8. Efecto de diferentes tensiones del agua en el suelo sobre la absorción nutricional de macroelementos en el cultivo de cebolla (Allium cepa) c.v. Álvara en ambiente protegido

- Abstract
Moisture in the soil can be studied in several ways, but a fundamental way is the suction with which the water is retained. The retention exerted by the soil or soil substrate in its pore space on moisture is a representation of the amount of negative pressure that the plant must exert through its roots to suck the water found in it. If this magnitude of suction is high, then it can become restrictive to plant growth. The water found in the porous space, usually called soil solution, is not found in a pure state, but is normally found in solution and has chemical elements that the plant may or may not need for its growth and development, whereby absorbing said water, also absorbs the chemical elements in solution. For these reasons, 4 treatments were planted which consisted of maintaining the soil in ranges of 5 - 15 kPa, 15 - 25 kPa, 25 - 35 kPa and 35 - 45 kPa of water retention and quantifying the nutritional absorption. With respect to nutritional uptake which was present in the soil substrate, Nitrogen (N) and Phosphorus (P) showed significant difference (Pvalue < 0,05) in the soil water suction ranges of 5 - 15 kPa, 15 - 25 kPa, 25 - 35 kPa and 35 - 45 kPa and Potassium (K), Calcium (Ca), Magnesium (Mg) and Sulfur (S) showed significant difference (Pvalue < 0,05) in the 5 - 15 kPa, 15 - 25 kPa, 25 - 35 kPa ranges but showed no significant difference (Pvalue > 0,05) in the 25 - 35 kPa and 35 - 45 kPa ranges. Therefore, it was concluded that there is an inverse effect of the increase of water suction in the soil on the decrease of nutritional absorption capacity., La humedad en el suelo se puede estudiar de varias maneras, pero una forma fundamental es la succión con que el agua es retenida. La retención que ejerce el suelo o sustrato de suelo en su espacio poroso sobre la humedad es una representación de la cantidad de presión negativa que debe ejercer la planta por medio de sus raíces para poder succionar el agua que se encuentra en el mismo. Si esta magnitud de succión es alta, entonces puede llegar a ser restrictiva para el crecimiento de la planta. El agua que se encuentra en el espacio poroso llamada usualmente solución del suelo, no se encuentra en estado puro, sino que se encuentra normalmente en disolución y posee elementos químicos que puede o no necesitar la planta para su crecimiento y desarrollo donde al absorber dicha agua, absorbe también los elementos químicos en disolución. Por estas razones se plantaron 4 tratamientos que consistieron en mantener el suelo en ámbitos de 5 – 15 kPa (kilo pascales), 15 – 25 kPa, 25 – 35 kPa y 35 – 45 kPa de retención de agua. Con respecto a la absorción nutricional que se presentó en el sustrato de suelo, el nitrógeno (N) y el Fósforo (P) mostraron diferencia significativa (Pvalue < 0,05) en los ámbitos de succión de agua en el suelo de 5 – 15 kPa, 15 - 25 kPa, 25 – 35 kPa y 35 – 45 kPa y el Potasio (K), Calcio (Ca), Magnesio (Mg) y Azufre (S) mostraron diferencia significativa (Pvalue < 0,05) en los ámbitos de 5 – 15 kPa, 15 - 25 kPa, 25 – 35 kPa, pero no mostraron diferencia significativa (Pvalue > 0,05) en los ámbitos de 25 – 35 kPa y 35 – 45 kPa. Por lo anterior, se concluyó que si existe un efecto inverso del aumento de la succión de agua en el suelo en la disminución de la capacidad de absorción nutricional.

- Abstract
Bolbapium Boucomont, 1910 is a Neotropical genus of Geotrupidae with 22 known species. In this paper, we describe Bolbapium vazdemelloi sp. nov. in Southwestern Bahia, Brazil. This new species is distinguished from congeneric species by its unique combination of morphological characters: cephalic tubercle adjacent to each eye; pronotum with little expanded bidentate tubercle; parameres symmetric, with acute and divergent apex. The new species was incorporated into a previously published identification key for Bolbapium.

