The purpose of this study was to find the relationship between the parameters of MS and the melanocortin type 4 receptor (MC4R) gene polymorphism in postmenopausal women. The study involved 344 healthy Polish women, who had their last menstrual cycle 1 year ago or earlier. The study included blood analysis, survey, and body measurements. The mean age was 58.5±6.6 years. An increased body mass index was observed in 65.7% and abdominal obesity in 80.3% of the study population. MS was diagnosed in 40.7% of all participants, including 39.3% of women with the T/T genotype and 44.7% of those with the C/X genotype (χ2 test; P>0.05). A logistic regression model showed that the probability of MS was higher in patients with the C/X genotype (odds ratio =1.25) (χ2 test; P>0.05). The study concluded that MS is a very common condition among postmenopausal women. The C/X genotype of the MC4R gene seems to predispose postmenopausal women to developing some MS symptoms. Mineral phosphorus is a non-renewable resource that is constantly decreasing due to intensive fertilizer production. In total, 90% of mined phosphate ore is used for fertilizer purposes, so the demand for phosphorus is the highest in this sector. In this respect, it is advisable to strive to close the phosphorus cycle. In addition, economically viable phosphate-bearing deposits are concentrated in just a few locations worldwide. This comes down to the fact that most countries are simply dependent on imports of this raw material. This and the growing amount of waste have contributed to the search for alternative sources of phosphorus. One example of such phosphorus-containing waste that has fertilizer potential is sodium–potassium phosphate waste from polyol production. This article describes the effect of suspension fertilizers based on polyol production waste on the content of macronutrients in maize intended for green fodder. Fertilizers containing only basic nutrients (NPK) and fertilizers enriched with secondary components (S, Mg) and micronutrients (Zn, Mn, B) were evaluated. The conducted studies confirmed the effectiveness of the tested suspension fertilizers. The content of macronutrients in the dry mass of maize was at a similar level compared with the results obtained in the control, in which Fosdar was used for fertilization, which confirms the suitability of these products for agricultural use.

The article analyzes soil organic carbon (SOC) content of in Poland from 2015 to 2021. The research aims to determine SOC levels and their dependence on soil agronomic categories and drought intensity. Soil samples from 1011 farms across 8 Polish voivodships were collected for analysis, all from the same agricultural plots. SOC determination was conducted using the Tiurin method. The results indicate a low SOC content nationwide (0.85-2.35%). Heavy soils exhibited higher SOC accumulation compared to light soils. Moreover, significant drought impact led to decreased SOC content in affected regions. Scientific evidence underscores a declining trend in organic carbon stock within agricultural soils, attributed to natural soil changes and unsustainable management practices. This decline is concerning given the crucial role of SOC in soil health, quality, and crop productivity. Therefore, it is imperative to monitor and address areas with low SOC levels to enhance SOC abundance. Furthermore, when used as a whole-cell biocatalyst in a low-cost upflow MFC, the Morganella morganii-rich SF11 consortium demonstrated the highest voltage and power density of 964.93±1.86 mV and 0.56±0.00 W/m3, respectively. These results suggest that the SF11 bacterial consortium has the potential for use in ceramic separator MFCs for the removal of penicillin and electricity generation.

