Abstract Introduction The efficacy of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is highly dependent on adherence, and adherence behavior is influenced by motivation. The aim of this study was to explore the longitudinal relationship between PrEP motivation and change in adherence among men who have sex with men (MSM) in Western China. Methods From November 2019 to June 2021, we conducted a PrEP prospective cohort study. Motivation to take medicine was measured by the PrEP Motivation Scale at baseline, and was grouped into different levels of latent categories by Latent Profile Analysis (LPA). A multinomial logistic regression model was used to explore the longitudinal relationship between change in adherence (improvement, decline, no change) and different levels of PrEP motivation. Results MSM were divided into two categories of PrEP motivation, a “high motivation group” (n = 506, 69.89%) and a “low motivation group” (n = 218, 30.11%). High PrEP motivation had no significant effect on the change in short-term adherence, however, it contributed to the improvement in long-term adherence [odds ratio (OR) = 3.028 (1.100–8.332), p = 0.031]. The predictive power of the adherence model was significantly enhanced with the addition of the PrEP motivation factor. Conclusions There was a positive correlation between high PrEP motivation at baseline and an improvement in long-term adherence. Surveillance and intervention of PrEP motivation in MSM can increase their adherence, and then promote PrEP efficacy.

Purpose: To analyze the characteristics of optical coherence tomography in acute macular neuroretinopathy (AMN) following severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection and discuss the prognostic predictors. Methods: Patients with AMN following SARS-CoV-2 infection were divided into two groups according to the presence or absence of hyperreflective outer nuclear layer (ONL) lesion involving the fovea. Results: The first visit included 14 eyes in the fovea-involved group and 20 eyes in the no fovea-involved group. Ellipsoid zone (EZ) hyporeflection and interdigitation zone (IZ) interruption were detected in all eyes. Other common manifestations were myoid zone (MZ) hyperreflection (76.5%), ONL hyperreflection (73.5%), outer plexiform layer (OPL) thickening (64.7%), and EZ interruption (50%). The follow-up period was 48.4 ± 55.3 days. At the last visit, 12 eyes were in the fovea-involved group and 13 eyes in the no fovea-involved group. IZ interruption was detected in all eyes. Other common manifestations were EZ hyporeflection (92.0%), ONL atrophy (40.0%), OPL thickening (36.0%), OPL linear (32.0%), and MZ hyperreflection (32%). The improvement of visual acuity (VA) was -0.5 ± 0.5 and -0.2 ± 0.4 in the fovea-involved group and the no fovea-involved group, respectively, with a statistically significant difference between them (P = 0.045). Initial VA, initial cotton wool spot, initial ONL cyst, final ONL cyst, and final OPL linear were associated with final VA (P = 0.000, P = 0.029, P = 0.044, P = 0.049, P = 0.049, respectively). Conclusions: In the early stage of AMN following SARS-CoV-2 infection, IZ interruption and EZ hyporeflection were the most common manifestations, and pathology of IZ was more serious than that of EZ. Subsequently, OPL and ONL atrophied, and ONL atrophied faster. Regardless of whether hyperreflective ONL involved the fovea, VA improved, with a more noticeable improvement found in the fovea-involved group. The presence of initial ONL cyst and initial cotton wool spot, rapid atrophy of OPL, and poorer initial VA indicating poorer VA outcome.

Aiming at the poor voltage response characteristics of the line-committed converter-based high voltage direct current (LCC-HVDC) transmission system after the fault of the AC system at the inverter side, this paper analyzes the relationship between the continuous commutation failure of the LCC-HVDC transmission system and the reactive power demand in detail from the perspective of the reactive power voltage of the inverter side converter. On this basis, an improved control method for the virtual synchronous generator (VSG) of the energy storage system is proposed to enhance the commutation ability of the LCC-HVDC transmission system, to suppress continuous commutation failure. Firstly, secondary frequency regulation is added to the active power frequency control of the traditional VSG to improve the stability of the system converter bus frequency. Secondly, the leading trigger angle negative feedback control is added to the traditional VSG control, so that the system has the advantages of rapid reactive power output and voltage recovery. At the same time, different control modes are selected according to the fault location and size to improve the recovery ability and robustness of the system. Finally, based on the CIGRE benchmark LCC-HVDC transmission system model, the improved method is proven to have a good suppression effect. The results can provide a reference for actual projects.

Sea surface air pressure observations are a significant gap in the current Earth observing systems. This study addresses retrieval algorithm development and the evaluation of the potential impact of instrumental and environmental uncertainties on sea level pressure retrievals for the measurements of O2 differential absorption radar systems operating at three spectrally evenly spaced close-frequency bands (65.5, 67.75, and 70.0 GHz). A simulated northern hemispheric summer case is used to simulate retrieval uncertainties. To avoid high attenuation and a low signal-to-noise ratio, radar measurements from weather conditions with a rain rate ≥1 mm/h are not used in the retrieval. This study finds that a retrieval algorithm combining all three channels, i.e., the 3-channel approach, can effectively mitigate major atmospheric and sea surface influences on sea surface air pressure retrieval. The major uncertainty of sea surface pressure retrieval is due to the standard deviation in radar power returns. Analysis and simulation demonstrate the potential of global sea surface pressure observations with errors of about 1∼2 mb, which is urgently needed for the improvement of numerical weather prediction models. Future work will emphasize instrument development and field experiments. It is anticipated that an O2 differential absorption radar system will be available for meteorological applications in a few years.

Natural basalt can be processed into rod-like basalt fibers (BFs) and flake-like basalt scales (BSs) through high-temperature melting, forming and other processes. BFs and BSs have great application prospects in the field of organic coatings. BFs possess a regular rod-like structure and excellent mechanical properties, which are mainly used to enhance the mechanical properties of organic coatings. BSs possess a relatively irregular flake-like structure, which can form “maze” effects and layered structures to enhance corrosion resistance of organic coatings. However, basalt materials have poor compatibility, adhesion, and dispersion in organic resins due to their chemical inertness, resulting in a weak basalt-resin interface. Basalt-resin interface is an important parameter that determines the service performance of basalt composite coatings. Therefore, it is necessary to improve basalt-resin interface through corresponding strategies, such as chemical etching, chemical grafting and plasma treatment. Firstly, the surface modification strategies for improving basalt-matrix interface were summarized in this paper. Secondly, we discussed the effects of BFs and BSs on corrosion resistance of organic coatings and corrosion protection mechanism of composite coatings. Finally, we reviewed the research progress of modified basalt materials reinforced organic coatings.

The effect of target tracking is not ideal when facing various complex tracking scenarios such as non-rigid deformation of target, frequent occlusion, clutter of target background and interference of similar objects. In this paper, the feature based on deep convolutional neural network is used for target tracking in moving scenes, and a sliding window target segmentation method is proposed to study the impact of data normalization and data set expansion on the final result. In order to select more distinguishing features, principal component analysis is used to process the features of Deep Convolution Neural Network (DCNN), and the features of different network layers of DCNN are compared. The feature coding algorithm is studied, and the extracted DCNN features are encoded by Fisher Vectors algorithm, and compared with the locality-constrained linear encoding technique. Experiments show that the feature based on deep convolutional neural network in this paper can obtain higher accuracy than the traditional feature fusion method. According to the result analysis, the tracking accuracy of deep convolutional neural network algorithm is improved under the condition of illumination variation. In the case of local occlusion, the tracking accuracy is also improved.

