This research presents a conceptual analysis of the term «dignity», especially in its application in the context of perinatal loss issues, where it must be a moral guide for the necessary practices to address the problem. These practices can also be regulated by laws and professional guidance, so three laws in force in Argentina, Chile, and Colombia, as well as three Spanish professional action guides for these cases, are presented and analyzed. Based on all this, some conclusions are proposed. Objectives. Determine the moral obligations that arise from the principle of respect for human dignity in the field of professional practice of perinatal loss. Show the relationship that exists between the concepts of dignity, autonomy, integrity (physical and moral) and inviolability. Analyze and disclose the legal obligations established in some countries. Make known some existing professional practice guides in Spain on this subject. Material and method. Bibliographic search, analysis and hermeneutics of philosophical, legal, and professional deontological texts related to issues to perinatal loss. Conclusions. Guidelines on the best ways of professional action in situations of perinatal loss.

AbstractIn assisted ambulation, the user’s psychological comfort has a significant impact not only on acceptability of mobility aids but also on overall gait performance. Specifically, in the case of rollators, negative states such as distress may result in balance loss, inefficient manoeuvres, and an increased risk of falling. This paper presents a pilot study to investigate the effect of distress on rollator assisted navigation. To achieve this goal, a novel test protocol is proposed to assess distress while walking with a rollator, using the Self-Assessment Manikin (SAM) questionnaire. First, the participant completes a standardised visual stress induction test and fills in a SAM questionnaire on the dimensions of arousal and valence, to establish personal benchmarks. Then, they complete a course consisting of four navigation tasks with different levels of difficulty that affect the rollator manoeuvrability, filling in a SAM questionnaire after each task. An experiment including 25 healthy volunteers has been completed. Our preliminary results show that stressors like uneven or sloping surfaces increase perceived stress, whereas the shape of the trajectory does not significantly affect stress. The ultimate purpose of this work is to validate a performance-oriented protocol to investigate the dynamics of stress response in assisted walk and to train automatic stress detection systems.

The challenge of long-term interaction between humans and robots is still a bottleneck in service robot research. To gain an understanding of sustained relatedness with robots, this study proposes a conceptual framework for bond formation. More specifically, it addresses the dynamics of children bonding with robotic pets as the basis for certain services in healthcare and education. The framework presented herein offers an integrative approach and draws from theoretical models and empirical research in Human Robot Interaction and also from related disciplines that investigate lasting relationships, such as human-animal affiliation and attachment to everyday objects. The research question is how children's relatedness to personified technologies occurs and evolves and what underpinning processes are involved. The subfield of research is child-robot interaction, within the boundaries of social psychology, where the robot is viewed as a social agent, and human-system interaction, where the robot is regarded as an artificial entity. The proposed framework envisions bonding with pet-robots as a socio-affective process towards lasting connectedness and emotional involvement that evolves through three stages: first encounter, short-term interaction and lasting relationship. The stages are characterized by children's behaviors, cognitions and feelings that can be identified, measured and, maybe more importantly, managed. This model aims to integrate fragmentary and heterogeneous knowledge into a new perspective on the impact of robots in close and enduring proximity to children., Author(s): Marta Díaz-Boladeras [sup.1] [sup.2] Author Affiliations: (1) Technical Research Centre for Dependency Care and Autonomous Living (CETpD), , Rambla Exposició, 59., 08800, Vilanova i la Geltrú, Spain (2) grid.6835.8, [...]