Cerambycidae is one of the largest families of Coleoptera, with approximately 38,000 species described. Knowledge of Cerambycidae fauna in Brazil has increased in the last 50 years, but some regions, such as the Brazilian semi-arid region, remain relatively unexplored. An updated checklist of Cerambycidae from that region, based on previously published works, checklists, and catalogs, and the study of 331 specimens of 72 species, 58 genera, 26 tribes, and three subfamilies deposited in the collection of the Zoology Museum of the Universidade Estadual de Feira de Santana is provided. This list has 633 species, 303 genera, 58 tribes, of four subfamilies of Cerambycidae from 75 municipalities in nine states in the Brazilian semi-arid region. A map illustrating the distribution of the Cerambycidae species in the semi-arid region is also provided. Four new species are described: Eburodacrys boteroi sp. nov. and Coccoderus costae sp. nov. (Cerambycinae); and Aerenicopsis joseferreirai sp. nov. and Pseudomecas mourai sp. nov. (Lamiinae). The new species are included in an identification key to the respective genus. Furthermore, Antodice kyra Martins & Galileo, 1998 is new record from the Bahia State; Chevrolatella tripunctata (Chevrolat, 1862) is a new record to Brazilian semi-arid region; Colobothea rubroornata Zajciw, 1962 is a new record from Bahia State and Brazilian semi-arid region, and Odontocera bilobata Zajciw, 1965 is a new record from the Bahia State and Brazilian semi-arid region. It is evident that some regions in the Brazilian semi-arid region are poorly sampled and new inventory studies must be carried out.

- Abstract
The need to know the water consumption of a crop during its vegetative period, be it annual or perennial, is fundamental due to the climate change underway, which manifests both a decrease in the amount of precipitation in different areas of our country and a concentration of this precipitation. In addition, it is necessary to be efficient and effective in the use of water resources for irrigation in agriculture, both in open and protected environments, and thus to strive for sustainable development. To achieve this, it is necessary to know the values of reference evapotranspiration, actual evapotranspiration and crop coefficient in order to estimate and project water applications through irrigation systems as close to reality as possible.For generations, crop coefficient values of a crop have been used independently of the mathematical method of estimating reference evapotranspiration without knowing whether or not there are differences in the results obtained in the estimated water consumptions. However, by means of mathematical methods for estimating reference evapotranspiration using data on relative humidity, temperature and solar radiation inside a greenhouse, a significant difference in crop coefficient values was found. The methodologies of Ivanov and Camargo did not show significant differences (0,05) with respect to the methodologies of Benavidez, Linacre, Hargreaves and Turc; the methodologies of Benavidez and Linacre presented significant differences (0,05) both among them and with respect to the methodologies of Ivanov, Camargo, Hargreaves and Turc; and Hargreaves and Turc did not present significant differences among them but significant differences (0,05) were found with respect to the methodologies of Ivanov, Camargo, Benavidez and Linacre, La necesidad de conocer el consumo de agua que un cultivo tiene en el transcurso de su periodo vegetativo sea este anual o perenne, es fundamental debido al cambio climático en desarrollo el cual manifiesta tanto una baja en la cantidad de agua precipitada en diferentes zonas de nuestro país como una concentración de estas precipitaciones. Además, es necesario ser eficiente y eficaz en el uso del recurso hídrico para riego en la agricultura tanto en ambientes abiertos como protegidos y por medio de ello, procurar el desarrollo sostenible. Para lograr esto, es menester conocer los valores de evapotranspiración de referencia, evapotranspiración real y el coeficiente del cultivo con el fin de estimar y proyectar aplicaciones de agua por medio de sistemas de riego lo más ajustadas a la realidad posible. Por generaciones se ha utilizado valores del coeficiente del cultivo independientemente del método matemático de estimación de la evapotranspiración de referencia sin conocer si existen diferencias o no en los resultados obtenidos en los consumos de agua estimados. No obstante, por medio de métodos matemáticos de estimación de la evapotranspiración de referencia utilizando datos de la humedad relativa, temperatura y radiación solar dentro de un invernadero, se encontró diferencia significativa en los valores del coeficiente del cultivo. En las metodologías de Ivanov y Camargo no se encontró diferencia significativa entre ellos pero si se encontró diferencias significativas (0,05) con respecto a las metodologías de Benavidez, Linacre, Hargreaves y Turc; las metodologías de Benavidez y Linacre presentaron diferencias significativa (0,05) tanto entre ellos y como con respecto a las metodologías de Ivanov, Camargo, Hargreaves y Turc; y Hargreaves y Turc no presentaron diferencia significativa entre ellos pero si se encontró diferencias significativas (0,05) con respecto a las metodologías de Ivanov, Camargo, Benavidez y Linacre.

