Single crystals of XPt$_{5}$P (X = Al, Ga, and In) were grown from a Pt-P solution at high temperatures, and ambient-pressure measurements of temperature-dependent magnetization, resistivity, and X-ray diffraction were made. Also, the ambient-pressure Hall resistivity and temperature-dependent resistance under pressure were measured on GaPt$_{5}$P. All three compounds have tetragonal $P4/mmm$ crystal structure at room-temperature with metallic transport and weak diamagnetism over the $2-300$~K temperature range. Surprisingly, at ambient pressure, both the transport and magnetization measurements on GaPt$_{5}$P show a step-like feature in $70-90$~K region suggesting a possible structural phase transition, and no such features were observed in (Al/In)Pt$_{5}$P. Both the hysteretic nature and sharpness of the feature suggest the first-order transition, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction measurements provided further details of the structural transition with a crystal symmetry likely different than $P4/mmm$ below transition. The transition is characterized by anisotropic changes in the lattice parameters, a volume collapse, and satellite peaks at two distinct wave-vectors. Density functional theory calculations present phonon softening as a possible driving mechanism. Additionally, the structural transition temperature increases rapidly with increasing pressure, reaching room temperature by $\sim 2.2$~GPa, highlighting the high degree of pressure sensitivity and fragile nature of GaPt$_{5}$P room-temperature structure. Although the volume collapse and extreme pressure sensitivity suggest chemical pressure should drive a similar structural change in AlPt$_{5}$P, with smaller unit cell dimensions and volume, its structure is found to be $P4/mmm$ as well. Overall, GaPt$_{5}$P stands out as a sole member of the 1-5-1 family of compounds with a temperature-driven structural change., Comment: 18 pages, 19 figures

LaCrGe$_3$ has attracted attention as a potential candidate for studies of quantum phase transitions in a ferromagnetic material. The application of pressure avoids a quantum critical point by developing a new magnetic phase. It was suggested that the disorder may provide an alternative route to a quantum critical point. We used low-temperature 2.5 MeV electron irradiation to induce relatively small amounts of point-like disorder in single crystals of LaCrGe$_3$. Irradiation leads to an increase of the resistivity at all temperatures with some deviation from the Matthiessen rule. Hall effect measurements show that electron irradiation does not cause any detectable change in the carrier density. Unexpectedly, the Curie temperature, $T_{\text{FM}}$, \emph{increases} with the increase of disorder from approximately 90 K in pristine samples up to nearly 100 K in the heavily irradiated sample, with a tendency towards saturation at higher doses. Although the mechanism of this effect is not entirely clear, we conclude that it cannot be caused by effective ``doping" or ``pressure" due to electron irradiation. We suggest that disorder-induced broadening of a sharp peak in the density of states, $D(E)$, situated at $E_p=E_F-0.25$ eV below the Fermi energy, $E_F$, causes an increase in $D(E_F)$, leading to an enhancement of $T_\text{FM}$ in this itinerant ferromagnet.

CePd3S4 exhibits interplay between ferromagnetism (FM), quadrupolar order, and the Kondo effect at low temperatures with a FM transition temperature that is much higher than the value expected from the de Gennes scaling of the heavier RPd3S4 compounds. In this work, we investigated the electrical transport and magnetic properties of CePd3S4 under pressure up through 12 GPa so as to better understand the interplay between electronic and magnetic phases in this material. Our findings show that the low pressure FM state is suddenly replaced by a new magnetically ordered phase that is most likely antiferromagnetic that spans from ~ 7 GPa to ~ 11 GPa. Whereas this could be described as an example of avoided quantum criticality, given that clear changes in resistance and Hall data are detected near 6.3 GPa for all temperatures below 300 K, it is also possible that the change in ground state is a response to a pressure induced change in structure. The lack of any discernible change in the pressure dependence of the room temperature unit cell parameter/volume across this whole pressure range suggests that this change in structure is either more subtle than could be detected by our measurements (i.e. development of weak, new wave vector) or the transition is electronic (such as a Lifshitz transition)., Comment: 16 pages, 16 figures, 74 references

Recently, superconductivity at high temperatures has been observed in bulk La$_3$Ni$_2$O$_{7-{\delta}}$ under high pressure. However, the attainment of high-purity La$_3$Ni$_2$O$_{7-{\delta}}$ single crystals, exhibiting controlled and homogeneous stoichiometry through the post-annealing process in an oxygen-rich floating zone furnace, remains a formidable challenge. Here, we report the crystal structure and physical properties of single crystals of Sr-doped La$_3$Ni$_2$O$_7$ synthesized at high pressure (20 GPa) and high temperature (1400 {\deg}C). Through single crystal X-ray diffraction, we showed that high-pressure-synthesized paramagnetic Sr-doped La$_3$Ni$_2$O$_7$ crystallizes in an orthorhombic structure with Ni-O-Ni bond angles of 173.4(2){\deg}out-of-plane and 175.0(2){\deg}and 176.7(2){\deg}in plane. The substitution of Sr alters in band filling and the ratio of Ni$^{2+}$/Ni$^{3+}$ in Sr-doped La$_3$Ni$_2$O$_7$, aligning them with those of "La$_3$Ni$_2$O$_{7.05}$", thereby leading to significant modifications in properties under high pressure relative to the unsubstituted parent phase. At ambient pressure, Sr-doped La$_3$Ni$_2$O$_7$ exhibits insulating properties, and the conductivity increases as pressure goes up to 10 GPa. However, upon further increasing pressure beyond 10.7 GPa, Sr-doped La$_3$Ni$_2$O$_7$ transits back from a metal-like behavior to an insulator. The insulator-metal-insulator trend under high pressure dramatically differs from the behavior of the parent compound La$_3$Ni$_2$O$_{7-{\delta}}$, despite their similar behavior in the low-pressure regime. Hirsch and Marsiglio, in their recent publication (J. Supercond. Nov. Mag. 35, 3141-3145 (2022)), assert that experimental data on the trapping of magnetic flux by hydrogen-rich compounds clearly demonstrate the absence of superconductivity in hydrides at high pressures. We argue that this assertion is incorrect, as it relies on the wrong model coupled with selective manipulations (hide/delete) of calculated datasets and ignores the reference measurements after the release of pressure. A critical examination of the authors' claim of having performed fitting of experimental data to the model reveals that, in fact, the authors conducted simulations where all free parameters were fixed. Importantly, an application of the Hirsch-Marsiglio model to MgB$_2$ leads to the conclusion that it is not a superconductor., Comment: 4 pages, 2 figures, Supplementary Materials