The aim of the study was to determine the effect of three new solid fertilisers (based on Salmag®) with innovative IDHA chelate additives (Cu, Mo and Fe) on the yield, yield (grain, straw), biometric characteristics and chemical composition (total N, Ca, Mg and Cu, Mo, and Fe) of spring wheat and soil properties in the pot experiment. The nitrogen dose in all fertilised plots was 140 mg kg−1 of soil (60% before sowing, 40% at tillering). Before sowing, uniform fertilisation with phosphorus (60 mg kg−1 of soil) and potassium (60 mg kg−1 of soil) were also applied. At the stem elongation stage, nitrogen fertilisers, especially Salmag® with Cu, promoted an increase, and Salmag® with Mo and Fe promoted a decrease in leaf greenness at other growth stages of spring wheat. All nitrogen fertilisers had a positive effect on height (especially Salmag® and Salmag® with Mo) and yield (especially Salmag® with Cu and Mo) of spring wheat grain and straw. The effect on grain yield was stronger, while Salmag® with Fe was slightly weaker than pure Salmag®. All applied nitrogen fertilisers increased total N in grain and straw and Ca and Mg in spring wheat straw. Nitrogen fertilisers enriched with micronutrients generally had a weaker effect than Salmag® on the content of total N in grain (in contrast to straw) and Ca and Mg. The addition of Cu, Mo, and especially Fe chelates increased the content of chelated elements in spring wheat, especially in straw. The pH value of the soil after harvest of spring wheat was slightly higher after the application of Salmag® and lower in the soil fertilised with Salmag® with Mo and Salmag® with Fe than in the control. Salmag® and Salmag® with Cu showed a significant increase in soil Mg and all nitrogen fertilisers (especially Salmag® with Fe) in soil Ca content after spring wheat harvest. Salmag® with Cu caused the greatest increase in soil Cu content. The new fertilisers with Mo chelate and especially with Cu chelate showed a significant effect on yield formation and quality of spring wheat.

The following research hypotheses were established in this study: the applied urea and ammonium nitrate solution with potassium thiosulfate (UAN-KTS) has a positive effect on the chemical composition of spring wheat, spring rape and maize; fertilization with nitrogen, potassium and sulfur increases their contents in the usable parts of plants; the forms of applied fertilizers reduce the antagonistic effect of nitrogen and potassium on the content of other elements in plants. Two doses of nitrogen (N 1—optimal dose of nitrogen for a plant species; N 2—25% lower dose of nitrogen) and different ratios of N:K:S elements (N:K:S—without K and S; N:K1:S1—a narrowed ratio; N:K2:S2—the optimal ratio; N:K3:S3—an expanded ratio) were applied. The experiment was carried out on two soils of different quality. The improved soil quality resulted in a significant increase in the calcium (as opposed to magnesium) content of the three crops, in the nitrogen and sulfate–sulfur (VI) content of spring wheat grain and spring rapeseed, and in the phosphorus content of spring rapeseed and maize aerial parts. Reducing the dose (N 2) had a negative effect on the nitrogen content of spring wheat and on the sulfate–sulfur (VI) content of spring rape, maize and especially spring wheat. Increasing the N:K:S ratio had a small but usually antagonistic effect on the nitrogen content of all plant species, but a synergistic one on the potassium content of spring wheat, maize and partly of spring rape, and especially on the content of sulfate–sulfur (VI) in the crops. The effect of type of soil and fertilizers with different N:K:S ratios on the content of other macronutrients was related to plant species. The new fertilizer with the N:K2:S2 ratio had the greatest effect on the content of the tested macronutrients in spring wheat, spring rape and maize. In order to confirm the obtained relationships, it seems justified to carry out field experiments and studies with other plant species.

The need to import phosphorus raw materials for fertilizer purposes in Europe as well as the need to manage increasing amounts of waste contributed to the search for alternative sources of phosphorus. One of these is waste sodium–potassium phosphate from the production of polyols. Additionally, a current problem is providing an adequate amount of food, where fertilizers play the main role. Due to the increase in meat consumption, the attractiveness of growing corn for feed is increasing due to its high yield potential and rich composition. The article presents the impact of suspension fertilizers based on waste from the production of polyols on the yield of corn intended for green fodder. In a 3-year field study, the effects of a waste phosphorus source were compared with a commercial granulated phosphorus fertilizer—fosdar. In addition, the suspension fertilizers were assessed according to their composition by testing fertilizers containing only basic nutrients (NPK) and ones enriched with secondary ingredients (S and Mg) and microelements (Zn, Mn and B). The research confirmed the effectiveness of the tested suspension fertilizers. Although the yield obtained was lower than in the case of fosdar fertilization, it still remained at a high level of over 70 t∙ha−1 of fresh yield.