- Abstract
Polletomyia Curler, 2020 is a Neotropical genus of Psychodidae that was established based on Polletomyia subulata Curler, 2020 from French Guiana. In this paper, we describe a second species of the genus from the Brazilian Amazon. The specimens were collected by the late Larry Quate, a psychodid expert, and are deposited at the Museu de Zoologia of Universidade Estadual de Feira de Santana. We provide illustrations and descriptions of both males and females of the new species.

- Abstract
Psychoda Latreille is one of the largest genera of Psychodidae, with around 450 species, from which more than 130 are known from only one of the sexes. This is a result of the high diversity, sympatry of close related species and scarcity of diagnostic characters to accurately associate males and females in this genus. Here we describe a new species, Psychoda dactyla sp. n., from Brazil, Amazonas, São Gabriel da Cachoeira with morphological description of male and female specimens associated by DNA-barcoding.

Monophyly: Characters in support of the monophyly of the genus are as follows: oval shape of the dorsal border bounded by the postoccipital margin and opistosomal suture limited by the postmentum (12-2); flagellomeres located mediobasally in flagellomeres (28-0); cercus acuminated (60-1). Diagnosis: Distance between antennal sockets short, less than one-third the width of the antennal socket. Dorsal border bounded by the postoccipital margin and oval or subtriangular opistosomal suture. Palpus with four or three segments; when four, the first and second with a small proximal area fused. Antennae with the first flagellomere approximately the same length as the second flagellomere; all flagellomeres connected asymmetrically in most species. Ascoids long, showing approximately the same length as or being longer than the flagellomere, and located near the flagellomere base. Scutum with alveoli concentrated on the margins and absent in the central region. In all species, male terminalia bearing a projection at the apex of the cercus with a more accuminate shape. Description: Male. Head subcircular and eyes without an ocular bridge. Distance between antennal sockets short, less than one-third of the antennal socket width. Supraocular bristles in a single row. Two or three supracervical bristles, and the dorsal border bounded by the postoccipital margin and an opistosomal suture, oval or piriform. Labella globose and irregular with a swollen apex or elongated with an acuminate apex. Palpus with three or four segments; when with four, the first two segments are completely or partly fused. Scape cylindrical, approximately the same size as the spherical or cylindrical pedicel. The first flagellomere is nearly as long as the second flagellomere, with a pyriform or fusiform shape, and the insertion point between them is asymmetrical. Ascoids longer or of the same length as the flagellomere, arranged in an S or C shape and positioned mediobasally. Scutum with alveoli concentrated at the margins and absent in the central region, except in T. nuda and T. incrustabilis. Anepimeron with alveoli, except in T. nuda, T. piricornis, T. urbica and T. kostovi. Wing with the radial fork closer to the apex than the apex of CuA 2, with some variation. Alveoli in tergites II – VI randomly distributed or concentrated in the apical region. Owing to the wide variations in male genitalia at a specific level, it is not possible to identify many patterns for the genus. There is great variation in the shapes of the epandrium, cercus and gonostylus. Species with a projection at the apex of the cercus are usually acuminated. The gonostylus is little or highly sclerotized, and most species have an arm in the gonocoxite, which can vary in number, direction and shape. The hypandrium and gonocoxite are fused. Female: The head, antenna and wing are similar to those in males. Spermathecal ducts are sclerotized and annulated. Females of most species belonging to this genus have not been described, and given their diversity and lack of studies, the characteristics of female genitalia are not listed here for the