We present nuclear magnetic resonance data in BaFe$_2$As$_2$ in the presence of pulsed strain fields that are interleaved in time with the radiofrequency excitation pulses. In this approach, the precessing nuclear magnetization acquires a phase shift that is proportional to the strain and pulse time. The sensitivity in this approach is limited by the homogeneous decoherence time, $T_2$, rather than the inhomogeneous linewidth. We measure the nematic susceptibility as a function of temperature, and demonstrate three orders of magnitude improvement in sensitivity. This approach will enable studies of the strain response in a broad range of materials that previously were inaccessible due to inhomogeneous broadening., Comment: 8 pages, 6 figures

We report on elastic and inelastic neutron scattering from single-grain isotopically-enriched samples to elucidate the local magnetic correlations between Tb$^{3+}$ moments in quasicrystalline i-Tb-Cd. The inelastic neutron scattering measurements of the CEF excitations demonstrated that the Tb$^{3+}$ moments are directed primarily along the local five-fold axes of the Tsai-type cluster as was found for the TbCd6 approximant phase. Based on the inelastic measurements, we consider of a simple Ising-type model for the moment configurations on a single Tb$^{3+}$ icosahedron and enumerate the lowest energy moment configurations. We then calculate the diffuse scattering from these configurations and compare with the experimental magnetic diffuse scattering measurements to identify the most likely single cluster moment configurations and find reasonable agreement between the broad features observed in our scattering simulations. We further consider the role of higher-order (longer range) intercluster correlations for the magnetic scattering.

We present a comprehensive study of the mixed valent compound, EuPd3S4, by electrical transport, X-ray diffraction, time-domain 151Eu synchrotron M\"ossbauer spectroscopy, and X-ray absorption spectroscopy measurements under high pressure. The electrical transport measurements show that the antiferromagnetic ordering temperature, TN, increases rapidly from 2.8 K at ambient pressure to 23.5 K at ~19 GPa and plateaus between ~19 and ~29 GPa after which no anomaly associated with TN is detected. A pressure-induced first order structural transition from cubic to tetragonal is observed, with a rather broad coexistence region (~20 GPa to ~32 GPa) that corresponds to the TN plateau. M\"ossbauer spectroscopy measurements show a clear valence transition from approximately 50:50 Eu2+:Eu3+ to fully Eu3+ at ~28 GPa, consistent with the vanishing of the magnetic order at the same pressure. X-ray absorption data show a transition to a fully trivalent state at a similar pressure. Our results show that pressure first greatly enhances TN, most likely via enhanced hybridization between the Eu 4f states and the conduction band, and then, second, causes a structural phase transition that coincides with the conversion of the europium to a fully trivalent state., Comment: 28 pages, 6 figures in main manuscript, 10 figures in SI

Predicting magnetic ordering in kagome compounds offers the possibility of harnessing topological or flat-band physical properties through tuning of the magnetism. Here, we examine the magnetic interactions and phases of ErMn$_6$Sn$_6$ which belongs to a family of $R$Mn$_6$Sn$_6$, $R=$ Sc, Y, Gd--Lu, compounds with magnetic kagome Mn layers, triangular $R$ layers, and signatures of topological properties. Using results from single-crystal neutron diffraction and mean-field analysis, we find that ErMn$_6$Sn$_6$ sits close to the critical boundary separating the spiral-magnetic and ferrimagnetic ordered states typical for nonmagnetic versus magnetic $R$ layers, respectively. Finding interlayer magnetic interactions and easy-plane Mn magnetic anisotropy consistent with other members of the family, we predict the existence of a number of temperature and field dependent collinear, noncollinear, and noncoplanar magnetic phases. We show that thermal fluctuations of the Er magnetic moment, which act to weaken the Mn-Er interlayer magnetic interaction and quench the Er magnetic anisotropy, dictate magnetic phase stability. Our results provide a starting point and outline a multitude of possibilities for studying the behavior of Dirac fermions in $R$Mn$_6$Sn$_6$ compounds with control of the Mn spin orientation and real-space spin chirality., Comment: Supplementary Information included