ABSTRACTMen who have sex with men and women (MSMW) have been reported to differ in psychosocial and sexual behavior patterns from men who have sex with men only (MSMO). However, results regarding the differences in HPV vaccination intention/behavior were inconclusive. We compared HPV vaccination intention between MSMO and MSMW and analyzed the differences in potentially associated factors in China. MSM participants were recruited online using a snowball sampling method. Cross-sectional data were collected via a questionnaire based on the extended information-motivation-behavioral skills model. Structural equation modeling was conducted to examine the relationship between the variables, followed by multi-group analysis to test differences between groups. Of 914 MSM, 77.68% were MSMO and 22.32% were MSMW. MSMW had a higher rate of reluctance to vaccinate than MSMO (23.53% vs. 16.20%, p = .016). Differences between the two groups were statistically significant in risky sexual behavior, behavioral skills, and promotional attitude. In both groups, promotional attitude was the most significant predictor of vaccination intention. Vaccination intention was directly influenced by motivation and indirectly by risky sexual behavior in MSMO, but not significantly in MSMW. Additionally, the direct effect of information on behavioral skills in MSMW was significantly greater than that in MSMO, but we did not find any effect of behavioral skills on vaccination intention. MSMW had lower vaccination intention than MSMO. MSMO may be influenced by risky sexual behavior and motivation, positively impacting their vaccination intention, unlike MSMW. Targeted strategies could help promote HPV vaccination, especially in MSMW.

BackgroundDefinitive concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) followed by maintenance therapy with immune checkpoint inhibitors offers the best chance of cure for patients with stage III non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). A significant challenge in this regimen is the occurrence of acute severe lymphopenia (ASL), which can compromise treatment efficacy. Currently, there are no effective strategies for preventing and treating ASL. Shenglin decoction (SLD), a traditional Chinese herbal medicine formulation, has demonstrated preliminary efficacy in mitigating ASL. However, robust evidence from clinical trials and a clear understanding of its mechanism of action are still needed. This study aims to comprehensively assess the efficacy, safety, and underlying mechanisms of SLD in the prevention of ASL.MethodsThis prospective, dual-center, open-label, randomized controlled trial will enroll 140 stage III NSCLC patients. Participants will be randomly allocated in a 1:1 ratio to a control group or an experimental group. Both groups will undergo definitive CCRT. Alongside the commencement of CCRT, the experimental group will receive an additional oral SLD intervention for a duration of three months. The primary outcome is the incidence rate of ASL, defined as the proportion of patients who experience at least one instance of a total lymphocyte count falling below 0.5 × 10^9 cells/L within 3 months of initiating CCRT treatment. Additionally, 16S rRNA gene sequencing analysis of fecal samples to assess gut microbiota, as well as metabolomic analysis of fecal/blood samples, will be conducted to explore potential mechanisms.DiscussionThis study protocol aims to rigorously evaluate the efficacy and safety of SLD, as well as elucidate its mechanism of action in preventing ASL. Summary: We previously reported that loss of function of TYW1 led to cerebral palsy with severe intellectual disability through reduced neural proliferation. However, whether TYW1 loss affects neural differentiation is unknown. In this study, we first demonstrated that TYW1 loss blocked the formation of OHyW in tRNAphe and therefore affected the translation efficiency of UUU codon. Using the brain organoid model, we showed impaired neuron differentiation when TYW1 was depleted. Interestingly, retrotransposons were differentially regulated in TYW1−/− hESCs (human embryonic stem cells). In particular, one kind of human-specific endogenous retrovirus-K (HERVK/HML2), whose reactivation impaired human neurodevelopment, was significantly up-regulated in TYW1−/− hESCs. Consistently, a UUU codon-enriched protein, SMARCAD1, which was a key factor in controlling endogenous retroviruses, was reduced. Taken together, TYW1 loss leads to up-regulation of HERVK in hESCs by down-regulated SMARCAD1, thus impairing neuron differentiation.

AIM: To describe the optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) characteristics of exudative and non-exudative treatment-naïve pachychoroid neovasculopathy (PNV). METHODS: Thirty-five patients with exudative treatment-naïve PNV and 13 with non-exudative treatment-naïve PNV between March 2020 and December 2021 were included. All patients underwent ophthalmologic examination, including fluorescein angiography (FA), indocyanine green angiography (ICGA), spectral-domain OCT, and OCTA. The clinical data of the patients were retrospectively analyzed. RESULTS: The study included 51 eyes from 46 patients, of whom 33 (71.7%) were male. AIM: To evaluate the efficacy of retinal laser photocoagulation and intravitreal injection of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (anti-VEGF) for hemorrhagic retinal arterial macroaneurysm (RAM). METHODS: This was a retrospective clinical study. Patients with hemorrhagic RAM were divided into 4 groups defined by different treatments: a retinal laser photocoagulation therapy monotherapy group, an anti-VEGF intravitreal injection monotherapy group, a laser and anti-VEGF combination therapy group, and an observation group. Abstract Objectives To evaluate the efficacy of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in treatment of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) with retinal pigment epithelial detachment (PED). Methods Systematic review identifying studies comparing intravitreal ranibizumab (IVR), intravitreal aflibercept (IVA) and intravitreal conbercept (IVC) published before Mar 2022. Results One randomized controlled trial and 6 observational studies were selected for meta-analysis (1,069 patients). The change of best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) in IVA 2.0 mg group was better than IVR 0.5 mg (average difference 0.07) and IVR 2.0 mg (average difference 0.10), the differences were statistically significant. The change of the height of PED in IVA 2.0 group was better than IVR 0.5 group (average difference 45.30), the difference was statistically significant. The proportion of patients without PED at last visit in IVA 2.0 group were better than those in IVR 2.0 group (hazard ratio 1.91), the difference was statistically significant. There was no significant difference compared with IVR 0.5 group (hazard ratio 1.45). IVA required fewer injections than IVR, with a mean difference of -1.58. Conclusions IVA appears to be superior to IVR in improvement of BCVA, height decrease of PED and regression of PED with less injections in nAMD with PED.

Abstract The success of deep learning in the field of state‐of‐health (SOH) estimation relies on a large amount of battery data and the fact that all data possess the same probability distribution. While in real situations, a model based on one working condition data set may not be valid for another working condition data set due to distribution differences. Therefore, this article proposes a transfer learning method using soft‐dynamic time warping (soft‐DTW) as the statistical feature in the feature transfer method, called soft‐DTW domain adaptation network (SDDAN). By combining the prediction error with the time‐series gap in the model training process, the feature transformation can make the obtained prediction results more similar to the source domain results, which can help us to obtain better prediction results in the target domain. Experimental results show that SDDAN can effectively predict the SOH of Li‐ion batteries and significantly improve the performance of feature learning and knowledge transfer.

