The aim of this study is to investigate how amplifiers are used in Twitter (now called " X ") during election campaigns. Specifically, the main purpose is to identify the role and engagement of Twitter amplifiers in the 2019 European elections, the visibility of political parties and leaders, and the way in which automated tools are used to manipulate public opinion by influencing voting decisions. The countries considered in the study are two economic powers of Western Europe, France and Germany, as well as two countries of the European South, which are affected by the economic and financial crisis, Greece and Italy. The countries from Southern Europe were included in the sample as they are often used by mass media as political campaign tools. This paper emphasizes the Twitter platform through which the data collection was implemented using the official API of the social networking tool, focusing on the 2019 European elections. We collected data on 88 party leaders and MEP candidates between 10 May and 30 May 2019, as well as on 44,651 accounts that retweeted them. We concluded using 237,813 election-related tweets and used network theory to analyze and visualize the data. The results demonstrate that all political parties use amplifiers to promote their tweets, and some use the same amplifiers between different countries. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The amount of data related to cyber threats and cyber attack incidents is rapidly increasing. The extracted information can provide security analysts with useful Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) to enhance their decision-making. However, because the data sources are heterogeneous, there is a lack of common representation of information, rendering the analysis of CTI complicated. With this work, we aim to review ongoing research on the use of semantic web tools such as ontologies and Knowledge Graphs (KGs) within the CTI domain. Ontologies and KGs can effectively represent information in a common and structured schema, enhancing interoperability among the Security Operation Centers (SOCs) and the stakeholders on the field of cybersecurity. When fused with Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL) algorithms, the constructed ontologies and KGs can be augmented with new information and advanced inference capabilities, facilitating the discovery of previously unknown CTI. Abstract Background Various problems concerning the introduction of personal health records in everyday healthcare practice are reported to be associated with physicians’ unfamiliarity with systematic means of electronically collecting health information about their patients (e.g. electronic health records - EHRs). Such barriers may further prevent the role physicians have in their patient encounters and the influence they can have in accelerating and diffusing personal health records (PHRs) to the patient community. One way to address these problems is through medical education on PHRs in the context of EHR activities within the undergraduate medical curriculum and the medical informatics courses in specific. In this paper, the development of an educational PHR activity based on Google Health is reported. Moreover, student responses on PHR’s use and utility are collected and presented. The collected responses are then modelled to relate the satisfaction level of students in such a setting to the estimation about their attitude towards PHRs in the future. Methods The study was conducted by designing an educational scenario about PHRs, which consisted of student instruction on Google Health as a model PHR and followed the guidelines of a protocol that was constructed for this purpose. This scenario was applied to a sample of 338 first-year undergraduate medical students. A questionnaire was distributed to each one of them in order to obtain Likert-like scale data on the sample’s response with respect to the PHR that was used; the data were then further analysed descriptively and in terms of a regression analysis to model hypothesised correlations. Results Students displayed, in general, satisfaction about the core PHR functions they used and they were optimistic about using them in the future, as they evaluated quite high up the level of their utility. The aspect they valued most in the PHR was its main role as a record-keeping tool, while their main concern was related to the negative effect their own opinion might have on the use of PHRs by patients. Finally, the estimate of their future attitudes towards PHR integration was found positively dependent of the level of PHR satisfaction that they gained through their experience (rho = 0.524, p Conclusions The results indicate that students support PHRs as medical record keeping helpers and perceive them as beneficial to healthcare. They also underline the importance of achieving good educational experiences in improving PHR perspectives inside such educational activities. Further research is obviously needed to establish the relative long-term effect of education to other methods of exposing future physicians to PHRs.

Data journalism, as a new form of journalism, is gaining ever greater ground on newsrooms. Datasets and visualization applications have contributed to its bloom. Data and visualizations have a dominant role in the journalistic article, and their introduction affects the narration of the story, too. It is, also, considered by news organizations as a tool which provides information to users in meaningful ways and a part of the transition from being rather passive news-and-information sites to more news-and-information platforms. On data journalism projects we take into account the existence or absence of interactivity related to the visualizations and the amount of text that is included. The taxonomies of data journalism that have been proposed, take into account various parameters such as the content of the articles, the type of visualizations and the type of interactivity. In our research, we focus on a previously proposed taxonomy and we investigate how it applies to some of the most popular news organizations that develop online, data-driven, interactive news articles. By collecting data journalism articles, we try to check how visualization affects the story and the type of journalism interactivity. In particular, we examine the websites of The Guardian and The New York Times, which have been characterized as the "elite" of newsrooms, the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) and the Cable News Network (CNN), two of the most popular networks, and the Associated Press (AP) and Reuters, two of the largest news agencies.
