope around the blazar center, which confirms the presence of enough gaseous matter to form an external FFA screen. The results highlight the importance of multiwavelength and long-term monitoring to understand the physical mechanisms driving the variability in high-redshift blazars.

The results of the analysis of 205 brightest sources ( $S>15$ mJy), which were found in the sky survey at the declination of the pulsar in the Crab Nebula, are presented. The survey was conducted at a frequency of 4.7~GHz using a three-beam radiometer complex installed in the focus of the Western Sector of the RATAN-600 radio telescope in 2018-2019. Based on the measurements and data collected in the database of astrophysical catalogs CATS built radio spectra of objects. For a quarter of all detected sources, data at a frequency higher than 4~GHz were obtained for the first time, and for the rest, they were appended. The variability of radiation sources on the scales of the year, from days to months, was studied. The greatest change in the radio flux was found in the blazar B2~1324+22. The search for daily variability was carried out for 26 the brightest sources with an average value of $S_{4.7} \sim 250$ mJy. All sources are identified with objects from optical and infrared catalogs. Radio luminosity is calculated for 112 objects with a known redshift.

We present a study of the multiwavelength (MW) variability of the blazar AO 0235+164 based on the radio-to-$\gamma$-ray data covering a long time period from 1997 to 2023. The radio data are represented by the 1-22 GHz measurements from the RATAN-600 radio telescope, the 5 and 8 GHz data from the RT-32 telescopes, and the 37 GHz data from the RT-22 telescope. The optical measurements in the $R$-band were collected with the 1-m Zeiss-1000 and 0.5-m AS-500/2 telescopes. Additionally we used the archive data at 230~GHz from the SMA and the $\gamma$-ray data in the 0.1-100 GeV band from the Fermi-LAT point source 4FGL-DR2 catalogue. The variability properties during four epochs containing major flares and one epoch of relatively low activity were analysed. A significant correlation ($\geq\!2\sigma$) between the radio, optical, and $\gamma$-ray bands is found for all these periods with time delays from 0 to 1.7 yrs. The relation between time delay and frequency is described by a linear law with a negative slope of -10 day/GHz. The discovered properties of MW variability for the low activity period and for flaring states suggest that the mechanisms dominating the radio-$\gamma$-ray variations are not substantially different. The detected quasi-periodic oscillations of about 6 and 2 years are tentative, as the time span of the observations includes fewer than 4 full cycles for the radio and optical data and only about 3 cycles for the Fermi-LAT data. The physical parameters of the radio jet were obtained using the Hedgehog model applied to the average radio spectrum of AO 0235+164 in the range 0.1-300 GHz. We have been performing daily observations of bright microquasars at 1.2-20~GHz with the Northern sector of RATAN-600 radio telescope for more than ten years. During the 2019--2021 observations we recorded bright flares, which we call giant flares because fluxes reach record levels -- above 20~Jy -- during these events. In this paper we report the results of intraday variations of the Cygnus~X-3} microquasar in multi-azimuth observations made with the "North sector with a flat-sheet reflector" during giant flares of Cygnus X-3. These were the first such observations made simultaneously at several frequencies on a short time scale (10 minutes). Observational data consists of 31 measurement made within +/-2.7 hours of the culmination of the object. We are the first to discover the evolution of the spectrum of the flare emission of Cygnus~X-3 on a time scale comparable to the orbital period of the binary. The measurement data allowed us to determine the temporal and spectral parameters of radio emission, which are typical for synchrotron flare emission in relativistic jets. We study the radio variability of galaxies with and without sources of hydroxyl (OH) megamaser radiation based on the continuum radio measurements conducted in 2019-2022 with the radio telescope RATAN-600 at frequencies of 2.3, 4.7, 8.2, and 11.2 GHz. Presumably, radio continuum emission significantly affects the megamaser radiation brightness, therefore, such a characteristic as the variability of radio emission is important for determining the OHM galaxies parameters. With additional data from the literature, the parameters of radio variability on a time scale up to 30 years were estimated. The median values of the variability index for 48 OHM galaxies are in the range $V_{S}=0.08$-$0.17$, and for 30 galaxies without OH emission they are $V_{S}=0.08$-$0.28$. For some individual galaxies in both samples, flux density variations reach 30-50%. These sources either are commonly associated with AGNs or reveal active star formation. Generally, the variability of luminous infrared galaxies with and without OH megamaser emission is moderate and of the same order of magnitude on long time scales. From estimating the spectral energy distribution parameters in a broad frequency range (from MHz to THz), we determined the spectral index below 50 GHz and the color temperatures of dust components for megamaser and control sample galaxies. At a level of $\rho<0.05$, there are no statistically significant differences in the distribution of these parameters for the two samples, as well there are no statistically significant correlations between the dust color temperatures and the variability index or luminosity in the OH line., Comment: 15 pages, 10 Figures, and 6 Tables