Abstract Perovskite iridates are a promising material platform for hosting unconventional superconductivity. Transport measurements of Sr2IrO4 thin-film field-effect transistors are expected to provide irrefutable evidence for the existence of superconductivity. However, these experiments have revealed a remarkably robust insulating state over wide electron and hole doping ranges; this finding is in contrast to the case of the bulk material, in which metallicity appears upon moderate electron doping by substituting cations in place of Sr. The nature of this robust insulating state and whether any metallic state can be realized in the Sr2IrO4 thin film are two remaining challenges that preclude further progress in the search for superconductivity in this system. Here, we show that this insulating state is enhanced in Sr2IrO4 thin films by thermal annealing under vacuum conditions, while it can be destroyed upon annealing in an oxygen atmosphere within restricted ranges of oxygen pressure, annealing temperature and ion substitution levels. The resulting films exhibit metallic transport behavior near room temperature and a metal–insulator crossover at ~200 K. Our results point to the potentially important roles of the oxygen vacancies at different atomic sites in the formation of the robust insulating state and the new metallic state and to their interplay in the Sr2IrO4 thin film. This finding opens new possibilities in the search for unconventional superconductivity by further tailoring the as-found metallic state in properly oxygen-annealed Sr2IrO4 thin films.

AIM: To investigate the clinical efficacy of diquafosol sodium(DQS)eye drops combined with Qingrun Yangmu oral liquid in the treatment of dry eye after phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation.METHODS:A total of 57 patients(65 eyes)with dry eye after cataract surgery, who were admitted to the ophthalmology department of our hospital from September 2020 to January 2021, were selected as the research objects. They were divided into a control group(28 cases, 32 eyes, treated with 3% DQS eye drops)and an observation group(29 cases, 33 eyes, treated with 3% DQS eye drops combined with the Qingrun Yangmu oral liquid)based on a random number table method. Indicators, such as ocular surface disease index(OSDI), non-invasive tear film break-up time(NIBUT), Schirmer I test(SIt), corneal fluorescein sodium staining(CFS), and TCM symptom score, were compared and analyzed between the two groups 1d before, 1wk after(before treatment), and 1mo after(after treatment)surgery.RESULTS:The total effective rates of the observation group and the control group after treatment were 88% and 75%, respectively. The combination of water electrolysis and renewable energy to produce hydrogen is a promising way to solve the climate and energy crisis. However, the fluctuating characteristics of renewable energy not only present a significant challenge to the use of water electrolysis electrodes, but also limit the development of the hydrogen production industry. In this study, the effects of three different types of waveforms (square, step, and triangle, which were used to simulate the power input of renewable energy) on the electrochemical catalysis behavior of Ni plate cathodes for HER was investigated. During the test, the HER performance of the Ni cathode increased at first and then slightly decreased. The fluctuating power led to the degradation of the Ni cathode surface, which enhanced the catalysis effect by increasing the catalytic area and the active sites. However, prolonged operation under power fluctuations could have damaged the morphology of the electrode surface and the substances comprising this surface, potentially resulting in a decline in catalytic efficiency. In addition, the electrochemical catalysis behavior of the prepared FeNiMo-LDH@NiMo/SS cathode when subjected to square-wave potential with different fluctuation amplitudes was also extensively studied. A larger amplitude of fluctuating power led to a change in the overpotential and stability of the LDH electrode, which accelerated the degradation of the cathode. This research provides a technological basis for the coupling of water electrolysis and fluctuating renewable energy and thus offers assistance to the development of the “green hydrogen” industry.

Abstract Background Macular edema (ME) is a major complication of retinal disease with multiple mechanisms involved in its development. This study aimed to investigate the metabolite profile of aqueous humor (AH) in patients with ME of different etiologies and identify potential metabolite biomarkers for early diagnosis of ME. Methods Samples of AH were collected from 60 patients with ME and 20 age- and sex-matched controls and analyzed by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC/MS)-based metabolomics. A series of univariate and multivariate statistical analyses were performed to identify differential metabolites and enriched metabolite pathways. Results The metabolic profile of AH differed significantly between ME patients and healthy controls, and differentially expressed metabolites were identified. Pathway analysis revealed that these differentially expressed metabolites are mainly involved in lipid metabolism and amino acid metabolism. Moreover, significant differences were identified in the metabolic composition of AH from patients with ME due to different retinal diseases including age-related macular degeneration (AMD-ME), diabetic retinopathy (DME) and branch retinal vein occlusion (BRVO-ME). In total, 39 and 79 etiology-specific altered metabolites were identified for AMD-ME and DME, respectively. Finally, an AH-derived machine learning-based diagnostic model was developed and successfully validated in the test cohort with an area under the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve of 0.79 for AMD-ME, 0.94 for DME and 0.77 for BRVO-ME. Conclusions Our study illustrates the potential underlying metabolic basis of AH of different etiologies across ME populations. We also identify AH-derived metabolite biomarkers that may improve the differential diagnosis and treatment stratification of ME patients with different etiologies.

Abstract To discuss the effects of 12 weeks of jump rope training on dynamic balance and stroke stability in junior tennis players. Sixteen junior tennis players at CTN7 level were used as subjects and randomly divided equally into ExG and ConG for 12 weeks of training, 3 times a week. The ExG performed Jump Rope training and Special Preparation Activity (JR + SPA), the ConG performed only Special Preparation Activity (SPA) to ensure that the training intensity was basically the same. Abstract Background Ovarian cancer (OC) is one of the most common gynecological cancers with malignant metastasis and poor prognosis. Current evidence substantiates that epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) is a critical mechanism that drives OC progression. In this study, we aspire to identify pivotal EMT-related genes (EMTG) in OC development, and establish an EMT gene-based model for prognosis prediction. Methods We constructed the risk score model by screening EMT genes via univariate/LASSO/step multivariate Cox regressions in the OC cohort from TCGA database. The efficacy of the EMTG model was tested in external GEO cohort, and quantified by the nomogram. Moreover, the immune infiltration and chemotherapy sensitivity were analyzed in different risk score groups. Results We established a 11-EMTGs risk score model to predict the prognosis of OC patients. Based on the model, OC patients were split into high- and low- risk score groups, and the high-risk score group had an inevitably poor survival. The predictive power of the model was verified by external OC cohort. The nomogram showed that the model was an independent factor for prognosis prediction. Moreover, immune infiltration analysis revealed the immunosuppressive microenvironment in the high-risk score group. Finally, the EMTG model can be used to predict the sensitivity to chemotherapy drugs. Conclusions This study demonstrated that EMTG model was a powerful tool for prognostic prediction of OC patients. Our work not only provide a novel insight into the etiology of OC tumorigenesis, but also can be used in the clinical decisions on OC treatment.

Although the Bluetooth Mesh protocol is still being improved, it has found widespread use in industries such as smart homes. One major challenge faced by the protocol is how to handle problems caused by a broadcast storm. It is commonly believed that a Bluetooth Mesh network with a large number of devices can easily trigger storms, which directly impact the success rate and latency of message transmission within the network. The primary purpose of this article is to quantitatively analyze the impact of a broadcast storm in a mesh network. To achieve this goal, we define typical application scenarios, propose new measurement metrics, and design an experimental system. After analyzing the experimental results, we have determined that under reasonable improvements, the impact of a broadcast storm on mesh message control success rate should not be overstated. Additionally, we have identified a quantitative relationship between experimental results and a broadcast storm. Finally, based on these experimental findings and extensive user feedback, we provide several suggestions for improving a Bluetooth Mesh network.