Cell-based therapies hold promise for novel therapeutic strategies in regenerative medicine. We previously characterized in vitro human umbilical di-chimeric cells (HUDCs) created via the ex vivo fusion of human umbilical cord blood (UCB) cells derived from two unrelated donors. In this in vivo study, we assessed HUDC safety and biodistribution in the NOD SCID mouse model at 90 days following the systemic intraosseous administration of HUDCs. Twelve NOD SCID mice (n = 6/group) received intraosseous injection of donor UCB cells (3.0 × 106) in Group 1, or HUDCs (3.0 × 106) in Group 2, without immunosuppression. Flow cytometry assessed hematopoietic cell surface markers in peripheral blood and the presence of HLA-ABC class I antigens in lymphoid and non-lymphoid organs. HUDC safety was assessed by weekly evaluations, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and at autopsy for tumorigenicity. At 90 days after intraosseous cell administration, the comparable expression of HLA-ABC class I antigens in selected organs was found in UCB control and HUDC therapy groups. MRI and autopsy confirmed safety by no signs of tumor growth. This study confirmed HUDC biodistribution to selected lymphoid organs following intraosseous administration, without immunosuppression. These data introduce HUDCs as a novel promising approach for immunomodulation in transplantation.

In the cultivation of crops in recent times, in addition to taking care of the balanced supply of nutrients to plants and the protection of soil resources, it is also important to take into account the non-productive factor by implementing production systems based on balanced fertilisation. The aim of this study was to demonstrate the effect of soil kind and the application of a new fertiliser based on a urea and ammonium nitrate solution with potassium thiosulphate (UAN-KTS) on the yielding and biometric characteristics of spring wheat, spring rape, and maize to determine the optimal N:K:S ratio. An increase in the soil kind increased the weight of 1000 spring rape seeds, the yield of maize fresh matter, a reduction in the height of spring wheat and maize plants, a reduction in the yield of spring wheat grains and straw, and the yield of the fresh and dry matter of spring rape straw. A higher nitrogen dose promoted the growth of spring rape at the later growing stage and maize and had a positive effect on the yield of spring wheat grains and straw, spring rape seeds and straw, and the above-ground parts of maize. The application of potassium fertilisers caused a significant increase in the spring rape plant height, an increase in the yield of spring wheat grains and straw and spring rape seeds and straw, the above-ground parts of maize, a reduction in the plant height at the beginning of the spring wheat growing period, and a reduction in the weight of 1000 spring rape seeds (only on the soil with rich quality). The fertiliser with the N:K2:S2 ratio had a particularly favourable effect on the yielding of spring wheat. In the cultivation of maize, the same effect was most often obtained under the influence of fertiliser in the ratio of N:K1:S1 on the weaker soil fertilised at the same time as a higher dose of nitrogen (N 1) and N:K2:S2 (in other cases). In the case of spring rape, generally, fertiliser with N:K1:S1 was the strongest, although, in some objects, a higher yield was achieved under the influence of N:K2:S2. The existence of statistically confirmed correlations (expressed as the percentage of the variability observed) between the soil kind and the fertilisers applied and the yielding and biometric characteristics of the plants were observed.

Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) is a lethal disease caused by mutation in the dystrophin gene. Currently there is no cure for DMD. We introduced a novel human Dystrophin Expressing Chimeric (DEC) cell therapy of myoblast origin and confirmed the safety and efficacy of DEC in the mdx mouse models of DMD. In this study, we assessed histological and morphological changes in the cardiac, diaphragm, and gastrocnemius muscles of the mdx/scid mice after the transplantation of human DEC therapy via the systemic-intraosseous route. The efficacy of different DEC doses was evaluated at 90 days (0.5 × 106 and 1 × 106 DEC cells) and 180 days (1 × 106 and 5 × 106 DEC cells) after administration. The evaluation of Hematoxylin & Eosin (H&E)-stained sectional slices of cardiac, diaphragm, and gastrocnemius muscles included assessment of muscle fiber size by minimal Feret’s diameter method using ImageJ software. The overall improvement in muscle morphology was observed in DMD-affected target muscles in both studies, as evidenced by a shift in fiber size distribution toward the wild type (WT) phenotype and by an increase in the mean Feret’s diameter compared to the vehicle-injected controls. These findings confirm the long-term efficacy of human DEC therapy in the improvement of overall morphological pathology in the muscles affected by DMD and introduce DEC as a novel therapeutic approach for DMD patients.

Background: Manifestations of OAB can considerably diminish the quality of life. Botulinum toxin has emerged as a valuable treatment option in diseases whose symptoms cannot be controlled adequately with other available therapies. The aim of the present study was to compare the subjective quality of life of patients with OAB before the injection of botulinum toxin and three and six months after the intervention. Methods: This study was based on a diagnostic survey with three validated questionnaires, ICIQ-OAB, ICIQ-OABqol, and ICIQ-LUTSqol, and an additional questionnaire developed by the authors to collect sociodemographic characteristics and selected medical data. Results: This study demonstrated significant differences between pre-treatment scores and those at three and six months post injection. At three and six months after the intervention, mean scores for all three instruments (ICIQ-OAB, ICIQ-OABqol, ICIQ-LUTSqol) were significantly lower than the respective pre-treatment values, implying a significant attenuation of OAB symptoms and their lower impact on the quality of life. However, the severity of OAB symptoms and their impact on the quality of life at six months post intervention were significantly higher than at three months, except for the social interaction domain. Conclusions: Botulinum toxin is an effective treatment for OAB.

