Drug interactions are a significant and integral part of the concept of medication-related adverse events, whether referring to potential interactions or those currently observed in real-world conditions. The high global consumption of antibiotics and their pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic mechanisms make antibiotic-drug interactions a key element that requires continuous study due to their clinical relevance. In the present work, the current state of knowledge on antibiotic-drug interactions, which are less studied than other drug-drug interactions despite their frequent use in acute settings, has been consolidated and updated. The focus was on the interactions of the commonly used antibiotics in clinical practice, on the characteristics of the geriatric population susceptible to interactions, and on the impact of online drug interaction checkers. Additionally, strategies for optimizing the management of these interactions, including spacing out administrations, monitoring, or avoiding certain combinations, are suggested. Sustained research and careful monitoring are critical for improving antibiotic safety and efficacy, especially in susceptible populations, to enhance precision in managing antibiotic-drug interactions. This narrative review provides a comprehensive analysis of skin lesions caused by human papillomavirus (HPV). Human papillomavirus is an infection involving a virus that is omnipresent and can range from benign wart lesions to malignant skin growths. This review includes an analysis of the skin manifestations caused by HPV, and the need for continued successful diagnostic techniques and treatment methods, given the increasing rates of infection among people worldwide. We reviewed all 135 studies related to pathophysiology involving skin, risk factors, and early detection methods like biopsy and molecular testing, from 2000 to 2023. The current treatments, including cryotherapy and laser therapy, are discussed, while the review emphasizes the role of HPV vaccination in preventing infection. Recommendations for the future would involve the improvement of public education and increased vaccine coverage, together with innovative therapies toward better management or control of skin diseases associated with the human papillomavirus (HPV). By advancing these recommendations, we will be in a better position to prevent and treat HPV skin conditions, thus improving the health condition of the general public across the world. Background : Central serous chorioretinopathy (CSCR) is a retinal condition characterized by the accumulation of subretinal fluid, often linked to elevated levels of endogenous corticosteroids and stress-related hormones, which can lead to visual disturbances. This connection may explain the association of CSCR with high stress levels and the use of corticosteroid medications. Although many cases resolve spontaneously, persistent or severe instances may require intervention. Case Description : Our report presents a case of acute CSCR in a 33-year-old male who developed the condition following corticosteroid treatment for acute parotiditis and left submandibular lymphadenopathy. Initial presentation was 6 weeks after corticosteroid treatment was initiated. Diagnostic evaluation with optical coherence tomography (OCT) and fluorescein angiography confirmed the presence of subretinal fluid at the retinal pigment epithelium-Bruch's membrane complex. Micropulse laser therapy (MPLT) was applied to address the leakage points, leading to significant fluid reduction at a two-week follow-up. By six weeks, the complete resolution of subretinal fluid was documented, with substantial visual recovery. Conclusions : This case confirms MPLT as an effective treatment for CSCR, particularly when conservative management is insufficient. Unlike traditional photocoagulation, MPLT offers a safer alternative, minimizing the risk of retinal damage, such as permanent scotomas. Clinical Significance : This case underscores the importance of carefully monitoring patients undergoing corticosteroid therapy for potential ocular complications and highlights the role of MPLT as a safe and effective option for managing persistent CSCR, protecting the surrounding retinal tissue from damage while achieving significant therapeutic outcomes.
