e12646 Background: Colorectal cancers (CRC) have become the 3rd most common cancer in Turkey with increasing incidence over the years. Studies investigating the clinical and biologic features of CRC Turkey are small retrospective case series providing limited information. We initiated a Turkish National CRC Registry program in October 2012 to define clinical and pathological variables of CRC. Methods: Pts presenting to medical oncology clinics were prospectively registered in 28 centers nationwide. Pt demographics and clinicopathological characteristics were recorded. Results: 6143 pts (mean age 58.2±12.3) were analyzed (57% males). Mean ages of males were higher (59 vs 57 yrs, p = 0.001). Adenocarcinoma was the most common histology (97.8%). Initial stages at diagnosis: I (5.4%), II (29.6%), III (33.8%) and IV (20.2%), unknown (9.8%). Primary malignant melanomas of uterine cervix are quite rarely seen neoplasms, and long-life prognosis of patients with this disease is poor. Immunohistochemical methods and exclusion of other primary melanoma sites are used to confirm the diagnosis. As with other melanomas, cervix malignant melanomas may also cause cardiac metastases. Cardiac metastases are among rarely seen but more commonly encountered cases, compared to primary cardiac tumors. Here, we present a case of biatrial cardiac metastases in a 73-year-old patient with uterine cervix malignant melanomas. The patient underwent echocardiography, cardiac magnetic resonance imaging, and computed tomography. Our report shows the importance of advanced diagnostic techniques, such as cardiac magnetic resonance, not only for the detection of cardiac masses, but for a better anatomic definition and tissue characterization. Although the cases of malignant melanomas leading to multiple cardiac metastasis were reported in literature, the metastatic concurrence of malignant melanomas in both right and left atriums is quite rarely encountered as metastatic malignant melanomas. Also, another intriguing point in our case is that the primary lesion of our case was stemmed from uterine cervix, but not skin.

Amaç: Bu makalenin amacı MEA (Mikrodalga Endometriyal Ablasyon) tekniği kullanılarak tedavisi gerçekleştirilen beş hasta ile ilgili bilgileri sunmak ve ablasyon tekniğindeki güncellemeleri ve diğer tekniklerle karşılaştırılmasını vurgulamaktır. Materyal ve Metot: MEA tekniğindeki temel özellik mikrodalga verici bir enstrüman ile uterus içi sıcaklık değerleri arttırılması ve hem mikrodalgaların hem de sıcaklığın ablasyon etkisinden faydalanılmasıdır. Bu yöntem anormal uterus kanaması olan hastaların tedavisinde kullanılmaktadır ve tedavi edilmek üzere seçilen beş hastanın hepsi MD Anderson Kanser Merkezi Jinekolojik Onkoloji Departmanının jinekolojik kanserler dışındaki kanser tanıları ile tedavi tedavi altına alınan hastalarıdır.Sonuçlar: MEA anormal uterus kanaması olan hastalarda kullanımı ve öğrenilmesi kolay, güvenli ve etkili bir tekniktir. Uygulanma süresi oldukça kısadır. Hastaların bir yıllık takiplerinde dört tanesinde amenore ve bir tanesinde oligomenore elde edilmiştir. Prosedürün uygulandığı sadece bir hasta ek tedaviye gerksinim duymuştur. Hastalara IV sedasyon yeterli olmuştur., Objective: This is a case series study is to provide information about Microwave Endometrial Ablation (MEA) affects on five patients who were subject to the relevant treatment in one year follow up. Materials and Methods: The main purpose in MEA treatment is to rise the temperature within the endomertial lining and to use both the microwaves and the temperature for ablation. This method is widely utilised for patients who developed abnormal uterine bleeding. Five patients that we observed within this study received treatment at MD Anderson Cancer Center Department of Gynecologic Oncology, who did not have any prior history of gynecological cancers. However they all had cancer diagnosis either breast cancer, leukemia or lymphoma.Results and Discussion: MEA is an effective and safe procedure for treatment of abnormal uterine bleeding. It is easily learned and can be performed rapidly even under IV sedation. In four out of the five patients, amenorrhea was achieved in one year follow-up. Only one patient, who had amenorrhea, required an additional treatment after MEA. Current ablation techniques seems to be reasonable as an option to do hysterectomies especially women going under for chemotherapy.