Dissolved oxygen (DO) is crucial for fish farming, and when fish experience hypoxic stress, negative effects such as the disruption of normal physiological activities, a decline in aerobic swimming ability, and feeding restriction will occur. In this study, healthy Epinephelus coioides individuals were subjected to hypoxic (DO = 0.6 ± 0.1 mg/L) and reoxygenation treatments (DO = 6.0 ± 0.1 mg/L), with a normoxic group (DO = 6.0 ± 0.1 mg/L) set as the control. Transcriptome sequencing (RNA-seq) was performed on the brains of E. coioides in hypoxia-sensitive (EBW), hypoxia-tolerant (EBS), and normoxic control (CB) groups. In total, 1174 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were screened from the three groups. KEGG analysis revealed several pathways, including the HIF-1 signaling pathway, and immune-related pathways such as MAPK signaling, microRNAs (miRNAs), and oxidative phosphorylation pathways enriched in the EBS group, and cAMP signaling pathway enriched in the EBW group. Moreover, a variety of significant hypoxia-responsive DEGs involved in energy metabolism and immune reactions were identified in the EBS and EBW groups. qRTPCR analysis showed that the key DEGs HIF-1α, LDH-A, PPARα, PNP, RAB13, DDIT4, TNF-1, and ALDOA were significantly upregulated in the brain tissues of E. coioides under acute hypoxic stress and that their expression returned to normoxic levels after reoxygenation, indicating that they provided energy to the organism and regulated severe damage and lesions appearing in the brains of E. coioides during hypoxic stress to prolong the survival time of the organism. Altogether, these results suggest that hypoxia disrupts the expression patterns of multiple genes in E. coioides and that these genes may participate in resistance and adaptation to hypoxia in the organisms by regulating apoptosis, proliferation, differentiation, and energy metabolism.

Abstract Background It can be considered that pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) risk perception is the negative experiences or concerns about taking PrEP. The aim of this study is to explore the longitudinal trajectory of PrEP risk perception among men who have sex with men (MSM) and its impact on adherence. Methods Data related to PrEP risk perception and adherence were derived from a prospective cohort study in Western China from 2013 to 2015. Subjects were categorized into the time-driven, event-driven and blank control groups. Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF) was administered to subjects in the time-driven and event-driven groups, and all subjects were followed up every 12 weeks. The PrEP risk perception scale was constructed, and the growth mixture model (GMM) was used to classify longitudinal PrEP risk perception. The effect of different levels of PrEP risk perception on drug adherence was explored using generalized estimating equations (GEE) with relative risk (RR) and 95% confidence interval (CI). Results The PrEP risk perception scale consists of 4 dimensions and 16 items with Cronbach's alpha = 0.828 and a good model fit. According to the GMM analysis, the subjects' PrEP risk perceptions were separated into two groups: a "high-risk perception group" (n = 133) and a "low-risk perception group" (n = 493), where the proportion of high levels of drug adherence were 57.89% and 68.35%, respectively (p = 0.024). High levels of PrEP risk perception in the MSM population hinder drug adherence (RR = 0.71, 95% CI 0.50 to 0.99, p = 0.046). The results of this study were validated in the subsequent PrEP projects conducted in 2019 to 2021. Conclusion This study demonstrates that high levels of PrEP risk perception in the MSM population are an obstacle to drug adherence, emphasizing the necessity of focusing on PrEP risk perception in this population and the value of its application in the current context.

Abstract Background Ovarian cancer is a common gynecological cancer with poor prognosis and poses a serious threat to woman life and health. In this study, we aimed to establish a prognostic signature for the risk assessment of ovarian cancer. Methods The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) dataset was used as the training set and the International Cancer Genome Consortium (ICGC) dataset was set as an independent external validation. A multi-stage screening strategy was used to determine the prognostic features of ovarian cancer with R software. The relationship between the prognosis of ovarian cancer and the expression level of SLC25A10 was selected for further analysis. Results A total of 16 prognosis-associated genes were screened to construct the risk score signature. Survival analysis showed that patients in the high-risk score group had a poor prognosis compared to the low-risk group. Accuracy of this prognostic signature was confirmed by the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve and decision curve analysis (DCA), and validated with ICGC cohort. This signature was identified as an independent factor for predicting overall survival (OS). Nomogram constructed by multiple clinical parameters showed excellent performance for OS prediction. Finally, it’s found that patients with low expression of SLC25A10 generally had poor survival and higher resistance to most chemotherapeutic drugs. Conclusions In sum, we developed a 16-gene prognostic signature, which could serve as a promising tool for the prognostic prediction of ovarian cancer, and the expression level of SLC25A10 was tightly associated with OS of the patients.

AIM: To evaluate the imaging characteristics of dense automatic real time B-scan optical coherence tomography angiography(DART-OCTA)in macular-involved branch retinal vein occlusion(BRVO)and the diagnostic value of capillary perfusion imaging in the macular area.METHODS: From June 2020 to December 2020, there were 51 cases of 51 eyes with BRVO diagnosed in Eye Hospital, Wenzhou Medical University. Imaging characteristics of the BRVO macular area were observed by fluorescein angiography(FA), optical coherence tomography angiography(OCTA)and DART-OCTA examination, respectively. According to the retinal capillary perfusion status, the included patients were divided into capillary and non-imaging groups, comparing the results of capillary perfusion imaging in the BRVO macular area among the three examination methods.Furthermore, quantitative analysis of capillary perfusion density in the lesion involved area and the lesion non-involved area was performed in DART-OCTA images. RESULTS: Patients with 51 eyes were included in this study, FA identified 10 eyes of capillary perfusion imaging, OCTA identified 14 eyes of capillary perfusion imaging, DART-OCTA identified 34 eyes of the capillary perfusion imaging.Comparison of the three test methods for capillary perfusion imaging findings in the BRVO macular area showed that DART-OCTA was more sensitive compared to FA and OCTA for capillary perfusion imaging in the ischemic area. ObjectiveThis study aimed to investigate the efficacy and mechanism of action of Governor Vessel Moxibustion (GVM) in the treatment of Cancer-Related Fatigue (CRF) in patients who have completed treatment for colorectal cancer.MethodsWe randomly assigned 80 CRF patients in a 1:1 ratio to either the experimental group or the control group. During the three-week treatment period, both groups of patients received usual care for CRF provided by professional nurses. The experimental group received additional GVM treatment (three times a week, nine times total). The primary outcome was the mean change in total fatigue score from baseline to the end of treatment, assessed using the Chinese version of the Piper Fatigue Scale.ResultsAt baseline, the total fatigue scores were 6.20 ± 0.12 in the experimental group and 6.16 ± 0.14 in the control group. At the end of treatment, the total fatigue scores decreased by 2.03 points (32.7% decrease from baseline) in the experimental group and by 0.99 points (15.6% decrease from baseline) in the control group. The mechanism of brain aging is not fully understood. Few studies have attempted to identify molecular changes using bioinformatics at the subregional level in the aging brain. This study aimed to identify the molecular signatures and key genes involved in aging, depending on the brain region. Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) associated with aging of the cerebral cortex (CX), hippocampus (HC), and cerebellum (CB) were identified based on five datasets from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO). The molecular signatures of aging were explored using functional and pathway analyses. Hub genes of each brain region were determined by protein–protein interaction network analysis, and commonly expressed DEGs (co-DEGs) were also found. Gene–microRNAs (miRNAs) and gene–disease interactions were constructed using online databases. The expression levels and regional specificity of the hub genes and co-DEGs were validated using animal experiments. In total, 32, 293, and 141 DEGs were identified in aging CX, HC, and CB, respectively. Enrichment analysis indicated molecular changes related to leukocyte invasion, abnormal neurotransmission, and impaired neurogenesis due to inflammation as the major signatures of the CX, HC, and CB. Itgax is a hub gene of cortical aging. Zfp51 and Zfp62 were identified as hub genes involved in hippocampal aging. Itgax and Cxcl10 were identified as hub genes involved in cerebellar aging. S100a8 was the only co-DEG in all three regions. In addition, a series of molecular changes associated with inflammation was observed in all three brain regions. Several miRNAs interact with hub genes and S100a8. The change in gene levels was further validated in an animal experiment. Only the upregulation of Zfp51 and Zfp62 was restricted to the HC. The molecular signatures of aging exhibit regional differences in the brain and seem to be closely related to neuroinflammation. Itgax, Zfp51, Zfp62, Cxcl10, and S100a8 may be key genes and potential targets for the prevention of brain aging.