We present the magnetic orders and excitations of the distorted kagome intermetallic magnet TmAgGe. Using neutron single crystal diffraction we identify the propagation vectors $\bf{k}$ = (1/2 0 0) and $\bf{k}$ = (0 0 0) and determine the magnetic structures of the zero-field and magnetic field-induced phases for $H$ along the $a$ and [-1 1 0] crystal directions. We determine the experimental magnetic field-temperature ($H$, $T$)-phase diagram and reproduce it by Monte-Carlo simulations of an effective spin exchange Hamiltonian for one distorted kagome layer. Our model includes a strong axial single-ion anisotropy and significantly smaller exchange couplings which span up to the third-nearest neighbours within the layer. Single crystal inelastic neutron scattering (INS) measurements reveal an almost flat, only weakly dispersive mode around 7 meV that we use alongside bulk magnetization data to deduce the crystal-electric field (CEF) scheme for the Tm$^{3+}$ ions. Random phase approximation (RPA) calculations based on the determined CEF wave functions of the two lowest quasi-doublets enable an estimation of the interlayer coupling that is compatible with the experimental INS spectra. No evidence for low-energy spin waves associated to the magnetic order was found, which is consistent with the strongly Ising nature of the ground state., Comment: 16 pages, 12 figures, accepted for publication in Phys. 139La nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) measurements have been performed to investigate the magnetic properties of the itinerant magnet La2Ni7 which shows a series of antiferromagnetic (AFM) phase transitions at $T_{N1}$=61 K, $T_{N2}$=56 K, and $T_{N3}$=42 K under zero magnetic field. Two distinct La NMR signals were observed due to the two crystallographically inequivalent La sites in La2Ni7 (La1 and La2 in the La2Ni4 and the LaNi5 sub-units of the La2Ni7 unit cell, respectively). From the 139La NQR spectrum in the AFM state below $T_{N3}$, the AFM state was revealed to be a commensurate state where Ni ordered moments align along the crystalline c axis. Owing to the two different La sites, we were able to estimate the average values of the Ni ordered moments ($\sim$0.09-0.10 $\mu_{B}$/Ni and $\sim$0.17$\mu_{B}$/Ni around La1 and La2, respectively) from 139La NMR spectrum measurements in the AFM state below $T_{N3}$, suggesting a non-uniform distribution of the Ni-ordered moments in the AFM state. In contrast, a more uniform distribution of the Ni-ordered moments in the saturated paramagnetic state induced by the application of high magnetic fields is observed. The temperature dependence of the sublattice magnetization measured by the internal field at the La2 site in the AFM state was reproduced by a local moment model better than the self-consistent renormalization (SCR) theory for weak itinerant antiferromagnets. Given the small Ni-ordered moments in the magnetically ordered state, our results suggest that La2Ni7 has characteristics of both itinerant and localized natures in its magnetism. With this in mind, it is noteworthy that the temperature dependence of nuclear spin-relaxation rates in the paramagnetic state above $T_{N1}$ measured at zero magnetic field can be explained qualitatively by both the SCR theory and the local-moment model., Comment: Accepted for publication in Phys. The sulfur-substituted FeSe, FeSe$_{1-x}$S$_{x} $, is one of the unique systems that provides an independent tunability of nematicity, antiferromagnetism and superconductivity under pressure ($p$). Recently Rana et al. [Phys. Rev. B 101, 180503(R) (2020)] reported, from $^{77}$Se nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) measurements on FeSe$_{0.91}$S$_{0.09}$ under pressure, that there exists a clear role of nematicity on the relationship between antiferromagnetic (AFM) spin fluctuations and superconducting transition temperature ($T_{\rm c}$) where the AFM spin fluctuations are more effective in enhancing $T_{\rm c}$ in the absence of nematicity than with nematicity. Motivated by the work, we carried out $^{77}$Se NMR measurements on FeSe$_{1-x}$S$_{x}$ with $x$= 0.15 and 0.29 under pressure up to 2.10 GPa to investigate the relationship in a wide range of $x$ in the FeSe$_{1-x}$S$_x$ system. Based on the new results together with the previously reported data for $x$=0 [P. Wiecki et al., Phys. Rev. B 96, 180502(R) (2017)] and 0.09 [K. Rana et al. Phys. Rev. B 101, 180503(R) (2020)], we established a $p$ - $x$ - temperature ($T$) phase diagram exhibiting the evolution of AFM spin fluctuations. From the systematic analysis of the NMR data, we found that the superconducting (SC) state in nematic state arises from a non Fermi liquid state with strong stripe-type AFM spin fluctuations while the SC state without nematicity comes from a Fermi liquid state with mild stripe-type AFM spin fluctuations. Furthermore, we show that the previously reported impact of nematicity on the relationship between AFM fluctuations and superconductivity holds throughout the wide range of $x$ from $x$ = 0 to 0.29 in FeSe$_{1-x}$S$_{x}$ under pressure. We discuss the origin of the role of nematicity in terms of the different numbers of hotspots on Fermi surfaces with and without nematicity., Comment: 11 pages, 9 figures, accepted for publication in Phys. LaCrGe$_3$ is an itinerant, metallic ferromagnet with a Curie temperature ($T_C$) of $\sim$ 86 K. Whereas LaCrGe$_3$ has been studied extensively as a function of pressure as an example of avoided ferromagnetic quantum criticality, questions about its ambient pressure ordered state remain; specifically, whether there is a change in the nature of the ferromagnetically ordered state below $T_C$ $\sim$ 86 K. We present anisotropic $M$($H$) isotherms, coupled with anisotropic AC susceptibility data, and demonstrate that LaCrGe$_3$ has a remarkable, low temperature coercivity associated with exceptionally sharp, complete magnetization reversals to and from fully polarized states. This coercivity is temperature dependent, it drops to zero in the 40 - 55 K region and reappears in the 70 - 85 K regions. At low temperatures LaCrGe$_3$ has magnetization loops and behavior that has previously associated with micromagnetic/nanocrystalline materials, not bulk, macroscopic samples., Comment: 7+2 pages and 7+5 figures

Members of the CaK(Fe$_{1-x}$Cr$_{x}$)$_{4}$As$_{4}$ series have been synthesized by high-temperature solution growth in single crystalline form and characterized by X-ray diffraction, elemental analysis, magnetic and transport measurements. The effects of Cr substitution on the superconducting and magnetic ground states of CaKFe$_4$As$_4$ ($T_c$ = 35 K) have been studied. These measurements show that the superconducting transition temperature decreases monotonically and is finally suppressed below 1.8 K as $x$ is increased from 0 to 0.038. The magnetic transition temperature increases in a roughly linear manner as Cr substitution increases. A temperature-composition (\textit{T}-\textit{x}) phase diagram is constructed, revealing a half-dome of superconductivity with the magnetic transition temperature, $T^*$, appearing near 22~K for $x$ $\sim$ 0.017 and rising slowly up to 60~K for $x$ $\sim$ 0.077. The $T$-$x$ phase diagrams for CaK(Fe$_{1-x}$$T$$_{x}$)$_4$As$_4$ for $T$ = Cr and Mn are essentially the same despite the nominally different band filling; this is in marked contrast to $T$ = Co and Ni series for which the $T$-$x$ diagrams scale by a factor of two, consistent with the different changes in band filling Co and Ni would produce when replacing Fe. Superconductivity of CaK(Fe$_{1-x}$Cr$_{x}$)$_{4}$As$_{4}$ is also studied as a function of magnetic field. A clear change in $H^\prime_{c2}$($T$)/$T_c$, where $H^\prime_{c2}$($T$) is d$H_{c2}$($T$)/d$T$, at $x$ $\sim$ 0.012 is observed and probably is related to change of the Fermi surface due to magnetic order. Coherence length and the London penetration depths are also calculated based on $H_{c1}$ and $H_{c2}$ data. Coherence lengths as the function of $x$ also shows changes near $x$ = 0.012, again consistent with Fermi surfaces changes associated with the magnetic ordering seen for higher $x$-values., Comment: This work uses the same synthesis and measurements methods to systematicly analysis Cr1144 as our previous work arXiv:2204.10925 (existence of the text overlap) but gives the clear proof of the bi-modal response to electron and hole doping in Fe-based superconductors

The magnetic order for several compositions of CaK(Fe$_{1-x}$Mn$_x$)$_4$As$_4$ has been studied by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), M\"ossbauer spectroscopy, and neutron diffraction. Our observations for the Mn-doped 1144 compound are consistent with the hedgehog spin vortex crystal (hSVC) order which has previously been found for Ni-doped $\text{Ca}\text{K}\text{Fe}_4\text{As}_4$. The hSVC state is characterized by the stripe-type propagation vectors $(\pi\,0)$ and $(0\,\pi)$ just as in the doped 122 compounds. The hSVC state preserves tetragonal symmetry at the Fe site, and only this SVC motif with simple AFM stacking along $\textbf{c}$ is consistent with all our observations using NMR, M\"ossbauer spectroscopy, and neutron diffraction. We find that the hSVC state in the Mn-doped 1144 compound coexists with superconductivity (SC), and by combining the neutron scattering and M\"ossbauer spectroscopy data we can infer a quantum phase transition, hidden under the superconducting dome, associated with the suppression of the AFM transition temperature ($T_\text{N}$) to zero for $x\approx0.01$. In addition, unlike several 122 compounds and Ni-doped 1144, the ordered magnetic moment is not observed to decrease at temperatures below the superconducting transition temperature ($T_\text{c}$)., Comment: 10 pages and 10 figures

