Context. Until recently, camera networks designed for monitoring fireballs worldwide were not fully automated, implying that in case of a meteorite fall, the recovery campaign was rarely immediate. This was an important limiting factor as the most fragile - hence precious - meteorites must be recovered rapidly to avoid their alteration. Aims. The Fireball Recovery and InterPlanetary Observation Network (FRIPON) scientific project was designed to overcome this limitation. This network comprises a fully automated camera and radio network deployed over a significant fraction of western Europe and a small fraction of Canada. As of today, it consists of 150 cameras and 25 European radio receivers and covers an area of about 1.5 × 10km. Methods. The FRIPON network, fully operational since 2018, has been monitoring meteoroid entries since 2016, thereby allowing the characterization of their dynamical and physical properties. In addition, the level of automation of the network makes it possible to trigger a meteorite recovery campaign only a few hours after it reaches the surface of the Earth. Recovery campaigns are only organized for meteorites with final masses estimated of at least 500 g, which is about one event per year in France. No recovery campaign is organized in the case of smaller final masses on the order of 50 to 100 g, which happens about three times a year; instead, the information is delivered to the local media so that it can reach the inhabitants living in the vicinity of the fall. Results. Nearly 4000 meteoroids have been detected so far and characterized by FRIPON. The distribution of their orbits appears to be bimodal, with a cometary population and a main belt population. Sporadic meteors amount to about 55% of all meteors. A first estimate of the absolute meteoroid flux (mag < -5; meteoroid size ≥∼1 cm) amounts to 1250/yr/10km. This value is compatible with previous estimates. Finally, the first meteorite was recovered in Italy (Cavezzo, January 2020) thanks to the PRISMA network, a component of the FRIPON science project., FRIPON was initiated by funding from ANR (grant N.13- BS05-0009-03), carried by the Paris Observatory, Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle, Paris-Saclay University and Institut Pythéas (LAM-CEREGE). VigieCiel was part of the 65 Millions d’Observateurs project, carried by the Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle and funded by the French Investissements d’Avenir program. FRIPON data are hosted and processed at Institut Pythéas SIP (Service Informatique Pythéas), and a mirror is hosted at IMCCE (Institut de Mécanique Céleste et de Calcul des Éphémérides / Paris Observatory) with the help of IDOC (https://idoc.ias.u-psud.fr) (Integrated Data and Operation Center), supported by CNRS and CNES. PRISMA is the Italian Network for Systematic surveillance of Meteors and Atmosphere. It is a collaboration initiated and coordinated by the Italian National Institute for Astrophysics (INAF) that counts members among research institutes, associations and schools (http://www.prisma.inaf.it). PRISMA was partially funded by 2016 and 2020 Research and Education grants from Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Torino and by a 2016 grant from Fondazione Agostino De Mari (Savona). FRIPON-Bilbao is supported by a grant from Diputacion Foral Bizkaia (DFB/BFA). FRIPONMOROI was supported by a grant of the Romanian Ministery of Research and Innovation, CCCDI - UEFISCDI, project number PN-III-P1-1.2-PCCDI2017-0226/16PCCDI/2018 , within PNCDI III. Rio de Janeiro camera is hosted and partially maintained by MAST (Museum of Astronomy and Related Sciences)/MCTIC. The Meteorix project acknowledges supports from labex ESEP (Exploration Spatiale des Environnements Planétaires), DIM-ACAV+ Région Île-de-France, Janus CNES, IDEX Sorbonne Universités and Sorbonne Université.

We present a review of the fission cross section measurements made by the CENBG collaboration over the last years using the surrogate reaction method. For example the neutron-induced fission cross sections of 233Pa(T1/2 = 27 d), 242Cm(T1/2 d) and 243Cm(T1/2 y) have been obtained by our group with this technique. The advantages and the difficulties of the surrogate method are discussed. Special attention is paid to the comparison between cross sections measured with the surrogate method and those obtained directly with neutrons at low energies. This comparison provides information on possible differences between the spin-parity distributions achieved in the two methods.

Expérience GANIL E243b (décembre 2003), spectromètre LISE2000; A decay spectroscopic study of the neutron-rich isotopes, has been performed using fragmentation of a 86Kr primary beam. Fragments from this reaction have been selected by the LISE2000 spectrometer at the Grand Accélérateur National d'Ions Lourds (GANIL). Half-lives of 29 isotopes, including the first ones identified for 61Ti (15 ± 4 ms), 64V (19 ± 8 ms), and 71Fe (28 ± 5 ms), have been determined and compared with model predictions. 67,68Mn $\beta$ -delayed $\gamma$-rays were observed for the first time. The branching for the $\beta$ -delayed neutron emission was measured to be greater than 10(5)% in the 67Mn decay. The 67Fe isomeric level is firmly determined at higher energy than assigned in previous works. The excitation energies of the first (2+) and (4+) states of 68Fe are suggested to lie at 522(1)- and 1389(1)-keV, respectively, thus bringing confirmation of assignments based on in-beam $\gamma$-ray spectroscopy. Beyond mean-field calculations with the Gogny D1S force have been performed for even-mass nuclei through the Fe isotopic chain. Not only 68Fe but most of the neutron-rich Fe isotopes with neutron numbers below N = 50 are interpreted as soft rotors. The calculated mean occupancy of the neutron g9/2 and d5/2 orbitals in correlated ground states are steadily growing with increasing neutron number throughout the isotopic chain. Interpretation of 67Fe data is based upon present calculations for the 66Fe and 68Fe even cores.