Results of 111-MHz monitoring observations carried out on the Big Scanning Antenna of the Pushchino Radio Astronomy Observatory during September 1-28, 2015 are presented. Fifty-four pulsating sources were detected at declinations $-9^o < \delta < +42^o$. Forty-seven of these are known pulsars, five are new sources, and two are previously discovered transients. We present a study of the radio continuum properties of two luminous/ultraluminous infrared galaxy samples: the OH megamaser (OHM) sample (74 objects) and the control sample (128 objects) without detected maser emission. We carried out pilot observations for 140 objects with the radio telescope RATAN-600 at 1.2, 2.3, 4.7, 8.2, 11.2, and 22.3 GHz in 2019-2021. The OHM sample has two times more flat-spectrum sources (32 per cent) than the control sample. Steep radio spectra prevail in both samples. The median spectral index at 4.7 GHz $\alpha_{4.7}=-0.59$ for the OHM sample, and $\alpha_{4.7}=-0.71$ for the non-OHM galaxies. We confirm a tight correlation of the far-infrared (FIR) and radio luminosities for the OHM sample. We found correlations between isotropic OH line luminosity $L_{OH}$ and the spectral index $\alpha_{4.7}$ ($\rho$=0.26, p-val.=0.04) and between $L_{OH}$ and radio luminosity $P_{1.4}$ ($\rho$=0.35, p-val.=0.005). Reviewing subsamples of masers powered by active galactic nuclei (AGNs) and star formation revealed insignificant differences for their FIR and radio properties. Nonetheless, AGN-powered galaxies exhibit larger scatter in a range of parameters and their standard deviations. The similarities in the radio and FIR properties in the two samples are presumably caused by the presence of a significant amount of AGN sources in both samples (47 and 30 per cent in the OHM and control samples) and/or possibly by the presence of undetected OH emission sources in the control sample., Comment: 15 pages + 10 pages of online material, published 4 December 2021 in MNRAS

We present Low-Frequency Array (LOFAR) 143.5-MHz radio observations of flaring activity during 2019 May from the X-ray binary Cygnus X-3. Similar to radio observations of previous outbursts from Cygnus X-3, we find that this source was significantly variable at low frequencies, reaching a maximum flux density of about 5.8 Jy. We compare our LOFAR light curve with contemporaneous observations taken at 1.25 and 2.3 GHz with the RATAN-600 telescope, and at 15 GHz with the Arcminute Microkelvin Imager (AMI) Large Array. The initial 143.5-MHz flux density level, $\sim$2 Jy, is suggested to be the delayed and possibly blended emission from at least some of the flaring activity that had been detected at higher frequencies before our LOFAR observations had begun. There is also evidence of a delay of more than four days between a bright flare that initially peaked on May 6 at 2.3 and 15 GHz, and the corresponding peak ($\gtrsim$ 5.8 Jy) at 143.5 MHz. From the multi-frequency light curves, we estimate the minimum energy and magnetic field required to produce this flare to be roughly 10$^{44}$ erg and 40 mG, respectively, corresponding to a minimum mean power of $\sim$10$^{38}$ erg s$^{-1}$. Additionally, we show that the broadband radio spectrum evolved over the course of our observing campaign; in particular, the two-point spectral index between 143.5 MHz and 1.25 GHz transitioned from being optically thick to optically thin as the flare simultaneously brightened at 143.5 MHz and faded at GHz frequencies., Comment: 14 pages, 6 figures, 4 tables, accepted for publication in MNRAS