Members of the CaK(Fe$_{1-x}$Mn$_{x}$)$_{4}$As$_{4}$ series have been synthesized in single crystalline form and characterized by elemental analysis, thermodynamic and transport measurements. These measurements show that the superconducting transition temperature decreases monotonically and is finally suppressed below 1.8 K. For $x$-values greater than 0.016, signatures of a magnetic transition can be detected in both thermodynamic and transport measurements in which kink-like features allow for the determination of the transition temperature, $T^*$, that increases as Mn substitution increases. A temperature-composition ($T$-$x$) phase diagram is constructed, revealing a half-dome of superconductivity with the magnetic transition temperature, $T^*$, appearing near 26 K for $x$ $\sim$ 0.017 and rising slowly up to 33 K for $x$ $\sim$ 0.036. Specific heat data are used to track the jump in specific heat at $T_c$; The CaK(Fe$_{1-x}$Mn$_x$)$_4$As$_4$ data does not follow the scaling of $\Delta$$C_{p}$ with $T_{c}^3$ as many of the other Fe-based superconducting systems do. Elastoresistivity coefficients, $2m_{66}$ and $m_{11}-m_{12}$, as a function of temperature are also measured. $2m_{66}$ and $m_{11}-m_{12}$ are qualitatively similar to CaK(Fe$_{1-x}$Ni$_x$)$_4$As$_4$. This may indicate that the magnetic order in Mn substituted system may be still the same as CaK(Fe$_{1-x}$Ni$_x$)$_4$As$_4$. A clear change in $H^\prime_{c2}$($T$)/$T_c$, where $H^\prime_{c2}$($T$) is d$H_{c2}$($T$)/d$T$, at $x$ $\sim$ 0.015 is observed and probably is related to change of the Fermi surface due to magnetic order. Coherence lengths and the London penetration depths are also calculated based on $H_{c1}$ and $H_{c2}$ data. A simple analysis is presented of the particular experiment used to prove the bulk nature of very-high-Tc superconductivity in H3S compound under ultra-high pressure. In the experiment, an internal magnetic field was sensed by the synchrotron M\"ossbauer spectroscopy in tin placed inside the H2S sample. The experiment showed peculiar anisotropy with respect to the direction of the applied field at first sight. By considering actual experimental geometries and parameters of the experiment, we show that this particular observation is consistent with the expectations for a regular type-II superconductor with Meissner expulsion and pinning.

EuMnSb$_2$ is a candidate topological material which can be tuned towards a Weyl semimetal, but there are differing reports for its antiferromagnetic (AFM) phases. The coupling of bands dominated by pure Sb layers hosting topological fermions to Mn and Eu magnetic states provides a potential path to tune the topological properties. We present a detailed analysis of the magnetic structure on three AFM phases based on single-crystal neutron diffraction, magnetization, and heat capacity data as well as polycrystalline $^{151}$Eu M\"ossbauer data. The Mn magnetic sublattice orders into a C-type AFM structure below $323(1)$~K with the ordered Mn magnetic moment $\mu_{\text{Mn}}$ lying perpendicular to the layers. AFM ordering of the Eu sublattice occurs below $23(1)$~K with the ordered Eu magnetic moment $\mu_{\text{Eu}}$ canted away from the layer normal and $\mu_{\text{Mn}}$ retaining its higher-temperature order. $\mu_{\text{Eu}}$ is ferromagnetically aligned within each Eu layer but exhibits a complicated AFM layer stacking. Both of these higher-temperature phases are described by magnetic space group (MSG) $Pn^{\prime}m^{\prime}a^{\prime}$ with the chemical and magnetic unit cells having the same dimensions. Cooling below $=9(1)$~K reveals a third AFM phase where $\mu_{\text{Mn}}$ remains unchanged but $\mu_{\text{Eu}}$ develops an additional in-plane canting. This phase has MSG $P11\frac{2_1}{a^{\prime}}$. We additionally find evidence of short-range magnetic correlations associated with the Eu between $12~\text{K} \lesssim T \lesssim 30~\text{K}$. Using the determined magnetic structures, we postulate the signs of nearest-neighbor intralayer and interlayer exchange constants and the magnetic anisotropy within a general Heisenberg-model. We then discuss implications of the various AFM states in EuMnSb$_2$ and its topological properties., Comment: Published to Physical Review B

Here we report the magnetic and electronic properties of recently discovered Ce$_{3}$Cd$_{2}$As$_{6}$. At ambient pressure, Ce$_{3}$Cd$_{2}$As$_{6}$ presents a semiconducting behavior with an activation gap of 74(1)~meV. At 136~K, a sudden increase of the electrical resistivity and a peak in specific heat are consistent with a charge density wave transition. At low temperatures, antiferromagnetic order of the Ce$^{3+}$ ions occurs below $T_{\rm N} = 4.0$~K with a magnetic hard axis along the $c$-axis and a $\Gamma_{6} = |\pm1/2\rangle$ doublet ground state. The application of external pressure strongly suppresses the charge density wave order, which is completely suppressed above 0.8(1)~GPa, and induces a metallic ground state. No evidence for superconductivity is detected above 2~K. Conversely, the antiferromagnetic state is favored by pressure, reaching a transition temperature of 5.3~K at 3.8(1)~GPa. Notably, the resistivity anomaly characterizing the antiferromagnetic order changes with increasing pressure, indicating that two different magnetic phases might be present in Ce$_{3}$Cd$_{2}$As$_{6}$ under pressure. This change in ordering appears to be associated to the crossing of the $T_{\rm CDW}$ and $T_{\rm N}$ lines.

Using small-angle neutron scattering we have studied the vortex lattice in superconducting MgB$_2$ with the magnetic field applied along the $c$-axis, doped with either manganese or carbon to achieve a similar suppression of the critical temperature. For Mn-doping, the vortex lattice phase diagram remains qualitatively similar to that of pure MgB$_2$, undergoing a field-and temperature-driven $30^{\circ}$ rotation transition, indicating only a modest effect on the vortex-vortex interaction. In contrast, the vortex lattice rotation transition is completely suppressed in the C-doped case, likely due to a change in the electronic structure which affects the two-band/two-gap nature of superconductivity in MgB2. The vortex lattice longitudinal correlation length shows the opposite behavior, remaining roughly unchanged between pure and C-doped MgB$_2$ while it is significantly reduced in the Mn-doped case. However, the extensive vortex lattice metastability and related activated behavior, observed in conjunction with the vortex lattice transition in pure MgB$_2$, is also seen in the Mn doped sample. We studied the temperature dependence of resistivity in a single crystalline Nd2Fe14B using a newly developed high temperature probe. This novel probe uses mechanical pin connectors instead of conducting glue/paste. From warming and cooling curves, the Curie temperature was consistently measured around Tc = 580 K. In addition, anomalous discrete jumps were found only in cooling curves between 400 and 500 K, but not shown in warming curves. More interestingly, when the jumps occurred during cooling, the resistivity was increased. This phenomenon can be understood in terms of temperature dependent striction effect induced by the re-orientation of magnetic domains well below the Curie temperature.