Simple Summary: Radioligand therapy (RLT) with the use of [177Lu]Lu-DOTA-TATE and [90Y]Y-DOTA-TATE is a subsequent line of the neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs) treatment. A total of 127 patients with progressive NENs underwent 4 courses of RLT. Changes in laboratory parameters, adverse events (AEs), progression-free survival (PFS), and overall survival (OS) were analyzed. RLT caused changes in laboratory parameters regarding kidney and bone marrow function, as well as glucose concentration. Nevertheless, RLT appeared to be a safe method of NEN treatment with a low number of AEs and a high percentage of survival rate in a long-term observation. Background: Neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs) are neoplastic tumors developing in every part of the body, mainly in the gastrointestinal tract and pancreas. Their treatment involves the surgical removal of the tumor and its metastasis, long-acting somatostatin analogs, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and radioligand therapy (RLT). Materials and Methods: A total of 127 patients with progressive neuroendocrine neoplasms underwent RLT—4 courses, administered every 10 weeks—with the use of 7.4 GBq [177Lu]Lu-DOTA-TATE or tandem therapy with 1.85 GBq [177Lu]Lu-DOTA-TATE and 1.85 GBq [90Y]Y-DOTA-TATE. Assessment of short- and long-term complications, as well as the calculation of progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) were performed. Results: RLT caused a statistically but not clinically significant decrease in blood morphology parameters during both short- and long-term observations. Glomerular filtration rate (GFR) significantly decreased only in a long-term observation after RLT; however, it was clinically acceptable. Computed predictions of progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) indicated that five years post-RLT, there is a 74% chance of patients surviving, with only a 58.5% likelihood of disease progression. Conclusions: Computed predictions of PFS and OS confirmed treatment efficiency and good patient survival. RLT should be considered a safe and reliable line of treatment for patients with progressive NENs as it causes only a low number of low-grade adverse events. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Simple Summary: Non-iodine avid differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC) may be a diagnostic problem, especially in patients with an indeterminate response to treatment (i.e., with thyroglobulin (Tg) concentration in the range of 1–10 ng/mL). PET/CT with [18F]FDG may be a useful technique for visualizing non-iodine avid DTC lesions. Presented study assessed the usefulness of using exogenous stimulation with recombinant human TSH (rhTSH) before PET/CT with [18F]FDG in detecting non-iodine avid foci of DTC in patients with elevated sTg and negative 131I WBS and the usefulness of Tg concentration in predicting a positive result of [18F]FDG PET/CT in this type of patients and to determine the optimal Tg cut-off point for obtaining a positive [18F]FDG PET/CT result. In a retrospective analysis including 73 patients with DTC suspected of having non-iodine avid recurrence or metastases there was no effect of rhTSH stimulation on the sensitivity and specificity of PET/CT, but a positive impact on the number of lesions visible in the examination was observed. Moreover, rhTSH stimulation allowed for visualization of non-iodine avid lesions with lower Tg concentration. Introduction: Non-iodine avid metastases of differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC) can be found using PET/CT with a fluorine-18-labeled glucose analog ([18F]FDG). There are ongoing discussions on the appropriateness of using exogenous thyrotropin (TSH) stimulation before this examination. Material and Methods: In a retrospective study, 73 PET/CT scans with [18F]FDG performed after exogenous stimulation with recombinant human TSH (rhTSH) and without such stimulation were analyzed. All analyzed patients were suspected of having non-iodine-avid foci of DTC. Results: The stimulation with rhTSH before the PET/CT did not affect the percentage of positive results: 37.5% (18/48) with rhTSH and 40% (10/25) without rhTSH (p = 0.83). The analysis of the ROC curves established the cut-off thyroglobulin point for a positive PET/CT result separately for both subgroups. There was no statistically significant difference between obtaining a positive PET/CT result and the baseline thyroglobulin concentration (both stimulated and unstimulated). The exogenous stimulation of TSH prior to the PET/CT had no effect on the [18F]FDG uptake in the PET/CT lesions. Conclusions: PET/CT with [18F]FDG remains a useful method for the diagnosis of non-iodine-avid DTC lesions; in the presented group, a positive effect of rhTSH stimulation on the number of DTC foci visible in the PET/CT was found, but without affecting its effectiveness. Simple Summary: This article examines the significance of β-chemokines, γ-chemokines, and δ-chemokines in acute myeloid leukemia (AML). It focuses on the effects of these chemotactic cytokines on both leukemic cells and non-leukemic cells within the tumor niche in the bone marrow. This article emphasizes the substantial impact of certain chemokines on tumorigenic processes in AML, highlighting the correlation between chemokine expression and patient prognosis. However, the mechanisms underlying this relationship remain poorly understood. The lack of comprehensive understanding of the role of chemokines in AML impedes the development of new anti-leukemic drugs targeting these chemokines and their receptors. Background/Objectives: Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a type of leukemia with a very poor prognosis. Consequently, this neoplasm is extensively researched to discover new therapeutic strategies. One area of investigation is the study of intracellular communication and the impact of the bone marrow microenvironment on AML cells, with chemokines being a key focus. The roles of β-chemokines, γ-chemokines, and δ-chemokines in AML processes have not yet been sufficiently characterized. Methods: This publication summarizes all available knowledge about these chemotactic cytokines in AML and myelodysplastic neoplasm (MDS) processes and presents potential therapeutic strategies to combat the disease. The significance of β-chemokines, γ-chemokines, and δ-chemokines is detailed, including CCL2 (MCP-1), CCL3 (MIP-1α), CCL5 (RANTES), CCL23, CCL28, and CX3CL1 (fractalkine). Additionally, the importance of atypical chemokine receptors in AML is discussed, specifically ACKR1, ACKR2, ACKR4, and CCRL2. Results/Conclusions: The focus is on the effects of these chemokines on AML cells, particularly their influence on proliferation and resistance to anti-leukemic drugs. Intercellular interactions with non-AML cells, such as mesenchymal stem cells (MSC), macrophages, and regulatory T cells (Treg), are also characterized. The clinical aspects of chemokines are thoroughly explained, including their effect on overall survival and the relationship between their blood levels and AML characteristics. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of Nigella sativa L. (NS) oil addition on the quality of ground pork for pâté stored for one month and two months (−20 ± 1 °C). The study was conducted on a negative control (C), a positive control with the addition of antioxidant (CB) butylated hydroxyanisole (E320), and two groups with the addition of NS oil at the level of 1.9% (O1) and 3.8% (O2). The quality parameters tested in the meat were colour (measured in the CIELab system), lipid oxidation products, the fatty acid profile, thrombogenicity (T1), atherogenicity (A1), and the ratio of hypocholesterolemia to hypercholesterolemia (h/H). After roasting the pâtés, their volatile compound profiles were studied and sensory tests were conducted. A significant effect of NS oil additive on meat colour was found and ΔE for C-O2 increased faster during storage than for C-O1 and C-CB. NS oil additive in pork pâté improved the fatty acid profile. Significant differences in the rate of the fatty acid profile change during storage were observed with the addition of 3.8% NS oil compared to the other groups. Only the O2 group showed no change in PUFA content, while the h/H ratio was approximately 20% higher in the groups with added oil. The addition of NS oil also slowed the growth of TBARSs compared to the C and CB groups. The volatile compound profile of the raw pâté was most influenced by the proportion of terpenes in the NS oil. After two months of meat storage, the O1 pâté received the highest sensory ratings.

PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) is a common endocrine disorder that affects 8–13% of women of reproductive age. Increased body weight and insulin resistance may be associated with chronic inflammation, which increases the risk of cardiovascular complications. CRP (C-reactive protein) tests may be use to assess persistent inflammation. Elevated CRP levels may be associated with insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes. Determination of hsCRP, highly sensitive C-reactive protein, can be used to assess cardiovascular risk in women with PCOS. In this study, 120 women between the ages of 18 and 42 were divided into two groups: patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (n = 80) and regular menstruating women in whom PCOS was excluded (n = 40). Lipid and carbohydrate metabolism parameters and hsCRP levels were assessed, followed by receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis for hsCRP, where metabolic syndrome was the dependent variable. For hsCRP, the cutoff point was 1.44 (mg/dL). Sensitivity for the cutoff point was 0.913 and specificity was 0.691. The area under the curve (AUC) was 0.851 (p < 0.000). The closer the AUC value is to unity, the better the predictive ability of the studied variable. There was also a statistically significant correlation between hsCRP levels and the presence of metabolic syndrome.

Student attrition is a significant problem and a huge challenge from an institutional point of view. Although completion rates in Poland are lower than in most Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development countries, the problem has not been studied thoroughly. In order to shed light on that problem the aim of this paper is to present the results of a mixed methods study on dropout behaviour at the University of Warsaw, Poland's largest higher education institution, combining administrative data analysis, survey research and individual in-depth interviews. The main results are: 1) students drop out mainly during the first year of studies, 2) there are three main types of dropouts -- planned dropout, academic failure and those who are disappointed with their studies 3) one of the reasons for this lies in the process of choosing the study programme. Improving this decision process by providing more information and support to candidates should help reduce dropout rates.

Osteoporosis is a disease characterised by a reduction in bone strength due to increased porosity and impaired mineralisation. In our study, we investigated whether muscle strength and mass exert a significant effect on bone mineral density in young adult women. We also tested whether sclerostin can be used as an indicator in the assessment of bone mineralisation. The study included 111 patients. All patients had their bone mineral density determined in the L1–L4 section of the lumbar spine and in the whole skeleton. The parameters of fat mass (FM), lean body mass (LBM) and visceral fat mass (VF) were also determined. Metabolic activity of osteocytes was assessed by measuring the serum sclerostin concentration. There was a statistically significant association of both hands’ muscle strength with all parameters expressing bone mineralisation. A statistically significant relationship was also obtained between BMD L1–L4 and the body mass components (FM, LBM). Sclerostin levels in the study did not differ between groups with normal and reduced bone mineral density. Muscle strength assessment may be a potential exponent of reduced bone mineral density, also used clinically in young adult women. The utility of sclerostin in the clinical assessment of bone mineralisation has not been demonstrated.