This study simulates V-band sea surface reflectance and normalized radar cross-section (NRCS) for sea surface air pressure barometry using a differential absorption radar operating at three spectrally even spaced close frequency bands (65.5, 67.75 and 70.0 GHz) with ± 15° cross-track scanning angle. The reflectance ratios of two neighboring frequency pairs and the ratio of the two ratios or three-channel approach are the focus of this study. Impacts of major sea surface geophysical variables such as sea surface temperature, wind, salinity, whitecap, and incidence angle on these reflection properties are analyzed. The reflection simulation is essentially based on geometric optics of rough sea surface. Simulation shows that NRCS values are sufficiently strong within the scanning angle and sea surface salinity would only introduce minimal variations in the surface reflection. The impact of sea surface reflection variations with sea surface temperature, wind, and whitecaps on sea surface barometry are mitigated when the ratios of frequency-paired radar signals are used. Furthermore, the ratios of a three-channel approach are very close to unity and calibration or compensation for the reflectance ratios may not be needed for sea level pressure retrievals. These results improve our understanding of sea surface reflection variations and would help the system design and development.

Objectives: To explore the optical coherence tomography (OCT) biomarkers to predict the transition to chronic central serous chorioretinopathy (cCSC) after retinal laser photocoagulation. Methods: Patients enrolled in this study were from a 12-week clinical trial comparing the efficacy and safety of subthreshold micropulse laser (SML) with threshold conventional laser (TCL) for CSC and had extended follow-up for more than 1 year. They were divided into two groups, transited to cCSC group (cCSC group) and did not transited to cCSC group (non-cCSC group) according to fundus examination at the extended follow-up. Collect the best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) and OCT characteristics of patients at baseline and 12 weeks after laser treatment. Results: Twenty-seven patients were enrolled (42.6 ± 7.7 years old), and duration of follow-up was 178.9 ± 88.8 (57.0–312.0) weeks. Nine patients (33.3%) were assigned to cCSC group, and the other 18 patients (66.7%) were assigned to the non-cCSC group. Twelve weeks after the laser treatment, subretinal fluid (SRF) of 15 patients (83.3%) in non-cCSC group and 5 patients (55.6%) in cCSC group absorbed completely; the height of SRF had statistical difference between two groups ( p = 0.035); rough RPE was less common in cCSC group ( p = 0.030); hyper reflective mass (HRM) was more common in cCSC group ( p = 0.024); more number of hyper reflective foci (HRF) in outer segment of photoreceptor layer were detected in cCSC group ( p = 0.035). From baseline to 12 weeks after laser treatment, the number of HRF in outer segment photoreceptor layer did not change significantly in cCSC group ( p = 0.665) but decreased significantly in non-cCSC group ( p = 0.000). A total of five patients suffered binocular CSC, three of them in the non-cCSC group occurred later than the other two in the cCSC group (129.9–278.3 weeks vs 96.1–114.9 weeks after baseline). Conclusion: SRF, rough RPE, HRM, and number of HRF in outer segment photoreceptor layer 12 weeks after laser treatment, and change in the number of HRF in outer segment photoreceptor layer from baseline to 12 weeks after laser treatment may predict the transition to cCSC.

The prevalence of anxiety and depression is high among men who have sex with men (MSM), but limited studies focus on their development trends. This study examined the prevalence and influencing factors of anxiety and depression in HIV-negative MSM. In this study, 711 subjects were followed up every 24 weeks for 96 weeks. A group-based trajectory model was used to identify different development trends and a logistic regression model was used to explore the influencing factors of different trajectories. Low, moderate, and high anxiety groups accounted for 32.56, 56.12, and 11.32%; and low and high depression groups accounted for 73.90 and 26.10%. High anxiety was associated with a lower education degree, little HIV-related knowledge, and other characteristics (more agreed that “HIV is a threat to me/my family,” had high frequency of seeking sexual partners via the Internet, had a history of sexually transmitted disease (STD), and a sense of discrimination by doctors). High depression was associated with a lower education degree, little HIV-related knowledge, being bisexual and the following characteristics: they felt that HIV infection rate of MSM around them was high, and more agreed that “HIV is a threat to me/my family,” had a high frequency of seeking sexual partners through the Internet and alcohol drinking, had a history of STD, and felt being discriminated against by doctors and others. There is heterogeneity in the development trends of anxiety and depression. Abstract Background Ranibizumab is one of intravitreal anti-vascular endothelial growth factor agents. It is applied in the treatments of choroidal neovascularization, age-related macular degeneration, diabetic macular edema, and macular edema secondary to retinal vein occlusion. Preliminary evidence suggests that intravitreal ranibizumab may enter the plasma and human breast milk in very low-level concentration. As a precaution, breastfeeding is not recommended during the treatment of intravitreal injection of ranibizumab. There are limited data regarding the change of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor concentration in human breast milk after intravitreal injection of ranibizumab, especially in the first 24 h after injection. The purpose of this report is to analyse the concentration change of vascular endothelial growth factor-A in human breast milk with time, in the short term after intravitreal injection of ranibizumab. Case presentation In June 2018, a 30-year-old patient breastfeeding a six-month-old baby was diagnosed with choroidal neovascularization of left eye in Eye Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University. She received four administrations of 0.5 mg intravitreal injection of ranibizumab of the left eye, and breast milk was collected just before the injection, and 1–3, 6, 12, 24, 48, and 72 h after intravitreal injection, and assessed for vascular endothelial growth factor-A concentration. The change in vascular endothelial growth factor-A concentration in human breast milk showed the same trend after each injection, decreasing significantly within 6–12 h (about 20–30% lower), and increasing to pre-injection level by 24 h after injection. Conclusions The concentration of vascular endothelial growth factor-A in human breast milk of a mother who continues lactating dropped initially and rose to pre-injection level about 24 h after intravitreal injection of ranibizumab. The data may offer more information to evaluate the impact of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor agent intravitreal injection of lactating mothers and their breastfed infants.