Electrons navigate more easily in a background of ordered magnetic moments than around randomly oriented ones. This fundamental quantum mechanical principle is due to their Bloch wave nature and also underlies ballistic electronic motion in a perfect crystal. As a result, a paramagnetic metal that develops ferromagnetic order often experiences a sharp drop in the resistivity. Despite the universality of this phenomenon, a direct observation of the impact of ferromagnetic order on the electronic quasiparticles in a magnetic metal is still lacking. Here we demonstrate that quasiparticles experience a significant enhancement of their lifetime in the ferromagnetic state of the low-density magnetic semimetal EuCd2As2, but this occurs only in selected bands and specific energy ranges. This is a direct consequence of the magnetically induced band splitting and the multi-orbital nature of the material. Our detailed study allows to disentangle different electronic scattering mechanisms due to non-magnetic disorder and magnon exchange. Such high momentum and energy dependence quasiparticle lifetime enhancement can lead to spin selective transport and potential spintronic applications., Comment: 15 pages, 4 figures + supplement

$^{139}$La nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) measurements under pressure ($p = 0-2.64$ GPa) have been carried out to investigate the static and dynamic magnetic properties of the itinerant ferromagnet LaCrGe$_3$. $^{139}$La-NMR spectra for all measured pressures in the ferromagnetically ordered state show a large shift due to the internal field induction $|$$B_{\rm int}$$|$ $\sim$ 4 T at the La site produced by Cr ordered moments. The change in $B_{\rm int}$ by less than 5\% with $p$ up to 2.64~GPa indicates that the Cr 3$d$ moments are robust under pressure. The temperature dependence of NMR shift and $B_{\rm int}$ suggest that the ferromagnetic order develops below $\sim$ 50~K under higher pressures in a magnetic field of $\sim$ 7.2 T. Based on the analysis of NMR data using the self-consistent-renormalization (SCR) theory, the spin fluctuations in the paramagnetic state well above $T_{\rm C}$ are revealed to be three dimensional ferromagnetic throughout the measured $p$ region., Comment: 9 pages, 6 figures, accepted for publication in Phys. A significant number of Kondo-lattice ferromagnets order perpendicular to the easy magnetization axis dictated by the crystalline electric field. The nature of this phenomenon has attracted considerable attention, but remains poorly understood. In the present paper we use inelastic neutron scattering supported by magnetization and specific heat measurements to study the spin dynamics in the hard-axis ferromagnet CeAgSb2. In the zero field state we observed two sharp magnon modes, which are associated with Ce ordering and extended up to $\approx 3 meV with a considerable spin gap of 0.6 meV. Application of a magnetic field perpendicular to the moment direction reduces the spectral intensity and suppresses the gap and significantly enhances the low-temperature specific heat at a critical field of Bc ~ 2.8 T via a mean-field-like transition. Above the transition, in the field polarized state, the gap eventually reopens due to the Zeeman effect. We modeled the observed dispersion using linear spin-wave theory (LSWT) taking into account the ground state Gamma 6 doublet and exchange anisotropy. Our model correctly captures the essential features of the spin dynamics including magnetic dispersion, distribution of the spectral intensity as well as the field-induced behavior, although several minor features remain obscure. The observed spectra do not show significant broadening due to the finite lifetime of the quasiparticles. Along with a moderate electronic specific heat coefficient gamma = 46 mJ/mol K2 this indicates that the Kondo coupling is relatively weak and the Ce moments are well localized. Altogether, our results provide profound insight into the spin dynamics of the hard-axis ferromagnet CeAgSb2 and can be used as solid ground for studying magnetic interactions in isostructural compounds including CeAuSb2, which exhibits nematicity and unusual mesoscale magnetic textures., Comment: accepted PRB

In the nematic state of iron-based superconductors, twin formation often obscures the intrinsic, anisotropic, in-plane physical properties.Relatively high in-plane external magnetic fields $H_{\rm ext}$ greater than the typical lab-scale magnetic fields 10--15 T are usually required to completely detwin a sample. However, recently a very small in-plane $H_{\rm ext} \sim$ 0.1 T was found to be sufficient for detwinning the nematic domains in EuFe$_2$As$_2$. To explain this behavior, a microscopic theory based on biquadratic magnetic interactions between the Eu and Fe spins has been proposed. Here, using $^{153}$Eu nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) measurements below the Eu$^{2+}$ ordering temperature, we show experimental evidence of the detwinning under small in-plane $H_{\rm ext}$. Our NMR study also reveals the evolution of the angles between the Eu and Fe spins during the detwinning process, which provides the first experimental evidence for the existence of biquadratic coupling in the system., Comment: 5 pages, 3 figures, accepted for publication in Phys. Knowledge of magnetic symmetry is vital for exploiting nontrivial surface states of magnetic topological materials. EuIn$_{2}$As$_{2}$ is an excellent example, as it is predicted to have collinear antiferromagnetic order where the magnetic moment direction determines either a topological-crystalline-insulator phase supporting axion electrodynamics or a higher-order-topological-insulator phase with chiral hinge states. Here, we use neutron diffraction, symmetry analysis, and density functional theory results to demonstrate that EuIn$_{2}$As$_{2}$ actually exhibits low-symmetry helical antiferromagnetic order which makes it a stoichiometric magnetic topological-crystalline axion insulator protected by the combination of a 180$^{\circ}$ rotation and time-reversal symmetries: $C_{2}\times\mathcal{T}=2^{\prime}$. Surfaces protected by $2^{\prime}$ are expected to have an exotic gapless Dirac cone which is unpinned to specific crystal momenta. All other surfaces have gapped Dirac cones and exhibit half-integer quantum anomalous Hall conductivity. We predict that the direction of a modest applied magnetic field of $H\approx1$ to $2$ T can tune between gapless and gapped surface states., Comment: 49 pages, 26 figures