present genus. Distribution: Worlwide distribution, with records in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Caribbean, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominican Republic, England, France, Germany, Greece, Hawaii, Hungary, Indonesia, Jamaica, Japan, Madagascar, Malaya, Mexico, Micronesia, The Netherlands, Norway, New Guinea, New Zealand, Panama, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Puerto Rico, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, Suriname, Sweden, the USA and Venezuela. Comments: T h e r e d u c t i o n o f s e g m e n t s i n the maxillary palp of Trichomyia is well illustrated in phylogeny. In Phlebotominae and Bruchomyiinae, the maxillary palp shows five segments. Reduction to four segments is observed in species of Psychodinae and Sycoracinae and in some species of Trichomyiinae, and reduction to three segments is observed only in species of Trichomyiinae (Bravo, 2000). Based on Psychodinae fossils, Azar & Nel (2003) proposed that there is a gradation between species from five to four palp segments, because they observed a weak groove in the segments of the palp, which probably resulted from the fusion of the two segments. The phylogeny of Trichomyiinae proposed here (Fig. 8) indicates sequential reduction from four to three segments in Trichomyia. First, segments one and two of the maxillary palp were partly fused, with the first segment overlapping the second one (17-1). GENUS GONDWANOTRICHOMYIA DUCKHOUSE, 1985, NEW STATUS Gondwanotrichomyia Duckhouse, 1985: 355 (as subgenus). Type species: Trichomyia nodosa Duckhouse, 1980, by original designation. Monophyly: Characters supporting the monophyly of the genus were as follows: radial fork at the same level as the apex of CuA 2 (43-1); median projection interconnecting the cerci oval and membranose (56- 1); hypoproct apex with a small sensory tip, darker than the rest of the structure and covered with microtrichia (71-1). Diagnosis: Antenna with first flagellomere twice the length of the second flagellomere; ascoid smaller than flagellomers and located in medioapical region; usually thin. Palpus with four segments; the first and second segments separated from each other. Sensilla absent in the first segment and present in the second segment but were not included in a sensorial pit. Wing with a radial fork at the same level as the apex of CuA 2. Male terminalia with cerci connected by a median projection on the inner face, except in G. capsulata, where they were probably lost secondarily, and the apex of the hypoproct with a sensory pit covered with microtrichia. Description: Male. Head subcircular and eyes without ocular bridge. Antennal socket with subquadrangular shape, with a distance of approximately the width of the antennal socket. Supraocular bristles absent, except for G. madsoni, which features a row. Occipital bristles interspersed, arranged in two rows. Three supracervical bristles. The dorsal border bounded by the postoccipital margin and a rectangular opistosomal suture. Labella globose and irregular, with a swollen apex. Palpus with four segments, not fused; the first segment without sensilla and the second with randomly distributed sensilla. Scape cylindrical, approximately the same size as the spherical pedicel. Ascoid smaller than flagellomere, arranged parallel and medioapical to it. The first flagellomere twice the length of the second flagellomere, with a pyriform shape and symmetrical insertion point. Scutum with seta alveoli distributed uniformly across the surface, and scutellum with alveoli concentrated in the apical region and some alveoli dispersed in the central region. Postnotum and katepisternum quadrangular. Anepimeron without bristles. Wing with the radial fork at the same height as the apex of CuA 2 and the medial fork closer to the base than the apex of CuA 2; base of M 2 and R 2 with microtrichia, sc-r without microtrichia, r-m present. Alveoli in tergites II – VI randomly distributed. Male genitalia with a median projection interconnecting the cerci on the inner face, tapered and sclerotized or oval and membranous. Cercus