INTRODUCTION: Addressing nutrition disparities and preventing obesity require multi-level interventions, including policies that address the nutrition environment and other social determinants of health. The Nutrition and Obesity Policy Research Evaluation Network (NOPREN) was established in 2009 to conduct transdisciplinary research and accelerate the translation and implementation of science-based policy interventions. This study examined NOPRENs collaborative practices and identified opportunities to improve network impact. METHODS: Using a mixed-methods approach, we combined quantitative survey data (n = 106) and in-depth, qualitative interviews (n = 18) to evaluate the experiences of NOPREN members and understand the extent to which NOPREN was achieving its goals. RESULTS: Using the Consolidated Framework for Collaborative Research (CFCR), quantitative and qualitative results were organized into 11 themes. We find that NOPRENs structure and standardized processes facilitate connections to individuals and resources, foster relationships, and support effective cross-sector collaborations. Areas of improvement include capacity building and a more intentional approach towards recruitment of a diverse membership. CONCLUSION: A collaborative research network can build synergy across sectors and accelerate knowledge transfer. These findings will be used to inform the networks strategic priorities to maximize impact. Findings may also inform similar collaborative efforts for addressing complex public health problems.

Purpose: This article contributes to the discussion of teaching migration in upper primary school by examining teachers' didactical choices concerning specialized knowledge and pupils' previous knowledge. Design/methodology/approach: The approach is practice-based design research, in which meetings with teachers and focus group interviews with ten- to twelve-year-old pupils are analysed in relation to educational practice and exemplary teaching. Findings: Teachers expanded concept of migration developed through discussions of specialized knowledge in relation to pupils' previous knowledge contributes to a more qualified migration education. Migration can be taught from a perspective or in thematic interdisciplinary projects. Migration biographies as well as using stories, pictures, and affective dimensions, can make the abstract concepts become concrete when reconstruction of migration in teaching. Practical implications: This addresses issues of continuous education in social studies for teachers and the need for collaborative platforms.

We conducted a systematic review to assess outcomes in Hispanic donors and explore how Hispanic ethnicity was characterized. We searched PubMed, EMBASE, and Scopus through October 2021. Two reviewers independently screened study titles, abstracts, and full texts; they also qualitatively synthesized results and independently assessed quality of included studies. Eighteen studies met our inclusion criteria. Study sample sizes ranged from 4007 to 143,750 donors and mean age ranged from 37 to 54 years. Maximum follow-up time of studies varied from a perioperative donor nephrectomy period to 30 years post-donation. Hispanic donors ranged between 6% and 21% of the donor populations across studies. Most studies reported Hispanic ethnicity under race or a combined race and ethnicity category. Compared to non-Hispanic White donors, Hispanic donors were not at increased risk for post-donation mortality, end-stage kidney disease, cardiovascular disease, non-pregnancy-related hospitalizations, or overall perioperative surgical complications. Compared to non-Hispanic White donors, most studies showed Hispanic donors were at higher risk for diabetes mellitus following nephrectomy; however, mixed findings were seen regarding the risk for post-donation chronic kidney disease and hypertension. Future studies should evaluate cultural, socioeconomic, and geographic differences within the heterogeneous Hispanic donor population, which may further explain variation in health outcomes.

Common approaches for monitoring T cell responses are limited in their multiplexity and sensitivity. In contrast, deep sequencing of the T Cell Receptor (TCR) repertoire provides a global view that is limited only in terms of theoretical sensitivity due to the depth of available sampling; however, the assignment of antigen specificities within TCR repertoires has become a bottleneck. This study combines antigen-driven expansion, deep TCR sequencing, and a novel analysis framework to show that homologous 'Clusters of Expanded TCRs (CETs)' can be confidently identified without cell isolation, and assigned to antigen against a background of non-specific clones. We show that clonotypes within each CET respond to the same epitope, and that protein antigens stimulate multiple CETs reactive to constituent peptides. Finally, we demonstrate the personalized assignment of antigen-specificity to rare clones within fully-diverse uncultured repertoires. The method presented here may be used to monitor T cell responses to vaccination and immunotherapy with high fidelity.

In this article, the authors describe a 3-year initiative in New York state, led by the New York Center for Child Development (NYCCD), through which more than 2,500 mental health clinicians were trained in the DC:0-5. Funding was provided through the creative use of the Preschool Development, Birth to Five federally funded Block Grant, and collaborations are described with a public and a university partner to advance the dissemination and application of the classification system. The authors describe the "community of practice" follow-up sessions for trainees, targeted content workshops in infant and early childhood mental health (IECMH), and offering continuing education for professional development. Data from participant evaluations demonstrate the high impact of the training. The authors provide lessons learned in service of the question that Selma Frailberg asked more than 40 years ago: What about the baby?

Wilms tumor (WT) is the most common pediatric renal malignancy. Current guidelines that stratify WT risk and determine treatment courses are inadequate, as over 60 % of WT survivors develop treatment-related complications. Recently, numerous advances in establishing patient sub-groups with different clinical features have been realized by evaluating the adaptive immune receptor (IR) complementarity determining region-3 (CDR3) amino acid (AA) sequences, a reasonable series of successes, given the prominent role of the CDR3 in antigen binding, including tumor antigen binding. However, the possibility that adaptive IR chemical variability correlates with distinct survival outcomes for WT has not yet been explored. The goal of this study was to isolate the T-cell receptor and B-cell receptor recombination, sequencing reads from WT RNAseq files, representing the actual tumor tissue, translate the sequences to AAs, identify the adaptive IR CDR3 domains, and determine whether the physicochemical properties of those CDR3 AA sequences correlated with survival probability distinctions. WT RNA-seq files were mined to obtain the CDR3 AAs for various adaptive IRs. The physicochemical properties of these CDR3s were examined for trends in how those properties correlated with survival probabilities for WT patients, using a Kaplan–Meier analyses, verified via several approaches. The above processes indicated the association of the (a) IGL CDR3s′ instability index and the (b) TRG CDR3s' fraction disorder promoting features with better outcomes. Additionally, the IGL CDR3 data were assessed using the Predictor of Natural Disordered Regions web tool, which strengthened the evidence for the association with the IGL CDR3 instability index with a better outcome. The approaches described here indicate that greater adaptive IR CDR3 instability and flexibility may serve as prognostic indicators; and may indicate the flexibility of CDR3 domains provides for greater opportunity to bind tumor antigens. Further exploration and development of these approaches and findings may lead to new guidelines for more precise treatment regimens, or even watchful waiting periods, that could thereby decrease the lifetime occurrence of adverse events.