The sulfur substituted FeSe system, FeSe$_{1-x}$S$_{x}$, provides a versatile platform for studying the relationship between nematicity, antiferromagnetism, and superconductivity. Here, by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and resistivity measurements up to 4.73 GPa on FeSe$_{0.91}$S$_{0.09}$, we established the pressure($p$)-temperature($T$) phase diagram in which the nematic state is suppressed with pressure showing a nematic quantum phase transition (QPT) around $p$ = 0.5 GPa, two SC regions, separated by the QPT, appear and antiferromagnetic (AFM) phase emerges above $\sim$3.3 GPa. From the NMR results up to 2.1 GPa, AFM fluctuations are revealed to be characterized by the stripe-type wavevector which remains the same for the two SC regions. Furthermore, the electronic state is found to change in character from non-Fermi liquid to Fermi liquid around the nematic QPT and persists up to $\sim$ 2.1 GPa. In addition, although the AFM fluctuations correlate with $T_{\rm c}$ in both SC states, demonstrating the importance of the AFM fluctuations for the appearance of SC in the system, we found that, when nematic order is absent, $T_{\rm c}$ is strongly correlated with the AFM fluctuations, whereas $T_{\rm c}$ weakly depends on the AFM fluctuations when nematic order is present. Our findings on FeSe$_{0.91}$S$_{0.09}$ were shown to be applied to the whole FeSe$_{1-x}$S$_{x}$ system and also provide a new insight into the relationship between AFM fluctuations and SC in Fe-based superconductors., Comment: 10 pages, 10 figures including 4 pages and 6 figures of Supplementary Material, accepted for publication in Phys. Low temperature ($\sim$ 20~K) electron irradiation with 2.5 MeV relativistic electrons was used to study the effect of controlled non-magnetic disorder on the normal and superconducting properties of the type-II Dirac semimetal PdTe$_2$. We report measurements of longitudinal and Hall resistivity, thermal conductivity and London penetration depth using tunnel-diode resonator technique for various irradiation doses. The normal state electrical resistivity follows Matthiessen rule with an increase of the residual resistivity at a rate of $\sim$0.77$ \mu \Omega$cm/$(\textrm{C}/\textrm{cm}^2)$. London penetration depth and thermal conductivity results show that the superconducting state remains fully gapped. The superconducting transition temperature is suppressed at a non-zero rate that is about sixteen times slower than described by the Abrikosov-Gor'kov dependence, applicable to magnetic impurity scattering in isotropic, single-band $s$-wave superconductors. To gain information about the gap structure and symmetry of the pairing state, we perform a detailed analysis of these experimental results based on insight from a generalized Anderson theorem for multi-band superconductors. This imposes quantitative constraints on the gap anisotropies for each of the possible pairing candidate states. We conclude that the most likely pairing candidate is an unconventional $A_{1g}^{+-}$ state. While we cannot exclude the conventional $A_{1g}^{++}$ and the triplet $A_{1u}$, we demonstrate that these states require additional assumptions about the orbital structure of the disorder potential to be consistent with our experimental results, e.g., a ratio of inter- to intra-band scattering for the singlet state significantly larger than one. Due to the generality of our theoretical framework, we think that it will also be useful for irradiation studies in other spin-orbit-coupled multi-orbital systems., Comment: 22 pages, 12 figures

LaCrGe$_3$ is an itinerant ferromagnet with a Curie temperature of $T_{\rm c}$ = 85 K and exhibits an avoided ferromagnetic quantum critical point under pressure through a modulated antiferromagnetic phase as well as tri-critical wing structure in its temperature-pressure-magnetic field ($T$-$p$-$H$) phase diagram. In order to understand the static and dynamical magnetic properties of LaCrGe$_3$, we carried out $^{139}$La nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) measurements. Based on the analysis of NMR data, using the self-consistent-renomalization (SCR) theory, the spin fluctuations in the paramagnetic state are revealed to be isotropic ferromagnetic and three dimensional (3D) in nature. Moreover, the system is found to follow the generalized Rhodes-Wohfarth relation which is expected in 3D itinerant ferromagnetic systems. As compared to other similar itinerant ferromagnets, the Cr 3$d$ electrons and their spin fluctuations are characterized to have a relatively high degree of localization in real space., Comment: 7 pages, 6 figures, accepted for publication in Phys. We present neutron diffraction data for the cubic-heavy-fermion YbBiPt that show broad magnetic diffraction peaks due to the fragile short-range antiferromagnetic (AFM) order persist under an applied magnetic-field $\mathbf{H}$. Our results for $\mathbf{H}\perp[\bar{1}~1~0]$ and a temperature of $T=0.14(1)$ K show that the $(\frac{1}{2},\frac{1}{2},\frac{3}{2})$ magnetic diffraction peak can be described by the same two-peak lineshape found for $\mu_{0}H=0$ T below the N\'{e}el temperature of $T_{\text{N}}=0.4$ K. Both components of the peak exist for $\mu_{0}H\lesssim1.4 T$, which is well past the AFM phase boundary determined from our new resistivity data. Using neutron diffraction data taken at $T=0.13(2)$ K for $\mathbf{H}\parallel[0~0~1]$ or $[1~1~0]$, we show that domains of short-range AFM order change size throughout the previously determined AFM and non-Fermi liquid regions of the phase diagram, and that the appearance of a magnetic diffraction peak at $(\frac{1}{2},\frac{1}{2},\frac{1}{2})$ at $\mu_{0}H\approx0.4$ T signals canting of the ordered magnetic moment away from $[1~1~1]$. The continued broadness of the magnetic diffraction peaks under a magnetic field and their persistence across the AFM phase boundary established by detailed transport and thermodynamic experiments present an interesting quandary concerning the nature of YbBiPt's electronic ground state., Comment: 12 pages, 15 figures

We use tunable, vacuum ultraviolet laser-based angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy and density functional theory calculations to study the electronic properties of Dirac semimetal candidate cubic PtBi${}_{2}$. In addition to bulk electronic states we also find surface states in PtBi${}_{2}$ which is expected as PtBi${}_{2}$ was theoretical predicated to be a candidate Dirac semimetal. The surface states are also well reproduced from DFT band calculations. Interestingly, the topological surface states form Fermi contours rather than double Fermi arcs that were observed in Na$_3$Bi. The surface bands forming the Fermi contours merge with bulk bands in proximity of the Dirac points projections, as expected. Our data confirms existence of Dirac states in PtBi${}_{2}$ and reveals the fragility of the Fermi arcs in Dirac semimetals. Because the Fermi arcs are not topologically protected in general, they can be deformed into Fermi contours, as proposed by [Kargarian {\it et al.}, PNAS \textbf{113}, 8648 (2016)]. While unusual normal state properties, such as non-Fermi liquid behavior of the resistivity, are commonly associated with strong quantum fluctuations, evidence for its presence inside the superconducting dome are much scarcer. In this paper, we use sensitive and minimally invasive optical magnetometry based on NV-centers in diamond to probe the doping evolution of the $T=0$ penetration depth in the electron-doped iron-based superconductor Ba(Fe$_{1-x}$Co$_x$)$_2$As$_2$. A non-monotonic evolution with a pronounced peak in the vicinity of the putative magnetic QPT is found. This behavior is reminiscent to that previously seen in isovalently-substituted BaFe$_2$(As$_{1-x}$P$_x$)$_2$ compounds, despite the notable differences between these two systems. Whereas the latter is a very clean system that displays nodal superconductivity and a single simultaneous first-order nematic-magnetic transition above, and even somewhat below, $T_c$, the former is a significantly dirtier system with fully gapped superconductivity and split second-order nematic and magnetic transition above $T_c$. Thus our observation that such distinct systems display remarkably similar penetration depth peaks, combined with the theoretical result that a QPT alone does not ensure the existence of a peak, unveils a puzzling and seemingly universal manifestation of quantum fluctuations in the iron pnictides.