Hypoxia is a critical problem in intensive Epinephelus coioides aquaculture systems. In the present study, the physiological responses of E. coioides muscle to acute hypoxic stress (DO = 0.6 ± 0.1 mg/L) and reoxygenation (DO = 6.0 ± 0.1 mg/L) were analyzed by transcriptome sequencing (RNA-seq) and quantitative real-time PCR (qRT–PCR). RNA-seq was conducted on the muscle tissues of E. coioides in the hypoxia-tolerant (EMS), hypoxia-sensitive (EMW), and normoxic (CM) groups. Among the three groups, a total of 277 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified. KEGG analysis revealed that the pathways significantly enriched after hypoxic stress are involved in the immune response, glycolysis/gluconeogenesis, energy metabolism, vasodilation and proliferation, cell proliferation, and apoptosis. qRT‒PCR verified that the differentially expressed genes FIH-1, PHD-2, PPARα, BCL-XL, LDH-A, and Flt-1 were significantly upregulated after hypoxic stress and returned to normal levels after reoxygenation, suggesting that these DEGs play important roles in responding to hypoxia treatment. In addition, the HIF-1 signaling pathway was also activated under hypoxic stress, and qRT‒PCR confirmed that the expression level of HIF-1α was significantly elevated under acute hypoxic stress, indicating that the HIF-1 signaling pathway is the central pathway in the E. coioides hypoxic response mechanism and activates other related pathways to adapt to hypoxic stress. These pathways jointly regulate energy metabolism, substance synthesis, blood vessel proliferation, cell proliferation, and differentiation and prolong survival time. These results provide ideas for understanding physiological regulation after hypoxic stress and reoxygenation and provide basic insights for the future breeding of hypoxia-tolerant E. coioides.

BackgroundThe efficacy of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is highly dependent on adherence, and one of the main reasons for poor adherence is forgetfulness. Therefore, it is important to explore how to remind users to take their medicine on time. ObjectiveThis study aims to explore the effect of a reminder system on PrEP adherence in men who have sex with men (MSM) to improve adherence. The main function of the reminder system based on the WeChat social media app is to send daily messages to PrEP users reminding them to take their medicine. MethodsAn open-label, multicenter, prospective cohort study of PrEP in HIV-negative MSM was conducted from November 2019 to June 2021. Study participants who met the criteria were randomly divided into 2 groups: no-reminder group and reminder group. Both groups received daily oral PrEP with follow-up every 3 months. Adherence was measured on the basis of self-report and was defined as the percentage of medications taken on time. Participants in the reminder group scanned a WeChat QR code and received a reminder message every day. Participants in the no-reminder group took daily oral medicines without reminders. The longitudinal trajectories of adherence for both groups were displayed to compare the variability in adherence at each time point. The association between the changes in adherence (no change, improvement, decline) at each time point and the use of the reminder system was analyzed by multinomial logistic regression models to further explore the effectiveness of the system. ResultsA total of 716 MSM were included in the analysis, that is, 372 MSM in the no-reminder group and 344 MSM in the reminder group. Adherence in the no-reminder group fluctuated between 0.75 and 0.80 and that in the reminder group gradually increased over time from 0.76 to 0.88. Adherence at each time point was not statistically different between the 2 groups. Further analysis showed that an improvement in adherence in the early stage was associated with the use of the reminder system (odds ratio [OR] 1.65, 95% CI 1.01-2.70; P=.04). An improvement in average adherence compared to initial adherence was positively associated with the use of the reminder system (OR 1.82, 95% CI 1.10-3.01; P=.02). ConclusionsThe effect of the reminder system on PrEP adherence in MSM was more significant in the early stage, which is related to the increased motivation of users and the development of medicine-taking habits. The reminder system is potentially effective for early-stage medicine management, encouraging users to develop healthy medicine-taking habits and to increase their adherence. Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) is widely found in oil and natural gas wells and industrial wastewater tanks. Owing to its high toxicity, the monitoring and detection of H2S in the air is essential. However, recent techniques for the quantitative detection of H2S gas suffer from limitations such as high cost, complicated operation, and insufficient sensitivity, preventing their practical application in industry. Thus, we have developed a portable test paper for real-time and inexpensive monitoring of H2S gas by color changes. The test paper had a significantly low H2S detection limit of 200 ppb, which is considered safe for humans. Moreover, the color of the test paper did not change noticeably when exposed to CO2, N2, O2, and air environments, indicating that the test paper is selective for H2S gas and can be stored for a long time. In addition, we fitted a color difference linear model between the color difference values (ΔE) and the concentrations of H2S gas. The establishment of the linear model substantiates that the test paper can provide accurate intensity information when detecting H2S gas leakage.

Abstract Connected and Automated Vehicle (CAV) is a transformative technology that has great potential to improve urban traffic and driving safety. Electric Vehicle (EV) is becoming the key subject of next-generation CAVs by virtue of its advantages in energy saving. Due to the limited endurance and computing capacity of EVs, it is challenging to meet the surging demand for computing-intensive and delay-sensitive in-vehicle intelligent applications. Therefore, computation offloading has been employed to extend a single vehicle’s computing capacity. Although various offloading strategies have been proposed to achieve good computing performace in the Vehicular Edge Computing (VEC) environment, it remains challenging to jointly optimize the offloading failure rate and the total energy consumption of the offloading process. To address this challenge, in this paper, we establish a computation offloading model based on Markov Decision Process (MDP), taking into consideration task dependencies, vehicle mobility, and different computing resources for task offloading. We then design a computation offloading strategy based on deep reinforcement learning, and leverage the Deep Q-Network based on Simulated Annealing (SA-DQN) algorithm to optimize the joint objectives. Experimental results show that the proposed strategy effectively reduces the offloading failure rate and the total energy consumption for application offloading.

Floating islands have been commonly utilized for the ecological remediation of urban waters; meanwhile, they are beneficial to landscape decoration and beauty improvement. Therefore, this work was conducted to analyze the roles of floating islands in water purification, urban aesthetics, and the potential association. Based on this, different plant-based floating islands were constructed and employed for the treatment of lake water, and biochar was utilized as fillers for the coordination and the capacity enhancement, which fulfilled the synergism of plants, biochar, and the attached microbes. Furthermore, specific effects of floating islands on the improvement of urban aesthetics were analyzed from different perspectives, and the corresponding thinking was proposed for the designing and the optimization, including plants collocation, spatial layout, cultural background, and contact with nature. This work offers a new insight into the construction of floating islands to realize the water purification and strengthen the beauty of urban landscapes, and thus improving the living environment quality of human beings on the whole.