The anonymity of gamete donation is the subject of harsh criticism from the people born by assisted reproduction techniques (ART) with donor gametes or embryos, both in Spain and in other countries. The text provides information on this situation and on the various laws in different countries, as well as the ethical orientation of the principles to be respected. Many countries have legislated for years on the non-anonymity of ART donors and the Council of Europe approved a recommendation in 2019 advising to follow this model. goal. Background: Salvage radiotherapy (SRT) and androgen‐deprivation therapy (ADT) are widely used in routine clinical practice to treat patients with prostate cancer who develop biochemical recurrence (BCR) after radical prostatectomy (RP). However, there is no standard‐of‐care consensus on optimal duration ADT. Investigators propose three distinct risk groups in patients with prostate cancer treated with SRT in order to better define the indications and duration of ADT combined with SRT. Study design: The URONCOR 06‐24 trial (ClinicalTrials.gov identifier NCT05781217) is a prospective, multicentre, randomised, open‐label, phase III, clinical trial. The aim of the trial is to determine the impact of short‐term (6 months) vs long‐term (24 months) ADT in combination with SRT on distant metastasis‐free survival (MFS) in patients with prostate cancer with BCR after RP (intermediate and high risk). Endpoints: The primary endpoint is 5‐year MFS rates in patients with prostate cancer treated with long‐ vs short‐term ADT in combination with SRT. Secondary objectives are biochemical‐relapse free interval, pelvic progression‐free survival, time to start of systemic treatment, time to castration resistance, cancer‐specific survival, overall survival, acute and late toxicity, and quality of life. Methods and analysis: Total of 534 patients will be randomised 1:1 to ADT 6 months or ADT 24 months with a luteinizing hormone‐releasing hormone analogue in combination with SRT, stratified by risk group and pathological lymph node status. Ethics and dissemination: The study is conducted under the guiding principles of the World Medical Association Declaration of Helsinki. The results will be disseminated at research conferences and in peer‐reviewed journals. Trial registration number: EudraCT number 2021‐006975‐41. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract To assess adherence to standard clinical practice for the diagnosis and treatment of patients undergoing prostate cancer (PCa) radiotherapy in four European countries using clinical audits as part of the international IROCA project. Multi-institutional, retrospective cohort study of 240 randomly-selected patients treated for PCa (n = 40/centre) in the year 2015 at six European hospitals. Clinical indicators applicable to general and PCa-specific radiotherapy processes were evaluated. All data were obtained directly from medical records. The audits were performed in the year 2017. Adherence to clinical protocols and practices was satisfactory, but with substantial inter-centre variability in numerous variables, as follows: staging MRI (range 27.5–87.5% of cases); presentation to multidisciplinary tumour board (2.5–100%); time elapsed between initial visit to the radiation oncology department and treatment initiation (42–102.5 days); number of treatment interruptions ≥ 1 day (7.5–97.5%). The most common deviation from standard clinical practice was inconsistent data registration, mainly failure to report data related to diagnosis, treatment, and/or adverse events. This clinical audit detected substantial inter-centre variability in adherence to standard clinical practice, most notably inconsistent record keeping. These findings confirm the value of performing clinical audits to detect deviations from standard clinical practices and procedures.

Reminding is often identified as a central function of socially assistive robots in the healthcare sector. The robotic reminders are supposed to help people with memory impairments to remember to take their medicine, to drink and eat, or to attend appointments. Such standalone reminding technologies can, however, be too demanding for people with memory injuries. In a co-creation process, we developed an individual reminder robot together with a person with traumatic brain injury and her care personnel. During this process, we learned that while current research describe reminding as a prototypical task for socially assistive robots, there is no clear definition of what constitutes a reminder nor that it is based on complex sequences of interactions that evolve over time and space, across different actions, actors and technologies. Based on our data from the co-creation process and the first deployment, we argue for a shift towards a sequential and socially distributed character of reminding. Understanding socially assistive robots as rehabilitative tools for people with memory impairment, they need to be reconsidered as interconnected elements in institutional care practices instead of isolated events for the remindee. Objectives: To expose the violence exerted by institutions when they fail to fulfill their obligation to enforce the rights of citizens. Materials and methods: This research is based, on the one hand, on the analysis of the concepts of structural or institutional violence and cultural or symbolic violence as developed by several authors and, on the other hand, on the revision of some of its sociological, legal and ethical manifestations, such as impunity, moral damage and its detection in healthcare. Development: Considerations on the violence suffered by women in the judicial system (in relation to impunity and the low recognition of moral damages) and in the field of healthcare. This type of violence is invisible and protected by certain institutional and symbolic structures. Conclusions: A proposal of research and social actions to expose and eradicate the institutional and symbolic bases of certain types of violence.