Published data from long-term observations of a strip of sky at declination +5 degrees carried out at 7.6 cm on the RATAN-600 radio telescope are used to estimate some statistical properties of radio sources. Limits on the sensitivity of the survey due to noise imposed by background sources, which dominates the radiometer sensitivity, are refined. The vast majority of noise due to background sources is associated with known radio sources (for example, from the NVSS with a detection threshold of 2.3 mJy) with normal steep spectra ({\alpha} = 0.7-0.8, S \propto {\nu}^{- \alpha}), which have also been detected in new deep surveys at decimeter wavelengths. When all such objects are removed from the observational data, this leaves another noise component that is observed to be roughly identical in independent groups of observations. We suggest this represents a new population of radio sources that are not present in known catalogs at the 0.6 mJy level at 7.6 cm. The studied redshift dependence of the number of steep-spectrum objects shows that the sensitivity of our survey is sufficient to detect powerful FRII radio sources at any redshift, right to the epoch of formation of the first galaxies. The inferred new population is most likely associated with low-luminosity objects at redshifts z < 1. In spite of the appearance of new means of carrying out direct studies of distant galaxies, searches for objects with very high redshifts among steep and ultra-steep spectrum radio sources remains an effective method for studying the early Universe., Comment: 13 pages, 10 figures

We use two independent methods to reduce the data of the surveys made with RATAN-600 radio telescope at 7.6 cm in 1988-1999 at the declination of the SS433 source. We also reprocess the data of the "Cold" survey (1980-1981). The resulting RCR (RATAN COLD REFINED) catalog contains the right ascensions and fluxes of objects identified with those of the NVSS catalog in the right-ascension interval 7h < R.A. < 17h. We obtain the spectra of the radio sources and determine their spectral indices at 3.94 and 0.5 GHz. The spectra are based on the data from all known catalogs available from the CATS, Vizier, and NED databases, and the flux estimates inferred from the maps of the VLSS and GB6 surveys. For 245 of the 550 objects of the RCR catalog the fluxes are known at two frequencies only: 3.94 GHz (RCR) and 1.4 GHz (NVSS). These are mostly sources with fluxes smaller than 30 mJy. About 65% of these sources have flat or inverse spectra (alpha > -0.5). We analyze the reliability of the results obtained for the entire list of objects and construct the histograms of the spectral indices and fluxes of the sources. Our main conclusion is that all 10-15 mJy objects found in the considered right-ascension interval were already included in the decimeter-wave catalogs., Comment: 26 pages, 18 figures

Soft gamma-ray repeaters (SGRs) are a rare type of gamma-ray transient sources that are ocasionally detected as bursts in the high-energy sky. They are thought to be produced by magnetars, young neutron stars with very strong magnetic fields of the order of 10^(14-15) G. Only three such objects are known in our Galaxy, and a fourth one is associated with the supernova remnant N49 in the Large Magellanic Cloud. In none of these cases has an optical counterpart to either the gamma-ray flares or the quiescent source been identified. Here we present multi-wavelength observations of a puzzling source, SWIFT J195509+261406, for which we detected more than 40 flaring episodes in the optical band over a time span of 3 days, plus a faint infrared flare 11 days later, after which it returned to quiescence. We propose that SWIFT J195509+261406 is a member of a subgroup of SGRs for which the long-term X-ray emission is transient in nature. Furthermore, it is the first SGR for which bursts have been detected in the optical and near-infrared bands and maybe the link between the "persistent" SGRs and the dim isolated neutron stars., Comment: Version submitted to Nature on 31 Jan 2008. This paper proposes a method for constructing an experimental power beam pattern (PB) of RATAN-600 based on the sample of NVSS sources observed in the process of a deep sky survey near local zenith. The data obtained from observations of radio sources at wave 7.6 cm in nine bands of the survey (the 2002 and 2003 sets) are used to construct vertical PB of the telescope at rather large offsets from the central horizontal section of the PB (+/-36'). The experimental PBs obtained using different methods are compared and the root-mean-square deviations of the experimental PB from the corresponding computed PB are determined. The stability of the power beam pattern in its central part (+/-6') during the RATAN-600 Zenith Field (RZF) survey (1998-2003) and the accuracies of the fluxes of the sources observed within the framework of this survey and included into the RZF catalog are estimated., Comment: 15 pages, 17 figures