The aluminum-basalt fiber composite coating was prepared for the first time with basalt fiber as the spraying material by cold-spraying technology. Hybrid deposition behavior was studied by numerical simulation based on Fluent and ABAQUS. The microstructure of the composite coating was observed on the as-sprayed, cross-sectional, and fracture surfaces by SEM, focusing on the deposited morphology of the reinforcing phase basalt fibers in the coating, the distribution of basalt fibers, and the interaction between basalt fibers and metallic aluminum. The results show that there are four main morphologies of the basalt fiber-reinforced phase, i.e., transverse cracking, brittle fracture, deformation, and bending in the coating. At the same time, there are two modes of contact between aluminum and basalt fibers. Firstly, the thermally softened aluminum envelops the basalt fibers, forming a seamless connection. Secondly, the aluminum that has not undergone the softening effect creates a closed space, with the basalt fibers securely trapped within it. Moreover, the Rockwell hardness test and the friction-wear test were conducted on Al–basalt fiber composite coating, and the results showed that the composite coating has high wear resistance and high hardness.

Imaging through scattering media faces great challenges. Object information will be seriously degraded by scattering media, and the final imaging quality will be poor. In order to improve imaging quality, we propose using the transmitting characteristics of an object’s polarization information, to achieve imaging through scattering media under natural light using an improved U-net. In this paper, we choose ground glass as the scattering medium and capture the polarization images of targets through the scattering medium by a polarization camera. Experimental results show that the proposed model can reconstruct target information from highly damaged images, and for the same material object, the trained network model has a superior generalization without considering its structural shapes. Meanwhile, we have also investigated the effect of the distance between the target and the ground glass on the reconstructing performance, in which, and although the mismatch distance between the training set and the testing sample expands to 1 cm, the modified U-net can also efficaciously reconstruct the targets.

To provide carbon steel a long-term corrosion protection effect in NaCl solutions with different pH values, based on poly-acrylamide (PAM) and oleate imidazoline (OIM), a solid corrosion inhibitor with the properties of pH-controlled release was synthesized. SEM, FTIR and TGA results indicated that the OIM inhibitors were successfully loaded into PAM hydrogel with a high OIM encapsulation content (39.64 wt.%). The OIM release behavior from the hydrogel structure has two stages, quick release and sustained release. The pH of solutions could affect the initial release kinetics of OIM inhibitors and the diffusion path in the hydrogel structure. Weight loss measurement of L80 steel in different pH solutions with OIM@PAM proved the inhibitor responsive release mechanism and anticorrosion performance. The inhibition efficiency of OIM@PAM can maintain over 80% after long-term immersion in a harsh corrosive environment (pH 3), which is much higher than the inhibition efficiency of OIM@PAM in a moderate corrosive solution.

AIM: To observe the melanin change of the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) and choroid in the convalescent stage of Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada (VKH). METHODS: A retrospective study was performed on 40 eyes of 20 patients in the convalescent stage of VKH. Fundus photography (FP), multi-spectral imaging (MSI), and optical coherence tomography (OCT) were performed. RESULTS: In the VKH convalescent stage, focal RPE melanin accumulation (FRMA) was detected in 34 eyes (85%) on MSI and in 7 eyes (17.5%) on FP. FRMA was limited to the previous retinal detachment area in all 28 eyes (FRMA was detected in 34 eyes on MSI, which were enrolled, and 6 eyes lacked data in the acute stage). Sunset-glow fundus was detected in 20 eyes (50%) on FP. The mean density of FRMA in a 1-mm-diameter circular area of the fovea was 0.04±0.07 on MSI, which was significantly correlated with sunset-glow fundus (ρ=0.467, P=0.02). CONCLUSION: In the VKH convalescent stage, FRMA is derived from the RPE melanin change, and sunset-glow fundus is derived from the choroid melanin change. A higher density of FRMA in the fovea and sunset-glow fundus represents more serious depigmentation of melanin.

PurposeTo compare the efficacy of initial vs. delayed photodynamic therapy (PDT) in combination with intravitreal injection of conbercept (IVC) for polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy (PCV).DesignMulticenter, randomized, non-inferiority clinical trial.SubjectsNaïve PCV patients.MethodsPatients were randomized 1:1 into two groups: initial PDT with IVC and delayed PDT with IVC. At baseline, patients in the initial combination group were treated with PDT and IVC within 1 week, while patients in the delayed combination group were treated with IVC alone. PDT and IVC was given PRN during the follow-up in each group.Main Outcome MeasuresNon-inferiority of delayed PDT with IVC to initial PDT with IVC for mean change in best-corrected visual acuity from baseline to month 12 (95% CI of the difference entirely above −5 letters).ResultsEighty-six patients were enrolled, with 43 in each group. At month 12, the change of BCVA in initial combination group was equivalent to that in the delayed combination group, with gains of 6.42 ± 1.89 and 7.49 ± 2.14 (mean ± standard error) letters, respectively [delayed group minus initial group: 1.07 letters; 95% confidence interval (CI): −4.62 to 6.76; Pnon−inferiority = 0.0198]. The rates of complete polyp regression were 66.67 and 45.83% in the initial and delayed combination groups, respectively. The difference was not statistically significant (P = 0.386). The mean reductions of CRT were 204.77 ± 28.79 and 84.14 ± 30.62 μm in each group respectively. The difference was statistically significant (P = 0.005). In addition, the mean injection numbers were 3.47 ± 2.39 and 4.91 ± 2.65 in each group respectively. The differences were statistically significant (P = 0.010).ConclusionsThere was effective in both groups in patients with PCV. The initial combination group showed a more efficient decrease in CRT and polyp regression, along with fewer injections. Men who have sex with men (MSM) are at high risk of infection with human papillomavirus (HPV). Some countries have incorporated MSM into their HPV vaccination strategies. The acceptance of the HPV vaccine is an important factor affecting vaccine promotion in MSM. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing HPV vaccination willingness among MSM in China. Non-probability sampling was used to recruit MSM in China in June 2021. The information collected included demographic characteristics, HPV knowledge, attitude, behavior, history of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), and HPV vaccination intention. A structural equation model was used to analyze the data based on the theory of knowledge-attitude-behavior. Among 889 participants, 736 (82.79%) of the MSM were willing to receive the HPV vaccine. The results of the structural equation model showed that knowledge, attitude, behavior, and STD history influenced the vaccination intention, of which knowledge (total effect of .36) and attitude (total effect of .31) had the greatest influence. Since most MSM in China were willing to be vaccinated against HPV, they should be considered for inclusion in the HPV vaccination program. Enhancing HPV awareness and improving risk awareness may be useful in increasing the vaccination willingness of MSM in China.

The traditional research on steel plate shear wall structure mainly focuses on the overall performance of the wall, and the mechanical properties of the connection between plates and plates and between plates and frames are not clear. In this paper, the experimental research on the wallboard structure of bending plate was carried out and the mechanical properties and failure modes of five walls were analyzed. In addition, the connection properties between plates and frames were studied by finite element analysis. A simplified finite element model is presented by experimental study and finite element analysis. The results show that the finite element analysis results are in good agreement with the experimental results. The finite element model with the two-point binding constraint between the end of the bending plate and the angle steel can well simulate the mechanical properties of the steel plate shear wall structure.

