COVID-19 pandemic , *ENERGY levels (Quantum mechanics) , *PHYSICAL activity , *WELL-being , *SOCIAL isolation - Abstract
Preventive measures of social isolation implemented in response to the COVID-19 pandemic have led to decreased levels of physical activity and well-being. This study (n = 308) analyzed the relationship between weekly energy expenditure levels (METs; International Physical Activity Questionnaire, IPAQ) and well-being (Pemberton Happiness Index, PHI). The physical space where the action was performed and the person/s with whom it was done moderate the positive relationship between physical activity levels and well-being. Individuals who were active outdoors and did physical activity with others reported greater well-being. The findings highlight the importance of engaging in physical activity in natural spaces and with other people. This is especially important in pandemic contexts, where people are often isolated from others. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Introduction. Conclusion. PRIMARY school teachers , *HAPPINESS , *TEACHERS , *CONCRETE - Abstract
in the context of a French school in crisis, the article defends a strong idea: the professional exercise, as degraded and dented as it may be, can only « hold » if there is a link between the teacher and his job that goes far beyond the contingencies of daily work. It is this link, which remains despite everything, that we will identify as the « happiness of the profession » of the primary school teacher. The problematization mobilizes the reflections of Kant and Osty to circumscribe the object by positioning happiness on the side of the profession (and not on the side of the work done). It is extended by a theorization of the « happiness of the profession », which relies on Freire and Jullien to define it as a potentiality, an inaccessible promise. It is then operationalized by the research on similar notions in the case of teachers, which is translated into the methodological choice of a questionnaire. The questionnaire was administered by the networks and included a quantitative component (an assessment of the potential of 45 concrete situations for « job happiness ») and a qualitative component (an open and spontaneous definition written by the respondents). The results of the survey develop the 10 components of « job happiness » (quantitative approach) (quantitative approach) and the triptych of the definition of this happiness (qualitative approach). - Abstract
Finding happiness in the chaos is one of the hardest things you can do. It's also one of the most important. Covid, financial insecurity, political division, social unrest, gun violence, climate fears--they've created a chaotic reality that we will be dealing with for years to come. Even long after some of these challenges start to lose their headlines and prime-time news slots, they will continue to occupy space in our minds, keeping us anxious, depressed, and angry, and ultimately keeping us from becoming our happiest selves. But maybe it doesn't have to be that way. Chaotic Happiness challenges the notion that happiness belongs only to those who can escape these tragedies. “Chaotic Happiness” is the idea that happiness comes from being able to confront the chaos, not run from it. This book serves as a guide for anyone who's willing to wage their battle to fight for happiness. In it, licensed therapist and mental health TikToker T.J. Hoegh outlines the Three Rules for Chaotic Happiness: - Find Yourself- Find Your People- Find Your Purpose Through a combination of self-help advice and exercises, you'll embark on your own journey to discovering “Chaotic Happiness” for yourself and develop skills that will help you hold onto it. You'll learn how to explore your own psyche, improve the quality of your relationships, and understand the impact of the outside world. By working through this evidence-based collection of interventions you'll have all the tools you need to combat the chaotic world and arrive at your happiest self.

'Thought-provoking, insightful, full of practical tidbits, and a fun read.'--Dr. Leah Katz, psychologist and author of Gutsy: Mindfulness Practices for Everyday BraveryWhen people find out she is a therapist, Niro Feliciano knows she isn't going anywhere anytime soon. At soccer games, at cocktail parties, in waiting rooms, people corner her and ask: Why am I so stressed? Is the way I feel normal? Why can't I just be happy? The truth is happiness is fleeting, and we are stressing ourselves out trying to achieve it. In This Book Won't Make You Happy, national media commentator and Psychology Today columnist Feliciano offers a path to something much more achievable and abundantly more satisfying: contentment.By incorporating eight simple postures rooted in cognitive behavioral science and mindfulness practices into our daily routines, we can move away from anxiety and toward balance and calm. Acceptance, gratitude, connection, a present-focused perspective, intentionality and priority, self-compassion, resilience, and faith: through these practices we will overcome obstacles that hold us back from living full, meaningful, contented lives.Anxiety, stress, and grief aren't going away anytime soon, and this book won't make you happy. But with wit and empathy, Feliciano leads you right past happy to calm. No matter how'happy'your life is--or isn't--you can reach a deeper, truer, and longer-lasting place of contentment.

