Abstract

Transient hyperphosphatemia is a rare benign condition in children characterized by elevated serum alkaline phosphatase levels in infancy and childhood without metabolic bone or liver disease. As it can occur with many different conditions, temporary hyperphosphatasia can be seen especially in gastrointestinal, ear, urinary and respiratory tract infections. It is believed to be triggered by a viral infectious disease. It is important to raise the awareness of clinicians on this issue in terms of facilitating the diagnosis and not requiring additional research. Here, a case of transient hyperphosphatasemia with acute bronchiolitis caused by human bocavirus infection is presented. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Bu çalışmada düşük karbonlu (% 0,05-0,18 C) çelik yüzey temizleme granüllerininmekanik ve mikroyapı özelliklerinin incelenmesi hedeflenmiştir. Bu amaca yönelikolarak farklı bileşimlerde karbon, manganez ve silisyum içeren düşük karbonlu çelikgranül numunelerinin fiziksel özelliklerini belirlemek için yoğunluk tayini, kimyasalözelliklerini belirlemek amacıyla spektral analiz, mekanik özellikleri belirlemekamacıyla aşınma dayanımı testi ve mikrosertlik ölçümleri, mikroyapı özelliklerinibelirlemek amacıyla optik mikroskop çalışması yapılmıştır.Deneysel çalışmalar sonucunda; çalışılan granüllerin yoğunluğunun â¼7,2 g.cm-3 olduğu,% karbon ve % manganez miktarının artmasıyla granül sertliğinin arttığı ve bunakarşılık olarak granül (bilya) ömrünün azaldığı görülmüştür. Düşük karbonlu granülbileşim sınırları içerisinde kimyasal analiz ( % C, % Mn, % Si) değişimlerinin granülmikroyapısında belirgin bir değişikliğe sebep olmadığı ve beynitik yapının korunduğutespit edilmiştir. Çalışılan farklı bileşimlerde en yüksek sertlik ve en düşük aşınmadayanımı % 0,177 C, % 1,390 Mn, % 0,301 Si bileşimindeki numunede 490 HV ve%69 olarak, buna karşılık en düşük sertlik ve en yüksek aşınma dayanımı % 0,080 C, %0,951 Mn, % 0,127 Si bileşimindeki numunede 385 HV ve % 85 olarak elde edilmiştir.x In this study, it was aimed to examine the mechanical and microstructural properties oflow carbon steel shot blasting materials. In this manner, alloys with different carbon,manganese and silicon ratios were selected to be used in the experiments. Severalphysical and chemical analyses such as density measurement, chemical spectrumanalysis, durability (life) test and microhardness as well as optical microscopyexaminations of the microstructure were carried out on shot blasting.The density of the steel shot was found to be around 7,2 g.cm-3. The hardness of thesamples was increased whereas the durability (life) properties were decreased withincreasing carbon and manganese content. It was found that the small changes in thequantities of the alloying elements did not significantly altered the microstructure of thealloys in which the bainitic structure was found to be the dominant phase. The minimumdurability and the maximum hardness achieved were % 69 and 490 HV for 0,17 % C,0,14 % Mn, 0,30 % Si also the maximum durability and the minimum hardnessachieved were % 85 and 385 HV for 0,08 % C, 0,95 % Mn, 0,13 % Si alloysrespectively.xi 96

Abstract

Pregabalin is a new generation gabapentinoid that exerts its effect by causing a decrease in the release of neurotransmitters such as glutamate, noradrenaline, and substance P. It is currently used for the treatment of neuropathic pain and fibromyalgia and has anticonvulsant, anxiolytic, and analgesic effects in some conditions. Several case reports and epidemiological studies have raised concern about potential of pregabalin abuse since its use has increased substantially over the last decade. Drug abusers are using it for recreational purposes since it has potential euphoric and dissociative effect when taken in excess of therapeutic doses. The mechanisms behind its abuse potential, and misuse are not fully known. Furthermore, the age limit has gradually decreased in cases of abuse. In this study, we have presented three adolescent patients with pregabalin abuse who were referred to pediatric emergency outpatient clinic. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
