This article discusses a new method for efficiently modifying oligonucleotides with multiple sugars in a one-step reaction. The researchers used a bifunctional linker and Cu-catalyzed alkyne-azide click chemistry to achieve this modification. The method is fast, highly selective, and cost-effective, allowing for the synthesis of oligonucleotides with multiple sugar modifications. This research has implications for the development of nucleic acid therapeutics in the pharmaceutical industry.