This theoretical essay deals with the imperative of happiness in contemporary times, contemplating the current historical moment of the pandemic crisis. Therefore, the interface between psychology and other areas of knowledge, such as social sciences, philosophy, and psychoanalysis, is sought for the necessary intelligibility to apprehend the study. Initially, we intended to carry out a brief review of the conceptions of happiness throughout history, reflecting on how cultural transformations allowed happiness to be shifted from the field of dreams to the duty one. Subsequently, it is proposed to address the place that happiness, transformed into an imperative, occupies in contemporary times, crossed by the neoliberal capitalist discourse and through the arguments of the consumption and performance society. Finally, it is suggested that contemporary social cartography, under the aegis of neoliberalism and its reflections on culture, focuses on subjectivation processes in the form of illness. - Abstract
A post-coronavirus evolution-based how-to for putting living ahead of work.Bestselling author Frank Schaeffer offers a passionate political, social, and lifestyle “blueprint” for changes millions of us know are needed to rebalance our work lives with thriving relationships: Fall in Love, Have Children, Stay Put, Save the Planet, Be Happy. Even before everything was disrupted by COVID-19 (not to mention by Trump), millions of Americans were already questioning capitalism's “values.” We were already challenging the idea that your job defines you. We already knew something was wrong. Loneliness, frustration, and alienation were already on the rise. Even the most successful of us felt too busy, too preoccupied, and too distracted to enjoy what we intuitively know are life's greatest rewards: vibrant relationships, family life, connection to others, involvement in our community, and the thrilling experience of love. Fall in Love... builds a well-researched and entertaining bridge to living happier lives and to a better future. It shows us that based on a better understanding of our evolutionary selves, we can thrive in family life and in our work life, too. But to do both joyfully—and at the same time—depends on rediscovering the priority of relationships, connections, community, and love.

Happiness swing between free will and divine providence in the novel '' Zadig or destiny '' of Voltaire ''Zadig or destiny '' is un oriental tale with Arabic names that stimulates the curiosity of orientalists who dine to discover those lands. The story is sequenced in twenty-one episodes that combine interest and pleasure. An impetus of endless amazing adventures that breed from each other like Russian dolls until they reach their ultimate goal that hero aspires to be happiness. Zadig has all the reasons for that, but his wealth, youth, handsomeness, and wit are powerless without the blessing of fate. Here lies the axis around which the episodes of the novel revolve. And the truth is that Voltaire took the risk of addressing the most complex philosophical questions ever. The subject includes many concepts as much as the number of creations on the surface of the universe, and worse than that is the absence of a common denominator between them. With the passage of time and the complexity of life and its interwining, the balance of this novel increases in the eges of those who cling to it as a palliative treatment. Moreover, '' Zadig or destiny'' transcends the boundaries of literature in order to enter the fields of philosophy, theology, sociology, as well as the science of morality and politics. But Voltaire, thanks to his art, and knowledge, was able to fly over it with ease and peace. The events of the novel revolve around three theaters, he events of the novel revolve around three theaters, starting with Babylon then Egypt, and ending with the Arabian Peninsula. Zadig endured various colors of torment and deceit from some ignorant people tried to betray him so that he would go to him, he was higher and loftier than those despicable and foolish behaviors, so he deals with his opponents with kindness and humanity the physician who cured their diseases without harming them. So, fate did justice to him, and heaven smiled at him, giving him the throne of Babylon, and the union with her venerable queen Astarta, whom he loved sincerely. Voltaire has declared his belief in one God who runs the universe wisely and justly. This infinite capacity which is beyond our perception controls humans' destiny. Besides, he perceives the relativity of free will and what is anticipated as a mere chance is not so. It is the verdict of Divine justice. The protagonist knew that the presence of evil is not free of charge, but sometimes it becomes a source of good. Finally, the tale of Honest or Fate is a serious message to get access to happiness and relief. The paper is divided into five subtopics: The east viewed by Voltaire. Modernity of topics of Voltaire. Search for happiness. Learning and educational adventures. Individual freedom and divine justice. Topic unity analysis was followed in doing the present paper.

