This study is part of a research carried out by Cemagref aiming at optimizing air distribution systems into refrigerated vehicles in order to decrease temperature differences throughout the cargo. This paper reports on the influence of air layer between pallet and vehicle side walls on the velocity and temperature distribution. The experiments are carried out on a semi-trailor reduced scale-model built with a ratio 1/3,3. The numerical modelling of airflow is performed on Fluent CFD code. The predicted results show a good agreement with experimental data.; Ce travail s'inscrit dans le cadre d'une activité de recherche menée par le Cemagref visant à optimiser les systèmes de distribution d'air dans les véhicules frigorifiques afin de diminuer la dispersion de température au sein du chargement. Cette étude a pour objet l'étude de l'influence de la distance du chargement par rapport aux parois latérales du véhicule frigorifique sur les distributions de vitesse et de température. L'approche expérimentale est effectuée sur une maquette aéraulique réalisée à l'échelle 1/3,3 d'une semi-remorque. La modélisation numérique des écoulements est réalisée sur le logiciel Fluent. Les résultats du modèle présentent un bon accord qualitatif avec les données expérimentales.

Voici le cas d'une femme ayant presente en 1963 un syndrome cochleo-vestibulaire gauche deficitaire d'installation recente et rapide, avec un tres discret syndrome cerebelleux homolateral. Les examens neuro-radiologiques etablissent la presence fort probable d'un neurinome de l'acoustique a gauche. Au cours des trois annees qui suivirent, nous assistons a une regression des symptomes subjectifs et a la disparition complete de toute semeiologie neurologique. Quant a la paresie vestibulaire, elle manifeste elle aussi une nette regression. L'electrogustometrie revele une atteinte des fonctions sensorielles du VII'G. Les examens radiologiques repetes confirmerent neanmoins le diagnostic anterieurement etabli et la patiente est operee;on enleve en totalite par voie suboccipitale avec trepanation de la paroi posterieure du conduit auditif interne un neurinome de l'acoustique. Le facial est conserve. Il existe une paralysie faciale post-operatoire qui regresse par la suite. The authors report a case of a woman who presented in 1963 with a recent and rapid onset of a left-sided involvement of the eighth nerve (cochlear & vestibular), with a very well-marked homolateral cerebellar syndrome. Neuroradiological examination suggested strongly the probability of a left-sided acoustic neurinoma. In the course of the next three years there was a regression of the subjective symptoms and a complete disappearance of all neurological signs. The vestibular paralysis also showed a definite regression. Electrogustometry showed diminished function of the corda tympani. Nevertheless repeated X-ray examinations confirmed the diagnosis originally established and the patient was operated on. A complete removal of an acoustic neurinoma was carried out by the suboccipital route with removal also of the posterior wall of the internal auditory meatus. The facial nerve was preserved. There was a facial paralysis post-operatively which improved in due course. Se trata del caso de una mujer que, en 1963, presenta un sindrome deficitario cloqueo vestibular izquierdo de instauracion reciente y rapida con un sindrome cerebeloso homolateral muy discreto. Los examenes neuroradiologicos muestran la aparicion bastante probable de un neurinoma del acustico izquierdo. En el curso de los tres anos que siguen asistimos a una regresion de los sintomas subjetivos y a la desaparicion completa de toda semiologia neurologica. Respecto de la paresia vestibular tambien manifiesta una regresion lenta. La electrogustometria revela una afeccion de las funciones sensoriales del septimo par. Los examenes radiologicos repetidos confirman sin embargo, el diagnostico esta anteriormente establecido y la paciente es operada extirpandose totalmente un neurinoma del acustico por via suboccipital con trepanacion de la pared posterior del conducto auditivo interno. El facial resta intacto. Se presenta una paralisis facial postoperatoria que regresa al poco tiempo.

In order to study the changes of consciousness associated with lesions of the posterior fossa it is necessary to define consciousness so that we may be ready to recognise the different mechanisms which may affect it. Many authors have attempted definition. We believe that the following proposition may be satisfactory: consciousness is a state which allows us to react at every moment to exteroceptive and proprioceptive stimuli and to know their respective values; this implies both vigilance and the confrontation with more or less precise memories. As G. Jefferson wrote, there are “two extreme meanings, the psychological and the physiological”.
