This research was motivated by the difficulties students face in understanding the material on cells. Specifically, 70% of the students' learning outcomes in cell material did not meet the Minimum Completeness Criteria, indicating a need for improvement in the learning process. To address this, innovative learning models were implemented. The study utilized a quasi-experimental design with a pretest and posttest control group design. The research sample was selected using purposive sampling techniques, resulting in two classes: Class XI MIPA 5 (Experimental Class) where the POGIL learning model was applied, and Class XI MIPA 6 (Control Class) where the conventional learning model was used. Data collection involved administering a test consisting of 20 multiple-choice questions. The mean scores for the control class were 37.91 and 67.63. Data analysis was conducted using the Paired Sample t-Test with SPSS Version 21 software. The results of the hypothesis testing revealed that the POGIL learning model had a significant effect on student learning outcomes in cell material for Class XI MIPA SMA N 12 Medan T.P. 2022/2023. The N-gain value for the experimental class was 0.71, falling within the high category, while the control class had an N-gain value of 0.46, categorizing it as medium. This indicates that the POGIL learning model had a greater impact on student learning outcomes in cell material for Class XI MIPA SMA N 12 Medan T.P. 2022/2023.

Talas merupakan tanaman yang banyak dikonsumsi umbinya oleh masyarakat indonesia. Selain umbinya yang dimanfaatkan sebagai makanan, daun talas dapat dijadikan sebagai alternatif obat untuk antibakteri. Kandungan metabolit sekunder yang dimiliki oleh daun talas mampu menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri patogen Escherichia coli dan Bacillus cereus. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalahdengan menggunakan esktrak daun talas yang dibagi keberbagai variasi konsentrasi. Ekstrak daun talas menggunakan pelarut etanol. Hasil menujukkan bahwa masing-masing konsentrasi menunjukkan kemampuan antibakteri dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri patogen. Konsentrasi terbaik dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri adalah 50mg/ml. Semakin tinggi konsentrasi esktrak daun talas yangdigunakan maka kemampuan dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri juga semakin besar.

The application of the new curriculum directs more scientific learning by applying the six task method. However, curriculum changes often have obstacles in their implementation. This study aims to analyze the learning environment in biology classes from the perspective of inquiry learning, as one of the most recommended science learning approaches. The research uses descriptive methods, with a population of 121 students from five environmental biology classes who have fully implemented the IQF curriculum. Samples taken by cluster random sampling method obtained two classes with a total of 46 students. Data obtained from questionnaires and learning outcomes documents. The results showed that biology learning activities had a level of conformity with inquiry learning in the "sufficient" category. Data shows that among the components of inquiry activity observed, questioning and hypothesizing are the lowest intensity activities. While communication activities have the highest intensity. It can be concluded that the learning of environmental biology still needs to be improved, especially in questioning and hypothesizing activities.

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui profil penelitian yang telah dilakukansebelumnyasebagai dasar mengembangkanroadmap prodi pendidikan biologiUnimed.Hasil penelitian menunjukan penelitian skripsi Prodi Pendidikan BiologiUnimed didominasi oleh penelitian tentang penerapan model/ metode pembelajaran(64%). Sebagian kecil diantaranya media pembelajaran, kurikulum, profesionalismeguru, dan beberapa tema lain. Sedangkan penelitian tentang asesmen belum pernahdilakukan. Diantara model-model dan metode-metode yang diteliti,mahasiswa palingbanyak melakukan penelitian tentang model/metode kooperatif. Analisis lebih lanjutmenunjukan bahwa model-model kooperatif yang selalu diteliti setiap tahun antara lainmodel Numbered Head Together (NHT), Jigsaw, Student Team Achievement Division(STAD), Think-Pair-Share (TPS), Teams Games Tournament (TGT), dan metodebermain peran. Roadmap penelitian yang akan dilakukan selanjutnya dikembangkandengan mengacu kepada: (1) capaian penelitian sebelumnya; (2) perkembangan iptekdan penelitian dalam keilmuan pendidikan biologi; (3) visi dan misi prodi sebagai arahpenelitian dalam kurun waktu tertentu. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, selanjutnyaditurunkan beberapa aspek terkaityang akan menjadi isu dalam merumuskanpermasalahan-permasalahan penelitian. Aspek tersebut adalah model pembelajaranberorientasi hakikat sains, asesmen, media pembelajaran, identifikasi miskonsepsi danstrategiremediasi.Kata Kunci: roadmap penelitian, skripsi, pendidikan biologi
