The article presents a speech by winner of the 2010 Australian Clinical Pharmacy Award, Garth Birdsey, delivered at the 36th annual SHPA National Conference, held in Melbourne, Australia, November 12, 2010, in which he discussed his experience of being a specialist pharmacist in the cardiac unit at Barwon Health in Geelong, Victoria, Australia.