Two ordering states, antiferromagnetism and nematicity, have been observed in most iron-based superconductors (SCs). In contrast to those SCs, the newly discovered SC CaK(Fe$_{1-x}$Ni$_x$)$_4$As$_4$ exhibits an antiferromagnetic (AFM) state, called hedgehog spin-vortex crystal structure, without nematic order, providing the opportunity for the investigation into the relationship between spin fluctuations and SC without any effects of nematic fluctuations. Our $^{75}$As nuclear magnetic resonance studies on CaK(Fe$_{1-x}$Ni$_x$)$_4$As$_4$ (0$\le x\le$ 0.049) revealed that CaKFe$_4$As$_4$ is located close to a hidden hedgehog SVC AFM quantum-critical point (QCP). The magnetic QCP without nematicity in CaK(Fe$_{1-x}$Ni$_x$)$_4$As$_4$ highlights the close connection of spin fluctuations and superconductivity in iron-based SCs. The advantage of stoichiometric composition also makes CaKFe$_4$As$_4$ an ideal platform for further detailed investigation of the relationship between magnetic QCP and superconductivity in iron-based SCs without disorder effects., Comment: 6 pages, 5 figures, accepted for publication in Phys. In-plane resistivity anisotropy was measured in strain-detwinned as-grown and partially annealed samples of isovalently-substituted $\mathrm{Ba(Fe_{1-x}Ru_{x})_{2}As_{2}}$ ($0

We use magnetization measurements, high-resolution angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES), and density functional theory (DFT) calculations to study the electronic properties of Au${}_{2}$Pb, a topological superconductor candidate. The magnetization measurements reveal three discontinuities at 40, 51, and 99~K that agree well with reported structural phase transitions. ARPES measurements of the Au${}_{2}$Pb (111) surface at 110~K shows a shallow hole pocket at the center and flower-petal-like surface states at the corners of the Brillouin zone. These observations match the results of DFT calculations relatively well. The flower-petal-like surface states appear to originate from a Dirac like dispersion close to the zone corner. For the Au${}_{2}$Pb (001) surface at 150~K, ARPES reveals at least one electron pocket between the $\Gamma$ and $M$ points, consistent with the DFT calculations. Our results provide evidence for the possible existence of Dirac state in this material., Comment: 6 pages, 4 figures

The lower critical magnetic field, $H_{c1}$, of superconductors is measured by using ensembles of NV-centers-in-diamond optical magnetometry. The technique is minimally invasive, and has sub-gauss field sensitivity and sub-$\mu$m spatial resolution, which allow for accurate detection of the vector field at which the vortices start penetrating the sample from the corners. Aided by the revised calculations of the effective demagnetization factors of actual cuboid - shaped samples, $H_{c1}$ and the London penetration depth, $\lambda$, derived from $H_{c1}$ can be obtained. We apply this method to three well-studied superconductors: optimally doped Ba(Fe$_{1-x}$Co$_{x}$)$_2$As$_2$, stoichiometric CaKFe$_4$As$_4$, and high-$T_c$ cuprate YBa$_2$Cu$_3$O$_{7-\delta}$. Our results are well compared with the values of $\lambda$ obtained using other techniques, thus adding another non-destructive and sensitive method to measure these important parameters of superconductors.

Superconductivity in iron pnictides is unconventional and pairing may be mediated by magnetic fluctuations in the Fe-sublattice. Pressure is a clean method to explore superconductivity in iron based superconductors by tuning the ground state continuously without introducing disorder. Here we present a systematic high pressure transport study in Ba(Fe$_{1-x}$Co$_{x}$)$_2$As$_2$ single crystals with $x=$ 0.057, which is near the antiferromagnetic instability. Resistivity $\rho=\rho_0+AT^{n}$ was studied under applied pressure up to 7.90 GPa. The parameter $n$ approaches a minimum value of $n\approx 1$ at a critical pressure $P_c =$ 3.65 GPa. Near $P_c$, the superconducting transition temperature $T_c$ reaches a maximum value of 25.8 K. In addition, the superconducting diamagnetism at 2 K shows a sudden change around the same critical pressure. These results may be associated with a possible quantum critical point hidden inside the superconducting dome, near optimum $T_c$., Comment: 5pages, 4 figures

The magnetic order in CaK(Fe[1-x]Ni[x])4As4 (1144) single crystals (x = 0.051 and 0.033) has been studied by neutron diffraction. We observe magnetic Bragg peaks associated to the same propagation vectors as found for the collinear stripe antiferromagnetic (AFM) order in the related BaFe2As2 (122) compound. The AFM state in 1144 preserves tetragonal symmetry and only a commensurate, non-collinear structure with a hedgehog spin-vortex crystal (SVC) arrangement in the Fe plane and simple AFM stacking along the c direction is consistent with our observations. The SVC order is promoted by the reduced symmetry in the FeAs layer in the 1144 structure. The long-range SVC order coexists with superconductivity, however, similar to the doped 122 compounds, the ordered magnetic moment is gradually suppressed with the developing superconducting order parameter. This supports the notion that both collinear and non-collinear magnetism and superconductivity are competing for the same electrons coupled by Fermi surface nesting in iron arsenide superconductors., Comment: (5 pages, 5 figures)

Enhanced microwave absorption, larger than that in the normal state, is observed in fine grains of type-II superconductors (MgB$_2$ and K$_3$C$_{60}$) for magnetic fields as small as a few $\%$ of the upper critical field. The effect is predicted by the theory of vortex motion in type-II superconductors, however its direct observation has been elusive due to skin-depth limitations; conventional microwave absorption studies employ larger samples where the microwave magnetic field exclusion significantly lowers the absorption. We show that the enhancement is observable in grains smaller than the penetration depth. A quantitative analysis on K$_3$C$_{60}$ in the framework of the Coffey--Clem (CC) theory explains well the temperature dependence of the microwave absorption and also allows to determine the vortex pinning force constant.

