Zinc-finger protein 304 (ZNF304) plays a critical role in silencing genes through transcription, regulating cell survival, proliferation, apoptosis, and differentiation during development. However, the roles of transcription factor ZNF304 and its clinical significance in clear cell renal carcinoma (ccRCC) remain unclear. In this study, we found that the expression of ZNF304 was downregulated in ccRCC tissues. Lower levels of ZNF304 were correlated with poor survival. Downregulation of ZNF304 promoted ccRCC cell growth in vitro, whereas overexpression of ZNF304 inhibited growth. Our results indicated that miR-183-5p/FOXO4 mediated ZNF304 regulation of cell growth. Interestingly, we revealed that ZNF304 promoted FOXO4 expression in ccRCC cells. Mechanistically, ZNF304 binds to miR-183 promoter and inhibits miR-183-5p transcription. Furthermore, the expression of miR-183-5p wes increased in ccRCC tissues, and the upregulation of miR-183-5p was related to the poor prognosis of ccRCC patients. miR-183-5p upregulation repressed the expression of FOXO4 and promoted ccRCC progression. These results demonstrated that ZNF304/miR-183-5p/FOXO4 axis played essential role in promoting ccRCC progression, which suggests that disruption of this axis may be a potential therapeutic target in ccRCC.

Due to the low visibility of the low-light image, it is not conducive to human observation and computer vision algorithm. Inspired by the human vision system (HVS), we propose a simple and effective method of low-light image enhancement. In the proposed method, firstly a sampler is used to get the optimal exposure ratio for the camera response model. Then a generator is used to synthesize dual-exposure images that are well-exposed in the regions where the original image is under-exposed. Next, the enhanced image is processed by using a part of Low-light Image Enhancement via Illumination Map Estimation (LIME) algorithm and the weight matrix of two images will be determined when fusing. After that, the combiner is used to get the synthesized image with all pixel well-exposed and finally a post-processing part is added to make the output image perform better. In the post-processing part, the best gray range of the image is adjusted, and the image is denoised and recomposed by using Block Machine 3-Dimensional (BM3D) model. Experiment results show that the proposed method can enhance the low-light images with less visual information distortions when comparing with those of several recent effective methods.

V-doped and undoped SrTiO3 (V:STO and STO) thin films on Pt/Ti/SiO2/Si substrates were synthesized using a sol–gel method to form metal–insulator–metal (MIM) structures. Coexistence of the bipolar and unipolar resistive switching (BRS and URS) modes in Pt/STO/Pt and Pt/V:STO/Pt structures was observed as a irreversible transition from BRS to URS on adjustment of the compliance current (I comp). Both states were stable and reproducible over 60 cycles, and the maximum operating voltage of the Pt/STO/Pt was reduced from 10 V to 2 V by doping with V. Linear fitting of current–voltage curves suggests that space-charge-limited leakage was the limiting leakage mechanism for these two devices. Based on these results, a switching mechanism based on filament theory is proposed to explain both resistive switching modes.