We report about the multi-frequency (1-30 GHz) daily monitoring of the radio flux variability of the three microquasars: SS433, GRS1915+105 and Cyg X-3 during the period from September 2005 to May 2006. 1. We detected clear correlation of the flaring radio fluxes and X-rays 'spikes' at 2-12 keV emission detected in RXTE ASM from GRS1915+105 during eight relatively bright (200-600 mJy) radio flares in October 2005. The 1-22 GHz spectra of these flares in maximum were optically thick at frequencies lower 2.3 GHz and optically thin at the higher frequencies. During the radio flares the spectra of the X-ray spikes become softer than those of the quiescent phase. Thus these data indicated the transitions from very high/hard states to high/soft ones during which massive ejections are probably happened. These ejections are visible as the detected radio flares. 2. After of the quiescent radio emission we have detected a drop down of the fluxes (~20 mJy) from Cyg X-3. That is a sign of the following bright flare. Indeed such a 1Jy-flare was detected on 3 February 2006 after 18 days of the quenched radio emission. The daily spectra of the flare in the maximum was flat from 1 to 100 GHz, using the quasi-simultaneous observations at 109 GHz with RT45m telescope and millimeter array (NMA) of Nobeyama Radio Observatory in Japan. The several bright radio flaring events (1-10 Jy) followed during this state of very variable and intensive 1-12 keV X-ray emission (~0.5 Crab), which being monitored in RXTE ASM program., Comment: 4 pages, 7 figures. We discuss the results of the monitoring programs of the X-ray binaries with relativistic jets studies. We carried out a multi-frequency (1-30 GHz) daily monitoring of the radio flux variability of the microquasars SS433, GRS1915+105, V4641 Sgr and Cyg X-3 with RATAN-600 radio telescope during the recent sets in 2002-2006. We detected a lot of bright short-time flares from GRS 1915+105 which could be associated with active X-ray events. In 2004 we have detected two flares from V4641 Sgr, which followed after recurrent X-ray activity of the transient. From September 2005 to May 2006 and then in July we have daily measured flux densities from Cyg X-3. In January 2006 we detected a drop down of its quiescent fluxes (from 100 to ~20 mJy), then the 1Jy-flare was detected on 2 February 2006 after 18 days of quenched radio emission. The daily spectra of the flare in the maximum were flat from 2 to 110 GHz, using the quasi-simultaneous observations at 110 GHz with the RT45m telescope and the NMA millimeter array of the Nobeyama Radio Observatory in Japan. Several bright radio flaring events (1-15 Jy) followed during the continuing state of very variable and intensive 1-12 keV X-ray emission (~0.5 Crab), which was monitored in the RXTE ASM program. We discuss the various spectral and temporal characteristics of the light curves from the microquasars. We present new RATAN-600 data on the synchrotron Galaxy radiation at the PLANCK Mission and WMAP frequencies at high Galactic latitudes upto l=3000. The difference between the standard synchrotron template (l<50) of the WMAP group and RATAN-600 data was detected with the strong synchrotron ``longitude quadrant asymmetry''. It may change the WMAP estimates of z_{reheating} from low l polarization data. The principal results of daily observations with the RATAN-600 radio telescope of X-ray binary with relativistic jets microquasar SS433 in 1986--2003 are presented. We have measured the flux densities at 0.96, 2.3, 3.9, 7.7, 11.2 and 21.7 GHz in different sets, duration from a week to some months. In general there are 940 observations of SS433 and more than 4500 flux density measurements in the period. Observations show that radio spectra are well fitting by a power law. The mean spectral index remained the same, $-0.60\pm0.14$ during almost 20 years at least, and mean accuracy of the index determination was better than 0.1 in our multi-frequency observations, i.e. it was higher than in the intensive two-frequency monitoring of SS433 with the three-element GBI interferometer. We present results of long-term daily monitoring of a sample of Galactic radio-emitting X-ray binaries showing relativistic jets (RJXRB): SS433, Cyg X-3, and GRS 1915+105, with the RATAN-600 radio telescope in the 0.6-22 GHz range. We carried out the modeling calculations to understand the temporal (1--100 days) and spectral (1-22 GHz) dependence. We tested the finite jet segment models and we found that the geometry of the conical hollow jets is responsible for either a power law or an exponential decay of the flares. SS433 was monitored for 100 days in 1997 and 120 days in 1999. From the quiescent radio light curves, we obtained clear evidence of a 6.04-day 10-15% modulation.
