Abstract

In the Turkish Architectural History, Mimar Sinan has the most important place to define the landmarks. The Mosques, the bridges, the kulliyes(with a mosque in the heart of the kulliye as an extensive assembly of religious schools and buildings housing social functions), etc. of Mimar Sinan are coining today along a more than 400years period. The compositon of the full dome and semi domes is very important for the rich space value under. The additional structural elements for controlling the praying sound to God prepare a fully solved situation in the meaning of acoustical control. In the paper, after the definition of the complex in the meaning of history and in the meaning of space compositions, its structural system in the context of building materials and constructional details, the reasons of its acoustical performance and the degree of the efficiency of the daylight use will be explained.

9. Comparative phylogenic analyses of cave-And surface-water Ostracoda from northwest Anatolia based on mitochondrial CO-I

Abstract

The class Ostracoda comprises one of the most diverse taxonomic groups within the subphylum Crustacea. Because of their unique community structure, species diversity and richness, ostracods can be used as indicator species of changes in aquatic conditions. In this study the phylogenetic relationships of 16 individual ostracods were investigated. Mitochondrial CO-I genes of eight species, belonging to six genera, collected from surface and cave environments were analyzed. Phylogenetic relationships were calculated using Bayesian, Maximum Likelihood (ML), and Neighbour Joining (NJ) methods, and the topology of all calculations were consistent with each other in that they showed a close phylogenetic relationship and monophyletic clustering within and between most individual genera of Heterocypris, Candona, Psychrodromus. Cave samples did not show clear separation from surface samples. Cave and surface species of the genus Candona are placed as sister groups in Bayesian and NJ trees, but are paraphyletic in ML. Cave and surface samples of Ilyocypris bradyi are sister groups in NJ but paraphyletic in ML and Bayesian analyses. © British Cave Research Association 2016.

Abstract

A new series of flavonyl-3'-sulphonylurea derivatives (1-7) was prepared by reaction of several isocyanates with flavone-3'-sulphonamide (III). The prepared compounds were tested for their insulinotropic activities in INS-1 cells. Compounds 1 and 4 were able to increase insulin release in the presence of 8.3 mM glucose at least at the higher concentrations used.

Abstract

Unlabelled: The contribution of nitrergic tone on the contractility of colonic smooth muscle in Hirschsprung's disease (HD) was investigated., Methods: Ganglionic and aganglionic bowel specimens were taken from 8 patients with HD during pull-through operations and electrical field stimulation (EFS)-induced isometric contractions of the circular smooth muscle were recorded in vitro. Isolated circular muscle strips prepared from colonic segments of sex- and age-matched patients (n = 3) who underwent surgery for nonmotility-related colonic diseases formed the control group. Statistical analysis was performed by two way analysis of variance and unpaired Student's ttest., Results: The amplitude of spontaneous rhythmic activity was lower in aganglionic segments than in ganglionic ones. The amplitudes of contractile responses were significantly greater in aganglionic segments. In ganglionic preparations, N(omega)-nitro-L-arginine (L-NNA) addition into the medium increased the contractile responses to the level of aganglionic preparations. This increase was completely blocked by L-arginine application. Neither L-NNA nor L-arginine produced any change in aganglionic segments. A relaxation phase was detected in both ganglionic and aganglionic segments. In ganglionic preparations, this relaxation phase was completely inhibited by L-NNA and restored by L-arginine, whereas no effect was detected in aganglionic ones. Responses obtained from the control group were similar to the ganglionic segments of HD patients., Conclusions: In normal colon and as well as in ganglionic segments of HD, the evoked contractile activity and relaxations are under the tonic influence of the nitrergic system. Aganglionic segments totally lack the nitrergic activity in both evoked contraction and relaxation responses, while still maintaining an inefficient relaxation capacity under unknown mechanisms.