Superconducting gap structure was probed in type-II Dirac semimetal PdTe$_2$ by measuring the London penetration depth using tunnel diode resonator technique. At low temperatures, the data for two samples are well described by weak coupling exponential fit yielding $\lambda(T=0)=230$~nm as the only fit parameter at a fixed $\Delta(0)/T_c\approx 1.76$, and the calculated superfluid density is consistent with a fully gapped superconducting state characterized by a single gap scale. Electrical resistivity measurements for in-plane and inter-plane current directions find very low and nearly temperature-independent normal- state anisotropy. The temperature dependence of resistivity is typical for conventional phonon scattering in metals. We compare these experimental results with expectations from a detailed theoretical symmetry analysis and reduce the number of possible superconducting pairing states in PdTe$_2$ to only three nodeless candidates: a regular, topologically trivial, $s$-wave pairing, and two distinct odd-parity triplet states that both can be topologically non-trivial depending on the microscopic interactions driving the superconducting instability.

The detailed behavior of the in-plane infrared-active vibrational modes has been determined in AFe$_2$As$_2$ (A$\,=\,$Ca, Sr, and Ba) above and below the structural and magnetic transition at $T_N=$172, 195 and 138 K, respectively. Above $T_N$, two infrared-active $E_u$ modes are observed. In all three compounds, below $T_N$ the low-frequency $E_u$ mode is observed to split into upper and lower branches; with the exception of the Ba material, the oscillator strength across the transition is conserved. In the Ca and Sr materials, the high-frequency $E_u$ mode splits into an upper and a lower branch; however, the oscillator strengths are quite different. Surprisingly, in both the Sr and Ba materials, below $T_N$ the upper branch appears be either very weak or totally absent, while the lower branch displays an anomalous increase in strength. The frequencies and atomic characters of the lattice modes at the center of the Brillouin zone have been calculated for the high-temperature phase for each of these materials. The high-frequency $E_u$ mode does not change in position or character across this series of compounds. Below $T_N$, the $E_u$ modes are predicted to split into features of roughly equal strength. We discuss the possibility that the anomalous increase in the strength of the lower branch of the high-frequency mode below $T_N$ in the Sr and Ba compounds, and the weak (silent) upper branch, may be related to the orbital ordering and a change in the bonding between the Fe and As atoms in the magnetically-ordered state., Comment: 13 pages, 3 figures, 2 tables

Controlled point-like disorder introduced by 2.5 MeV electron irradiation was used to probe the superconducting state of single crystals of \CaKx\ superconductor at $x = 0$ and 0.05 doping levels. Both compositions show an increase of the residual resistivity and a decrease of the superconducting transition temperature, $T_c$ at the rate of $dT_c/d\rho(T_c) \approx$ 0.19 K(\textmu$\Omega$cm)$^{-1}$ for $x=0$ and 0.38 K(\textmu$\Omega$cm)$^{-1}$ for $x=\:$0.05, respectively. In Ni - doped, $x = 0.05$, compound the coexisting spin-vortex crystal (SVC) magnetic phase is suppressed at the rate of $dT_N/d\rho(T_N)\approx$ 0.16 K(\textmu$\Omega$cm)$^{-1}$. Low - temperature variation of London penetration depth is well approximated by the power law, $\Delta \lambda (T) = AT^n$ with $n\approx\,$2.5 for $x=0$ and $n\approx\,$1.9 for $x=0.05$ in the pristine state. Electron irradiation leads to the exponent $n$ increase above 2 in $x=0.05$ suggesting superconducting gap with significant anisotropy that is smeared by the disorder scattering. Detailed analysis of $\lambda (T)$ and \(T_{c}\) evolution with disorder is consistent with two effective nodeless superconducting energy gaps due to robust s$_{\pm}$ pairing. Overall the behavior of \CaKx\ at $x = 0$ is similar to a slightly overdoped \BaK\ at $y \approx$ 0.5 and at $x= 0.05$ to an underdoped composition at $y \approx$ 0.2.

We present $^{77}$Se-NMR measurements on FeSe$_{1-x}$S$_x$ samples with sulfur content $x=0,9,15$ and $29\%$. Twinned nematic domains are observed in the NMR spectrum for all samples except $x=29\%$. The NMR spin-lattice relaxation rate shows that magnetic fluctuations are initially enhanced between $x=0\%$ and $x=9\%$, but are strongly suppressed for higher $x$ values. The observed behavior of the magnetic fluctuations parallels the superconducting transition temperature $T_c$ in these materials, providing strong evidence for the primary importance of magnetic fluctuations for superconductivity, despite the presence of nematic quantum criticality in this system., Comment: 10 pages and 12 figures including 4 pages and 7 figures of Supplementary Material

We present the results of $^{75}$As nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR), and resistivity measurements in KFe$_2$As$_2$ under pressure ($p$). The temperature dependence of the NMR shift, nuclear spin-lattice relaxation time ($T_1$) and resistivity show a crossover between a high-temperature incoherent, local-moment behavior and a low-temperature coherent behavior at a crossover temperature ($T^*$). $T^*$ is found to increase monotonically with pressure, consistent with increasing hybridization between localized $3d$ orbital-derived bands with the itinerant electron bands. No anomaly in $T^*$ is seen at the critical pressure $p_{\rm c}=1.8$ GPa where a change of slope of the superconducting (SC) transition temperature $T_{\rm c}(p)$ has been observed. In contrast, $T_{\rm c}(p)$ seems to correlate with antiferromagnetic spin fluctuations in the normal state as measured by the NQR $1/T_1$ data, although such a correlation cannot be seen in the replacement effects of A in the AFe$_2$As$_2$ (A= K, Rb, Cs) family. In the superconducting state, two $T_1$ components are observed at low temperatures, suggesting the existence of two distinct local electronic environments. The temperature dependence of the short $T_{\rm 1s}$ indicates nearly gapless state below $T_{\rm c}$. On the other hand, the temperature dependence of the long component 1/$T_{\rm 1L}$ implies a large reduction in the density of states at the Fermi level due to the SC gap formation. These results suggest a real-space modulation of the local SC gap structure in KFe$_2$As$_2$ under pressure., Comment: 12 pages, 10 figures, accepted for publication in Phys.Rev. B

Coexistence of a new-type antiferromagnetic (AFM) state, the so-called hedgehog spin-vortex crystal (SVC), and superconductivity (SC) is evidenced by $^{75}$As nuclear magnetic resonance study on single-crystalline CaK(Fe$_{0.951}$Ni$_{0.049}$)$_4$As$_4$. The hedgehog SVC order is clearly demonstrated by the direct observation of the internal magnetic induction along the $c$ axis at the As1 site (close to K) and a zero net internal magnetic induction at the As2 site (close to Ca) below an AFM ordering temperature $T_{\rm N}$ $\sim$ 52 K. The nuclear spin-lattice relaxation rate 1/$T_1$ shows a distinct decrease below $T_{\rm c}$ $\sim$ 10 K, providing also unambiguous evidence for the microscopic coexistence. Furthermore, based on the analysis of the 1/$T_1$ data, the hedgehog SVC-type spin correlations are found to be enhanced below $T$ $\sim$ 150 K in the paramagnetic state.