globose with digitiform apex, except in G. madsoni and G. chepuensis, in which it is cuneiform; cerci connected by a median projection on the inner face, except in G. capsulata, in which it is probably lost secondarily; some species present a circular expansion with long and thin bristles in the apical region of the cercus. Only G. madsoni bears rod-shaped bristles at the apex of the cercus. Epandrium rectangular in G. madsoni and G. kenricki or quadrangular in other species. Hypoproct with a truncated apex, with microtrichia and pit darker than the rest of the hypoproct. Gonostylus strongly sclerotized, located in the apical region of the gonocoxite, with thick and long bristles, usually piriform, except in G. capitanea and G. figuieroai, in which they are digitiform. Aedeagus convergent, with apex unfused. Hypandrium and gonocoxite fused, and post-hypandrial plate expanded and bifurcated. Female: Females of most species of the genus have been described and present similar characteristics to one another, mainly in terms of the genitalia; females were not analysed in the present work. For more information, see Duckhouse (1972, 1980). Distribution: Australia, New Zealand (Wellington), South Africa and southern South America (Argentina, Chile). Comments: Following the proposition of Trichomyia species Group A by Duckhouse (1965), all discussions were permeated by which species were included in this group and whether it is monophyletic. Large Trichomyia species from southern South America, South Africa and Australia were included in Group A, which was later formalized by Duckhouse (1985) as subgenus Trichomyia (Gondwanotrichomyia) and proposed as genus Gondwanotrichomyia. The inclusion of T. urbica in Group A (Duckhouse, 1965; Omelková & JeŽek, 2012) was not corroborated in this analysis (Fig. 8). Meanwhile, Omelková & JeŽek (2012) included T. carlestolrai from Spain and the Neotropical species of the subgenus Opisthotrichomyia in Group A; however, the authors do not provide arguments for the latter suggestion, which is not supported by the results of our cladogram (Fig. 8). TRICHOMYIA (BRACHIOTRICHOMYIA) BRAVO & ARAÚJO, 2013 Brachiotrichomyia Bravo & Araújo, 2013: 330. Type species: Trichomyia inermis Barretto, 1954, by original designation. Species included: Trichomyia armata Barretto, 1954; Trichomyia braziliensis Satchell, 1956; Trichomyia inermis Barretto, 1954; Trichomyia plumata Araújo & Bravo, 2013; Trichomyia pseudodactylis Quate, 1996; Trichomyia quatei Bravo, 2001; and Trichomyia risaraldensis Bejarano, 2009. Comments: Two synapomorphies allowed the recovery of Brachiotrichomyia: the basal starting point of the bifurcation of the aedeagus, close to the ejaculatory ducts (82-0), and feathered setae of the arm of gonocoxite. This subgenus was proposed by Bravo & Araújo (2013) to include some species, such as Opisthotrichomyia and Syntrichomyia, that present four segments on the palpus, with the first two partly fused. These species have gonocoxites projected dorsally and fused basally and an elongated arm with bristles lined on the inner margin. The gonostylus is C-shaped, but can be reduced in some species. The aedeagus is curved and fused at the apex, with an ovoid appearance. It includes species from Costa Rica, Colombia, Brazil and Panama. Material examined: Two male (BMNH) Panama, Canal Zone, Barro Colorado Island, 9°9ʹN, 79°51ʹW, 7 – 14 April 1993, J. Pickering leg. Comments: The description of the species does not mention the presence of the key diagnostic characteristic of the subgenus: bristles on tergite VII. However, Alexander et al. (2001) associated this characteristic with the species, albeit without a formal description of the structure or material analysed. Therefore, Araújo & Bravo (2012) did not include it in Septemtrichomyia until further observations were made. In material found at the Natural History Museum, London, and identified by Quate in 1998, tergite VII had highly sclerotized lateral lobes and a scar indicating the presence of elongated bristles. According to these observations, T. pedicillata must be included in Septemtrichomyia.