Le Fil de soie (The Silk Thread) by Michèle Gazier is an ambitious work, conceived in a fairy-like as well as fantastic style, while maintaining a real framework. Against the backdrop of haute couture history, the mystery of a love story unfolds in a variation on the myth of Narcissus while providing an intriguing tale. Gazier questions the fragility and discontinuity of happiness. The story is developed through "images" and words presented in a magical environment. I would like to question here the way in which Gazier explores and sets the course for the happiness of an exceptional couple. In other words, I will question the relationship between the story and the original way in which the ideas of happiness are treated. Focusing on the representation of happiness as it is constructed in this novel engages a double questioning: first of all, how stylistically, the fantastic characteristics as they are inscribed in the story reveal by writing, aspects of expressing happiness? Then, on the diegetic level, I will interrogate how an identity is built without borders, erasing the differences between two beings who love each other. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The aim of this systematic literature review is to show the influence of food on perceived happiness, especially its positive influence in order to improve and contribute to well-being. A systematic literature review was realized from the search equation "diet and happiness" in data base PyscInfo, PubMed and ScienceDirect, in order to identify English articles for the period 2015–2020. A total of 21 articles were selected. Results have shown that a healthy and a balanced diet promotes people's well-being, or even improve the quality of life of people who can suffer from various pathologies. The foods considered to be the most related to the state of happiness are fruits and vegetables as well as the frequency of breakfast. The main results show a positive correlation between healthy food and well-being, which contributes to happiness. By emphasizing the contribution of food to improving people's happiness, this research is an additional argument for integrating this dimension in the field of patient care. An integration of food in the field of psychology and mode generally among all health professionals would allow these disciplines to be part of an innovative interdisciplinary concept whose purpose would be the wellness of patients.

Are happiness and the workplace incompatible ? Thought as a place of self-realization and as a sphere of suffering, this key space of our contemporary societies is debated. The novel, along with other fields, questions this relationship to work through the intimate experience of company employees. While this issue colours fiction with a philosophical hue, it’s even more at the service of political reflection on the recent socio-economic and ideological changes in the world of business. Unemployment, speculation and vocational retraining: these three professional situations are sources of involvement for the writer. They allow him to exploit the psychological resources of the novel by reflecting on the effects of neoliberalism.

This essay aims to analyze the poetics of the soundscape in Albert Camus' work, based in the notions of happiness and unhappiness. Our purpose will be to define the characteristics of the symbolism of auditory perception, which are elaborated on the double configuration between happiness and unhappiness. The fact that the symbolic universe of Camus outlines a total sensory experience does no longer need to be demonstrated. Starting from his first lyrical writings to the Notebooks, his writing appeals arouses all the senses. Through a comparative study of examples relating to happiness and unhappiness and while underlining the predominant place of silence in Camus' aesthetics, we will come off to the conclusion that Camus's work constitutes a real kind of field recording. This study investigates the link between social relationship and subjective well-being in the context of social stratification. The authors examine how perceived quality of social relationships and subjective social class are linked to self-reported happiness among men and women in South Korea. The study finds that one's perception of relative social standing is positively associated with happiness independently of objective indicators of socioeconomic status, while social relationship quality strongly predicts the happiness among both men and women. However, the mediation pathway and moderating effects vary by gender. For men, the nexus between subjective social class and happiness is partially mediated by the quality of interpersonal relationships. No similar mediating effect is found among women. The study also finds gender difference in whether the link between social relationship quality and happiness varies by subjective social class. The happiness return to positive social relationships increases as men's subjective social status becomes higher, which is consistent with the resource multiplication hypothesis. No similar moderation effect is found among women. Combined, these results reveal potentially different pathways to happiness across gender in Korea, where social status competition, collectivistic culture, and patriarchal gender relations are salient in daily life. POLITICAL philosophy , *REALISM , *IDEALISM , *PHILOSOPHY , *PHILOSOPHERS - Abstract
