Adequate nutrition plays a large role in childhood development outcomes. Since eating disturbances such as picky eating, food neophobia, and food refusal could interfere with meeting nutritional requirements for successful development, our research seeks to identify factors associated with these eating behaviours. This scoping review will highlight the current studied factors that affect picky eating behaviours in children and potential gaps in the literature. Moreover, this review will guide our retrospective data analysis of eating habits in the All Our Families (AOF) cohort that is based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