A rotational band has been unambiguously observed in an odd-proton transfermium nucleus for the first time. An in-beam $\gamma$-ray spectroscopic study of $^251}_{101}$Md has been performed using the $\gamma$-ray array JUROGAM combined with the gas-filled separator RITU and the focal plane device GREAT. The experimental results, compared to Hartree-Fock-Bogolyubov calculations, lead to the interpretation that the rotational band is built on the [521]1/2^- Nilsson state.

GANIL Expérience; The reduced transition probabilities B(E2;0+\rightarrow 2+_1) of the neutron-rich 74Zn and 70Ni nuclei have been measured by Coulomb excitation in a 208Pb target at intermediate energy. These nuclei have been produced at Grand Accélérateur National d'Ions Lourds via interactions of a 60A MeV 76Ge beam with a Be target. The B(E2) value for 70Ni_42 is unexpectedly large, which indicates that neutrons added above N=40 strongly polarize the Z=28 proton core. In the Zn isotopic chain, the steep rise of B(E2) values beyond N=40 continues up to 74Zn 44. The enhanced proton core polarization in 70Ni is attributed to the monopole interaction between the neutron in the g_9/2 and protons in the f_7/2 and f_5/2 spin-orbit partner orbitals. This interaction could result in a weakening of magicity in 78Ni_50.

An island of isomers have recently been observed on both sides of the N=40 shell below the Ni isotopes. Isomeric states in the $^{65}$Fe and $^{67}$Fe allow the knowledge of the single particle structure around the $\nu$g_9/2$ shell. Moreover, the excitation energy of the first $2^+$ and $4^+$ states in the $^{68}$Fe have been established by $\beta$-$\gamma$ correlation. The evolution of the structure of the Fe isotopes going far away from the valley of stability is, for the first time, given for N>40

Matière Nucléaire - Commune avec NEX et ENL; International audience; Shape coexistence in the light krypton isotopes was studied in a series of experiments at GANIL using various experimental techniques. A new low-lying $0^+$ state, a so-called shape isomer, was found in delayed conversion-electron spectroscopy after fragmentation reactions. The systematics of such low-lying $0+^$ states suggests that the ground states of the isotopes $^{78}$Kr and $^{76}$Kr have prolate deformation, while states with prolate and oblate shape are practically degenerate and strongly mixed in $^{74}$Kr, and that the oblate configuration becomes the ground state in $^{72}$Kr. This scenario was tested in experiments performing low-energy Coulomb excitation of radioactive $^{76}$Kr and $^{74}$Kr beams from the SPIRAL facility. Both transitional and diagonal electromagnetic matrix elements were extracted from the observed $\gamma$-ray yields. The results find the prolate shape for the ground-state bands in $^{76}$Kr and $^{74}$Kr and an oblate deformation for the excited $2^{+}_{2}$ state in $^{74}$Kr, confirming the proposed scenario of shape coexistence

A rotational band has been observed in 251Md using RITU and the $\gamma$-ray spectrometerJurogam at the University of Jyvaskyla. Interpreted as having a 1/2-configuration, this is the first firmly established rotational band in an odd-Z transfermiumnucleus. In order to disentangle the single-particle structure, the $\alpha$ decayof 255Lr has been studied both at Jyvaskyla and at GANIL. From the preliminaryanalysis, we have observed for the first time the $\alpha$ decay fine structure of 251Mdand two excited states in 247Es. Four $\alpha$ lines from the 255Lr decay have beenobserved, originating from two initial states, which establishes the ordering of thelevels.

- Abstract
Two rotational bands have been found in the transfermium nuclei 251Md and 255Lr, the latter being the heaviest nucleus so far studied in-beam. Both are assigned to a [521]1/2-Nilsson state by comparison to theory. The experiments have been carried out in the Accelerator Laboratory of the University of Jyväskylä (JYFL), where the array of germanium detectors JUROGAM was used in conjunction with the recoil-seperator RITU and the focal-plane setup GREAT for gamma-spectroscopic studies., SCOPUS: cp.p, info:eu-repo/semantics/published

- Abstract
A rotational band has been unambiguously observed in an odd-proton transfermium nucleus for the first time. An in-beam γ-ray spectroscopic study of Md101251 has been performed using the γ-ray array JUROGAM combined with the gas-filled separator RITU and the focal plane device GREAT. The experimental results, compared to Hartree-Fock-Bogolyubov calculations, lead to the interpretation that the rotational band is built on the [521]1/2- Nilsson state. © 2007 The American Physical Society., SCOPUS: ar.j, info:eu-repo/semantics/published

- Abstract
The odd-Z isotope 255Lr, its daughter 251Md and grand-daughter 247Es were studied in two experiments performed at GANIL and the University of Jyväskylä. The 255Lr nuclei were produced using the cold fusion-evaporation reaction 209Bi( 48Ca, 2n)255Lr at a bombarding energy of 217MeV. The single-particle structure and decay properties were investigated using α, γ and electron spectroscopy. The ground-state spin and parity could be assigned for 255Lr (1/2-) and 251Md (7/2 -). States corresponding to the 7/2+[633], 7/2 -[514] and 1/2-[521] Nilsson orbitals were observed. Results are compared to experimental data obtained in neighbouring isotopes and to Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov calculations using the Skyrme interaction SLy4 and a density-dependent pairing interaction. The position of the 1/2-[521] orbital from the spherical 2f 5/2 shell is discussed. © Società Italiana di Fisica and Springer-Verlag 2006., SCOPUS: ar.j, info:eu-repo/semantics/published

- Abstract
The recoil-tagging technique has been employed to perform an in-beam gamma-ray spectroscopic study of the transfermium nucleus ²⁵⁴No. The experiment was carried out at the Department of Physics of the University of Jyväskylä and utilised the JUROGAM array of germanium detectors coupled to the gas-filled recoil separator RITU. The ground-state rotational band was extended and evidence for non-yrast states was observed for the first time.