Application of mineral fertilisers can entail an increase in trace element content in the soil. In consequence, their elevated uptake by plants and transfer to further trophic chain links may occur. The aim of the research reported here was to determine the usefulness of the tested organic materials, such as humic acids, for reduction of the content of trace elements in two soils fertilised with excessive doses of nitrogen fertilisers. Soil type had a considerable effect on soil trace element content. The content of most trace elements (cadmium, lead, chromium, cobalt, nickel, manganese, and iron) was higher in loamy sand than in sand. Among the tested fertilisers, a higher content of most soil trace elements was found after the application of ammonium nitrate. Urea fertilisation led to a decrease in the content of cadmium, chromium, copper, and zinc in both soils; cobalt, manganese, and nickel in sand; and an increase in concentration of cobalt and manganese in loamy sand, relative to the subjects fertilised with ammonium nitrate. Urea ammonium nitrate solution (UAN) decreased the content of chromium, cadmium, copper, nickel, and zinc in both soils; lead in the sand; and cobalt in the loamy sand, while raising the content of lead in the loamy sand, relative to the subjects fertilised with ammonium nitrate. The impact of urea and UAN on the remaining trace element content in the soils was comparable to that effected by ammonium nitrate. The effect of humic acids on trace element content in the soil tended to be beneficial, as they reduced the soil concentrations of these elements compared to the control subject (without their application). However, it should be emphasised that their effect depended on nitrogen fertiliser form and soil type. Humic acids can effectively reduce the uptake of trace elements by some plant species.

The aim of the study was to determine the effect of three new solid fertilisers (based on Salmag®) with innovative IDHA chelate additives (Cu, Mo and Fe) on the yield, yield (grain, straw), biometric characteristics and chemical composition (total N, Ca, Mg and Cu, Mo, and Fe) of spring wheat and soil properties in the pot experiment. The nitrogen dose in all fertilised plots was 140 mg kg−1 of soil (60% before sowing, 40% at tillering). Before sowing, uniform fertilisation with phosphorus (60 mg kg−1 of soil) and potassium (60 mg kg−1 of soil) were also applied. At the stem elongation stage, nitrogen fertilisers, especially Salmag® with Cu, promoted an increase, and Salmag® with Mo and Fe promoted a decrease in leaf greenness at other growth stages of spring wheat. All nitrogen fertilisers had a positive effect on height (especially Salmag® and Salmag® with Mo) and yield (especially Salmag® with Cu and Mo) of spring wheat grain and straw. The effect on grain yield was stronger, while Salmag® with Fe was slightly weaker than pure Salmag®. All applied nitrogen fertilisers increased total N in grain and straw and Ca and Mg in spring wheat straw. Nitrogen fertilisers enriched with micronutrients generally had a weaker effect than Salmag® on the content of total N in grain (in contrast to straw) and Ca and Mg. The addition of Cu, Mo, and especially Fe chelates increased the content of chelated elements in spring wheat, especially in straw. The pH value of the soil after harvest of spring wheat was slightly higher after the application of Salmag® and lower in the soil fertilised with Salmag® with Mo and Salmag® with Fe than in the control. Salmag® and Salmag® with Cu showed a significant increase in soil Mg and all nitrogen fertilisers (especially Salmag® with Fe) in soil Ca content after spring wheat harvest. Salmag® with Cu caused the greatest increase in soil Cu content. The new fertilisers with Mo chelate and especially with Cu chelate showed a significant effect on yield formation and quality of spring wheat. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