Abstract Background To examine the differences between pregnant women who underwent embryo transfer (ET) and those who conceived naturally, as well as differences in their respective babies, and to determine the causes for these differences, to provide recommendations for women who are planning to undergo ET. Methods A retrospective cohort study was performed of women who had received ET and those who had natural conception (NC) who received medical services during pregnancy and had their babies delivered at the Shunde Women and Children’s Hospital of Guangdong Medical University, China between January 2016 and December 2018. In line with the requirements of the ethics committee, before the formal investigation, we first explained the content of the informed consent of the patient to the patient, and all the subjects included agreed to the content of the informed consent of the patient. Respondents agreed to visit and analyze their medical records under reasonable conditions. Each case in an ET group of 321 women was randomly matched with three cases of NC (963 cases) who delivered on the same day. The demographic information, past history, pregnancy and delivery history, and maternal and neonatal outcomes of the two groups were compared using univariate analysis. Results Age, duration of hospitalization, number of pregnancies, number of miscarriages, induced abortion, ectopic pregnancy, gestational diabetes mellitus, preeclampsia, gestational anemia, pregnancy risk, mode of fetal delivery, and number of births were significantly different between the two groups (all P 0.05). The percentages for low birth weight and premature birth were significantly higher in the ET group than in the NC group. In contrast, infant gender and prevalence of fetal macrosomia, fetal anomaly, neonatal asphyxia, and extremely low birth weight were not significantly different between the two groups (all P > 0.05). Conclusions The clinical outcomes of mothers and the birth status of infants were better in the NC group than in the ET group. Maternal health must be closely monitored and improved in the ET group to reduce the incidence of gestational comorbidity and enhance the quality of fetal life.

The emerging multi-cloud environments (MCEs) empower the execution of large-scale scientific workflows (SWs) with sufficient resource provisioning. However, due to complex task dependencies in SWs and various cost-performance of cloud resources, the SW scheduling in MCEs faces huge challenges. To address these challenges, we propose an Online Workflow Scheduling algorithm based on Adaptive resource Allocation and Consolidation (OWS-A2C). In OWS-A2C, the deadline reassignment is first executed for SW tasks based on the execution performance of instance resources, which enhances resource utilization from a local perspective when executing an SW. Next, the execution instances are allocated and consolidated according to the performance requirements of multiple SWs, which improves resource utilization and reduces the total costs of executing multiple SWs from a global perspective. Finally, the SW tasks are dynamically scheduled to the execution instances with the earliest-deadline-first (EDF) discipline and completed before their sub-deadlines. The extensive simulation experiments are conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed OWS-A2C on SW scheduling in MCEs, which outperforms three baseline scheduling methods with higher resource utilization and lower execution costs under deadline constraints.

This study aimed to explore the psychological status and influencing factors of men who have sex with men (MSM) during the stable period of the COVID-19 epidemic, to provide a reference for the mental health counseling of MSM, and to provide a scientific basis for this group to actively respond to public health emergencies. A cross-sectional survey was conducted on the demographic characteristics, epidemic experiences, risk perception, and COVID-19-related attitudes of MSM in western China, and MSM anxiety and depression were assessed by using the Anxiety Self-Rating Scale and the Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression (CES-D) Scale. The incidences of MSM anxiety and depression in the post-COVID-19 epidemic period are 21.7% and 38.0%, respectively. Logistic regression analysis showed that in terms of anxiety, high controllability of the epidemic (OR = 0.7616) is a protective factor. Thinking that they are more susceptible to COVID-19 (OR = 1.6168) and worrying about another outbreak of the epidemic (OR = 1.4793) are risk factors. In terms of depression, being able to protect themselves from being infected with COVID-19 (OR = 0.6280) is a protective factor. The role of anal sex as “0”/“0.5,” and believing that they are more susceptible to COVID-19 (OR = 1.3408) are risk factors. The sudden outbreak affected the psychological state of MSM and even caused negative feelings of anxiety and depression. These findings suggest that prevention and education should be strengthened, and effective intervention measures should be taken as soon as possible, to improve the mental health of MSM.

Background: From the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) constitution theory perspective, the phlegm-dampness constitution is thought to be closely related to the occurrence of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). However, this viewpoint still lacks rigorous statistical evidence. This study aimed to test the association between the phlegm-dampness constitution and NAFLD.Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study. Participants were residents living in Chengdu, China, undergoing health checkups at the health management center of Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine between December 2018 and September 2020. TCM constitution type was diagnosed by DAOSH four examinations instrument, NAFLD was diagnosed according to the liver ultrasonography and medical history. Multivariate logistic regression and propensity score matching (PSM) were used to analyze a total of 1,677 qualified data.Results: 1,037 participants had biased constitution(s), 67.8% of which had mixed constitutions (with at least two constitutions). Among 1,677 participants, the phlegm-dampness constitution was associated with the yang-deficiency, yin-deficiency, dampness-heat, qi-depression, and blood-stasis constitutions. The correlation coefficients were 0.11, 0.32, 0.42, 0.20, 0.14, respectively. Between the phlegm-dampness constitution and NAFLD, the odds ratio (OR) and the 95% confidence interval (CI) was 2.05 (1.57–2.69) in the crude model. After adjusting for age, gender, Body mass index (BMI), other biased constitutions, smoking, high blood pressure, diabetes, and dyslipidemia, the OR reduced to 1.51 (1.04–2.18). The associations of seven other biased TCM constitutions and NAFLD were not statistically significant in the fully adjusted model. The PSM analysis showed consistent results with the logistic regression.Conclusions: Among eight biased TCM constitutions, the phlegm-dampness constitution is independently associated with NAFLD. We speculate the phlegm-dampness constitution is a risk factor of NAFLD. Longitudinal studies are needed to confirm this causal relationship in the future. In addition, inconsistent with some TCM practitioners' experience, we disagree that the blood-stasis constitution is associated with NAFLD.

Background: Men who have sex with men (MSM), as a marginal population, has been largely ignored by health service projects. We assessed the utilization of HIV testing and counselling services and its influencing factors based on Andersen’s Behavioral Model, so as to provide a theoretical basis for future infectious disease prevention and control strategies and health services policy formulation for these population. Method: This was a cross-sectional study. A sample survey was conducted in Western China, and an anonymous self-administered questionnaire survey was conducted among MSM. Based on Andersen’s Behavioral Model, the questionnaire divided the influencing factors into predisposing factor, enabling factor and need factor. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to explore the factors influencing the utilization of HIV testing and counselling. Results: There were 3184 valid questionnaires. In the survey of HIV health services, 82.85% MSM had HIV testing and 64.98% MSM had HIV counselling, respectively. Among the predisposing factor, age 25 years old and over was a facilitator of HIV testing and counselling, and ethnicity was a factor associated with HIV testing. Among the enabling factor, MSM living in urban were more likely to have access to testing and counselling services, and income was also linked to HIV testing. Among the need factor, a high level of HIV knowledge could promote testing and counselling, and a history of sexually transmitted diseases (STD) was a facilitator of testing. Conclusions: HIV testing is widespread in Western China and higher than counselling service. MSM with high-risk characteristics should be identified as a priority in the future public health services.