Rollators are widely used in clinical rehabilitation for gait assessment, but gait analysis usually requires a great deal of expertise and focus from medical staff. Smart rollators can capture gait parameters autonomously while avoiding complex setups. However, commercial smart rollators, as closed systems, can not be modified; plus, they are often expensive and not widely available. This work presents a low cost open-source modular rollator for monitorization of gait parameters and support. The whole system is based on commercial components and its software architecture runs over ROS2 to allow further customization and expansion. This paper describes the overall software and hardware architecture and, as an example of extended capabilities, modules for monitoring dynamic partial weight bearing and for estimation of spatiotemporal gait parameters of clinical interest. All presented tests are coherent from a clinical point of view and consistent with input data.

Background: The therapeutic approach to cancer is complex and multidisciplinary. Radiotherapy is among the essential treatments, whether used alone or in conjunction with other therapies. This study reports a clinical audit of the radiotherapy process to assess the process of care, evaluate adherence to agreed protocols and measure the variability to improve therapeutic quality for rectal cancer. Methods: Multicentre retrospective cohort study in a representative sample of patients diagnosed with rectal cancer in the Institut Català d’Oncologia, a comprehensive cancer centre with three different settings. We developed a set of indicators to assess the key areas of the radiotherapy process. The clinical audit consisted of a review of a random sample of 40 clinical histories for each centre. Results: The demographic profile, histology and staging of patients were similar between centres. The MRI reports did not include the distance from tumour to mesorectal fascia (rCRM) in 38.3% of the cases. 96.7% of patients received the planned dose, and 57.4% received it at the planned time. Surgery followed neoadjuvant treatment in 96.7% of the patients. Among this group, postoperative CRM was recorded in 65.5% of the cases and was negative in 93.4% of these. With regard to the 34.5% (n = 40) of cases where no CRM value was stated, there were differences between the centres. Mean follow-up was 3.4 (SD 0.6) years, and overall survival at four years was 81.7%. Conclusions: The audit revealed a suboptimal degree of adherence to clinical practice guidelines. Significant variability between centres exists from a clinical perspective but especially with regard to organization and process.

The research question is how children’s relatedness to personified technologies occurs and evolves and what underpinning processes are involved. The stages are characterized by children’s behaviors, cognitions and feelings that can be identified, measured and, maybe more importantly, managed. This model aims to integrate fragmentary and heterogeneous knowledge into a new perspective on the impact of robots in close and enduring proximity to children.

- Abstract
In assisted ambulation, the user’s psychological comfort has a significant impact not only on acceptability of mobility aids but also on overall gait performance. The ultimate purpose of this work is to validate a performance-oriented protocol to investigate the dynamics of stress response in assisted walk and to train automatic stress detection systems., The work was supported by the Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación [RTI2018-096701-B-C22]; Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades [RTI2018-096701-B-C21 (SAVIA:]; Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades [RTI2018-096701-B-C21]; Universidad de Málaga [E3-PROYECTOS DE PRUEBA DE CONCEPTO (E3/02/18)]., Peer Reviewed, Postprint (published version)

- Abstract
The main point and reason of the project is the use of the methodology of Design Thinking and User-Centered Design, project resolution tools that allow focusing and giving special importance to empathizing with users and satisfying their needs. The main objective of the project is to make a design proposal, following the Design Thinking methodology, in order to improve the user experience when developind motor skills in childhood evolution. To achieve the goal mentioned before, User Centered Design has been applied to find the needs required, with techniques such as: the journey map, the empathy map or the storyboard. These are techniques that make it possible to put yourself in the user’s skin and learn more about the problem, from the point of view of the users and their needs. Considering diferent interest groups, to select the target user and define their characteristics in a concrete and more precise way. This concludes in a selection of early childhood as a stage, from 0 to 3 years, as the main interest group. The parents of the children have also been considered as part of the process and another interest group with special importance. Through a first stage based on research, empathizing and starting to know the users needs, some design requirements have been defined. These requirements, form a list of conditions to follow with all the features and concepts detected, in order to create a complete and grateful experience. The result of the project is a new proposal for the design of a product that stimulates / rehabilitates the independent mobility at the childhood stage. That device is designed to be used both by children who suffer from a delay in the consolidation of motor skills, and by children without this pathology and who want to stimulate it by making use of a preventive treatment. The result has been satisfactory, the product and its use and assembly experience have been designed successfully, making the final proposal a way to satisfy the needs.

- Abstract
It is certainly known that education is a reflection of our society. A society that moves fast regarding technology. For this reason, schools must educate on this technological knowledge. According to what has been mentioned, from TOC, they proposed to develop an educative project based on an aeroponic vegetable patch. The main goal of this project is to improve the didactic and pedagogical experience of the students due to the introduction of the aeroponic vegetable patch in the school context. The aim is to design a project that can be applied in the different cycles of compulsory education. To develop the project, several tools have been used such as Design Thinking and the Design Centered on the User, as it is the technique of the Journey Map or the Empathy map. The use of these methodologies have helped to define the different phases of the project, at the same time to understand the behavior, needs, and limitations of the target group who will develop the educative project. In the first place, there has been theoretical research on aeroponic systems, furthermore, on Project Based Learning. Mainly the STEAM methodology and the assessment criteria. In addition, TOC bought three aeroponic vegetable patches that have been used to carry out a study on opposite engineering. From here, several pieces of data have been pulled out to begin the design of the educational project. Moreover, apply technological improvements that will be introduced in the program as learning units. Thanks to the techniques of the Design Centered on the User it has been possible to find out the harmful points and the limitations that could be found during the development of the project. Once the project has been developed, an intervention on a real case has been done. More specifically in Morsell school. In this case, it has been proved the success of the project, thus, assessing the level of satisfaction and the learning of the students. The most relevant results in this study have been to

- Abstract
Robot-based activities have been proven to be a valuable tool for children with learning and developmental disabilities. However, their feasibility in general educational environments needs further exploration. This scoping review provides a critical examination of robot-based learning experiences involving children with disabilities, implemented either in mainstream schools or in specialized centers in order to gain insight into their potential to support inclusion. For this purpose, a search was conducted in the multidisciplinary Scopus and WoS databases, completed with Dialnet database. Based on PRISMA guidelines for literature reviews, we limited the systematic analysis to 33 papers published after 2009 that contain information on the instructional design and details of how the activities were implemented. On the other hand, studies reporting interventions with robots for clinical purposes were excluded as well as papers focused exclusively on technical developments. Content analysis shows that most experiences lead to improvements in terms of educational goals and/or stakeholders’ satisfaction. However, the analysis also reported issues that may hinder the adoption of these practices in general classrooms and integrated education services. The reported difficulties include the lack of stability and autonomy of the robots used, the need for aids and adaptations to enable children with sensory and physical impairments to interact easily with the robots, and the requirement of technical support with system’s setup, implementation and maintenance. We conclude that robots and robotics are a powerful tool to address the needs of diverse learners who are included in mainstream classrooms. This review aims at presenting evidences of good practices and recommendations for successful implementation., Open Access funding provided thanks to the CRUE-CSIC agreement with Springer Nature. - Abstract
Nuestra propuesta cumple los requisitos marcados., Design Thinking and UX Design, user-centered design, are tools for creative problem solving with people's empathy as the central axis. This concept is the base of the project. Many tents can now be found on the market with very different characteristics that make them stand out from others, whether for the price, ease of assembly, or other characteristics of the physical tent. The main objective of this work is to make a final design proposal based on Design Thinking in order to give the user a better experience while camping. To achieve this purpose, we have applied the User-centred Design methodology in order to detect their needs by using techniques such as an empathy map, storyboard, or journey map. These techniques make it possible to put yourself in the user's skin and keep that in mind when designing. First of all, the target user to whom the product is directed has been selected: young people aged between 18 and 30. To be able to make a more accurate study, different techniques of inquiry and information synthesis have been used. The study and analysis of the current market have helped to find out which products the main brands offer and, also, to detect and compare the weaknesses of these existing products. The result of this project is a new proposal for the design of a tent for young people with little budget but an eagerness to travel and enjoy nature and outdoor events. The solution has been validated based on the list of identified requirements from the user's research phase. Our proposal meets the requirements set.
